God is the immemorial refuge of the incompetent, thehelpless, the miserable. They find not only sanctuary in His arms, but also a kind of superiority, soothing to their macerated egos; He will set them above their betters.

Sanctuary
I walk the twilight zone beyond the city lights
In search of peace of mind I stole into the night
Tried to hide away from everything that threatened
My existence I showed resistance
Up there big brother's got his tabs on where I go
They tried to force me down a road where I can go
So you imagine, how I left when you said
"Baby, I can understand" touched my hand
You are my sanctuary when I'm in your arms, you take me away
You are my sanctuary when I'm in despair
I reach out and you're always there, you're always there
Beyond the skyways through the lookin' glass I roam
Into the never, never I found a star that glowed
And I descended on my last true wing and prayer
And you were standing there, the one that cared
You are my sanctary when I'm in your arms, you take me away
You are my sanctary when I'm in despair
I reach out and you're always there, you're always there
When there's no escaping and I panic in the night
I can run to you for cover 'cause you'll always make it right
You are my sanctuary when I'm in your arms, you take me away
You are my sanctuary when I'm in despair
I reach out and you're always there, you're always there
break
You are my sanctuary when I'm in your arms you take me away
You are my sanctuary

Time Immemorial
Start in the way that you want to go on
Tear down the fence that you sit upon
It was good while it lasted but now it has gone
So face up to what you have done
For time immemorial, time immemorial, time
A glorious contest to find the invincible one
And I will know everything there is
Goodbye to you and your money
And I will go anywhere you say
If you take away all the cameras
The house that we live in is falling apart
There's no guarantee coz we got it for free
And all the pretenders to somebody's throne
Are finding it out on there own
For time immemorial, time immemorial, time
We'll go on a mission to find the invincible one
And I will know everything there is
Goodbye to you and your public
And I will go everywhere you say
If you don't charge admission
Okay, we're lucky, but then again...
For time immemorial, time immemorial, time
We'll go on a mission to find the invincible one
And I will know everything there is
Goodbye to you and your money
And I will go anywhere you say
If you sell me shown the secrets of your house
And I will know everything you say
Take away all the cameras, the cameras
And I will go anywhere you say
If you don't charge admission, admission

This Exchange Is the Best One that Is Accepted
Satisfying the attention seeking egos of others,
Is easy.
Express a life lived that is disliked.
Complain about other people.
And pretend you are miserable on a daily basis.
People love to feel,
Someone besides themselves...
Shares a feeling of unhappiness,
That is heard and confessed.
And left to go unaddressed.
This exchange is the best one that is accepted,
By those seeking to satisfy with attention...
A boosting done to uplift their egos.

Soul Sanctuary
Loving u in silence, knowing that its right
Under your gaze I ponder this love 2night
Unbothered by the chaos swirling round outside
In your arms is where I want 2 live and die
Someplace where your face is all that I see
Where the love we make intoxicates intensively
In a mirror where your sweet reflection used 2 be
There is hope, there is joy, my soul sanctuary
My soul sanctuary
Loving u in silence, neverending kiss
Under your gaze I can peacefully exist
Sanctuary, baby, nothing compares 2 this
In my darkest hour u can be my bliss (bliss)
All of me I give 2 thee down at your feet
The reassurance in your rhythm speaks 2 me
Over and over your screams are like a prayer
In the dark, u are there (u are there), my soul sanctuary
Ooh, my soul sanctuary
Loving u in passion unmolested in this garden
Mango and nectarine, sweet honeydew, I beg your pardon
My mouth runneth over from ecstasy
Its true (its true), baby, I love the taste of u
Loving u in silence, knowing that its right
Under your gaze I ponder this love 2night
Unbothered by the chaos swirling around outside
In your arms is where I wanna live and die
Someplace (someplace) where your face is all that I see (all that I see)
Where the love we make intoxicates intensively (intensively)
In a mirror (mirror) where your sweet (sweet) reflections used 2 be
There is hope, there is joy, my soul sanctuary
My soul sanctuary
(my, my, my, my, my soul) my soul sanctuary
Oh, my soul sanctuary
Soul sanctuary

