I Have The Touch
The time I like is the rush hour, cos I like the rush
The pushing of the people, I like it all so much
Such a mass of motion, do not know where it goes
I move with the movement and ... I have the touch
Im waiting for ignition, Im looking for a spark
Any chance collision and I light up in the dark
There you stand before me, all that fur and all that hair
Oh, do I dare ... I have the touch
Only, only
Wanting contact
Only, only
Im wanting contact
Only, only
Im wanting contact with you
Shake those hands, shake those hands
Give me the thing I understand
Shake those hands, shake those hands
Shake hands, shake hands.
Any social occasion, hello, how do you do
All those introductions, I never miss my cue
So before a question, so before a doubt
My hand moves out and ... I have the touch
Only, only
Wanting contact
Only, only
Im wanting contact
Only, only
Im wanting contact with you
Shake those hands, shake those hands
Give me the thing I understand
Shake those hands, shake those hands
Shake those hands
Pull my chin, stroke my hair, scratch my nose, hug my knees
Try drink, food, cigarette, the tension will not ease
I tap my fingers, fold my arms, breathe in deep, cross my legs
Shrug my shoulders, stretch my back, but nothing seems to please
I need contact
I need contact
Nothing seems to please
I need contact
Tac-tacatac, tac-tacatac
I need contact
Nothing seems to please
I need contact
Tac-tacatac, tac-tacatac
I need contact
Ah, tac-tacatac
I need contact
Nothing seems to please
I need contact
I need contact.

Consistency matters
Frequency of contact,
Intensity of contact,
And longevity of contact
Together or severally
Can burn even a banana sheath.
Love is fire that burns like that.

Contact itself is the pleasure
The sustained interest is there
In contact with an intimate friend,
Notwithstanding the absence
Of any corporal contact.
The gratifying interest is there
In contact with a flirting woman
Notwithstanding the eluding
Corporal contact of her.
Gather, not to grieve.

(Personal Poem) Big Sister is Missing
You don't have to sanction what I'm doing.
I need not your approval to continue on.
Though at times it would be nice.
To hear from you.
To say I'm glad your still alive.
But silence is all you give me.
I think its all I'll ever see.
In a world behind closed doors.
Miles off in the distance who cares.
Well I do.
And I'll remind you everyday if I have to.
I'm not going anywhere.
And this I swear.
With every angry breath of air.
I still love you.
We are blood and it'll never be forgotten.
Even in hell on earth and much worse.
I will never speak to you from something rehearsed.
I will speak only the word that comes to me.
Small and incidental to most.
But I don't care because I'm trying to reach a ghost.
Somebody who disappeared over five months ago.
poof gone with no given notice.
Not a single phone call.
Nothing to let me know the kids are alright.
So just talk to me my big sister.
Contact me by email,
Contact me by phone.
Contact me by address.
Anyway to let me knowing your doing alright.
Cause I no longer see your light.
I'm so afraid something bad might have happen.
Without a trace, with my soul searching for the right words to say.
I'm sorry for anything and everything I've done to you.
Anything to bring you back to my reality.
A wake up call.
Can you hear me at all.
This is not funny.
I don't know where you are.
Is it far.
I'm so in the dark.
I'm going pray for you everyday till contact is made.

Spirit
Test your spirit.
See where it takes you.
Give it wings.
Then see where it flew.
It can cover much ground
to all those around
that come into contact with you.
Give your spirit
the chance it needs
to elevate the world
and plant the seeds
of kindness to all that have hit a wall
and now have made contact with you.
Watch your spirit
grow on its own
as it shines its brilliance
on those in pain
or those who remain
without a light
until they make contact with you.
For your spirit transcends
and makes amends
to all inequities on earth,
to all who have forgotten about
their own self-worth
and need a reminder
as they come into contact with you.

Death is a daily occurrence
In death you will have lost
Your contact with the world,
The people knowing and known.
You have already come across
Several such deaths
Whenever you have lost
Contacts with the known
Or they have lost your vestige.
You are dead to the one
Who has lost your contact
Or whose contact you have lost.

