Well, rather than to give you my impression on Los Angeles, per se, my older sister's husband is and American, therefore I have a pretty good idea of the, perhaps the characteristics of Americans in general.

Sister's Are Good Friends
Even if she is not a real sister to me,
And even if she was not around to see me get awards and graduate,
She is like a sister to me, teaching me to cook,
She always cares if I ate that day or not.
Sometimes too protective- but we have a lot of fun,
Not all days are filled with sun constantly-
We argue at times and swear we are done talking-
She treatens to not talk in general at all and I just say I want talk to her-
But we both understand that will never be the case
We will be there in winter, spring, summer, and fall.
I am protective over her at time, I will call just to make sure she is safe.
She will get me to stay in,
When I have no one to go with by saying it is her law as a older sister.
Though hard to understand she is hard on me like a blister-
But there is never a doubt she does it out of love
unlike a lot of people who liked to be called mrs. or mr.
Good sisters are like close friends- they give love like a lot of doves,
But always are looking out for each other
And if they are older and you live in a cold state make you wear gloves
Whether by blood or heart- they are a gift from above.

Los Angeles
I met a man
He was a good man
Sailing and shoring
Dancing the beta can-can
Making me foreign
Oh yeah
I want to live in los angeles
Not the one in los angeles
No, not the one in south california
The got one in south patagonia
I want to live in los angeles
Not the one in los angeles
They got a bunch down in moleville
They got a bunch more still
I want to live in los angeles
Not the one is los angeles
They got one in twenty-five two five
Works just like a beehive
I want to live in los angeles
Not the one in los angeles
Counting helicopters on a saturday night
The symphony of the fair light
I hear them saying los angeles
In all the black and white movies
And if you think they star-spangled us
How come we say los angeleez?
Ill wait in los angeles
Ill wait in the pouring sun
No way
For not anyone
No way
I met a man
He was a good man
Sailing and shoring
He got a betatron, man
Talking that foreign
Oh yeah
Ill wait in los angeles
Ill wait in the pouring sun
No way
For not anyone
No way

I think American men are more conscious of putting up a good impression. There's more of an earthiness to Englishmen. But Americans aren't afraid to come up and say, 'Hi, I'd like to go out with you.' Englishmen are far more sheepish about it.

I miss my twin sister
My twin sister...
Many people said like that to us
Even, we are not coming from the same dad and mom
But our figure are almost the same
I remember when the time she visit me and my husband
My tears came up from my eyes
I don't know why i did that
Maybe because i need her to share my feeling
I need her to hear my story
You lend me everything
You lend me your books
You lend me your Bible
You lend me your dress
You give many precious gifts to me
You lend me your husband to take me
You lend me your husband to hear my sharing
I am sorry my sister, I know i hurt you
But, i never want to replace your place
He is your King
and You are his Queen
No one can't doubt me for that
Please, smile for me
You look so pretty with that dress
He is so lucky to have you
Pray for me.... so i can live my life with smile
Los Angeles
City of glam, city of crime
People are fake, you're no friend of mine
Club fights, dancing through the night
We're kids living the dream under the lights
We're in Los Angeles
Dancing through the night in Los Angeles
Hollywood trash in Los Angeles
Being ourselves in Los Angeles
Never losing Los Angeles
City of High, city of low
Selling drugs, we're losing our souls
Walking the strip with one goal
We're gonna live our dream, no one can stop us all
We're in Los Angeles
Dancing through the night in Los Angeles
Hollywood trash in Los Angeles
Being ourselves in Los Angeles
Never losing Los Angeles
Girls in my world
Music in my ears
Pain in my tears
Rock in my veins
Nothing in my brain
I think i'm going insane
That's all i need in Los Angeles
We're in Los Angeles
Dancing through the night in Los Angeles
Hollywood trash in Los Angeles
Being ourselves in Los Angeles
Never losing Los Angeles
We're in Los Angeles
Dancing through the night in Los Angeles
Hollywood trash in Los Angeles
Being ourselves in Los Angeles
Never losing Los Angeles

The Generals
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'Oh must we fight this silly war?
To kill and die is such a bore.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'We could go to the beach today
And have some ice cream on the way.'
'A grand idea,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'But what if the sea is closed today?
And what if the sand's been blown away?'
'A dreadful thought,' said General Clay.
Said General Gore to General Clay,
'I've always feared the ocean's spray,
And we may drown!' 'It's true, we may.
It chills my blood,' said General Clay.
Said General Clay to General Gore,
'My bathing suit is slightly tore.
We'd better go on with our war.'
'I quite agree,' said General Gore.
Then General Clay charged General Gore
As bullets flew and cannons roared.
And now, alas! there is no more
Of General Clay or General Gore.

