Just Imagine...............

Some of us look at the present state of this world
And wish things could be different
We imagine the way the world should be
We visualize and hypothesize - it is possible

Imagine the whole world speaking one language
Then, there will be no need for translators
Everybody will understand each other
no matter where they live on planet earth
One language will reduce racial discrimination
and facilitate movements across national borders

Just imagine the entire world using one currency
The need to convert dollars into yen will vanish
or ask – how many euros equals one renminbi
or wonder how many pesos equals one rupee
and speculate how many rands equal one riyal
All the folks in foreign exchange departments
will do something else in the financial market
apart from tracking the rise and fall of
money markets and its influence on stock markets

Just imagine the super rich taking more care
of the poor, the needy, and the unemployed
Then, the homeless will disappear from our roads
The beggars will vanish from our streets
An egalitarian society will be in the making

Just imagine free education at all levels
Then, everybody will be able to develop their
talents and natural endowments to the maximum
Scholars will not be burdened with heavy
student loans for the rest of their lives
They will think of better ways to improve the
society rather than think how to pay back loans

Do you feel all the above imaginations are mere dreams?
Who knows tomorrow! Some dreams have turned into reality
in our life-time. Please stay happy and be optimistic.

Credit crunch!

I hear no sound of joy or laughter
As the markets crash like thunder
Take a look at the whole financial bunch
Many made money on just a keypunch

Banks which once stood brave
Are now begging to be saved
With Governments pumping billions into banks
Because many claim to have empty money tanks

People’s savings are wiped off the record
Sit home! Sit home! Calculate what you can afford
For fast is this growing curse flowing
As the financial chaos wind keeps blowing

On each lip only two words are spoken
Credit-Crunch!
Behold the whole Financial Market is broken!

Momentary Contact With This Slight Inconvenience

With trillions of dollars in debt.
There are still some people,
Who are hopeful...
The price of gas will lower below a dollar.
A loaf of bread,
Will be twenty five cents again.
A push cart will be full of groceries...
For less than twenty dollars.
And what is being experienced now,
Is not a crisis!
It's a temporary slugfest...
With someone bashing them over the head,
With a ton of bricks.
However...
This 'momentary' contact with this slight 'inconvenience'
Is being addressed and will be taken care of...
As soon as it becomes recognized as a severe condition!

And folks are hopeful these sentiments expressed,
Are being made in the utmost of honesty!
Their lifestyles will return them to Utopia!

'Oh,
I sure hope so.
We must not accept negative thinking!
You know how that can play tricks on the mind?
Better times are coming back.
The gasoline is 'almost' below four dollars now! '

The financial markets generally are unpredictable. So that one has to have different scenarios... The idea that you can actually predict what's going to happen contradicts my way of looking at the market.

I Had So Many Other Poems To Write

I HAD SO MANY OTHER POEMS TO WRITE

I had so many other poems to write
So dark and deep in me
But suddenly
A small ailment came
And I could no longer be.

The world goes on
There are other poems
As good or better than mine

There are trillions and trillions of other things
The world won't vanish without mine

Our Way of Life

It takes two quarters back to back
Of slow or no growth,
To qualify what we are not experiencing...
As a recession.

Now...
And I want this totally understood.
If a tree loses a few leaves...
It can still be identified as a tree.
Just because there are no waves showing,
At Laguna Beach at noon on Tuesday...
Does not mean the surfers are going to abandon it!
They realize these things happen.
And will show up on Wednesday at 10AM.

It's like this...
And this is the way I see it.
What's the difference between brown and white eggs?
The taste is the same.

The winds are blowing a little rough right now.
But who here believes those sailors aboard our submarines...
Are not below those waters wishing for smooth sailing,
All the time?
When I had visited the USS Prosperity...
They were all high-fiving!
You all should have seen that!

Now...
I know none of this makes sense.
But I am here to tell you the economy is strong!
And that reminds me of Mrs. Parker.
She only had ten dollars to her name.
Not once had I heard her complain,
About feeding her 15 children needing food to eat.
You know why?
Hope!

And just because we are going to lend,
Trillions of dollars to those financial institutions
That lost investments in the housing industry...
Does not mean we are suffering from a crisis!
And these allegations have to stop,
If we are expected to maintain our greatness.

What we are going through right now...
Is a slight bump on the road to recovery.
And that's why we must stay in Iraq!
To give up now would mean turning our backs,
On our way of life!

The New American Way # 3

lets see.
you finance your multi-trillion dollar
wars 100% with China ... and leave
the burden of the debt for the
American taxpayer to pay.

meanwhile, you take the billions
(maybe trillions) of dollars profit
that you make on defense contracts,
etc ... and put it in your pockets.

i've only been in the business world
for about 25 years but i know.

(forgetting the moral and ethical
implications) as we say
here in the south:
'that dog dont hunt! '

Not Easy To Overcome

There are huge potentials of the markets waiting for you over there,
So why can't you take advantage of it to express yourself?
For there are no finger prints in this world which are the same,
But the masters are not easy to overcome.

Show up to the course and be very objective and realistic to your muse,
And bring out a constructive commitment towards your goals!
For writing is like a skill which has an artistic roll to play always,
But the masters are not easy to overcome.

Aim at the potential markets around you and try to get there!
For i will meet you when you get there;
But breaking through these markets will let you feel heaven right here on earth!
All the same, the masters are not easy to overcome.

These huge potentials of these markets are what you need,
But criticise me if i am wrong;
For the true potentials of your talents are what makes up the markets,
And you need a break through to satisfy your muse with your mind!
But the masters are not easy to overcome.

From Among The Sands

from among the sands of the shore
and you must accept there are trillions and trillions of them there

you have the guts to tell all of them
that you are not like them

that you are this diamond
admired by emerald and sapphire
and that gold is inferior

the mighty sun shines everyday above the trillions of your kind &
it is not bothered at all

it does not know you &
finds nothing significant about your claim for self-claim for glamor & glitter

need i tell you Mr. grain of sand
that a grain of sand is and will always be a good-for-nothing grain of sand?

Fearing a Slip of a Greatness Sipped

Trillions they owe.
Trillions are owed to them.
And still they encourage everyone,
To spend spend spend.

A tragedy born of plastic.
With a dramatic loss of elasticity.
Strained by concepts and poor decisions.
This has created an overwhelming deformity.

Even turnips have been sucked,
Of the blood they bleed.

Not millions or billons but trillions they owe.
Indebted to the flow of greed.
With a selfish need bestowed.

And fearing a slip of a greatness sipped,
A diminishing surrounds and grows!
Down from the top the drifting is real quick.
But a slickness of deceit...
Has been removed their grip!
