Twisted Logic
Sunlight opened up my eyes
to see for the first time
it opened them up
And tonight rivers will run dry
and not for the first time
rivers will run
Hundreds of years in the future
there could be computers
looking for life on earth
Don't fight for the wrong side
say what you feel like
say how you feel
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
again
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go
Created... then drilled and invaded
If somebody made it
Someone will mess it up
And you are not wrong to
Ask who does this belong to
It belongs to one of us
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
and then
you'll go backwards
again
you'll go forwards
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
again
You'll go backwards
but then
you'll go forwards
Ahhhhhhhhhh...

Electioneering
I will stop
I will stop at nothing
Say the right things
When electioneering
I trust I can rely on your vote
When I go forwards you go backwards and somewhere we will meet
Riot shields
Voodoo economics
It's just business
Cattle prods and the IMF
I trust I can rely on your vote
When I go forwards you go backwards and somewhere we will meet

Life can be understood backwards, but we live it forwards.
Life is lived forwards, but understood backwards.
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.

I went backwards and forwards over it until I was 22. And then in the past few years I began to say to myself, OK, look, I'm not messing around. This is something I want to attack, instead of thinking, I'll just see what happens with it.

Naming of Parts
Today we have naming of parts. Yesterday,
We had daily cleaning. And tomorrow morning,
We shall have what to do after firing. But today,
Today we have naming of parts. Japonica
Glistens likecoral in all the neighboring gardens,
And today we have naming of parts.
This is the lower sling swivel. And this
Is the upper sling swivel, whose use you will see,
When you are given your slings. And this is the piling swivel,
Which in your case you have not got. The branches
Hold in the gardens their silent, eloquent gestures,
Which in our case we have not got.
This is the safety-catch, which is always released
With an easy flick of the thumb. And please do not let me
See anyone using his finger. You can do it quite easy
If you have any strength in your thumb. The blossoms
Are fragile and motionless, never letting anyone see
Any of them using their finger.
And this you can see is the bolt. The purpose of this
Is to open the breech, as you see. We can slide it
Rapidly backwards and forwards: we call this
Easing the spring. And rapidly backwards and forwards
The early bees are assaulting and fumbling the flowers:
They call is easing the Spring.
They call is easing the Spring: it is perfectly easy
If you have any strength in your thumb: like the bolt,
And the breech, the cocking-piece, and the point of balance,
Which in our case we have not got; and the almond blossom
Silent in all of the gardens and the bees going backwards and forwards,
For today we have the naming of parts.

Turpentine
Baby going down, cant look you in the eye
Where you gonna go with no place to die
My water breaks like turpentine
I survive in your sacrifice
Now you get watch
You get to watch
Now you get to watch me die
Bless my body and bless my soul
Wrap it in turpentine
Its a stare down - whatever for
I like it cold and raw
Who really knows where the ruby lies
I see all the sick reflections in your ruby eyes
And I know all you devils by your christian names
And I know all you bitches by your christian names
Now I get to watch
Now I get to watch
Now I get to watch you die
Bless my body and bless my soul
Wrap it in turpentine
..? ...
Put your head up over your legs
Count backwards from infinity
Oh oh woah
Eat the rose and the dirt it grows in
I dont even know what hole thats supposed to go in
Now youre man and you snuff at me
It stinks up now in the junkie tree
Now you get to watch
You get to watch
You get to watch me die
Bless my body and bless my soul
Wrap it in turpentine
Back and it feels like ?
Put your legs up over your head
I walk in to your suicide
Hold down suicide
I cease to exist on the christmas list
I cease to exist in the old disease
I lie right down baby give it to me
I lie right down
Nowhere to walk backwards forwards
Nowhere to walk backwards forwards
Nowhere to walk...

The Windsor Prophecy
When a holy black Swede, the son of Bob,
With a saint at his chin and a seal at his fob,
Shall not see one New-Years-day in that year,
Then let old England make good cheer:
Windsor and Bristol then shall be
Joined together in the Low-countree.
Then shall the tall black Daventry Bird
Speak against peace right many a word;
And some shall admire his coneying wit,
For many good groats his tongue shall slit.
But spight of the Harpy that crawls on all four,
There shall be peace, pardie, and war no more
But England must cry alack and well-a-day,
If the stick be taken from the dead sea.
And, dear Englond, if ought I understond,
Beware of Carrots from Northumberlond.
Carrots sown Thynne a deep root may get,
If so be they are in Somer set:
Their Conyngs mark thou; for I have been told,
They assassine when younge, and poison when old.
Root out these Carrots, O thou, whose name
is backwards and forwards always the same;
And keep thee close to thee always that name
Which backwards and forwards is almost the same.
And, England, wouldst thou be happy still,
Burn those Carrots under a Hill.

