Del Davis Tree Farm
Del davis sold a christmas tree
Stood up to 8 feet tall
Season was lookin mighty thin
Hed hoped to sell em all
Here he comes with a dollar in his hand
Represents the epitomized man
The boy liked rock n roll
Seemed thats the way he paid his way
With the help of del and them doogs
Theres a bit more joy this holiday
Here he comes...

Long Way To The Top
Ridin' down the highway
Goin' to a show
Stop in all the by-ways
Playin' rock 'n' roll
Gettin' robbed
Gettin' stoned
Gettin' beat up
Broken boned
Gettin' had
Gettin' took
I tell you folks
It's harder than it looks
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
If you think it's easy doin' one night stands
Try playin' in a rock roll band
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
Hotel, motel
Make you wanna cry
Lady do the hard sell
Know the reason why
Gettin' old
Gettin' grey
Gettin' ripped off
Under-paid
Gettin' sold
Second hand
That's how it goes
Playin' in a band
It's a long way to the top
If you wanna rock 'n' roll
It's a long way to the top

If you wanna be a star of stage and screen

The Death Of Rock And Roll
Just the other day I got a call from a friend
"I heard what you been playin' and I think it's a sin
Why can't you make a living like the rest of the boys
Instead of fillin' your head with all that synthesized noise?"
Jackals wait nearby, watching rock and roll die
And no one dared to help it
Vultures fill the sky
I thought we was supposed ta, supposed ta be free
But we all got sold
It must be the Death of Rock and Roll
The critics got together and they started a game
You get your records for nothing
and you call each other names
Things got out of hand and somebody got sore
Now we're all tuning up for the Rock and Roll War
Time to take up sides, helping rock and roll die
Pick up your check at the window
No one left to cry
I thought we was supposed ta, supposed ta be free
But we all got sold
It must be the Death of Rock and Roll
Nobody paid, nobody played, nobody stayed
Just my lonely guitar
Nobody paid, nobody stayed, nobody played
Just my lonely guitar

Another Christmas
We don’t need another Christmas, but, we need the Lord Jesus,
The Savior, Who was long before, this holiday that many adore;
Whether just a day or the season, many forget He is the reason,
Why we observe Christmas at all, now, it’s tainted by man’s fall.
Christmas day will come and go, but Jesus many need to know,
He is the beginning and the end, well before and after my friend;
On this holiday we call Christmas, by many, The Truth is missed,
He’s the Only Gift we must embrace, sent to all, by God’s Grace.
Not only did Christ come before, but only His Gift’s forevermore,
Christmas will be over my friend, unlike my Lord who has no end,
Christ cannot be packed away, for in a believer He’s here to stay,
For The Lord shall never depart, with God’s Spirit within our heart.
Not only for a holiday season, but for each day He is the reason,
For a believer’s life and breath, since for us, He destroyed death,
And given the gift of eternal life, through that babe, who is Christ,
Now, no longer that babe in a stall, but, our Lord reigning over all.
It’s not Christmas but God above, who fills men with joy and love,
Joy that some men just ignore, knowing not what Christmas is for,
Not knowing the God of Eternity, they’ll look for gifts under a tree,
They don’t need another Christmas, but instead need Christ Jesus.
What Christmas Should Be
What wishes will you make
When the season is near
Will your dreams be the same
As they were last year
Will you ask for a little
Will you ask for a lot
And when you make your list
Will there be something you forgot
How about peace on earth
It can't be bought or sold
How about peace this Christmas
And someones hand to hold
How about love in our hearts
And hope for you and me
How about peace on earth
That's what Christmas should be
Will you get all the things
That you've been waiting for
Snowfall and presents
Choire singing at your door
This season will be perfect
Like those picture postcards seem
But is that the anwser
Is that what Christmas really means
How about peace on earth
It can't be bought or sold
How about peace this Christmas
And someones hand to hold
How about love in our hearts
And hope for you and me
How about peace on earth
That's what Christmas should be
What would you sacrifice
What would you give away
For the greatest gift of all
On Christmas day
How about peace on earth
It can't be bought or sold
How about peace this Christmas
And someones hand to hold
How about love in our hearts
And hope for you and me
How about peace on earth
How about peace on earth
It can't be bought or sold
How about peace this Christmas
And someones hand to hold
How about love in our hearts
And hope for you and me
How about peace on earth
How about peace on earth
That's what Christmas should be

