Witch Hunt
The night is black, without a moon.
The air is thick and still.
The vigilantes gather on
The lonely torchlit hill.
Features distorted in the flickering light,
Faces are twisted and grotesque.
Silent and stern in the sweltering night,
The mob moves like demons possesed.
Quiet in conscience, calm in their right,
Confident their ways are best.
The righteous rise
With burning eyes
Of hatred and ill-will.
Madmen fed on fear and lies
To beat and burn and kill.
They say there are strangers who threaten us,
Our immigrants and infidels.
They say there is strangeness to danger us
In our theatres and bookstore shelves,
That those who know whats best for us
Must rise and save us from ourselves.
Quick to judge,
Quick to anger,
Slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice
And fear walk hand in hand.

Hero's Return
In a time of fear and confusion,
silence charging the air
The sunlight is gone, darkness lives on
in the heart of the dragons lair
Lost in a world of illusions
No trace of the missing ore
Stealing our souls, were out of control,
knocking at deaths door
All our beliefs fading into ashes
Heed the words that we pray
For a Heros Return our hearts still yearn
Rise and conquer, let the infidels burn
Now we charge, the battle is raging,
blood runs everywhere
Our anger is fierce, avenging the years
No time for a final prayer
Behold, the might of the hammer,
elliptical bolts of fire
Theres nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
Youre down to the wire
Somewhere out there lies a new tomorrow
for me and those who believe
For a Heros Return our hearts still yearn
Rise and conquer, let the infidels burn
For a Heros Return our hearts still yearn
Rise and conquer, let the infidels burn
Oooh
Now, Ive returned from a place far beyond
My mission I set, let it be done
We still belive in a brighter future
The dreams are ours to fulfil
For a Heros Return.

The Hero Did Rise!
Once in a time when struggles existed
trials were many, and evil persisted:
there came a great fight in the dark of the night
and in destiny's eyes
the hero did rise!
Surrounded with hope, and cloked with the Spirit
he stood in the darkness and, lo, did not fear it.
With demons beguiling, and Lucifer smiling:
against his demise
the hero did rise!
With loss in his heart, and blows to his soul;
the vicious assault was beyond his control.
Yet, strong did he stand, upheld by God's hand
and despite their vain tries
the hero did rise!
The king of all demons in undaunted measures,
lusted to seal him as unto his pleasures.
But, he was resisting, and also persisting
in fighting the lies as
the hero did rise!
Too strong for the devil, he overcame death
and yelled through the darkness with fiery breath:
'You can not defeat me! Nor hope to retreat me!
Your immanence dies! '
The hero did rise!

The Maker
(daniel lanois)
Oh, oh deep water, black and cold like the night
I stand with arms wide open
Ive run a twisted line
Im a stranger in the eyes of the maker
I could not see for the fog in my eyes
I could not feel for the fear in my life
From across the great divide, in the distance I saw a light
Of jean baptistes hes walking to me with the maker
My body my body is bent and broken by long and dangerous sleep
I cant work the fields of abraham and turn my head away
Im not a stranger in the hands of the maker
Brother john, have you seen the homeless daughters
Standing there with broken wings
I have seen the flaming swords
There over east of eden
Burning in the eyes of the maker
Burning in the eyes of the maker
Burning in the eyes of the maker
Oh, river rise from your sleep
Oh, river rise from your sleep
Oh, river rise from your sleep

