I mean, the part you don't like, I mean, that's the only part. That's the part no one likes, and that is the criticisms, and the unfair criticisms, I might add, of my husband. But that's also just a fact of life in politics.

Be Relieved

Be relieved.
At least those criticisms,
Once directed to you...
Will not be as severe.
And...
You can become more antagonizing,
Than ever before.
But...
With less scrutiny face,
To defend against.
In fact...
You are in a greater position now,
Than you were before.

Be relieved.
At least those criticisms,
Once directed to you...
Will not be as severe.

Self-Mocking

Whenever I self mock
over a compliment I have been given
it is not to insult the person who gave it,
more to injure myself.
I can cope with most things
that are given to me except compliments.
Sound Strange?
When I was growing up many years ago,
I was belittled by family and friends alike.
They made me feel like a misfit,
so a misfit I became.
I endured insults about me
in every way shape and form.
Compliments were never given
and became a stranger to me.
Now that I am older,
I do not stand easy
when compliments are given
and I have to mock myself
and make a parody out of me.
I grew up feeling useless in everything I did.
They did not realise what they were doing
and hurting that they caused. I
t was not jokes they threw at me,
but hurting insults that made me feel insecure.
Now when compliments come
I cannot accept them readily.
I cannot accept that anyone
would want to compliment me,
so I self mock myself you see.

Despite Rolling Eyes

Strong!
Confident.
Self-assured.
Endures setbacks,
With faith and dignity applied.
Relies on God...
To assist the dismissal
Of inner struggles,
Disguised
No one can describe,
From a depth inside.
And not afraid at all...
To admit
Sometimes there are conflicts and flaws!
And yet...
Beset by criticisms one gets.
In silence one accepts this!
Taught that it takes...
Heartaches carried with heartbreaks!
And despite criticisms and rolling eyes...
A success rewarded will materialize.
If one seeks to meet challenges,
Without the shallowness of whines and cries!

Nit and Picked Too Long

My love for you is gone.
You nit and picked too long.
Your criticisms wrong.
I did not feel belonged.

My love for you is gone!
You nit and picked too long.
Your criticisms wrong.
I did not feel belonged.

Absent was a benefit.
Every time you threw a fit.
And your tongue was acid lit.
Driving me to split,
And seek calm.

You nit and picked too long.
Your criticisms wrong.
I did not feel belonged.
Driving me to split,
And seek calm.

I'm done with it and gone.
You nit and picked too long.
You nit and picked too long
I'm done with you and it,
And now I'm gone.

Close By But In Disguise

Have you ever been admonished,
By what some say?
Have you ever been astonished,
By what you believed would go away?
Did you ever take offense,
By criticisms meant...
Just to see you get a 'rise',
By adversity close by.
But in disguise...
Hiding.

Have you ever been incensed,
By directed wickedness?
Have you ever tried to vent...
But received discouragement.
Did you ever stop to think,
You drive yourself to the brink...
By those who wish this seen.

Did you ever take offense,
By criticisms meant...
Just to see you get a 'rise',
By adversity close by.
But in disguise...
Hiding.

Scapegoatism

When the going is smooth,
When success is the standard
When compliments flow from all angles
And the group is swimming in brilliance
They misappropriate the praises
They appropriate the prizes
They arrogate credit for good decisions
They usurp the tribute for choice of suitable strategy
They claim the accolade for the group's glory
And steal the honour of becoming the acclaimed

But when the going becomes tough
When defeat is experienced
When strategies do not deliver
When victory becomes a mirage
When challenges stir the group the face
When criticisms flow from all directions
And the group assumes the status of a joker
They point accusing figures at others
They craftily jettison the blames
Allocate all the condemnations to others
Apportion none of the censures to themselves
They exonerate themselves from all faults
They acquit and discharge themselves
From all the charges preferred against the group
And escapes any form of punishment

The unsung hero's in the good days,
Become the culprits during bad days.
They bear the brunt for poor results.
The heroes of the good days,
Lead in the call to crucify,
The imaginary culprits of failure.
They are sent on compulsory retirement
With condemnation and dishonor
This is called ‘scapegoatism'

Unintending To Be Perceived As Offensive

I accept with appreciation,
Compliments from others.
Who become aware of my attempts.

