Simplicity is the most difficult thing to secure in this world; it is the last limit of experience and the last effort of genius.

Skies The Limit
Written by christine mcvie
If Ive been acting just a little strange
And you have noticed it too
Its cos my life has been rearranged
With the presence of you
The sky is the limit now
We can hit it on the nail
And when we do
Ill think about you
How can we fail
Can you give me one reason why
Youd ever let me down
I wont believe it baby, but Ill try
The truths goin to come around
The sky is the limit now
We can hit it on the nail
And when we do
Ill think about you
How can we fail
The sky is the limit
Oh the sky is the limit
How can we fail
Sooner or later
Ill keep the promise
I made to you
Sooner or later
It will be greater
Then we ever knew
The sky is the limit now
We can hit it on the nail
And when we do
Ill think about you
The sky is the limit now
We can hit it on the nail
And when we do
Ill think about you
How can we fail
The sky is the limit
Oh the sky is the limit
How can we fail
Oh the sky is the limit
How can we fail
The sky is the limit
Oh the sky is the limit
How can we fail
The sky is the limit
Oh the sky is the limit
How can we fail
The sky is the limit
Oh the sky is the limit
How can we fail
The sky is the limit

The Compulsion To Settle For Simplicity....
there is no denying that as a native
i think like a native
am no Englishman from
London Bridge
but a Bisayan from
Mindanao,
as such, i have no choice
but just to be myself,
in the utter simplicity of my language
translating myself
word by word in the nuances of
your Anglo-American world,
there is this attempt to be a part of
your world
did they say that Enlightenment?
that Genius of ideas
is only possible in your world
and not in the
land of my ancestors who know
nothing but only about spices and
spears and arrows and
jugs of wine and tattoos and
barbaric songs?
let me say what i want to say
in a few vocabularies
you may not listen, but at least
i have spoken.
I am thus compelled for that
simplicity that allows me to write this way.
Because i have nothing more
to offer you
Because what i have is only this
insistence to open my heart
and speak
what little love is still
left in there.

Men give me credit for some genius. All the genius I have lies in this when I have a subject in hand, I study it profoundly. Day and night it is before me. My mind becomes pervaded with it. Then the effort that I have made is what people are pleased to call the fruit of genius. It is the fruit of labor and thought.

But I just know from experience that accent wise, even if you're an accent genius, crossing the Atlantic is the hardest thing in the world either way.

It Is Always Difficult To Begin The Week
IT IS ALWAYS DIFFICULT TO BEGIN THE WEEK
It is always difficult to begin the week
One's body is lost in a previous sleep
One's mind is still held down and back
Into resting -
The world is bleak
It is empty and difficult
I am empty inside
I have nothing to do
I have too much to do-
Still I must begin
I will do the usual routine assignments
Slowly I will get back into the motion and mind of my work
I am already trying now-
Even a small effort should bring forth suggestions for further effort
It will take time
Slowly I will find the way
From task to task
Into the real work -
Somehow the week will begin again
It always does-
Though now I am still slow and not there yet
I feel as if in writing this
I have somehow already begun to work again-

what appears is what it is
that is how simple it is
and how beautiful can it be
a petal of a flower is nothing
but a petal of a flower
falling to the ground on a
windless day
caused by no other than
this pull of gravity
we watch a world unfolding
we only use words because there is a need to write
what beautiful thing we have seen
but there is more to the simplicity of all these things
those that we have seen and felt and
cannot completely tell you
even in the most simple words of our poetry
the experience of beauty is so personal
like how i experience the poetry of the heart
it is like this, no, it is like this... words fail now

Poetic Dharma III
fruitful musings
understand and appreciate the true
its costs and the effort required by all involved to maintain it
silver lining surrounding our current circumstances
we as people can come together abandoning,
once and for all, our colonial mentalities and nationalist sentiments,
potent spiritual resonance remarkable, range and truthfulness
of the shared human experience no tricks, no veils,
just pure genius, precise social commentary, keeping the world informed

Not every difficult and dangerous thing is suitable for training, but only that which is conducive to success in achieving the object of our effort.

You must not for one instant give up the effort to build new lives for yourselves. Creativity means to push open the heavy, groaning doorway to life. This is not an easy struggle. Indeed, it may be the most difficult task in the world, for opening the door to your own life is, in the end, more difficult than opening the doors to the mysteries of the universe.

Judge Me
People judge me for my boricua skin
Over looking the beauty with in.
Oh, it may hurt, it surely can
But the sky is the limit, That I understand.
A female Latina that’s what they see
Failure and disaster thy hope I be
Little do they know, the determination in me
It will mold me, until I succeed.
Does my finesse bother you?
Do my dreams interfere with what you do?
To each it’s own, is what I say defend you?
The sky’s the limit that’s what I say.
Boricua pride is my thrive
You can see it in my beautiful brown eyes.
I know I can and you should too
The limit for me and you.
You may hate me,
But the sky’s the limit
You may judge me,
But the sky’s the limit
You will always have discrimination,
But the sky is MY limit.

Take It To The Limit
[Japanese Bonus Track]
Been here just long enough to see what trip you're on
Suffered from your ugly deeds
The way you're pushin all, Oh No
Better watch out what you're doing
Better take some rest or get right of here, oh yeah
Haven't you hurt the people tryin to be your friend
[Chorus:]
You take it to the limit, you take it to the top
You take it to the limit, until you get stopped
You take it to the limit, you take it to the top
Stop! Stop!
You think you're somebody
But you'll never be
On the back of others
You're just acting
Like a thief, oh yeah
Better watch out what you're sayin
Better take your hat and get right out of here
Didn't you lose all the people
Tryin to be your friend
[Chorus:]
You take it to the limit, you take it to the top
You take it to the limit, til you get stopped
You take it to the limit, til you get shot, stop it!
Take it to the limit, take it to the top
Take it to the limit, til you get stopped
Take it to the limit, get out of my head!

Who Would Have Thought
strange to hear them say
i miss being a kid
though when all you had
to do was go to school
used to think
that
was so difficult
so eager to grow up
so eager to venture out into the world
so eager to earn money
so eager to spend money
so eager to travel to exotic places
so eager to experience life
some say school days
are the best days of your life
some said it is hard to believe...
that these are the best days of our life
when they were still teenagers at school...
I say why limit yourself expect
hope pray
the best is yet
to come

One's Own Understanding Of Life
The most difficult thing one can do,
Is to break away from that which comforts...
To pursue one's own understanding of life,
No one else has or can from their past...
Can say they have had enough experience to debate.
