He who eats and drinks with the rich leaves the table hungry.

Hunger Strike
Temple Of The Dog) (New Castle, United Kingdom, 2/22/92)
I don't mind...
>From the mouth of decadence...
But I can't feed on the powerless when my cup's already overfilled...
But it's on the table, the fire's cookin'...
And the starvin' babies, and the slaves are out workin'...
But it's on the table, the mouths are chokin'...
But I'm goin' hungry...I'm goin' hungry...
I'm goin' hungry...I'm goin' hungry

Epigram - Frank Carves Very Ill
Frank carves very ill, yet will palm all the meats;
He eats more than six, and drinks more than he eats.
Four pipes after dinner he constantly smokes,
And seasons his whiffs with impertinent jokes:
Yet sighing, he says we must certainly break,
And my cruel unkindness compels him to speak,
For of late I invite him - but four times a week.

Hungry, Lost, Afraid!
what child is this
that haunts my night,
leaves me sleepless,
and filled with anguish?
those eyes staring at me
across the miles of darkness...
hungry, lost, afraid....
i cannot shake this image,
this feeling eats at my soul....
who are you?
where are you?
what can i do to help?

The Dark Temptation
When the sweet dish
just melts in one’s mouth
one then tends to cherish
the tasty chocolate mousse
When one drinks milkshake
especially the chocolate one
one says, ”What a tasty make! ”
and asks” How was it done? ”
When one eats a chocolate cake
they say, ”The cake was damn good”
they ask”Please tell us how it was baked
So that we can make it if we could”
But what is the main ingredient
in these superb deserts?
“Its chocolate”- THE BRILLIANT
that adds magic to these deserts
the dish then due to chocolate
becomes a temptation
and even though one is not hungry to eat a plate
he cannot undergo any restrictions
As just the sight of chocolate
makes one’s mouth to water
one is just then unable to stop oneself
and eats it like a mad-eater
It’s the taste, the taste that makes it different
the taste that’s beyond description
Hence chocolate is and will be and will always be meant
to be:

A Place At His Table
Almighty God Loves All His Children
He leaves no one hungry nor in the cold
All have a place to sit ‘round His Table
As it is not in His Nature to withhold

I'm Not Going Hungry
I'm not going hungry anymore
Your sweet love's what I've been hungry for
But since we locked our hearts together now my table set forever
I'm not going hungry anymore.
Happiness is where you are and that's all I need to know
I'm gonna plant a tree of love and just sit back and watch it grow
I'm giving loving everything I've got I'm striking while the iron is hot
I'm not going hungry anymore.
I'm giving loving everything I've got I'm striking while the iron is hot
I'm not going hungry anymore
I'm not going hungry anymore.

A Day And Date
Nests to birds and holes to foxes,
Of the olive oil and honey on my table;
But in the obscurity of darkness,
The harvest time is very great.
Unmarked graves,
The choicest wine at the beginning of love;
There is a day and a date for everyone.
Of the rich man's table and the poor man's table,
Like homes without numbers to compare with these graves;
But you need ten silver coins to reach my home.
A fig tree with leaves and the horse-walk of things,
You need a 'pencilcure' act to note my mind;
And from 'dreamontology' to 'dondoorlogy'to what is prepared.
The king and the Queen do seek for me,
But i am always missing out of their sites;
Since i do have a day and a date on my lovers heart.

Ring the bells for whoever eats snails and drinks water, because he's dead.

Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth. I sat at a table where were rich food and wine in abundance, and obsequious attendance, but sincerity and truth were not; and I went away hungry from the inhospitable board.

Crumbs Off The Table
(sherrie payne / ronald dunbar / edith wayne)
Ooh, hoo
Get up in the morning
bout a quarter to nine
Get home in the evenin
Too tired to make time
Give me the lovin
Ive been waiting for all day
Youre always a little too tired
To ever look my way
You got me hungry for your love
But you, you aint able
All you want to give me
Is the crumbs off the table
What you been doin?
Who you been wooin?
Tell me, tell me who you been doin?
I ache inside
With a lovin desire
But youre too tired, baby
To light my fire
I work in this house all day
And I get tired too
There aint a day goes by
I aint willing to make love to you
Im hungry for your love
But you, you aint able
All you want to give me
Is the crumbs off the table, ah
What you been doin?
Who you been wooin?
Tell me, tell me, tell me who you been doin?
Hey, sometimes in the middle of the day
I get lovin you on my mind
But as soon as you get home
You read the paper
Aint got the time
What you been doin?
Who you been wooin?
Tell me, tell me, who you been doin?
What you been doin?
Who you been wooin?
Tell me, tell me, tell me who you been doin?
I said Im hungry for your lovin
But you, you aint able
All you want to give me is the crumbs off the table
Hungry for your love
But you

Hollywood
Orange and yellow and purple and green
The lights of the city at night set the scene
Stumble through the bars of forget-me-not lane
Sparkle through the glitter but dont show the pain
In hollywood
Underneath a golden palm tree
Hollywood
Come to the party the drinks are on me
For free
Heartbeats echo through a cavern of love
Come to the tavern Ill meet you up above
Soaring through the heavens, what a fabulous ride
But everybodys heading for the same place to hide
In hollywood
Underneath a golden palm tree
Hollywood
Come to the party the drinks are on me
For free
The drinks on me
For free
The drinks on me
For free
The drinks on me
The drinks on me
The drinks on me
The drinks on me

Experience
THE world was made when a man was born,
He must taste for himself the forbidden springs;
He can never take warning from old-fashion'd things;
He must fight as a boy, he must drink as a youth,
Of the friend of his soul; he must laugh to scorn
The hints of deceit in a woman's eyes--
They are clear as the wells of Paradise.
And so he goes on till the world grows old,
Till his toung has grown cautious, his heart has grown cold,
Till the smile leaves his mouth, till the ring leaves his laugh,
And he shirks the bright headache you ask him to quaff.
He grows formal with men, and with women polite,
And distrustful of both when they're out of his sight.
Then he eats for his palate and drinks for his head,
And loves for his pleasure,--and 'tis time he was dead.
