Getting Older
it's nine o'clock
i'm getting tired
i'm sick of all my records
and the clothes i bought today
am i cracking up
or just getting older?
staying in
i can't be bothered
making conversation
with the friends that i don't know
am i cracking up
or just getting older?
and i bet that this is how life
turns out when you're finally grown
and you know if this my life
sit around all day on my own
i'm halfway up to the bottom
of another bottle
of my next best favourite friend
am i cracking up
or just getting older?
you're not cracking up
you're just getting older
we're not cracking up
we're just getting older

When I was a kid, I was surrounded by girls: older sisters, older girl cousins just down the street... except for an older boy named Vito who threw rocks. Each year I would wish for a baby brother. It never happened.

Older And Older Into More Darkness And Loneliness
OLDER AND OLDER INTO MORE DARKNESS AND LONELINESS
Older and older into more darkness and loneliness,
The friends are not here.
Life has so much grief and pain
Will we ever see them again?
Could we have been kinder?
Less without them, we long and go on.

OLDER WOMEN...by Talile Ali
NOW THAT IM OLDER
ALL I HAVE TO SAY
MY VIEW OF WOMEN'S MORPHED
IN SUCH BEAUTIFUL WAYS
OLDER CHICKS ARE LOOKING HOTTER
DOUBLE THE PLEASURE AT HALF THE SPEED
OH YES
OLDER WOMEN ARE BEST
OH YES
NORTH SOUTH EAST AND WEST
I AINT ASHAMED HERE
BABY, KNOW MY DESIGNS
I WANT ME AN OLDER WOMAN
EACH AND EVERY TIME
DOESN'T MATTER HOW OLD
SO LONG AS SHE'S FIT AND HOT
AND GOT A RACK THAT WON'T QUIT
AND BOUNCES A WHOLE LOT
MAYBE LAST BUT NOT LEAST
WHEN SHE DOES ME SHE'S A BEAST
OLDER WOMEN ARE FUN
WITH THEM YOU HAVE A FEAST
DEEP IN THEIR EYE'S
A UNIVERSE REALIZED
KNOWLEDGE BACKING THAT MUSCLE
BETWEEN THOSE INCREDIBLE THIGHS

What I am finding now is that my audience is getting younger as I get older, which is a very good thing as you know - you don't want them to get older as you get older.

Cold On The Sholder
All you need is time
All you need is time, time, time to make me bend
Give it a try, don't be rude
Put it to the test and I'll give it right back to you
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day
Kick it around, take it to town
Try to defy what you feel inside
You better be strong
Your love belongs to us
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day
All I need is trust
All I need is trust, trust, trust to make it show
I don't want to know everything you done
If you get a tip then tell it to the eskimos
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day
All we need is faith
All we need is faith, faith, faith to make it nice
Kick it around, don't be rude
If you're gonna make a mistake don't you make it twice
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day
It's cold on the shoulder
And you know that we get a little older every day

Change The Weather
Come with me
To the bright white flame
That you knew by name
And you will again
Take my hand
We're getting out of here
No more time for tears
For the wasted years
No more crumble in the night
No more tears on an empty pillow
Voices out of sight cryin' hard - runnin' scared
No more tears in the gloom
No more gurus that I just can't follow
Older than a heart beat
Older than the sun
If I die before I go this is the way
Older than a heartbeat
Older than the sun
And hands
How she loved those hands
Now she could not stand
To be near that man
So she turned
To the bright white flame
That she knew by name
Now there'd be no pain
I am the river that goes on and one
On into the sea
It carries you away

The Bent And The Broken
THE BENT AND THE BROKEN
The bent and the broken
And the mind-lost and the mad
Canes walkers wheelchairs
Irritable angry sad.
Older and older
Sadder and more sad
I am growing older
How can life be glad?

