There are things coming from me that I felt I wanted to talk about. My search for my own blend of spirituality, my acknowledgement of my sexuality, my being the single mother of a young man.

Mukthi as the end; you are at the front.
O mother O mother all are on the run.
Renunciation as the means; all else are only dreams.
O mother O mother you are at the reign.
Fearlessness in your scriptures; put all others in ruptures.
O mother O mother you are sending shivers.
Oneness as the truth; what more is there to search.
O mother O mother this is what you vouch.
Religion is realisation; everything else only make sensation.
O mother O mother grandeur is your definition.
Spirituality in the air; whatelse can we aspire.
O mother O mother you are present everywhere.
Noble thoughts from you; the world owes all to you.
O mother O mother all has taken only from you.
We are the divine force; what more can be the driving force.
O mother O mother all are from the same source.

Wondering
You made me feel so happy
So wanted
I felt special
And pretty
My life was brighter
Because you were in it
But that was
Long ago
You were what I thought
I Wanted at the time
But I had to let
Go of you
Things were falling apart
We barely saw each other
We were too young
Simply too young
Eventually it would have broken
Even if I had not ended it then
I have grown and changed
And I have realized
Even though I liked you
I did not love you
You were what I wanted
But are no longer what I seek
I want more in a relationship
Than you gave me
It was the right decision
But I still wonder
What might have
Been

Messiahs Die Young
All of those things that I wanted to say
Well you can take those things and throw them all away- hey hey
Because he who points the finger well only he gets hung
That's why I don't to be a messiah, messiahs die young
All of those things that I wanted to be
Well you can take those things and throw them back at me- he he
Because he is only just as good as he who is the one
That's why I don't to be a messiah, messiahs die young
Messiahs die young.
Messiahs die young!
They die young,
Messiahs die young!
Messiahs die young.
Messiahs die young!
They die young.
Messiahs!
Why get in line if you don't want to wait
They say that time is money-- sell your watch today, hey hey
And if you've never been to China well the slow boat leaves at one
That's why I don't want to be a messiah, messiahs die
I don't want to be a messiah, messiahs die
I don't want to be a messiah! I just want to have fun
Not die young.
Messiahs die young!
They die young.
Messiahs die young!
Messiahs die young.
Messiahs die young!
Messiahs die young.

I Think I Fell In Love
It started so simple when I met you,
And thought nothing of it,
Everyday we were freinds I didn't really know,
It would end this way.
I soon discoved something strange,
I looked at you and felt a beat,
like never before,
And I though you felt it to.
I was embarrassed to say it out loud,
But soon I got it out,
and we were together,
Smiling and laughing
But then one day things fell away,
Then one day you stopped smiling at me,
I wanted to love, I wanted to stay,
I wanted to say don't say goodbye.
You made me cry,
like never before,
And I don't why you had to say goodbye,
There is three simple words,
I wanted to say.
But now my chance is gone,
Look at me,
talk to me,
please don't forget me,
Cause I think I fell in love.

Id Rather Be You
1986. released as b-side of single throwing it all away, 1987.
Ooh yeah
You know I never wanted to be closer
And Ill still be here until its over
No, no I never wanted to be closer
But youll be back, I couldve told you
Well I always knew
Yes I could see it coming
Your ambitious streak
You always want things beyond your reach
Well now youve got what you wanted
And youre free to be the things
You always said youd be
Youre up there looking down
Tell me what do you see - oh
Cos you know
You know I never wanted to be closer
And Ill still be here until its over
No, no I never wanted to be closer
Yeah, but youll be back, I couldve told you
Well it seems to me
That youve got to fight for yourself
In this world we live in
Its dog-eat-dog and never give in
Why worry when youre holding the aces
Dont throw it away cos you know
Id rather be you than me
Up there looking down
Tell me what do you see - oh
Hey hey yeah
Ooh yeah
You know I never wanted to be closer (never wanted)
And Ill still be here til its over
No, no I never wanted to be closer (never wanted)
Ooh but youll be back, I couldve told you
Its been a long time coming
But at last we seem to be moving on, straight ahead
Were finally getting something done
Time flies and fore you know it
Youll be getting closer to where
You always knew youd be
Up there looking down
Tell me what do you see - oh
Cos you know
No, no I never wanted to be closer (never wanted)
Ill still be here until its over
No, you know I never wanted to be closer (never wanted)
Yeah but youll be back, I couldve told you
Hey hey yeah...

Dont Talk To Me!
dont talk to me about Jesus,
when you wouldnt sit down
and eat with Him...
dont talk to me about patriotism,
the only flag i allow
is the one that burns.
dont talk to me about freedom,
bought with the blood
of Native Americans...
Asians, Africans, Middle Eastern peoples,
and renegade fugitive Irishmen.
dont talk to me about equality,
when you treat your women as possessions.
dont talk to me about morality,
dont even go there!
dont talk to me about sexuality,
when you hide in darkened rooms,
doing things in secret
that dont rhyme your Sunday prayers.
dont talk to me about truth,
and try to sell me the lie!
dont talk to me about fear,
and then try to use it against me.
just... dont talk to me!

