This day before dawn I ascended a hill and looked at the crowded heaven.

Crowded
Crowded
Spirits walking on the roofs
no fear to fall or slide
no spirit of the dead
that did ever die
it's really crowded in the sky
and crowded in the streets
spouses and sprouts in all houses
crowded in my head am I
crowded in the underground
crowded in my ears
look what i have found;
my face crowded in tears.

Paradise Lost
When i said i'd die tomorrow
My whole family was there
I said i'd go to heaven
And i asked them for their prayers.
I'll admit my hands were sweaty
But i'd practised many times
The dry runs were quite frequent
Behind those hostile lines.
The check point was quite easy
They really didn't look at me
I looked the part, spoke Hebrew
Seemed like i'd got friends with me.
The restaurant was crowded
Women, kids, just having fun
I'd been trained to find the best spot
To detonate the bomb.
So i got close to a table
And looked around - well just in case
Someone might recognise me
And put a name unto my face.
'Well hi there' said this lady
'Say you're looking rather tired
Come sit with us and eat some food
Hey - you two move aside'
She looked just like my mother
The one they killed in that attack
I almost pressed the button
But then something held me back.
I told this to the soldiers
While those lights they shone on me
They looked at me and asked my age
It was then i said 'thirteen'.

Loving Angels Instead
I dreamt my body died,
The wake was crowded,
The funeral was jam-packed,
Mourners all dressed in black and black.
They Kicked and pushed
Just like Lupe, but my funeral turnout
Was far from a fiasco (flop) ,
All along, two angels, side by side, lovingly overlooked.
I dreamt my soul ascended to heaven,
The choir was crowded,
The preachers section was jam-packed,
They all wore white and white.
No pushing, no shoving. Pure civilization
Like I had never seen before,
So, God choose me to be his chief poet (POET IVY)
All along, two angels, side by side, lovingly overlooked.
I dreamt my heart was broken,
So, I took that as a forewarning & stopped loving humans,
For they consistently let me down,
They promise but they fail. My heart is still red and red.
I even ate the love apple (tomato)
But, that didn’t help. So, henceforth
Just like Robbie Williams, I’m loving angels instead.
Life is better off loving angels instead.

Red Sky Warning
I saw the cloud in the morning sky
So I turned to go back inside,
And I said to my wife, ‘It’s a shepherd’s dawn,
Or the red sky early warning, torn
By the man with the evil eye.’
The silence hung in a leaden pall
As she turned her face away,
And I said: ‘I’m only the man behind,
I’m not to account for all mankind
Or a cloud at the break of day.’
She looked again and she pulled the blind
And the house was dark and still.
‘I’ve looked my last on the works of man
Through whispered tears on a trembling hand,
Or the cloud beyond the hill.’
So she sat herself where she sits today
By the glow of the ash-wood fire,
But she sees and hears and tells me nought
While the devil inside her can’t be bought,
Or ever be made to tire.
So whenever a cloud in the early dawn
Glows red in the morning sky,
I say to my wife: ‘It’s a shepherd’s dawn,
Or the red sky early warning, torn
By the man with the evil eye.’

Crowded Room
Across a crowded room
I first set eyes on you
My vision was impaired
Obstructed out of view
By those - faces in a crowded room
Them - bodies in a crowded room
Their - breathing in a crowded room
And their - pushing me out
Down the fire escape
In the crowded room I wont touch too much
I felt the punch of a punch
The language was enough
To send me running etc.

I Remember A Time
I remember a time when all was still
I climbed a small but bounteous hill.
The perfumed air was everywhere
and peace had come to visit there.
I looked around so I could see
if anyone had followed me.
But, no I found myself alone
and looked down at a tiny stone.
I picked it up and as time passed
I placed it back so it would last.
For all things should have its home.
None should be taken or have to roam.
I remember a time when I was still.
I felt quietness upon that hill.
I stayed for more than an hour or two
and then looked down and saw a view
that I knew could never compare with this.
I also sensed that I would miss
this little hill and the little stone
that showed me what it is I own.
I own the stillness of yesterday.
I own the peace of come what may.
And I understand that where I've grown
I'm just as content as that little stone.

