I'm shy. I can go on a trip for days and not go because I won't sit on a toilet seat on a plane. I'm certainly not going to go on somebody's lawn. Could you imagine, in a cocktail dress?

Seated At D
at the F seat of
the plane
the fat man with scattered white hair
talks that his daughter is
graduating tomorrow
in high school,
the E seat man
makes a link that his son is
graduating this afternoon
in the elementary school
they are overseas workers
from Jeddah
they are talking about salaries
and other incentives
the thin one brags that he
can work overtime and on fridays
he sidelines as driver
in the desert
road
I am the D seat man
i close my eyes and take my sleep
the plane sails like a ship in
a very calm sea &
i really have nothing to say.

Fait accompli
the plane took off
i realized i did not like the aisle seat
i transferred to the window seat
and the stewardess said
'excuse me, sir! ' trying to stop me
for doing so,
i pretended i heard no one
moved as fast a i can towards the window seat
fastened my seat belt
and put my head
well rested on the
beside the window
below the clouds flew
past me
on a deceiving speed
the mountains spread
benumbing

Take A Little Trip
If we could leave this big old city
And head back for the cabin we loved back deep in the woods
Whoa baby we would
If we could jump in some big old jet plane & head for the islands
Where the weather is always good
Oh dont you know we would
Well we cant do this & we cant do that
But baby we can stay right where were at
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little time leave it all behind
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
We could go downtown to a nightclub
And dance to the rythm of the music on that old hardwood
Whoa baby we could
We could call up rita & bobby
And see what theyre doing tonight & maybe play some rook
Yeah baby we could
Yeah now we can do this or we can do that
Or baby we can stay right where were at
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little time leave it all behind
Take a little trip you and me out of sight
Pull down the shades turn out the lights
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little trip, take a little trip
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight
Take a little trip me and you out of sight
Pull down the shades turn out the lights
Take a little trip up to heaven tonight

Love is imagination
Love is imagination
We first imagine someone
That will be with us
Here and forever
We imagine someone
That always on our side
In sad and happy moment
We imagine someone
That gives us power
Through all difficult time
We imagine someone
That gives us dream
To fly to the wide sky
We imagine someone
That sleeps with us in the night
And still there when we open our eyes in the morning
We imagine someone
That gives us children of love
And spends his old days with us
We imagine someone
That makes us laugh
Until happiness hurts
We imagine someone
That makes us cry
Until tear becomes relief
We imagine someone
That really cares and loves us
When our imagination fits with our heart
Love continues…

Friendly Skies
Missy:
Yeah
A little slow jam
Kiss me Hold me
The weatherman says it's gonna be
Cold tonight
Whatever man
Whatever whatever whatever whatever whatever
Whatever man you wanna do
I'll be the pilot
Don't miss your flight
I'm stewardess of the plane
Feel the turbulence and maintain
Please refrain stay in your seats
Until we reach the game
I'm stewardess of the plane
Feel the turbulence and maintain
Please refrain stay in your seats
Ginuwine:
Take me higher
Let's just go for a little
Joy Ride
Whatever man
Whatever whatever whatever whatever
Let's stay
Buckled up
And let's make love
Across the friendly skies
I'm passenger of this plane
I feel the turbulence I maintain
I will refrain Stay in my seat
Till I reach the game
I'm passenger of this plane
I feel the turbulence I maintain
I will refrain
I stay in my seat
I want you (I want you)

Lydia
There was life before us
my sister and I discovered
looking at photographs
we shouldn't have been looking at
of the English girl my father
was engaged to during the war.
Here she is right in front of our eyes,
the woman before my mother,
in a black lace cocktail dress,
a cigarette in a holder,
pensive, earthy—waiting
in front of the carved wooden radio,
for news from the front.
This is the war, after all,
and here she is again, somewhere
on an English beach, draped
across my father's shoulder
all of her silky skin radiant
above the soft folds of sun dress.
They stand in front of a sign
that reads 'Seaside Cottages,
two dollars.' And here she is
again, painted onto the cockpit
of my father's plane with hardly
anything on at all, and here he is
in his flight jacket, looking
in fact, happy. My sister and I each
lift our pencils like cigarettes,
taking long sultry drags to puff
out invisible rings. They rise
in the air like silver nooses
that will catch our father
and hold him to us.

Just Another Rhumba
It happened to me
On a trip to the west indies
Oh, Im all at sea
Since that trip to the west indies
Im jittery
Im twittery
I guess Im done for
I guess Im through
And its something about which theres nothing anyone can do
It isnt love
It isnt money trouble
Its a very funny trouble:
Its just another rhumba
But it certainly has my numb-bah
So much so, that I cant eat or slum-bah
Can you imagine anything dumb-bah?
Why did I have to plan a
Vacation in havana?
Why did I take that trip
That made me lose my grip?
Oh! that piece of music laid me low
There it goes again:
Just another rhumba
Which I heard only last septum-bah
Im a wreck, why did I have to succumb-bah
Can you imagine anything dumb-bah?
Why did I have to succumb-bah
To that rhumba?
Ahah, Im the cucaracha, who just went blah
And gave up swinging ha-cha, ahah
Ahah, at first it was devine-ah
But it turned out a cuban frankenstein-ah
Ahah, its got me by the throat-ah!
Oh, whats the antidote-ah?
Ahah, it brought me woe and strife-ah
Oh, wheres a gun or knife-ah?
Its the rhumba that blighted my life
There it goes again:
Just another rhumba
But it certainly has my numb-bah
So much so, that I cant eat or slum-bah
Can you imagine anything dumb-bah?
Why did I have to succumb-bah
To that rhumba?
(instrumental break)
There it goes again:
Just another rhumba
But it certainly has my numb-bah
So much so, that I cant eat or slum-bah
Can you imagine anything dumb-bah?
Why did I have to succumb-bah
To that rhumba?