Older Than dirt, Dumb As A Rock
Older than dirt
Dumb as a rock
That’s what I’ve been called
And it comes as no shock
Cause I have gotten older
And I have gotten dumber
And I possibly could have seen
My very last summer
But I don’t regret getting’ dumber
And I know getting’ older is tough
What I do regret tho’…
is not getting’ enough

I saw a very old man
I saw a very old man very old indeed
older than any man
older than the hills and the seas
older than the planet earth to be sure
and who knows
it was he per haps
who witnessd the big bang
The sun and moon are his eyes
one is aburning in a huff
another is mellowed with mercy and kindness
and the, mans matted hair is hardly visible
T he astronomers may have seen it inthe vision of
the G reat Attractor
Everyone can find the old man
particularly when a cloudladen sky isrocked by an angry storm

Older They Grow But Not Up
Older they grow,
But not up!
Many never experience a maturity.
Raised on entertaining limited thoughts.
And few have abilities,
To comprehend little of what they read.
Or take the responsibility,
To hold themselves accountable...
For actions begun and those they leave.
Older they grow,
But not up!
And demands they make,
To satisfy their spoiled ways.
Since no one around them wants to hear them fuss.
Realizing not one of those fussers who also cuss,
Wants to take a position,
To make a decisive decision.
Since accusations are prioritized in their lives lived,
As a must.
And expectations are less for them.
For those exposed to them growing older...
Knowing these minds have no time left.
For them to show a growing up,
With a thoughtfulness.
Older they may grow...
But for them it sure is not up!

The Ruler Knows Us
You are three years older than Emmanuel,
And you are three years and eight months older than i am;
But Emmanuel is eight months older than i am.
This is like the game of ages around us,
But the Ruler knows us all;
And He knows when someone is born and when someone will die,
For this all about His works on this earth.

Dear Eloise
(clarke / hicks / nash)
Dear eloise, I am writing to say
A number of funny thing I heard today.
I heard that hes left you and run off to sea.
Could be the best thing thats happened to me.
Writing a letter to make you feel better.
Sorry to hear that he left you that way.
I could have told you, he was much older,
So much older than you.
You rushed blindly, he treated you kindly
Until he found out what he could get from you.
You should have departed before he got started.
Now youve been burned just like I said you would.
Please read my letter closely.
Its beneficial, too.
You must read in-between the lines,
A message you will see.
If you use your mind, youll find
I want you back with me.
Verse 2
So much older than you, so much older than you.
Chorus

I’m an Older Man Than You
WHEN you’ve managed with the tailor for a rig-out of a sort
And you find the coat or trousers are an inch or so too short,
Do not fret and swear and worry, make the tailor see you through—
I have been through many new suits, I’m an older man than you.
When your girl is interfering with your appetite and work,
With your sleep and time and reason till the jealous demons lurk;
When your girl is playing with you, leave her for a week or two:
If in vain, then quit for ever!—I’m an older man than you.
When your wife deceives or leaves you for a “blackguard”, “brute”, and “sot”,
And when not a soul believes you when you say that you were not;
Do not rave or brood and weaken, and the years will prove you true,
Let your own self be the beacon!—I’m an older man than you.
Do not take a silly mistress in your vanity accursed,
And a second wife (or husband) but reminds you of the first;
Banish mutual friends, and pity (kill or cure relations, too),
Shun false “reconciliation”—I’m an older man than you.
Be the cause however worthy, and your case however strong,
Be your wrong however cruel, drink will put you in the wrong.
Drink will neutralize and murder all the good that time can do
(Though our birthdays come together, I’m an older man than you).
But for ever and for ever, over seas and through the lands,
Go the hand laid on the shoulder and the silent grip of hands
With a world of human feeling—men who know and men who knew:
Clear your soul of pessimism—I’m an older man than you.

Years We Wished Away
Sometimes we’d like to go back,
reclaim the years we wished away.
Reflecting on the fun,
we could have enjoyed
instead of trying to be
older than what we were.
Reclaim the years that were lost
to crazy wishes that we had,
thinking it was better to be
older than what we were.
Instead of enjoying our childhood
and the games, they play.
Now as we grow older
and our youth is what we grasp.
We wish that we were younger
in the cradle of our childhood
and all those precious times
in the years, we wished away.