Getting Mighty Crowded
Im packing up my memories
And Im gonna move all out of your heart
Im turning in my keys
And Im gonna move all out of your heart
cause there aint room enough for two
In dreams that were made for me and you
Im telling you, its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me
Its getting mighty crowded
Im gonna take these things of mine
And Im gonna move all out of your life
Stop wasting my time
And Im gonna move all out of your life
cause there aint room enough for three
In dreams that were made for you and me
So you see, its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me
Its getting mighty crowded
Im saving you the trouble of putting me down
Starting on the double, yeah yeah
Im gonna shop around
Im gonna find another heart
Where I can live all by myself
Gonna find another heart
I dont have to share with anybody else
cause you dont treat me like you should
And hanging around this neighborhood is no good
Its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded
Im packing up my memories, getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded

In the decline of the day, near Kentucky river, as we ascended the brow of a small hill, a number of Indians rushed out of a thick cane-brake upon us, and made us prisoners.

Window
I looked out the window at dawn and saw a young apple tree
translucent in brightness.
And when I looked out at dawn once again, an apple tree laden with
fruit stood there.
Many years had probably gone by but I remember nothing of what
happened in my sleep.

An Alien Cure
So I wandered like jesus
Like an alien cure
Searching for my disciples
Dispossessed and alone.
So I looked deeper
Into evil
And I came closer
To your corruption.
I took a virgin like mary
And said I give you the one
I confessed to desire
And watched the world come undone.
So I looked deeper
Into evil
And I came closer
To your obsession.
So I looked deeper
Into evil
And I came closer
To heaven.
Your heaven.
So I moved like a rumour
Like a glorious lie
And I walked into heaven
Into dead paradise.

Dear John
Written by tommy shaw
Lead vocals by tommy shaw
Dear john I knew you
About as well as anyone
We were the wild ones
So sure those days would never end
Now theyre only memories my friend
Dear john Ill see you
Some day again
I swear I saw you
On a crowded street today
I almost called your name
Thinking of all those yesterdays
Heaven help me
How I miss my friend
Dear john Ill see you
Some day again
Therell be a celebration
When all will be revealed
Well have a reunion
High on a hill
Dear john how are you
God know its heaven where you are
Find some peace there
May it never end
Dear john my heart knows
Well meet again
Dear john Ill see you....
Some day again

the Touch**********************1979
i looked up into the deep blue sky
little white clouds were floating by
i looked upon this young girls face
she held it down in disgrace.
i looked upon her cheeks so fair
she looked up to me to see if i care
i looked at her with content
and she knew right there it was heaven sent.
she smiled at me, and our eyes then touched
we knew then, it was much to much.
our hearts entwined and her lips met mine
we felt right there it was a love divine.

The Stairway To Heaven
I ascended the stairs
looking upward toward heaven.
I saw a face, somewhere
among the stars.
Shining brightly
searching the galaxy
in the luminary,
we found each other.

Stars
Alone in the night
On a dark hill
With pines around me
Spicy and still,
And a heaven full of stars
Over my head,
White and topaz
And misty red;
Myriads with beating
Hearts of fire
That aeons
Cannot vex or tire;
Up the dome of heaven
Like a great hill,
I watch them marching
Stately and still,
And I know that I
Am honored to be
Witness
Of so much majesty.