Lets Talk
I saw you coming
I called your name
You couldnt hear me
You walked on by
Somethings changed
Everythings rearranged
You didnt see me
You didnt answer
I was invisible to your cause
I tried to tell you
I was your friend
You just kept walking
Like it was the end
Lets talk
Tell me all about it
Lets talk
What could it hurt now?
Lets talk
Wont you tell me what is wrong, yeah?
Lets talk
We can work it out, somehow
I saw you coming
You wore a wig
I wanted to laugh
But you looked so serious
I say lets talk
And you just walk
How was i
To approach you?
You really left no room
Run out in the crowd
If you really want to,
But why not try
For something new?

The Pain That You Went Through
As I think of my past
Tears start to run down my eyes
And this is a memory that will never go away but it will last
Of the things I did to you guys
I remember as sometimes I would come to your rooms at night
And I would talk to you about what you did that day
And how I would hug you so tight
Before I would turn out light and we would pray
I miss the sound of your each of your voices
This hurts me because of all the pain that I caused the both of you
Sometimes we make the wrong choices
And how I can now feel the pain that you went through
There are times when I should know what I needed to do
Especially when I knew that you wanted to talk to me and you waited by the phone
Because I knew that all you wanted to say is daddy we love you
This hurts me because s I felt like I left the both of you feeling alone
So please forgive me in the things that I have done
And I want us to be pals again and for the both of you see
That I am proud of the both of my sons
And all I want is us to be is a family

Time After Time
She makes me laugh
Shell make me cry
And when we talk
She wonders why
That I cant breathe into this life
With the things she says I wanna die
All the things we talk about you know they stay on my mind
On my mind
All the things we laugh about theyll bring us through it everytime
After time after time
Cuz you're all I wanted to find
Cuz you're all I wanted to find
And I would drive, the whole night through
Just so I could spend it with you
I know youre mine, and I hope its true
That when we fight, we will make it through
All the things we talk about you know they stay on my mind
On my mind
All the things we laugh about theyll bring us through it everytime
After time after time
Cuz you're all I wanted to find
Cuz you're all I wanted to find
Im falling, Im falling, Im falling down
Im falling, Im falling, Im falling down
Im falling, Im falling, Im falling down
Im falling, Im falling, Im falling down
Down, down, down
Cuz you're all i wanted to find
Cuz you're all i wanted to find
Cuz you're all i wanted to find
Cuz you're all i wanted to find
Yes you're all, yes you're all I wanted

Single Father
Lately I've been spendin lots of time with my kid
Tellin him stories
About the things that we did
When we were a family
Long time ago
I've answered his questions
Till I'm blue in the face
Wish all that hurt in him
I could erase
But I tell him the truth
Cause he ain't too young to know
Single father
Part time mother
When I'm not one
Then I'm the other
You used to be
My full time lover
Now I'm a single father
And a part time mother
I spend every minute
I can with my boy
There's no doubt about it
He's my pride and joy
Someday he will grow up
And I wont have him no more
Some things I just find
Too hard to explain
So we go to McDonalds
Or I buy him a train
And we go put it together
On the living room floor
Such is the life
Of a single father
He says daddy explain
If its not too much bother
While its just you and me
Living here in this home
I don't understand it
And neither does he
Why there's just two
When there should be three of us
Sharing this moment
Lord I feel so alone
[repeat chorus]

My Old Man
When I was a young boy in brooklyn
Going to public school
During recess in the concrete playground
They lined us up by twos
In alphabetical order, reagan, reed and russo
I still remember the names
And stickball and stoopball were the only games
That we played
And I wanted to be like my old man
I, I wanted to grow up just like my old man
I wanted to be like my old man
I wanted to dress like, I wanted to be just like
I wanted to act like my old man
I wanted to be like, I wanted to act like
I wanted to be just like my old man
And then like everyone else I started to grow
And I didnt want to be like my father anymore
I was sick of his bullying
And having to hide under a desk on the floor
And when he beat my mother
It made me so mad I could choke
And I didnt want to be like my old man
I, I didnt even want to look like my old man
I didnt even want to seem like my old man
A son watches his father, being cruel to his mother
And makes a vow to return only when
He is so much richer, in every way so much bigger that -
- the old man will never hit anyone again
Like my old man (just like my old man)
Like my old man
Like my old man (just like my old man)
Like my old man
And can you believe what he said to me
He said, lou, act like a man (walk like a man)
Why dont you act just like a man
Act like your daddy, act like a man (just like my old man)
Oh, why dont you act just like a man
Like your old man (walk like a man)
(just like my old man)
(just like my old man)

Where Is She Now?
I once knew,
this person who,
devoted their live,
to changing the world,
but now I wonder,
where she went.
She had a heart,
that only would beat,
when she felt that this world,
truly needed a shining light.
She wanted to be that light,
she wanted to change,
she wanted to give hope,
she wanted it all,
but now look,
where is she now?
Many years ago,
I was this young girl,
who only wanted the best,
who only needed to see,
the smile of one person,
to brighten her day.
Now she can't even look,
at a single smile,
because it just brings her down,
nothing can ever change,
not in her eyes.
Her eyes were once blue,
blue like the skies,
but now her eyes,
are a dark coal-like colour.
She's lost in this world,
she's lost herself too,
I just wish,
she'd figure her life out soon.