Sometimes I wish,
I could express more enthusiasm.
To show such thankfulness for such gifts.

And this I've done for many years in my routines.
With a doing done I do,
In a process that of my creation sees.

I accept with appreciation,
Compliments from others.
Who become aware of my attempts.

Sometimes I wish,
I could express more enthusiasm.
To show such thankfulness for such gifts.

And I do say, 'Thank you.'
Since I am grateful for the attention my gifts get.
Although I consider myself an 'elf' sometimes,
Just doing my part as God's work in progress.

With a doing at times God knows,
Can be a bit mischievous with a willingness unintending.
To be perceived as offensive when that deed I do gets done.

Is He A Hero Or Just Another Villain?

Compliments aside.
I know you see your self as the hero.
All narcissist do in their own little fairy tales..
Somebody's got be the villain.
Let that be me.

Let me signal your defeat.
When the angels come marching in.
They will ask me what is it you think you have done?

It was just.
It was just.

My heart is not bleeding no not for him.
He was a lier destroying our entire society.
He was a cheat stealing our souls one at a time.
Good intentions gone awry.
As blood continues to forsaken the sky.
Seeing through the all seeing eye.
Trying to keep my head held up high.
A clout in the form of a disguise.
The ultimate sacrifice, with the ultimate backlash.

Compliments aside.
I know you see your self as the hero.
All narcissist do in their own little fairy tales..
Somebody's got be villain.
Let that be me.

Let me signal your defeat.
When the angels come marching in.
They will ask me what is it you think you have done?

It was just
It was just.

It was just.
It was just.

Forever stuck in the moral obligation of self justification.
A world where no jury or judge presides.
Not of your peers but for your peers.
A vigilante of the criminal sort.
When it comes to a last resort.
Tell me are you one that can pull that trigger?
Daggers forever invading the mind.
The bomb is still being primed.
Their's a fight going on for complete control over this world.
Tell me have you yet picked a side?

Compliments aside.
I know you see your self as the hero.
All narcissist do in their own little fairy tales..
Somebody's got be villain.
Let that be me.

Let me signal your defeat.
When the angels come marching in.
They will ask me what is it you think you have done?

It was just
It was just.

It was just.
It was just.

Now watch the walls crumble.
The shape shifters are pedaling ever nearer
No where to run now.
A new crown on your head is placed.
Hold it in disgrace
Drink the blood of your fellow man.

Yes you killed him.
Yes you killed him.

But it was just.

The words here are placed forever to stay.

But it was just.

Compliments aside.
I know you see your self as the hero.
All narcissist do in their own little fairy tales..
Somebody's got be villain.
Let that be me.

Let me signal your defeat.
When the angels come marching in.
They will ask me what is it you think you have done?

It was just
It was just.

Why can't you see it was just?

One Compliments The Other

ONE COMPLIMENTS THE OTHER

Day light makes darkness disappear
While darkness makes light shine brighter
Raindrops decorate the skies with rainbow
While sunlight makes raindrops glow

One compliments the other with truth
For those who seek with faith
The heart and soul of divine
That’s seen in darkness and sunshine

Daylight brings feelings of hope of assurance
While darkness brings feelings of endurance
Raindrops satisfies the feelings of thirst
While sunshine brings feelings for conquest

Unique, Eccentric Things

Women over age forty complain they are invisible
to men, must appear young and lie about age for
attention - this problem does not exist for people
like me who never caught the male eye because
we never appealed by attending to them

It is hard work to idealise anyone and the loss of
cheap admiration seems to be an advantage as
fake charm to exploit a dame never held interest,
older women should rejoice that they are free
from false compliments courting their favour

Women who complain about this benefit must
have been used to wolf-whistles; since my pre-
occupations kept me safe from such practices
I don’t suffer losing superficial meaningless
things - I have little sympathy with

Feminine types who live for compliments, yet
I appreciate the variety they add to life; never
want individual ideas to be lost; I love unique,
eccentric things for the interesting contrast
they always provide through their being