Walk In The Night 2
Walk in the night
Walk in the night of peace
Walk in the serene night
And prove the theories of
The pseudo scientists wrong
Walk in the with God on your side
Walk in the night
And I swear I will be your devout
Disciple and you will be the guru
Of inter racial harmony and with you
We shall rock the bastions of
Racial supremacy
To their flimsy foundations
Walk in the night and
The dreams of your clean
Mind shall seep into
Your soul and you
Will be saved by the Lord
Take my hand
And walk with confidence
In the black star filled night
Walk into the heart of
The black night of
My black lover's night
Walk in the trouble free night
You might have heard some stories
It is the people with ultra
Motives who paint
The night black
And they blacken the good
Name of the night
And the stereotypes about
The night become entrenched
In our minds and that's
Where racism takes root
Walk in the night of the home
Of the array of the black stars
Walk in the night under
The prevailing darkness of the night
Clearly let your thoughts flow
In the deep dark forest of the night
Walk with me in the night and you
Will see that I mean you no harm
Allow my child and your child to play
Together in the night and let them
Learn to trust each other
Walk in the night with my friend's
Friend and rid your minds of the
Stereotypes of racial hatred
That you have accumulated through
The passage of time
Walk in the night hand in hand
With me and you shall not try
To see me so much in your image
And I will not let my unfounded
Fear of the pigmentation on your
Skin ruin the love and the mutual
Trust that exists between us
Walk with me in this marvelous night
And be my friend or better still
Be my lover to complete
The cycle of racial harmony
Walk in the night and see
With your uncluttered mind
The ways of the world without
The confusing things of
The day blocking your clear
Appreciation of those who
Follow a religion
That's different from your
And their racial orientation
That cannot be changed by neither
You or myself

Still I Rise
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Flickering Candles
I'm just a flickering candle
In the night.
Vunerable,
Yet staying alight,
With the hope of love.
I will kiss your breast
With the promise of romance.
And fill your body
With caress
Of that vibrant dance.
In the moonlight,
then we will walk
Hand in hand
Into memories,
Lit by the sunlight
Of an endless sky.
Kissed by the moon
That is ours alone.
Two flickering candles
In the night.
Now
Shooting stars
Burning bright
To Heaven.

How white and level the plain
How white and level the plain
That stretches to the sea-ridge
The sea-ridge beyond which
The sea roars in and out
And laps against the giant rocks
This night.
I startle - the moon’s light
Which I thought feeble --
Clearly the plain before me lights
And the dark bosom of the sea
Entering and going silver shines
When the moon-rays with the dark waves commix
This night.
No sound save for my steps and the sea’s waves
And here and there a few cool gusts of wind.
No-body save for me - the rest so silent is:
The temples high above in black silhouette
Rise like pointed turrets to the sky
In silent draped and in dress funereal
I walk, I think, I look at the seas,
Tears come to my eyes and fall and fall
This night.

London nights
Fresh summer evenings, shop windows, fancy dresses,
theatres buzzing with crowds,
coffee aroma from cafe doorways.
It could be the middle of the day in London,
it's a city of magic, a city of the night
as the West End awakes.
Lovers walk hand in hand in brightly lit streets.
bars harbour young dudes bubbling
to find romance or just sex.
I slow the car to watch a crowd gather as they
spot a street performer do his thing
and then I speed away.
If you look into the shadows you'll see tramps,
working girls, wayward teens with knives
and empty eyes.
Alongside the rich walk the poor and needy,
the gap is cavernous, shameful
and as they struggle others thrive.
One hand of black jack at The Sportsman
would buy a meal for them but the profit
all goes on the ‘black', a roll of the dice.
It's not nice but that's London life,
take the good with the bad
and hang on to the light.

Quick Is The Beat Of My Heart
Written by lewis mark
Lead vocals by james young
If its my time to die today
Please God oh make it fast
Balanced on this point for a year and half
I just dont think I can last
Theres a man whos laid to rest
The man who gave me my start
I wish I could quit but I cant and its rough
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
So please all you people
Dont you grieve for me
The blood in my veins is black and I cant bleed
Ive suffered the pain
And all I can face is the dark
Oh, lord, quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Now my bags are almost packed
The trains about to depart
I wish I could quit but I cant and its rough
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
Quick is the beat of my heart
If its my time to die...

Haschisch
Behind the door, beyond the light,
Who is it waits there in the night?
When he has entered he will stand,
Imposing with his silent hand
Some silent thing upon the night.
Behold the image of my fear.
O rise not, move not, come not near!
That moment, when you turned your face,
A demon seemed to leap through space;
His gesture strangled me with fear.
And yet I am the lord of all,
And this brave world magnifical,
Veiled in so variable a mist
It may be rose or amethyst,
Demands me for the lord of all!
Who said the world is but a mood
In the eternal thought of God?
I know it, real though it seem,
The phantom of a haschisch dream
In that insomnia which is God.