Imagine (Love Poem)
Imagine the world ….
….if you had never said “Hello”
Imagine the space….
….where you were meant to be
Imagine waking up….
….in a forever empty bed
Imagine the absent closeness….
….and perfect pleasures lost
Imagine a time….
….before your tender touch
Imagine the future….
….if fragile friendships end
Imagine the energy….
….we must spend to stop this
Imagine the heat….
….that our love will generate
Imagine the reward….
….of this lifetime together.

Imagine
Imagine information in the palm of your hand.
Imagine the knowledge of a library at your command.
Imagine all books written just a touch away.
Imagine all media at your finger tip each day.
Imagine a device that causes a mental revolution.
Imagine how it calculates with instant execution.
Imagine a discovery rivaling all human means.
Imagine its place in the mapping of genes.
Imagine where this miracle will take mankind.
Imagine unimaginables there still are to find.
Imagine love ruling the world some day.
Imagine how mankind could then find its lost way.

(Can't You) Trip Like I Do
I've got the understanding of a 4-year-old
I've got the piece of mind of a killer soul
I've got the rationale of a new york cop
I've got the patience of a chopping block yeah
trip like I do
trip like I do (oh my god this is the best)
I've got the acumen of a season broke
I've got the lack of say of a billion souls
I've got the world on my back but I don't seem to care
I've got the comprehension of a world unaware yeah
trip like i do
trip like I do (oh my god this is the best)
trip like i do (mm..i want you to trip like i do)
can't you, can't you trip like i do
can't you, can't you trip like I do
laid down my back i can't sleep cause I'm falling
eyes in my teeth i can't see cause i'm eating
head full of noise I can't think cause it's crushing
back on my feet like a freight train I'm coming
can everybody feel like I do
can everybody feel like I do (oh my god)
can't you can't you trip like I do
can't you can't you trip like I do (oh my god)
can't you trip can't you think can't you feel like I do
can't you walk can't you breathe can't you trip like I do...

The Last Trip
that was the last trip.
and there will be no more
returning
we only try to imagine
another set of surroundings
there is no coffee here
it is only a vision of us sipping
away what was there
before
there is no more city
nestling on the valley
no more melodies of the
savages, we are now
on this last trip where
there is no more
returning
be glad.....

As A Drive The Car To The City
you will always be on my right
at the front seat
do not talk too much
i have had enough
you are my wife and will always
be at the front seat
do not take that position for granted
others are waiting
somewhere over the next block
for a hitch
of this marriage trip.

Plexiglass Toilet
Don't sit on the Plexiglas toilet
Said the momma to her son
Wipe the butt clean with the paper
Make it nice for everyone
But don't sit down on the Plexiglas toilet yeah
A boy of 5 stands close to the toilet
Holds the lid up with one hand
Won't let go the lid for fear that
On his banana it will land
Don't sit down on the Plexiglas toilet yeah
Boy goes up he eats the enchilada
With the sauce that burns the heart
Family comes to visit family
Momma says don't belch and fart
Don't sit on the Plexiglas toilet
Said the momma to her son
Wipe the butt clean with the paper
Make it nice for everyone
But don't sit down on the Plexiglas toilet yeah
Everybody Sing!
Don't sit on the Plexiglas toilet
Said the momma to her son
Wipe the butt clean with the paper
Make it nice for everyone
But don't sit down on the Plexiglas toilet yeah
Don't sit on the Plexiglas toilet
Said the momma to her son
Wipe the butt clean with the paper
Make it nice for everyone
But don't sit down on the Plexiglas toilet yeah

Lily Licked the Toilet
Lily licked the toilet,
And then she licked the floor.
You can bet I'll never
Kiss Lily anymore!
Lily licked the toilet,
And then she licked the sink.
She's full of germs and worms,
At least that's what I think.
Lily licked the toilet,
And then she licked the tub.
It's safe to say her tongue
Could use a real good scrub!
She was the cutest pooch! (To Smooch)
Why'd she have to spoil it?
Nothing's been the same since…
Lily licked the toilet!

A plane is a bad place for an all-out sleep, but a good place to begin rest and recovery from the trip to the faraway places you've been, a decompression chamber between Here and There. Though a plane is not the ideal place really to think, to reassess or reevaluate things, it is a great place to have the illusion of doing so, and often the illusion will suffice.
