Ovid
Troubled
I am troubled
by words
troubled
I never sleep
Learning the local language
I morph into Ovid
and compose an epic poem
no one will ever read
leaving glass sentences
with too much nakedness
scattered all over the floor
like jewels
Sadness oozing out

I Am Troubled!
i am troubled...
lord, i am troubled.
i hear the cries
of starving children.
i feel the bombs,
burning up the night.
i smell poverty,
and i taste injustice.
i shudder at prejudice,
i write the prayers
of the forgotten...
and sign their names
on unmarked stones.
what have i done...
lord, what have i done?
with this life,
this path, this cross.
i feel guilty,
and i know their suffering.
i cant help but wonder,
what i could have done
to stop the flood.
i am troubled...
lord, i am troubled.
have i been silent for too long.
and have my words
fallen like ashes,
driven by the mongrel wind.
i am troubled...
lord, i am troubled!

Bridge Over Troubled Water
(words & music by paul simon)
When youre weary, feeling small
When tears are in your eyes I will dry them all
Im on your site, oh, when times get rough
And friends just cant be found
Like a bridge over troubled water,
I will lay me down,
Oh, like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
When youre down and out, when youre on the streets
When evening falls so hard, I will comfort you
Ill take your part when the darkness falls and pain is all around
Yes, like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Oh, like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Sail on, silver girl, sail on by
Your time has come to shine
All your dreams are on their way
See how they shine
Oh, if you need a friend,
Im sailing right behind
Yes, like a bridge over troubled water
I, I will ease your mind
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will easy your mind

Unpleasant Days (after-effects of my fathers death)
Im a troubled child in the face of the moon,
Raised without a father,
Bred without a silver spoon.
Im a troubled child who seeks nothing but perfection,
Annointed to blossom in the pastures of my misconceptions.
Im a troubled child violated of my peace,
Battling burdens with no ease
When will these dark days come to cease.
Im a troubled child with great charisma & no fear,
Catastrophies Im faced with
My life seems so unfair.

Troubled Times
Troubled times again are here.
It seems they leave, then reappear.
But that's an illusion that's not real.
For some it's always what they feel.
The ones who have no say at all,
hungry, thirsty since they were small.
Their troubled times are nothing new,
not like the ones that we're used to.
We equate these times with the price of gas
and think to ourselves 'this too shall pass.'
We equate these times to climate change
and think to ourselves it's all so strange.
What's strange my friends is how we perceive
that troubled times are just what we receive.
Troubled times are never really gone.
They come to some on each new dawn.

Ordinary Dream
I couldnt really understand at all
The writing on the wall
From you to me
A jigsaw puzzle of a twisted tale
That set its lonely sail
From you to me
cause I tried to get the message
But its not understood
Wide apart and so far away
It mattered at the start until I realized instead ....
Im floating in a troubled sky
Watching you as you go by
In an ordinary dream
Im sailing on a troubled sea
Watching you as you watch me
In an ordinary dream
I couldnt understand a word it said
The letter that I read
From you to me
I couldnt fathom out the stuff you wrote
So I guess its just a joke
From you to me
Though reality keeps calling me away from my dream
And the wreakage isnt all it might have been
Didnt matter at the start until I realized it did
Im floating in a troubled sky
Watching you as you go by
In an ordinary dream
Im sailing on a troubled sea
Watching you as you watch me
In an ordinary dream
Im floating in a troubled sky
Watching you as you go by
In an ordinary dream
Im sailing on a troubled sea
Watching you as you watch me
In an ordinary dream

Melancholy (Holy Martyr)
Make the sadness go away
Come back another day
For years I've tried to teach
But their eyes are empty
Empty too I have become
For them I must die
A sad and troubled race
An ungrateful troubled place
Chorus:
I see the sadness in their eyes
Melancholy in their cries
Devoid of all the passion
The human spirit cannot die
Look at the pain around me
This is what I cry for
Look at the pain around me
This is what I'll die for
Make the sadness go away
Come back another day
The things I've said and done
Don't matter to anyone
But still

A Friend
A friend is someone whose arms reach out
far beyond their reach,
to comfort a troubled soul,
and help them through their troubled times.
A friend is someone who always freely gives,
expecting nothing in return,
and is always there
whenever the need may arise.
A friend is someone who cares from the heart.
Who will stand by your side
whenever the troubles start.
A friend is someone whose face may never be seen,
but whose touch is always felt
and their words always
comfort your ailing soul.
A friend is someone who will never criticize,
but will listen to a troubled mind
without complaining.
A friend is someone who is all these,
and so much more.
Someone who will never ignore you,
but will always have the time.

The Poem Is The Feeling Of The Soul
THE POEM IS THE FEELING OF THE SOUL
The poem is the feeling of the soul
Told in the language
Of the deepest beauty.
Even a troubled soul
May have a song
And Darkness find light
In a few words.
Oh music oh life oh loneliness oh fear
What will be?
God help me.

Troubled Heart & A Troubled Mind
(chorus)
A troubled heart and a troubled mind
Is all Im gonna leave behind
Im movin on down the line
Dont shout me down Im doin fine
Youve been hard and heavy on my soul
Gotta lighten the load and let you go
Lifes too short, aint got the time
For a troubled heart and a troubled mind
Got a v-8 ford slung low to the ground
Got a highway leading me outta town
A road map open to the promised land
Ive taken just about as much as I can stand
(repeat chorus)
(bridge)
Windshield wiper slappin off the rain
Bright lights shinin on the passin lane
One more mile, one less tear
So long daddy Im outta here
(repeat chorus)

In The Silence
Silence is too quiet,
It tortures us until we break it.
I was silent for a reason,
The reason not to cause trouble,
But that is all I ever did.
Troubled to stop the pain of my past,
Troubled to hear your voice calling for me,
Troubled to much to grab your hand,
So you could set me free.
In the silence you see struggle,
In the silence you can't see,
You can't breathe.
In the silence you can't hear me,
No matter how loud my voice exceeds.
Never being helped in my eternal silence.

Hamlet soliliquy insomnia
'To sleep, or, not to sleep?
That is the question
Whether it is nobler in the mind
To heave the leaded unslept eyes of sleep
Adrift in that uncertain hour
Between the hem of dawn
And sombre headed night
Or drink the hemlock of dispair
And sleep herewith eternally
In some far distant land?
I, but there's the rub
For in that sleep of death
What dreams may come?
When we have shuffled off our mortal duvets
Must give us pause,
And wrench thus the heavy eyed soul of heaven
With a careful prayer
And thus without relent
Allow the troubled heart and troubled thoughts
No rest but beckon in the coming dawn
With one last stretch
One final yawn
Alas I melt and thaw into a dew!