Christmas Rock
My billfold doesn't have a prayer
There's Christmas catalogs everywhere
She keeps looking at the jewelry section
Cutting pictures out of her selections
I said we need to hold it down this year
And in her eye she got a big ol' tear
She wants a Christmas rock
But Santa's pockets ain't got no roll
She don't want pots and pans
Just something shinin' on her hand
With an emerald or a diamond on it
I had a budget but she's gone and blown it
Down to the jewelry store, here I go
Hear the clerk say, ho, ho, ho
She wants a Christmas rock
But Santa's pockets ain't got no roll
She don't want anything from sears
No tools or garden shears
There's something special on her mind
And I can't even afford the shine
I wish she'd settled for a long nightshirt
No, I've got to give till it hurts
She wants a Christmas rock
But Santa's pockets ain't got no roll
She don't want pots and pans
Just something shinin' on her hand
With an emerald or a diamond on it
I had a budget but she's gone and blown it
Down to the jewelry store, here I go
Hear the clerk say, ho, ho, ho
She wants a Christmas rock
But Santa's pockets ain't got no roll
She wants a Christmas rock
But ol' Santa's pockets ain't got no roll

When You Rockn Roll With Me
You always were the one that knew
They sold us for the likes of you
I always wanted new surroundings
A room to rent while the lizards lay crying in the heat
Trying to remember who to meet
I would take a foxy kind of stand
While tens of thousands found me in demand
When you rock n roll with me
No one else Id rather be
Nobody here can do it for me
Im in tears again
When you rock n roll with me
Gentle hearts are counted down
The queue is out of sight and out of sounds
Me, Im out of breath, but not quite doubting
Ive found a door which lets me out!
When you rock n roll with me
No one else Id rather be
Nobody down here can do it for me
Im in tears again
When you rock n roll with me
Oooo-oo-oo-oo
Oh, when you rock n roll with me,
Theres no one else Id rather be, oh
Nobody down here can do it for me
When you rock n roll with me
When you rock n roll, rock n roll with me
No one else Id rather, Id rather be
Nobody down here can do it for me

Ill Never Be...
Everybodys lookin at me
Thought I saw my face on mtv
Or a magazine that she wont read, stole
Her heart but its not my fault, lookin at
My picture she forgot about her boyfriend, yea.
Ill never be...a rock and roll star
Ill never be...anything, anything at all,
Drives me crazy, cant get away,
Somebody tell me...when do we get paid?
Everybodys lookin at me
Thought by now Id be on mtv
Or a magazine like seventeen or rolling stone,
And I wont be alone with your
Money in my pocket and face on your t-shirt yea.
Ill never be...a rock and roll star
Ill never be...anything, anything at all,
Drives me crazy, cant get away,
But I try and I try and I try and I try
Every day
Every day
Said Ill never be, a rock and roll star
Ill never be...anything, anything at all.

Its Only Rock n Roll
(rodney crowell)
Well, its only rock and roll keep you running from yourself
When the only way to slow down is to fall
And its only rock and roll that caused you to leave home
When the only way to get back is to crawl
But the record people love you they can get you on the bill
Change your name to money dress up fit to kill
People all around you everywhere you go
Dont worry if they love you son its only rock and roll
Yes and its only rock and roll keep you jumping all the time
When you really ought to sit this one out
And its only rock and roll keep on messin with your mind when
You dont know what theyre talkin about
All around the world everywhere you go
People got to have it cause its only rock and roll
Its only rock and roll yes its only rock and roll
People all around you everywhere you go
Dont worry if they love you, cause its only rock and roll
Well its only rock and roll when your moneys in the mail
And your loves on the back of the bus
And its only rock and roll when your records start to sell
And you dont know why theyre making such a fuss
Telephone receiver ringin off the wall
Can I get witness each and every call
Second that emotion chased into your soul
Dont worry lest you linger, son its only rock and roll
Its only rock and roll yes its only rock and roll
People all around you everywhere you go
Dont worry if they love you, cause its only rock and roll
Its only rock and roll. yeah its only rock and roll
All around the world everywhere you go
People got to have it son its only rock and roll