Said General Clay to General Gore really must we fight this silly war
To kill and die in such a bore I quite agree said General Gore
Said General Gore to General Clay we could go to the beach today
And have some icecream on the way a grand idea said General Clay
Said General Clay to General Gore we'll build sand castles on the shore
Said General Gore we'll splash and play let's leave right now said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay but what if the sea's closed today
And what if the sand's been blown away the dreadful thought said General Clay
Said General Gore to General Clay I've always feared the ocean's spray

Older Sister
(carly simon)
She rides in the front seat, shes my older sister
She knows her power over me
She goes to bed an hour later than I do
When she turns the lights out
What does she think about?
And what does she do in the daylight
That makes her so great?
Oh but to be, oh but to be, oh but to be, Id like to be
My older sister
She flies throught the back door, shes my older sister
She throws french phrases round the room
She has ice skates and legs that fit right in
Shes wicked to all the beaming dreamers
Wholl later boast of an evening
By her fiery side
Oh but to be, oh but to be, oh but to be, Id like to be
My older sister
And in her black gymnastic tights
She runs into some elastic nights
Sophisticated sister sings for the
Soldiers of the soccer team
Their silver i.d.s and sororities
They tinker with love in their model ts
Oh lord, wont you let me be her for just one day
She turns everybodys heads
While I wear her last years threads
With patches and stitches and a turned up hem
Oh, but to be, oh but to be, Id like to be, just once to be
My older sister

Pretty woman
Pretty woman.
But wife is beautiful.
Pretty woman is hot.
But wife is the sexiest.
Pretty woman is just for sex.
But a wife is to make love.
Wife is a forbidden fruit.
To you and all.
and wife is more caring.
Be at home and by her husband.
and wife is the husband diamond.
And the husband love making love to her.
That no other women can.
Make him feel so good.
and her husband always in love.
With her.
And wife is the husband success.
Loving and warm full happiness.
She bears our children. And
She is the most gifted darling.

I have maya for mother in law
I have Maya for mother-in-law,
the world for father-in-law;
three brothers-in-law, like tigers;
and the husband’s thoughts
are full of laughing women;
no god, this man,
And I cannot cross the sister-in-law.
But I will
give this wench the slip
and go cuckold my husband with
Hara, my Lord.
My mind is my maid:
by her kindness, I join
my Lord,
my utterly beautiful Lord
from the mountain peaks,
my lord white as jasmine,
and I will make Him
my good husband

Getting Away With It
As if your crack pot idea will actually work..
'I'm telling you it will.'
'Just tell them and watch it unfold.'
'And amidst the chaos.'
'We will be able to take what I want.'
What if I was to say I no longer want it, not that way.
I'm not a thief.
'Yes you are now.'
'You got no choice.'
'Either you do this, or I tell her of your indiscretions.'
You think she will forgive you for sleeping with her little sister.
'A picture says a thousand words.'
'I wonder what the caption under this one would be? '
'Hmm, how about my husband is a bastard and my sister is a filthy whore.'
You will not get away with it.
'But I will, and if I don't neither will you.'

Soul Sister
Soul sister
You are my soul sister
That God gave to me
And in return God gave you
A soul Brother
That is me
Soul sister
Take god care of yourself
Soul sister
Give yourself a treat once
But don't do it all the time
Because too many treats are not good
And you can end up even being a diebetic like me
Soul sister
God loves you and I
Soul sister
We will grow old someday
Soul sister
Lets give a hand to a senior
Soul sister
Lets worship God together
Soul sister
There are people out there that will hurt us
But we have to keep our eyes open for that
Soul sister
Lets take good care of the earth
That God gave to us
Soul sister
Money doesn't grow on trees
And that is why we have to learn to save money also
Soul sister
Our spirit is alive
And it will be alive each day
That we live our lives here on earth
Soul sister
God bless you
Wherever you are today and always

First Impression
(taylor, rhodes, le bon, cuccurrullo, campbell)
(a rock-n-roll star)
He turns on the animal, its that time of day,
Here comes little johnny from the back streets of the uk
Hes got the answer it doesnt go away
Hes gonna treat you right
Yeah hes gonna change the world tonight (world tonight)
The lasting first impression, is what youre looking for!
I said oh!,
Is that your first impression?
And is that good enough for you?
He dont want illusions
A power glory ride,
Doesnt run with the neighborhood shadows -
Wanna let your body slide
He wont give up, and he wont give in
And he wont let up until he gets inside your pretty skin
(I said ohh!)
(chorus)
He turns on the animal its that time of day,
To make a little honey in the backstreets of the uk
And he loves the noise, and he loves to play
Just living here and now boys cuz tomorrows on the way
(I said ohh!)
(chorus)
Good enough for you, (good enough for you)
Enough for you, (enough for you)
And is that good enough for you?
Good enough for you, (good enough for you)
Enough for you, (enough for you)
And is that good enough for you?
The possibility
Seize the possibility
To seize the opportunity
To seize the possibility
To turn on the animal
I said oh!
(chorus) (chorus)
Good enough for you, (good enough for you)
Enough for you, (enough for you)
And is that good enough for you?
Good enough for you, (good enough for you)
Enough for you, (enough for you)
And is that good enough for you...?

