Deep rivers move with silent majesty, shallow brooks are noisy.

Alluring Brooks
Comely brooks are fine with an alluring kindness,
Beleaguering the brain with beautiful uprising;
These small rivers infect the daily activity,
Brooding on our minds like a becoming reason.
Shy, reserved rivers think like things that enable being,
Being concentrates with a redolent appeal
Like the small rivers of a summery day
Called brooks of divine authority,
Sempiternal water of the mind, feelings are same.

Shallow Grave
When I fall in endless sleep
I hope that I'll be buried deep
Let me be the one that fortune favours
Even good children got shallow graves
Throw another clown to the lions
Throw another Joan on the blaze
Cast me away on the cruel calm ocean
and leave me for days and days and days and days and days
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
I won't lie, I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Bless the poor 'cos like the rich
They all end up in a ditch
In this world of fools and knaves
Even good children got shallow graves
The tinker, the tailor, the fabulous five
Nobody gets out of this alive
Chorus
Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Dig me down deep where the dead men sleep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave
Dig me down, dig me down, dig me down deep
I won't lie in this poor shallow grave

Slow Rivers (feat. Elton John)
The weather man, he looks confused.
Shakes his fist at the sky like you used to do.
But you don't remember things like that, do you?
The balance was uneven but i'm breaking through.
Slow rivers run cold,
Shallow waters never sank so low.
I thought i'd drown and you'd never know,
You're a slow river and you run so cold.
The winter here don't belive in god,
The bitter wind just bites through me like a wild dog.
I still see in your eyes tonight like headlights through the fog,
But one foot in your door, oh that's all i ever got.
Slow rivers run cold,
Shallow waters never sank so low.
I thought i'd drown and you'd never know,
You're a slow river and you run so cold.
Chances are you'll reappear.
Swim my way in a flood of tears,
No place to hide your conscience
So you're a sinking ship with no place to go.
Slow rivers run cold,
Shallow waters never sank so low.
I thought i'd drown and you'd never know,
You're a slow river and you run so cold.

Negro Speaks of Rivers
I've known rivers:
I've known rivers ancient as the world and older than the
flow of human blood in human veins
My soul has grown deep like the rivers.
I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young
I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln
went down to New Orleans, and I've seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset
I've known rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.
My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

In The Shallow Waters
to the geese
all waters are shallow
does one always have
to be on top
of the deep
silent waters?
to fathom the deep
and be the deep
itself
engrossed to the wisdom
of its secrets
and wallow
in the enigma
of the anonymous
or the unknown paths
breathless
there is a time to be
not ourselves
and we take chances on the
shallow waters
in there we are not fishers
of men
or women or anything
we wade and relax
waters covering half our bodies
half-truths
you must see and feel
trivial as they are
they make us
so light like cotton
or silk flowing on our skins
like clouds
we float and drift and go anywhere
i felt it once
oh, so nice temporarily but at the end
it haunts me.
for it is not me and it can never be me.
i am matter, i have weight and i sink
to the bottom
to the deepest secrets of my truths
if i drown at least, i have my graveyard
ready.

When Rivers Begin To Recede..
Rivers recede often in search of their spots of origin
And the mighty oceans begin to recall their past!
Rivers never get back to them.
A river whispers something into the ears of the paternal mountain
Her travelogue is it perhaps.
She falls silent then.
In the depths of the seas a sigh is heard
And it reaches the ears of none.
No river begins to flow again!
The pearls of the seas are shattered across the shores
And the carcasses of little Mermaids afloat the shallow waves.
At the tops of the peaks one hears the shouts of joy.

What We Have Become
in the shallow part of the river
we decide to play: life is a game
we like to believe that
our arms drip like cold water
on the side of the glass
that you hold when you have felt
the first thirst
i shall not satisfy you
and so i have become the bait
of the fish
you have become more interested
on what i have to say
not to be mistaken as trivial
i have also taken more glances at you
i believe you
and so with this trust i ask you to go with me
to the deep part of the sea
i swim first then you follow
you know how to swim and you swim well in fact
like a fish
at the shallow part
i told you that nothing is hidden
nothing signifies anything
the stones are stones
and nothing else
your questions are just ordinary questions
which i have answered to well
and you believe me more until
we dive deep
deeper into the ocean floor
where the sands though silent
have more to say
than what i can tell you
the stones on the sides of the deep
now are telling you more
and you begin to understand
why for all those years
on that dry land
i have kept my silence
my distance.

Awaken Child
Energies move slow smooth motions. Our rivers flow in rhythm towards the ocean
As steady we remain – How is it so that we can bend to the blowing of
The winds and still be mountain upon which natures children sing?
How is it I can be as deep as the depths of the blue yet at times remain as shallow as
The reflection of the moon upon the lake. Awaken child of the nightmare
Share your worries – share your cares. Welcome in the world outside your window.
Embrace in compassion the bird of the morning show. Let her know your Love.
Let her know the flowing of sorrow within the bounds of knowing.

Aquamarine
Aquamarine
All that glitters lies beneath
Deep blue,
Shallow green
I won't let it go
Aquamarine
You're my sexy little daydream
Deep blue,
Shallow green
I don't make it sound
Now there's a dream
Aquamarine
Send it up into the gulf stream
Deep blue,
shallow green
I won't let it go
Now there's a dream
Now there's a dream
Aquamarine

Shallow Days...
well, there are
shallow days, nothing deep
something for my
feet,
above me the sun
one and only one sun
just the sun and my head
and the shallow waters
on my toes
and the noon time walk
when everyone is as usual
having lunch, and
my toes get wet and i
am making meanings
on the shallow waters
the body in the middle of
this air, the hands are like
eagles flying. the fingers are
turning into feathers

Rivers
In dreams we see the magical flight,
Of crystal waves flying free,
To where the glass of waters meet,
Cruise in a dream upon the sea.
Darkness split the billowing floods,
Flung out brooks into mighty rivers,
To wash the steps down the slopes,
Into slippery streams of tributaries.
Rivers of water run down our eyes,
And let fountain disperse into tears,
In search we find the painful wishes,
Define the sum of all our fears.
The rush of tears we cannot control,
Memories enter the draining basin,
Sorrows like rivers meanders in our soul,
Feelings poured into floodplain.
We heard their voices from the deep,
Soul of our soul where we cannot reach,
The cry which leaves the darken void asleep,
In lonely shadow seen on the beach.
Together we stand, amidst the defiant roar,
And souls that lie at ease deep beneath,
Sleep in tragic tombs amidst the surfing water,
And spirits sail on to the safest harbour.

Heel On The Shovel
Im diggin you a shallow grave
An to the sun your face Ill raise
Im diggin you a shallow grave
One hundred buzzards buzzin
I seen death hangin from the tallest tree
Eyes closed no lookin back at me
Ye they came an took him in the night
The one who kissed em was greed
O everyone will see
An everyone will know
Boy you reap what you sow
Im diggin you a shallow grave
An on your rotten bones Ill raise
Yellow daisies
For my true loves hair
One hundred buzzards buzzin
I see death runnin from his majesty
O lord where is the fear in me
In between your praying hands
You hold the skeleton key

Look, I don't want to wax philosophic, but I will say that if you're alive you've got to flap your arms and legs, you've got to jump around a lot, for life is the very opposite of death, and therefore you must at very least think noisy and colorfully, or you're not alive.
