I’ll Wait Patiently

I’m sorry, today I tried to contact you,
then realised you weren’t there.
I’ve been kind of out of sorts lately,
feeling down and full of despair.

I just wondered what you were doing,
and if you ever thought of me.
Do you remember all the good times
and how happy we used to be?

I’ve tried to contact you several times
after you’ve been on my mind.
I still don’t really know what happened
that caused me to leave you behind.

Why haven’t you contacted me
like we agreed we would?
Have you forgotten how to do it,
or is your network not so good?

I don’t know exactly where you are,
and I could track you down.
The question is would you want me to,
and would you want me around?

Please try to use the airways
if you want to contact me.
I have all the time in this world
and I’ll wait patiently.