Whenever We Wanted
We werent afraid of nothing
Wasnt nothing we couldnt do
She held her breath once for seven minutes
And never turned blue
She could burn a woman down
If she felt shed been unkind
Or if she thought she was coming on to me
It drove her out of her mind
Chorus:
Oh yeah, its true
We just did what we did
Whenever we wanted to
Yeah, its true
We just did what we did
Whenever we wanted to
She was my very best friend
My biggest enemy
On judgement day we could go either way
It was all the same you see
She was not afraid of satan
In fact she thought he was a joke
Said shed tear off his tail
And run her fist down his throat
Chorus:
Oh yeah, its true
We just did what we did
Whenever we wanted to
Yeah, its true
We just did what we did
Whenever we wanted to
She was the apple of temptation
The apple of my eye
Used to rest on a bed of burning coats
Every single night
And I know shes out there somewhere
Shes wrestling in the bones
With confetti in her hair
You can bet shes not alone
Chorus:
Oh yeah, its true
We just did what we did
Whenever we wanted to
Yeah, its true
We just did what we did
Whenever we wanted to
Yeah, its true
We just did what we did
Did what we did
Did what we did
Hell, we just did what we did
Whenever we wanted to

Hey MOM
Mother, just wanted to say,
I love you, I do care
Mother just wanted to ask,
Why you look so tired so weathered
Mother just wanted to know
How you make ends meet
Mother just wanted to tell
You are an angel and I’m blessed
Arjun Singh Kishtwaria
Mother you just made me see
The difference between want and a need
Mother why do you cry
When I see you happy when you smile
Mother why do you deny
The pain I gave and tears you cry
Mother I know deep in your eyes
A grief that lives and a child that cries.
Holding your fingers I’ve learnt to walk
Footprints you left is all I’ve to follow
I owe more than a life to you
For now wanna say. I miss U! ! !

I Can See Nobody
I walk the lonely streets; I watch the people passing by.
I used to smile and say hello. Guess I was just a happy guy.
Then you happened, girl, this feeling that posessses me.
I just can't move myself. I guess it all just had to be.
I can't see nobody...no, I can't see nobody.
Mine eyes can only look at you...you.
I used to have a brain; I used to think of many things.
I watched the falling rain and listened to the sweet birds sing.
Don't ask me why, little girl. I love you and that's all I can say.
You're ev'ry ,ev'ry breath I take. You are my nights; my night and day.
I can't see nobody...no, I can't see nobody.
Mine eyes can only look at you...you.
Every single word you hear...is coming from this heart of mine.
I never felt like this before...a love like yours so young and fine.
And now as I try to forget you...it doesn't work out any way.
I loved you such a long time ago...but in my eyes you'll always be.
Every single word you hear...is coming from this heart of mine.
I loved you such a long time ago...don't know why...
And I don't know why...baby...
I can't see nobody...no, I can't see nobody.
Mine eyes can only look at you...you.
I can't see nobody...no, I can't see nobody.
Mine eyes can only look at you...you

When I Was Young I Cried
When I was young I cried when I was sad, when I was young I cried when I was happy, when I was young I cried when I wanted something, when I was young I cried when I was lonely, when I was young I cried when I had to say goodbye, when I was young I cried when my feelings were hurt, when I was young I cried when I wasn't accepted, when I was young I cried when I was mocked, when I was young I cried for attention, when I was young I cried when I was scared, when I was young I cried when I hurt others, when I was young I cried when I felt physical pain, when I was young I cried when I was jealous, when I was young I cried when I lost someone or when I was lost somewhere, when I was young I cried when I didn't know, and now as an adult I cry because I understand.

When We Were Young
as i talk to you,
i start to wonder,
have you always been sensitive,
or have you always hide it,
i remember when we were young,
i looked up to you as my prince,
you protected me and cared for me,
it was young love,
you picked on me,
i picked on you,
always saying 'eww'
when somebody would say
'if you like her so much,
why don't you kiss her? '
always played the tough boy,
but when times got hard,
you hid from me,
afraid i wouldn't see you the same way,
i didn't care,
through the times you seen me at my worse,
crying, hurt, pain,
you remained by my side,
untill i felt like i needed to push you away,
everything changed,
you no longer the boy who use to live across the street,
you no longer by my side when i need you the most,
you got married, i stayed mostly single,
no matter how much time when on between us,
it seems like our connection and feelings remain the same,
i hear it in your voice when i talk to you,
and it always ends the same,
us enjoying our time back when we were young.