I Don't Have The Map
When it happens
Youll feel like an islander
Youll see ships and theyll be reminders
That youre on an island
Im on an island
The chances are theres a reason weve been left here
But Im not disappointed
The chances are theres a reason weve been left
The chances are, the chances are
You cant contact, you cant contact
You cant cope without the contact
As it happens
Theres a city in sight
Youre getting confused by local lamplight
By local lamplight
Dont buy local lamplights
The chances are theres a reason weve been left here
But Im not disappointed
The chances are theres a reason weve been left here
The chances are, the chances are
You cant contact, you cant contact
You cant cope without the contact
But what a situation to be in
You and me are keeping in time with my ideas
Keeping in time with my ideas
You cant stop keeping in time
You cant contact, you cant contact
You cant cope without the contact

Points of contact
We travel and keep moving
Each time you move ahead
You should have stepped at a point
Ensuring the grip of the point
You might have pushed ahead
And you make your next step
After reaching the next point of contact
You push ahead
Exerting the force of the push
On the point of contact
The more frequently you
Meet the points of contact
The faster is your movement and going ahead
The point of contact acts as fulcrum
That ensures your push becomes a movement
Thus, you will agree,
Points of contact
Help you move
Regardless of the direction
And regardless of the destination
Quality of your movement
Depends a lot on the
Quality of the points of contact
A slippery, less firm point of contact
Makes you slip
And end up with failure
Your journey terminating not
Helping you reach the destination
Despite all your skills
And efforts towards pushing ahead
You understand that
Points of contact need your attention
They need nourishment
Maintenance and care
The Point of contact need not be
Just a material or stone
Or a step in a ladder or staircase
It can also be a person
Who helped you in your movement
Some time, some where and some how
It is also a requirement
That you be in touch with them
Demonstrating your care and love for them
Your life journey
Either through vocational career,
Or through domestic living
Or through places
Require the blessings of points of contact
Take care of them
Nurture them
Ensure that they are fit and strong enough
To carry your weight
And help you go further ahead in life

when we fell out of love

I’ll Wait Patiently
I’m sorry, today I tried to contact you,
then realised you weren’t there.
I’ve been kind of out of sorts lately,
feeling down and full of despair.
I just wondered what you were doing,
and if you ever thought of me.
Do you remember all the good times
and how happy we used to be?
I’ve tried to contact you several times
after you’ve been on my mind.
I still don’t really know what happened
that caused me to leave you behind.
Why haven’t you contacted me
like we agreed we would?
Have you forgotten how to do it,
or is your network not so good?
I don’t know exactly where you are,
and I could track you down.
The question is would you want me to,
and would you want me around?
Please try to use the airways
if you want to contact me.
I have all the time in this world
and I’ll wait patiently.

For Those Who Wish To Die Younger...
to be candid, i do not intend
to grow old with some dead leaves
on that cold pond,
i am not your haiku,
i am the elegy of the middle aged man
who leaves an oral tradition
a poetry to the world
with no trace of any lyric
i already sound like a dirge
dig it.
i do not grow old.
(it is nicer that way,
early to go and
still be wise) .

Gathering Leaves
Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.
I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.
But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.
I may load and unload
Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed,
And what have I then?
Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for color.
Next to nothing for use.
But a crop is a crop,
And who's to say where
The harvest shall stop?

Glue
Your heart is so delicate
if you give some one
it may break
Two hearts come in contact
one may break
Glue has only adhesiveness
joins two things together
which come in contact
even by mistake

Hopscotching Through Monopolies
Hopscotching through monopolies,
To watch those twittering their tweets...
And texting responses to instant chats,
Without making eye contact.
To do this with unequivocal focus...
Is almost impossible to distract those,
Attached to communicating today like that.
And even in crowds there are those so detached,
As to not to care or notice...
The shredding going on around them,
By those employed by monopolies enjoying...
Erasing the facts,
Once kept intact for researching purposes.
Well...
We all can forget that!
Hopscotching through monopolies,
To watch those twittering their tweets...
To avoid eye contact that leaves them to do,
Exactly as they please...
Is,
Well...
Offensive and disheartening to someone like me.
Since I remember those times when I said 'hello'...
At least I got a 'nod' in return.
Will I witness people hobnobbing?
No.
Nosebobbing over shoulders,
To dip with a peeking?
No.
And even though some might be tempted,
With immense curiosity...
There seems to be a sigh of relief.
No one bothers to them to speak.

The Love Bug
A careless kiss,
a quick embrace,
doesn’t normally
leave a trace.
A loving kiss,
a warm embrace,
always you find,
leaves a trace.
Love circles the heart,
like clouds across the moon;
it captures us quick,
before we get a chance to swoon.
It blinds us,
and guides us,
on our sweet way,
even tells us just what to say.
We find ourselves captured,
even before we have begun.
By the love bug,
the old son-of-a-gun.

Meeting
For a moment your hand rests cool in mine,
when you wish me a happy new year,
when our eyes meet deep, when you introduce yourself
and I know that you are extremely lovely,
for moments this contact lingers with me
while the pace of my heart quickens,
the contact becomes something intimate and intense,
a place away from a world of pain.
