Even though this is late in an election year, there is no way we can go forward except together and no way anybody can win except by serving the people's urgent needs. We cannot stand still or slip backwards. We must go forward now together.

Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.

Plan backwards as well as forward. Set objectives and trace back to see how to achieve them. You may find that no path can get you there. Plan forward to see where your steps will take you, which may not be clear or intuitive.

Twisted Logic
Sunlight opened up my eyes
to see for the first time
it opened them up
And tonight rivers will run dry
and not for the first time
rivers will run
Hundreds of years in the future
there could be computers
looking for life on earth
Don't fight for the wrong side
say what you feel like
say how you feel
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
again
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go
Created... then drilled and invaded
If somebody made it
Someone will mess it up
And you are not wrong to
Ask who does this belong to
It belongs to one of us
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
and then
you'll go backwards
again
you'll go forwards
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
again
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
Ahhhhhhhhhh...

Trixi The Pixie
Trixi the pixie worked for Father Time,
which was just Jim-dandy fine.
One day Father Time fell asleep
and suddenly time stopped
and nothing moved anywhere.
Trixi decided what she had to do
to get things going again
and wound up the universal clock,
but when she wound it,
something went badly wrong.
Time instead of going forward
suddenly started going in reverse.
Birds started flying backwards,
things went back into holes
where they had just come from.
Cars whizzed by at an alarming rate
with drivers looking forward
and the car speeding in reverse.
Everything was retracing itself in a backward mode.
The world was in chaos
with ships steaming backwards
and their funnels steam going in instead of out.
Just at that moment, Father Time awoke
a bit dizzy as he watched the hands on his clock
spinning wildly in reverse.
Oh my, Oh my, he shouted
Trixi what have you done?
The futures going backwards
and the past is coming forward.
He pulled on the large handle of the universal clock
and everything came to an abrupt stop.
He adjusted the leaver slightly
and pushed it forward and everything rushed forward
this time at an accelerated rate.
A snail broke into speed and broke the sound barrier.
Things were getting silly again.
Everything was moving faster than they should.
Transport was finishing journeys in seconds flat.
Time was spinning well out of control.
Oh my, Oh my, Trixi what shall we do
and pulled the leaver again,
then again into reverse everything flew.
He pushed the leaver slowly forward
until normal speed was restored.
He yawned and said I am tired.
Trixi wake me in an hour
and with the way time is going
when I awake it will be next year.

Water From Wine
Ive lost my headlights
Dark lets me see too much
And Im just groping
For anything to touch
Am I a seabird
I have the strangest cry
Am I just drifting
Am I too far inside
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
I can hear thunder
But I am made of stone
Im reaching out
Im reaching out but Im still alone
I look for my body
But it just disappears
Nodody knows me
Everything feels like years
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
I look for joy
Its in the cracks sometimes
I can hear music
But its been locked inside
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
Every night owns me, nothing is holy
Every night owns me, nothing is holy

Forward
'Forward! forward!'
Rang our fathers' battle-cry.
'Forward! forward!'
Norsemen, be our watchword high!
All that fires the spirit and makes the heart's faith bright,
For that we forward go with might
And faithful fight.
'Forward! forward!'
Whoso loves a home that's free.
'Forward! forward!'
Freedom's course must ever be.
Though it shall be tested by doubt and by defeat,
Who will the losses' count repeat
When vict'ries greet?
'Forward! forward!'
Whoso trusts in Norway's day.
'Forward! forward!'
Whoso goes our fathers' way.
Hid in Northern mountains are spirit-treasures true
They shall, when dawns the morning's blue,
Come forth anew.

Treacle People
I walked through this place, although it wasnt really there
And when I reached the other side, thought I didnt really care
I moved round a bit, and started seeing people
And the people that I met, oh were all covered in treacle
Everyone was laughing, everyone except for poor old me,
So I tried to entertain them, oh but they were hard to please
As time went by, oh backwards I walked
Backwards I talked, and backwards I laughed...

The Logic Error
Sitting, hating, waiting, aching,
pushing to be pulled, working to be destroyed,
walking forward and being pulled backwards,
a mental struggle between good and evil,
the sarcasm bites like a spider injecting poision,
slow, weak, tired, scared,
i fall, and try to pull together my strength,
to pull myself to the doorway,
the floor begins to shift and wheel me backwards,
but the struggle continues,
my legs no longer work, and i have no strength,
yet i keep up with the struggle,
it feeds off of giving up, it feeds off of fear,
but i believe im stronger than that,
I believe i can overcome,
i hope this time im right,
before i maybe exhausted.

I took a little break - I was coming back to work and the last thing I was going to do was take a step backwards, so I knew that if I was going to take a feature it was going to have to be taking a step forward.
One curious thing about growing up is that you don't only move forward in time; you move backwards as well, as pieces of your parents' and grandparents' lives come to you.

I'm Walking Backwards For Christmas
I'm walking backwards for Christmas,
Across the Irish Sea,
I'm walking backwards for Christmas,
It's the only thing for me.
I've tried walking sideways,
And walking to the front,
But people just look at me,
And say it's a publicity stunt.
I'm walking backwards for Christmas,
To prove that I love you.
An immigrant lad, loved an Irish colleen
From Dublin Galway Bay.
He longed for her arms,
But she spurned his charms,
And sailed o'er the foam away
She left the lad by himself, on his own
All alone, a-sorrowing
And sadly he dreamed, or at least that's the
way it seemed, buddy,
That an angel choir did sing -
An angel choir did sing.
I'm walking backwards for Christmas,
Across the Irish Sea.
I'm walking backwards for Christmas,
It's the finest thing for me.
And so I've tried walking sideways,
And walking to the front.
But people just laughed, and said,
'It's a publicity stunt'.
So I'm walking backwards for Christmas
To prove that I love you.

Own Wholly
Nothing is holy then to own wholly
If chance is missed then it is considered as folly
Once missed then it has gone for ever
It must be seized with love and fervor
How much time it involves in affair?
No one knows how far it is fair?
But yes it is divine blessings
Showered in abundance with no missing
I had dreamed of him for such bond
As I was emotionally attached and very fond
He was equally deep in mind
I had to give in and readily find
Such an anxiety comes to an end
When that day comes literally we cease to be friends
It is starting of new relation with no excuses
Road map is defined and never confuses
One thing becomes clear
There must prevail no fear
When united with heart and attachment
It has its own sphere of glorious moment
We have been tied in nuptial knots
Time had been smooth and nothing was to be fought
It came as if we had craved together
To live for life and stay near
No step forward or backwards
Only looking ahead and forward
To carve out own kingdom
And fear separation seldom
It may look simple narration
Yet it is one of loveliest relationship
Where two hearts become one
Share feelings and hatred for none
I wished and prayed for its long duration
Not to feel bad in any of the situation
Move hand in hand and scale the height
In life everything is in order and you are never late