Temple Of Life
We sat by the fire
United in song
Under the moonlight
All night long
We sang 'Halleluyah'
For the joy of it all
And out on the water
A caroling moon
Sings just a sweet
Heavenly tune
Theres peace in Gods forest
The temple of life
[CHORUS]
Halleluyah
Halleluyah
We looked to the sky
Deep into heaven's eyes
Halleluyah
And back in the city
I'm losing control
I need a place
To ease my soul
There's peace in God's temple
The temple of life
[CHORUS]
Halleluyah
Halleluyah
We looked to the sky
Deep into heaven's eyes
Halleluyah
Halleluyah
Halleluyah
We looked to the sky
Deep into heaven's eyes
Halleluyah
Halleluyah
Halleluyah
We looked to the sky
Deep into heaven's eyes
Halleluyah
Thank you jesus
we praise your name
thank you lord
Halleluyah
[CHORUS (to fade)]

Alone
I’ve listened: and all the sounds I heard
Were music,—wind, and stream, and bird.
With youth who sang from hill to hill
I’ve listened: my heart is hungry still.
I’ve looked: the morning world was green;
Bright roofs and towers of town I’ve seen;
And stars, wheeling through wingless night.
I’ve looked: and my soul yet longs for light.
I’ve thought: but in my sense survives
Only the impulse of those lives
That were my making. Hear me say
‘I’ve thought!’—and darkness hides my day.

Moving Through The Dew
I
Moving through the dew, moving through the dew,
Ere I waken in the city—Life, thy dawn makes all things new!
And up a fir-clad glen, far from all the haunts of men,
Up a glen among the mountains, oh my feet are wings again!
Moving through the dew, moving through the dew,
O mountains of my boyhood, I come again to you,
By the little path I know, with the sea far below,
And above, the great cloud-galleons with their sails of rose and snow
As of old, when all was young, and the earth a song unsung
And the heather through the crimson dawn its Eden incense flung
From the mountain-heights of joy, for a careless-hearted boy,
And the lavrocks rose like fountain sprays of bliss that ne’er could cloy,
From their little beds of bloom, from the golden gorse and broom,
With a song to God the Giver, o’er that waste of wild perfume;
Blowing from height to height, in a glory of great light,
While the cottage-clustered valleys held the lilac last of night,
So, when dawn is in the skies, in a dream, a dream, I rise,
And I follow my lost boyhood to the heights of Paradise.
Life, thy dawn makes all things new! Hills of Youth, I come to you,
Moving through the dew, moving through the dew.
II
Moving through the dew, moving through the dew,
Floats a brother’s face to meet me! Is it you? Is it you?
For the night I leave behind keeps these dazzled eyes still blind!
But oh, the little hill-flowers, their scent is wise and kind;
And I shall not lose the way from the darkness to the day,
While dust can cling as their scent clings to memory for aye;
And the least link in the chain can recall the whole again,
And heaven at last resume its far-flung harvests, grain by grain.
To the hill-flowers clings my dust, and tho’ eyeless Death may thrust
All else into the darkness, in their heaven I put my trust;
And a dawn shall bid me climb to the little spread of thyme
Where first I heard the ripple of the fountain-heads of rhyme.
And a fir-wood that I know, from dawn to sunset-glow,
Shall whisper to a lonely sea, that swings far, far below.
Death, thy dawn makes all things new. Hills of Youth, I come to you,
Moving through the dew, moving through the dew.

Hopeless Bleak Despair
I never knew what everybody meant by endless, hopeless bleak despair
Until one day when I found out
The first time I ever left my house
It saw me and followed me home
And stayed with me for my whole life
For years and years I wandered the earth
Condemned to a life of bleak despair
Then one day I looked around and found
It had disappeared
All this bleak despair
It was always there
And then one day it disappeared
In a puff of smoke
In an unceremonious way
One day it disappeared
All I had ever wanted in my life was only to be free of it
It drove away my family
It made me lose my job
Whenever anybody saw it
Theyd say get out of here
For years and years I wandered the earth
Sick of my life, looking forward to death
The one day I looked around and found
It had disappeared
All this bleak despair
It was always there
And then one day it disappeared
In a puff of smoke
In an unceremonious way
One day it disappeared
For years and years I wandered the earth
Until I died and went to hell but my
Despair had ascended to heaven
Thats how I finally got rid of it
