Lao Tzu

Men’s Fate Hangs

She wears what you mind
And throws what you frown at.
As she wears you mind her
And as she throws you accept,
Her looks stay graceful.
She threw her gems, jewels,
Clothes, virginity, fidelity,
And next in wait is her husband,
And still standing graceful.
Man is accepting what she dictates.

Weight of the Wind

The wind carries much more than we see
It carries a lot of what makes you and me
The wind blows and carries lies
Around the world it carries cries

We don't hear nor see any of these things
We don't know or feel what the wind brings
The wind carries the wishes and dreams
The wind carries promises down streams

On it lays our secrets we hold inside
Also the love for others we try to hide
It carries so much oh how I wish to know
With all that weight how can the wind blow?

Grammar of beauty

The stress long, jet black, tightly plaited,
The eyes, fish like, black, brows blackened,
The face, moon shaped, yellow, with red lips,
And the bosom massive were once of beauty.
Jewels and silk in profuse adorned every part.

Short cut, dishevelled, unoiled is the hair,
Eyes and lips are kept in subdue with out paints,
The face of any shape, stripped of blush,
And the toned body are now taken for beauty.
Coarse garments without jewels adorn.

With the yellow skin, also came in dusky skin.
Plumpness went out and thinness came in.
Why is this somersault in beauty grammar?
Fashion is invented by the upper one and
Is caught by others to identify with the upper

Loves Got A Hold On You

(keith stegall/carson chamberlain)
I called my doctor on the telephone
Help me doc theres something wrong
I cant shake it its gone too far
He said tell me what your symptoms are
I said my hands are sweaty and my knees are weak
I cant eat and I cant sleep
Its turning me every way but loose
He said it sounds like loves got a hold on you
No doubt loves got a hold on you
I told my buddies I was settlin down
No more of this running round
They looked at me like I was a fool
And said come on tell us whats wrong with you
I said my hands are sweaty and my knees are weak
I cant eat and I cant sleep
Its turning me every way but loose
He said it sounds like loves got a hold on you
No doubt loves got a hold on you
Well I tossed and turned til the morning light
Holding my pillow hanging on for life
There aint nothing I can do
They said it sounds like loves got a hold on you
Sounds like loves got a hold on you
My hands are sweaty and my knees are weak
I cant eat and I cant sleep
Its turning me every way but loose
He said it sounds like loves got a hold on you
Sounds like loves got a hold on you
Sounds like loves got a hold on you
No doubt loves got a hold on you

Fashion Passion

In days of yore the dandies wore
embroidered clothes in colours gay.
Fine velvets, silks and coarse tussore.
The current fashions of the day.

Each dandy felt he must display
Like peacocks vying for a mate.
No price they thought too high to pay
Their refined taste to demonstrate..

Beau Brummel won everlasting fame.
By wearing only black and white.
He was a master at the game
and in due course he was proved right.

The followers of fashion fail.
One style cannot suit everyone,
the latest trends grow quickly stale.
So set a style that’s yours alone.

Ignore the experts pointedly
as they ignore your shape and size.
No need to dress expensively.
You wear what suits you if you’re wise.

The Clothing of Faith

She took her Heart and placed it in a bottle
because it was reserved for only him.
She took her Soul and placed upon it a sign
that said 'occupado.'

All her going-out clothes she didn't need
she placed in moth balls,
gave some to her sister.

Her mother said
'What are you doing? '
She would always smile and say 'I won't be using these
until he returns.'

Her ring she placed in the sugar bowl
covering it with sweet sugar grains
putting it high
on a shelf that no one used.

She honey-dipped all her kisses
lining them up
in her Honey-Dew Kisses Pot.

Her friends said 'what are you doing-
he may never return.'

She said, 'oh yes he will and I will need these.'

She took everything,
wrapping them in her Faith Cloth
taking them out only at night
when no one was around.

Each glowed in that dark;
each drew Faith from the Faith Cloth
which covered her Hope Chest
which contained the photos, the ring
they hummed
all through her night.

He would come or he would not
but these gifts he'd already given

filled her heart
renewing it
underneath
the Faith Cloth
which warmed
her and her memories.

The Second Poem

the woman wears a long gown
covering her toes
she veils her face and neck
there is no way that you can see
her veins
her back is covered with
fox hair
she wears gloves and her
mouth is covered with
silk cloth
she looks like a mummy
though fashionable in some sense
less the context of
death

get nearer she has a very
important matter to reveal

Fake Plastic Trees

Her green plastic watering can
For her fake chinese rubber plant
In the fake plastic earth
That she bought from a rubber man
In a town full of rubber plans
To get rid of itself.
It wears her out
It wears her out
It wears her out
It wears her out
She lives with a broken man,
A cracked polystyreneman
Who just crumbles and burns
He used to do surgery
For girls in the eighties
But gravity always wins.
And it wears him out
It wears him out
It wears him out
It wears...
She looks like the real thing.
She tastes like the real thing,
My fake plastic love
But I cant help the feeling
I could blow through the ceiling
If I just turn and run.
And it wears me out
It wears me out
It wears me out
It wears me out
If I could be who you wanted
If I could be who you wanted
All the time
All the time.

The Thought Of You

I dream of a love that can trancend time,
Pure, simple and uncomplicated,
Where passion conquers hesitation,
And carries you closer to me,
Where I hear your voice and my soul is calmed,
Love's dream carries me to new heights,
For in loves sweet embrace I am invincible,
Together we shall ride shooting stars,
I am you and you are me, we are all there is,
I hold your heart within my hands and I tremble,
Dare I forget the very thought of you?
For if I should... I would surely be undone...

Spread the love... The peace will follow...

The Old Army Blanket

Coarse and ruff quite often thread bare
The soldier did not seem to care
Let the enemy try to take if he dare;
Coarse and ruff quite often thread bare

Driving rain or snow wearing his blanket
Coarse and ruff quite often thread bare.
Being a soldier he could expect no better fare,
Coarse and ruff, quite often thread bare

His fight done, read over with a prayer
Wrapped in the old grey Army blanket
Coarse and ruff quite often thread bare.
He did his duty few could compare,
Coarse and ruff, quite often thread bare
