After that initial success, every chance we got we'd hire that remote recording truck and just record stuff at the Whisky because it was so inexpensive.

The thing is that I have a really intense, almost compulsive need to record. But it doesn't end there, because what I record is somehow transformed into a creative thing. There is a continuity. Recording is the beginning of a conceptual production. I am somehow collapsing the two - recording and producing - into a single event.

Well, especially now I come to realize - and then - I would do my schooling which was three hours with a tutor and right after that I would go to the recording studio and record, and I'd record for hours and hours until it's time to go to sleep.

If he's got golf clubs in his truck or a camper in his driveway, I don't hire him.
White Truck Speeds By
I’m driving down Federal on the way to my new home,
I sense that I am not alone.
I look up to see a truck following me,
Or so I thought-
Taking a right I turn down 6th Ave.
I stop in Wallgreens parking lot.
I go through all my stuff that I packed,
I get in my car and I get back on track.
Then as I was sitting at the light,
I notice Guy’s truck real shiny and bright.
His white truck passes and roars,
I see the name of his business on his side doors.
I thought do I text him or not?
Looks like he speed so he won’t get caught.
Caught by me seeing him drive by,
Oh, well I decide to call it a night.

A Red Truck
there is this red
truck with muddy
wheels
beside an old
concrete fence
parked alone
it's been there
for the whole
day under
the sun
not for hire.

On A Sunny Day
the red truck still parks
on the side of the concrete fence
it is TED 413
and still insists that it is
NOT FOR HIRE.

Record Of Mighty Arrest
Recording names of stupor corresponds to success,
The dossier of might, a charter of demand.
We mimic the italics of names all around,
A dossier has been published of one’s cross.
The evidentiary record, the archives, the registry,
All amount to this same collection of names, proper.
Shot at the face, we take in hand and put to notice
Sure ways of arresting and sending to the places suited.

The record company started as an adjunct to that, to give young composers their first recorded performances; to give young musicians their first debut on a recording. These are all things that big record companies would never touch because there is no money in it!

Overnight Sensation
(eric carmen)
Well i know it sounds funny
But i'm not in it for the money, no
I don't need reputation
And i'm not in it for the show
I just want a hit record
Want to hear it on the radio
Want a big hit record
One that everybody's got to know
Well the program director don't pull it
Then it's bound to get back the bullet
So bring the group down to the station
You're gonna be an overnight sensation
I've been tryin' to write the lyric
Not offensive but satiric, too
If you can get it in the "a" slot
It's just gotta make a mint for you
And i want a hit record
Want to hear it on the radio
Want a big hit record
One that everybody's got to own
Overnight sensation
I fit the words
To a good melody
Amazing how success
Has been ignoring me so long
I've used my bread
Making demos all day
And writing in the night
While in my head i hear
The record play
Hear it play
Hit record, yeah
Want a hit record, yeah
Want a hit record, yeah
(number one)
Want a hit record, yeah
(number one)

There are a lot of stuff on the record that I am thinking is generic but actually it is just as good as everybody else who is putting stuff out at the time.

It's like, on my solo stuff, every single person who buys the record, gets it. On the other stuff, the masses... when you have a hit on the radio, not everyone's going to get it. They are going to buy it for the hit.

Normally, you go into the recording studio, make a record and then take it on the road and you think... wow... I could have done THIS to it, or something.

What Defines Success
What is the journey to success?
Success is not gained by defeat
Success does not occur over night
Success can emerge at any age
Success is working to full potential
Success is courage
Success is lending a hand
Success is not listening to negativity
Success is being positive
Success is living your life instead of the life of others
Success is being proud
Success is overcoming obstacles
Success is striving
Success is listening to your heart
Most of all success is accepting
What you have accomplished

What I try to do is produce an atmosphere where musicians want to invest in what they do and give to the recording. I hire those musicians who I know will play something creative and interesting.

Succes My World
When I think success
I see it comes
When i dream success
I see it comes
When i touch success
It fates away
Success success
My hope
I'll find success
Embrace success
When i hold success
I'll keep it save
When I have success
I'll share it
Success success
My world
I'll rule
Yes, I'll influence
Thought, Oh thought
My Success Success
I'll keep,
I see

Stuff
Catalogs fillin up the mailbox
Home shopping on the cable box
And www dot
Oh theres no escape
Delivery truck coming up round the bend
Beep, beep, beep, just backing in
Sign here and here and here again
cause its no money down no payments till
Your whole place is cram packed filed with
Chorus
Stuff (stuff) stack it on stack it on up
(stuff) never gonna ever get enough (stuff)
Oh its treasure till its mine then it aint worth a dime
Its stuff (stuff) spreading like weeds
Dragging me under in an endless sea of stuff
(stuff) there aint no end
Got to get a bigger place so I can move in
More stuff
Its getting late but its alright
The get-it-all mart opened up all night
You can catch it all with a quick swipe
Its easier everyday
Suvs and mini vans
Parading round in caravans
Toting off more than their tires can stand
cause its no money down no payments till
Every square inch of the whole worlds filled with
Chorus
(bridge)
Drag it in, pack it in
The man with the most
He just wins more stuff
Chorus
