Man is troubled not by events, but by the meaning he gives them.

You see, it's never the environment; it's never the events of our lives, but the meaning we attach to the events - how we interpret them - that shapes who we are today and who we'll become tomorrow.

The Way
THERE is a magic pathway through the wood,
There is a current in the troubled stream,
A happy course to steer, if one but could,
A meaning to the dream.
And some in love and some in dogma find
The hint eternal as they kiss or pray;
Some through the crystal circle of the mind
Discern the way.
And some no hint, no pattern of the whole,
Nor star, nor path, nor channel can perceive -
Attempt no answer to the questing soul,
And yet believe
There is a magic pathway through the wood,
There is a current in the troubled stream,
A happy course to steer, if one but could,
A meaning to the dream.

I Am Troubled!
i am troubled...
lord, i am troubled.
i hear the cries
of starving children.
i feel the bombs,
burning up the night.
i smell poverty,
and i taste injustice.
i shudder at prejudice,
i write the prayers
of the forgotten...
and sign their names
on unmarked stones.
what have i done...
lord, what have i done?
with this life,
this path, this cross.
i feel guilty,
and i know their suffering.
i cant help but wonder,
what i could have done
to stop the flood.
i am troubled...
lord, i am troubled.
have i been silent for too long.
and have my words
fallen like ashes,
driven by the mongrel wind.
i am troubled...
lord, i am troubled!

I'm like a decathlete who does all of the events he's used to, but is being forced by certain circumstances to focus on three events, and being forced to focus on events that he wasn't that interested in, and also weren't his strongest events.

Bridge Over Troubled Water
When you' re weary feeling small
When tears are in your eyes I'll dry them all all
I'm on your side oh when times get rough
And friends just can t be found
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When you re down and out
When you re on the street
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you ooh
I'll take your part oh when darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on silver girl
Sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh if you need a friend
I'm sailing right behind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind

Unpleasant Days (after-effects of my fathers death)
Im a troubled child in the face of the moon,
Raised without a father,
Bred without a silver spoon.
Im a troubled child who seeks nothing but perfection,
Annointed to blossom in the pastures of my misconceptions.
Im a troubled child violated of my peace,
Battling burdens with no ease
When will these dark days come to cease.
Im a troubled child with great charisma & no fear,
Catastrophies Im faced with
My life seems so unfair.

Ovid
Troubled
I am troubled
by words
troubled
I never sleep
Learning the local language
I morph into Ovid
and compose an epic poem
no one will ever read
leaving glass sentences
with too much nakedness
scattered all over the floor
like jewels
Sadness oozing out

Troubled Times
Troubled times again are here.
It seems they leave, then reappear.
But that's an illusion that's not real.
For some it's always what they feel.
The ones who have no say at all,
hungry, thirsty since they were small.
Their troubled times are nothing new,
not like the ones that we're used to.
We equate these times with the price of gas
and think to ourselves 'this too shall pass.'
We equate these times to climate change
and think to ourselves it's all so strange.
What's strange my friends is how we perceive
that troubled times are just what we receive.
Troubled times are never really gone.
They come to some on each new dawn.

Here Am I (Salisbury Session Out-take)
I sit in my sunny chair
With my head held low
I know the reason Im dreaming
Its really been fun
But where is there left to go
Save to give my life a new meaning
And if by chance
Youd come my way
Ill have to say
Here am i, give me love
Here am i, give me love
How was I to know
Your heart was unsatisfied
When you never troubled to tell me
No wish that you made to me
Ever was denied
I played it just the way
That it should be
But then you turned
And walked away
I have to say
Here am i, give me love
Here am i, give me love
Here am i, give me love
I imagine I must sit here
Till the winter comes
And just watch the days
Growing shorter
To gather in dust wont go
Till my thinkings done
And I walk from this troubled water
By then my need wont be so bad
And Ill gladly say
Here am i, give me love
Here am i, give me love ...

All Times
Excuse me
I am here to say something
The meaning of my say
Be different to different persons
The meaning of my say
Is equally important to all
The meaning of my say
You are searching and searching
That is not fixed not codified
The meaning of my say
Is true to all times to come
And you are not all timers
Who can know everything
Every meaning of my word my say
Excuse me
I am to say something.

Everything Has Meaning
the floor give meaning to the ceiling
the shore to the sea
the moon to the night sky
the sun to the earth
and man in between and woman
around the arms of man
and the dog amidst them
there is meaning to everything
and to everyone, and the important conclusion is inevitable
there is meaning in you.
decorate this meaning with a smile.
