A Backlash Of Misunderstandings

We want to...
Control one's breath,
And each step they make.

We want to...
Have others say what we wish,
And dismiss them quick.
Caring less about them.
Or if they experience heartbreak.

We want to...
Prove to the Earth's inhabitants,
Our way of life and thought process...
Is throughout the Universe,
The very best.

We want to impress with this message,
That reflects...
Who it is we are,
As we thump upon our chests.

But,
Nowhere can we defend and keep protecting...
These delusions.
There seems to be assaults coming to us,
From every place we wish to share our good graces.
And all that we face...
Is a backlash of misunderstandings,
Of our extraordinary principles.