Aura
The air was dark
The moon was dark
The night was dark
The cloud was dark
The heat was dark
The stars were black
The birds were black
The eyes were black
The shadows were black
The planes were black
A sound of night
The hearts of night
A chase at night
A fall at night
No help at night
The night is night
Where is my sight
I have no sight
Your light was sight
No light no sight
No one in sight
The dark in sight
Don't call my name
What's my name
They call my name
That's not my name
Who said its my name
I have no name
You took my same
It was our same
She was our same
She's now your same
Its all the same
I'm not the same
Judas and my hand
You took my hand
'I do' my hand
You kissed my hand
You broke my hand
You fell my hand
A tear in sand
A heart in sand
A body in sand
Alone in sand
A dust in sand
At home in sand.

of Phobias
Are you that person whom when you walk,
to whom you talk and coming I am, independently?
Whereof the road where you are dark walking
and talking you passing by me in the park.
You by your thoughts then start changing.
And as for me, me for as when, you.
When you have occasion and strange is that,
what you feel a little slower you walk it is dark.
Worry naught of fear, fear of the darkness,
when as for you it is fear, fear of me, fear of the darkness.
Whether the night brings you fear of the darkness,
and fear of the darkness I am coming to soon, I am there waiting.
Someones fear, fear of it fixating upon you.
I whom always it is, must posses.
Someone shakes one finger deep under the wall.
Move the moon to one side, which do you wish it possesses?
You by my deepest, up to the neck darkest phobia.
Yonder over there and your neck it is tearing off the skin.
Lines inbetween which are felt when you cry out and the tears.
Just last night when you felt what you saw.
And the footsteps you heard, it is what it is, and you never thought. Something from the rear and you walking it was heard.
And it is done again and again to the smile on your face.
And your face is right there and for who to see but me.
Because early it you does, to see it for the second time.
It is secured, firmly wrapped around and you think that it is difficult.
Are you troubled with your heart beats the heart underneeth you?
Your fear of your fear, of the shadow it plays in the darkness.
And in your cave and it dances in it comes in from the rear.
Of the eye it is felt suddenly, penatratingly quick much to quick.
To be felt.
Your fear of me of the darkness and this fear of the darkness and fear of the darkness being that of it, will it come to you soon for you.
Someones, fear of fixing and as for me, whom it always it possesses.
Where someone walked out the road,
and to I, of that of whom you it posses and your always afraid.
Not of me, it's your darness you fear, open your eyes and it sees.

Lo And Behold
Lonely by day
Empty and cold
Only to say
Lo and behold
Deep in the night
Down in my dreams
Glorious sight
This soul has seen
There's a well on the hill
You just can't kill for Jesus
There's a well on the hill
Let it be
I don't build no heathen temples
Where the Lord has done laid his hand
There's a well on the hill
Let it be
Everyone's talking 'bout the gospel story
Some shall sink and some shall rise
Everyone's talking 'bout the train to glory
Long, long time 'til it gets here to you, baby
There's a well on the hill
You just can't kill for Jesus
There's a well on the hill
Let it be
I don't build no heathen temples
Where the Lord has done laid a hand
There's a well on the hill
Let it be

Rise, Rise to the Occasion
Rise, rise to the occasion
Rise, rise to the invitations of life
Oh rise, rise to the music of joy
Uh rise, rise to the victory over strife!
This is the time for you to march forward
Oh son of the Mighty! Valor is the key
This is the urgency to show courage abundant
Oh daughter of Energy! Courage is the key
Rise, rise to the tide and rise to the low
Defeat lethargy and defeat fear
Mind the goal and attain it
The guts are here and the glory is here
Face the challenge, embrace it
Cross the puddles and the furrows
Calm the heart and fight the battle
Celebration’s for you – not the sorrows
Rise, rise then, rise O bright!
Rise, rise then to the right
Tire not, rise till the end of the path
Rise, rise then to all the might!