Blackness
Blackness,
And like the tougue of the learned;
But with forwards and backwards in the name of your muse!
Because you failed to answer her call,
And now she is gone forever.

Treacle People
I walked through this place, although it wasnt really there
And when I reached the other side, thought I didnt really care
I moved round a bit, and started seeing people
And the people that I met, oh were all covered in treacle
Everyone was laughing, everyone except for poor old me,
So I tried to entertain them, oh but they were hard to please
As time went by, oh backwards I walked
Backwards I talked, and backwards I laughed...

Water From Wine
Ive lost my headlights
Dark lets me see too much
And Im just groping
For anything to touch
Am I a seabird
I have the strangest cry
Am I just drifting
Am I too far inside
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
I can hear thunder
But I am made of stone
Im reaching out
Im reaching out but Im still alone
I look for my body
But it just disappears
Nodody knows me
Everything feels like years
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
I look for joy
Its in the cracks sometimes
I can hear music
But its been locked inside
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
Everythings changing
Everythings changing my mind
Im going backwards
Backwards to water from wine
Every night owns me, nothing is holy
Every night owns me, nothing is holy

Half A World Away
This could be the saddest dusk
Ive ever seen
Turn to a miracle
High alive
My mind is racing
As it always will
My hand is tired my heart aches
Im half a world away here
My head sworn
To go it alone
And hold it along
Haul it along
And hold it
Go it alone
Hold it along and hold, hold.
This lonely deep sit hollow
Im half a world
Half the world away
My shoes are gone
My life spent
I had too much to drink
I didnt think
And I i didnt think of you
I guess thats all I needed
To go it alone
And hold it along
Haul it along
And hold it
Blackbirds backwards forwards and fall and hold hold.
Oh this lonely world is wasted
Pathetic eyes high alive
Blind to the tide that turns the sea
This storm it came up strong
It shook the trees
And blew away our fear
I couldnt even hear
To go it alone
And hold it along
Haul it along
And hold it
To go it alone
And hold it along
Haul it along
To go it alone
And hold it along
Haul it along
And hold it
Blackbirds backwards forwards and fall and hold hold.
This could be the saddest dusk
Ive ever seen
Turn to a miracle
High alive
My mind is racing
As it always will
My hands tired my heart aches
Im half a world away and go.

Other projects later this year, but I think it's going to be a very very busy year this year with Star Wars and the re-release, so I'm sort of running about going backwards and forwards to America, Japan, Mexico. So there will be a lot of things to do.

This Thing Called Life
Born and bred
young and old
weak and strong
timid and bold.
War and peace
rich and poor
poverty and wealth
less and more.
Happy and sad
up and down
cry and laugh
smile and frown.
Right and wrong
yes and no
backwards and forwards
high and low.
Sight and sound
dark and light
silence and noise
day and night.
Love and hate
life and death
chained or free
final breath.

1883
1883,
With my mind moving backwards and forwards;
And like Shaka Zulu!
But i now understand why i am still looking for my lover.
'Blood River'!
And of many who died and left us;
But why is the world like that at times?
They came and took the gold away,
They came and took the slaves away,
They came and took the diamonds away,
And of the wars that killed many!
But i will always look for my lover no matter what.

A man with a half volition goes backwards and forwards, and makes no way on the smoothest road a man with a whole volition advances on the roughest, and will reach his purpose, if there be even a little worthiness in it. The man without a purpose is like a ship without a rudder - a waif, a nothing, a no man. Have a purpose in life and having it, throw such strength of mind and muscle into your work as God has given you.

Coat of Paint
I've heard all about it and,
I'm very pleased with you;
But backwards and forwards like a new coat of paint on the walls.
'Operation Geronimo'!
And there was blood all over like 'Hell-Fire-Rockets'! ! !
But your 'GBU-12 Bombs' are well noted,
And like a new coat of paint on the walls.
