It's much simpler to be tortured on camera or to be filmed losing your mind. Whereas a script that has characters who are honest, witty and genuine... is often much harder to act.

To be perfectly honest, drama is a lot simpler than comedy.
It's very witty and it's great to see teenage characters have control that way. And you can actually hear about sex and pot and it's okay, it's not completely bad and you can't say that to teenagers.

Immortals Of The Silver Screen - James Stewart
There are a lot of names
who’ve appeared on the silver screen.
Some just fade away and are forgotten,
others have a star that shines bright
even long after they have passed on.
James Stewart is one of those few.
His characters are as fresh today
as the day they were filmed.
We can all give a roll call
of our favourites James Stewart films
Several stand out in my mind from the rest.
They can be viewed time and time again
without ever getting boring.
Two that spring to my mind
are its A Wonderful Life
and the immortal Harvey.
Both have brought pleasure
to millions and millions,
as have all his films.
This is my tribute
to one of Hollywood’s very find actors
and a much-loved man.

In the year and a half I was on SNL, I never saw anybody ad lib anything. For a very good reason - the director cut according to the script. So, if you ad libbed, you'd be off mike and off camera.

We started getting the script to different people and we were in the business of trying to fund it so we could get it off and running, and all the characters and sets designed and everything.
The first script I got was Narc and I really responded to it; it reminded me of a '70s type movie, I really liked the characters, I didn't anticipate the ending.