God Gave Rock 'n' Roll To You
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone
Do you know what you want? You don't know for sure
You don't feel right, you can't find a cure
And you're gettin' less than what you're lookin' for
You don't have money or a fancy car
And you're tired of wishin' on a falling star
You gotta put your faith in a loud guitar
Chorus:
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone (oh yeah)
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul of everyone
"Now listen"
If you wanna be a singer, or play guitar
Man, you gotta sweat or you won't get far
Cause it's never too late to work nine-to-five
You can take a stand, or you can compromise
You can work real hard or just fantasize
But you don't start livin' till you realize - "I gotta tell ya!"
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to you
Put it in the soul
(Instrumental break)
God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to be sung)
Gave rock and roll to you, gave rock and roll to everyone
God gave rock and roll to you (to everyone he gave the song to be sung)
Gave rock and roll to you, saved rock and roll for everyone
Saved rock and roll
chorus repeats out...
"I know life sometimes can get tough! And I know life sometimes can be a
drag!
But people, we have been given a gift, we have been given a road
And that road's name is... Rock and Roll

Just Another Name For Rock & Roll
Bill dees
Well you can act like a monkey, shake your hands do the limbo till you cant stand,
Well you can mash your potata, hippy hippy shake, but the beats still wild and your feet still ache
I say its just another name for rock and roll everybody, everybody sing
Its just another name for rock and roll, rock and roll
Well you can do the duck, walk your dog down the street, loop the loop to a swingin beat,
You can twist and shout and do the stomp, a chase a chicken on a pony romp ah but
Its just another name for rock and roll everybody, everybody sing,
Its just another name for rock and roll, rock and roll
Well they all try to shake it another way, but they rock, they roll just the same
They only call it by another name and I dont care what they say, woah,oh,oh
Down in the jungle where the tree tops are steep, they get the fever for a bongo beat,
They do the ubangie stomp, the safari hop, do the monkey until they drop
Ah but its just another name for rock and roll everybody, everybody sing
Its just another name for rock and roll, everybody, everybody sing
Its just another name for rock and roll everybody, everybody sing.......

Too Late For Merry Christmas?
Is it too late for Merry Christmas, too late for the greatest of Gifts?
Is God’s greatest offer limited to, a holiday known to me and you?
Some have Christmas in July, the reason for it, do you know why?
Is Christmas a day Christ was born, a day today, many just scorn?
Can’t we celebrate all year long, Christ with hearts filled with song?
Christmas for obvious reason, comes around for only one season,
And our Christmas as the holiday, with the tree, gets packed away,
But Christ throughout all the year, through His Spirit is always here.
Christmas is just a reminder for, a world trying to dismiss our Lord,
Where many don’t know who He is, while they relish receiving gifts,
When Christmas is over for them, we go on with Christ, as a friend,
Who is with us all year through, to offer God’s Gift to men like you.
So this day and all year through, this happy greeting I’ll say to you,
Merry Christmas and I’m not late, giving you words to contemplate.
Not too late to share with one, greetings in the name of God’s Son,
Who came not to make a holiday, but be for all God’s Narrow Way.
It’s never too late at all for me, to greet you in the power of Calvary,
Where Christmas was truly sealed; and all become spiritually healed,
Point Christmas to Calvary’s Cross; God’s Gift to the spiritually lost,
Away from all Christmas has become, and back to God’s Only Son.

A Christmas Tree! A Christmas Tree!
A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
With dark green needled memories
Of childhood dreams and mysteries
Wrapped present-like in front of me.
A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
I glimpse a past wherein i see
The child that then grew into me
Not forward fast but haltingly.
A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
A time for being with family
A time that's gone so fleetingly
Yet lives for always deep in me.
A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
When twelfth night comes whole hauntingly
One lingered look and then i see
No Christmas tree where it would be.
A Christmas tree! A Christmas tree!
With feelings now felt longingly
No corner in my house to see
The magic of that Christmas tree.

Christmas Wishes (written with Chloe Labrie)
For Christmas wishes, I only have one.
I don't want a vacation under the sun.
I don't want the presents under the tree,
I only want you to be with me.
The snow is falling lightly,
And Christmas is coming near,
But I don't want the presents that I may receive.
What would fill my heart with cheer,
Is you just being here.
When our love is matched with Christmas spirit,
There is just no way to cure it.
I don't need any twinkling Christmas lights,
Just you alone makes my holidays bright.
When you come around,
You'll have to keep my feet on the ground.
To make my perfect holiday,
I don't want you to stay away.
Please grant my Christmas wish,
Because you're the only thing on my Christmas list.

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Every couple tries to stop
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
And we'll do some caroling
You will get a sentimental feeling
When you hear
Voices singing "Let's be jolly
Deck the halls with boughs of holly"
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
Have a happy holiday
Everyone dancing merrily
In the new old-fashioned way