Gertrude Stein is interviewed on American poetry
and there was the knocking on the door
that we were expecting
and it was the man
that we were expecting
with the questions we were expecting
to which answers were expected
by those who expect answers
as if life were like that
which for writers it is not
yes, tea was drunk
and after tea the tape recorder set up
so that what I said
I would continue to say
somewhere else
even when I changed my mind
here and nowhere else
and he said Ms Stein
what do you think of American poetry
and we said well it's American
and it's poetry
that's as it should be
and really that's all there is to say
and the man looked disappointed
so we asked him did he read poetry
and he said poetry no I dont read poetry
but my editor does
so I said it's really about Americans
living their lives
that's what American poetry is really about
because Americans move around
and so their words move around and
words in English have lost their intensity
but American words are always on the move
and they are more intense
yes, Americans living among Americans
and talking to their neighbours
if it's not about that
it's not really American poetry at all is it
if it's not about that
then why bother writing poetry
and the man was asking about a rose
being a rose being a rose and we said
for a hundred years the rose
has not been red in poetry
but now for the first time in a hundred years
the rose is red again
and the man looked at his watch
and said thank you Ms Stein
and was switching off his tape recorder
and a month later that
was what we said
in a magazine much read
by Americans who mostly
are not poets no very few but we said it
we know that this is so
because we read it there
and we think that really
that was all there was to say
because that was all we think
is really important
about American Poetry
that the words move like Americans move
and that is exciting for a writer
and that is the important thing about
American Poetry

My sister My sister
My sister my sister,
Is not the best.
My sister my sister,
Oh give it a rest.
My sister my sister,
Stop with the drama.
My sister my sister,
Dumb as a llama.
My sister my sister,
I'm not supposed to see.
My sister my sister,
Dumb as can be.

Have I made you proud? (Revised And Final) ~Story about my real sister
My older sister
Smart she was
She excelled where I failed
English was her very great love.
Always correcting my mistakes
When she lived among us.
She ending up leaving in handcuffs
Being a runaway because you don't care for your family.
Adopted by an Aunt Named Cruelia
Every time I saw her my face turned to a pale yellow.
Never allowing a kid to be a kid.
Stealing the money my sister made
Making her both a slave in heart and the mined.
Upon 18 she was free.
She dropped out of high school
Just to get away.
An evil charade
It was over.
She told me at one time that she would go back and get her g.e.d. if I did mine.
I'm here to tell you my older sister I got it, now where's yours.
You think I got talent
I pale in comparison to her.
Always grammatically correct
Every word written so perfect.
She makes some authors look like chumps.
But she gave up.
Living by other mens proceeds.
Is the way it is now
With two children you have
I have to ask you my older sister
Have I made you proud?
We don't talk no more
You slept with my best friend
His name being Arrogance
You left in a family dispute
With a dog I could never call my own
With cats set free
Good luck to them so it be
Bills unpaid
Debt enslaved
False claims too blame
Anyone but yourself
Come with me you said, I'll give you a place with my friend
Well how did that work out in the end
A built in babysitter
Your ex-husband trained you well
I'm sorry my sister but that is not my hell
We were a pair
Who worked out of pure despair
Watch the kids, and cut down the trees
For a living must be made, even in happiest parade
I thank you for everything
But don't expect me to call on you
For if I'm in trouble
I'll face it alone
Rather then being a slave to the unknown.
A sister who knows no love
With this shelter you offered from above
An unorganized mess
I'm making progress
Slowly conforming to what this society desires from me
So again
Have I made you proud?
You speak of my job as if wasn't one at all
You try to get your boyfriend in by betraying and robbing me
I do have dignity.
I'll turn away
But remember I still love you
Even with indifference that surrounds me
My last thought will of you and others
Tear drops fall when think of all you have done
And what you become
So again
Have I made you proud?
You are jealous
And I don't know even why
With so many questions I look to the sky
My relationship with my mother
You want it
But how can I give somebody else that?
If I could if I would
But it just not the way of things
We have our fights just like everybody else
I think your being a little selfish
But still I ask
Have I made you proud?

Thats My Impression
(tennant/lowe)
------------
I went looking for someone I couldnt find
Staring at faces by the serpentine
Walking slowly, I realised
Youd been and gone - I know you lied
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
The wind was chilly and the sky was dull
I went for shelter to the temple
Once inside I couldnt believe my eyes
Youd been and gone - I know you lied
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Go to a club - you think Ill be there
I dont go cause Im not a member
You said you went to apologise
Its plain to me thats one more lie
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression (impression)
Thats my impression
I went looking for someone I couldnt find
Staring at faces by the serpentine
Walking slowly, I realised
Youd been and gone - I know you lied
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Thats my impression
Its an expression
And a suggestion
I learned my lesson
Thats my impression
Thats my impression (impression)
Thats my impression
Thats my impression (impression)
I learned my lesson
I went looking for someone I couldnt find
Staring at faces by the serpentine
Walking slowly I - realised
Youd been and gone - I know
You lied - thats my impression
I know you lied
And thats my impression
Thats my impression
My impression
Thats my impression