Moonful Of Moments
Moon light so bright
It follows you all night
Have no fear nor no worry
No need for any hurry
It’ll guide you in your darkest hour
Light galore with endless power
When your candle melts or your torch it fails
Your eyes – a boat on sea
And the moon – wind in its sails
Or stay and watch its silent reign
The moon a ball and the night its chain
The blackness has no place to hide
Its whiteness wants to be your guide
Like many eyes its surrounded by
The stars are company dotted high
Full moon fears play on your mind
Stay one step ahead not behind
Magical moon playing tricks
The man who lives there gets his kicks
He’s smiling as your pace gets faster
Staying calm you have yet to master
Oh take advantage of its faithful glow
Enjoy it fully by going slow.
Moon light so bright
It follows you all night.

Save Our Souls
Do you think you need to
save our souls?
What makes you think
our souls need saving?
Do you feel you need to
save our souls?
To save your own... wretched neck?
What have you done so wrong
you feel you need to
save our souls so badly?
“Blessings are for the head
of the righteous one, but
as regards the mouth of the wicked
ones, it covers up violence.” Proverbs 10: 6.
“He that is walking in integrity
will walk in security, but
he that is making his ways crooked
will make himself known.” Proverbs 10: 9.
Some of us need
only to go to church;
for weddings christenings or funerals;
driven in our own hearse.
It was Simon Peter who said...
“For a certainty I perceive
that God is not partial,
but in every nation the man
that fears him and works righteousness
is acceptable to him [God].” Acts 10: 34-35.
“For the hearers of the law are not
the ones righteous before God, but
the doers of law will be declared righteous.
For whenever people of the nations
that do not have law
do by nature the things of the law,
these people, although not having law,
are a law to themselves.
They are the very ones
who demonstrate the matter of the law
to be written in their hearts,
while their conscience is bearing witness
with them and, between
their own thoughts, they are being
accursed or even excused.” Romans 2: 13-15.
What bounty payment price
do you expect
for your supposedly unselfishly
saving our souls?
How is it that you do not
yet know that “Hatred is what stirs
up contentions, but love
covers over even all transgressions.” Proverbs 10: 12.
“By loving-kindness and true-ness
error is atoned for,
and in the fear of Jehovah
one turns away from bad.” Proverbs 16: 6.
What then is the inclination
of your heart? And what
does your conscience bear
witness for you to do?
Do you listen to your heart
your conscience?
Do you live by God’s laws
in righteousness?
Or is sin your joy your stumbling toy?
“And do not become fearful of those
that kill the body but cannot kill the soul;
but rather be in fear of him that can destroy
both soul and body in Gehenna.” Matthew 10: 28.
“For what benefit will it be to a man
if he gains the whole world
but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man
give in exchange for his soul? ” Matthew 16: 26.

A Child Remembers His Mother's Death...
She passed one full moon night...
Don't ask me the day...when it was...
Long from now...
A vague remembrance...of charcoal burning...burning slow anxious pain...
It was one full moon night...
When I had not slept...it was the first night before which, sleep had taken me in her warm feathers...
Where she fled from that night...
My eyes o’er the sleepless stars...
Sought her return...
The night when fear was known to me...
The greatest fears of all...
Fear of losing...
It was one full moon night...
Don't ask me the day
I had grown in a night...
My amuse...
She passed and I just looked...
And looked
Passed to where...
Know I not...
Full moon night ‘t was...
Like today...
Its consistent routines...
Slipped she to irregular tracks..
Past pale radiance
Pale radiance to shine o’er faint nostalgia...
(Woke from innocent carelessness...
To what...I amused... it was uncomfortable...awkward...just too bad to be real.)

I Can Feel You
I dream not riches but a night
Lit by a dim sweet moon light
Me and my sweet loving sweetheart
A sense of oneness and feeling of delight
Hand in hands and eyes in eyes
As if the whole word in front of me lies
None can we see and none can we feel
Night gets deeper, love on the rise