Where Is My Boy
Where is my boy?
I saw you come out of a scene.
Maybe in some kind of dream.
Something that never comes.
Time that I take...
See over in arms Ill race.
Ill race in to find you.
Ill race in to find you.
Time stands.
I open your house to my world.
I see you come out of it all,
Unharmed and unscathed,
And shoutin, oh.
Come on in.
In houses I live in.
And changes youre making.
To the state of affairs.
Callin where is my boy?
I have seen you so often.
I cry where is my boy?
Oh, have you all forgotten?
That in some kind of dream,
Have I seen you before.
Oh have I seen you before?
Oh, where is my boy?
So come all the way.
Changin the number.
Changin the house where you live.
Change your lines.
Have I seen you before?
In some kind of a dream?
In a place youve forgotten.
A place Ive forgotten.
So where is my boy?
When I kneel in your arms,
I flew awry.
Where is my boy?
Have I seen you before?
In some kind of a dream?
Have I seen you before?
In some kind of a dream?
Your arms and your legs are shattered.
Where is my boy?
Where is my boy?
I said where is my boy?
Have I seen you before?
When I look in your eye,
Tell me he had to go.
Said I seen you before,
In some kind of dream.
Seems Ive seen you before.
In some kind of a dream.
I say where is the boy?
Have I seen you before?
Yeah, I saw you before.
In some kind of a dream.
I say where was my head?
When I needed it most?
Oh, I stayed here before,
Yes I stay in the place I know.

Keepers Of Restrictions
Everytime those incompetent,
Take the opportunity
To offend others with known capabilities,
They widen one's vision
With an obviousness more can see.
If one is capable and is disrespected,
It has not been in their hands
That a quality of life has been allowed to decrease.
It has been those holding onto the reigns historically
Proving themselves to be the creators of conflict.
With more of it on the increase.
And,
As of yet
Amongst themselves,
They have yet to find a logical solution.
Or admit that their mentalities,
Feed on insecurities they can not cease.
To do so would expose them,
As the keepers of restrictions.
And this prevents those with common sense,
Displaying an unquestionable intelligence.
From obtaining some credit that corrects,
What those incompetent can not comprehend.
Stands in the way in initiating any progess.
Those incompetent only concern themselves,
With images to address that which impresses.
With a flowing of unstoppable, symbolic and idol gestures.

Brink Of Extinction
Creating with a solicitation,
A lazy and undisciplined existence.
To identify a segment of one's population,
As dysfunctional.
May for those responsible,
In the implementation of this...
Boost egos.
But cost effective?
No!
Only fools feeding an isolated greed,
Would keep this as their belief.
Only a complete ignorance,
Would perceive this approach...
To be an effective reflection of greatness.
Those assigned to oppress minds,
From the time of their birth...
Would find this uplifting to their self worth.
And not an encouragement nourishing,
One to the brink of extinction.
Those assigned to oppress minds,
Of those threatening their insecurities...
Eventually will find this point of view of superiority,
A mentally degrading aspect...
Of their own growth process and not an asset.

It isn't the incompetent who destroys an organization. The incompetent never gets in a position to destroy it. It is those who have achieved something and want to rest upon their achievements who are forever clogging things up.

Be Cautious...
all those that surround us
are arms
poised to embrace us
yet not all are true
though warm
some are
there to take some parts of you
and not return them
making you feel so incomplete
and incompetent
and when you finally give up
those arms set you aside
like you are
a leper
still wanting the cure
the message is clear
you must also learn to choose
which arms are
snakes assuming the shapes
of fingers
learn somehow
to hide distrust
be not mislead
into the vast ocean
of despair
put your arms around
your shoulder
let your palms feel
the truths
even still at the surface
of disbelief

Morning Refuge Prayer
i take refuge in the Buddha
who shows us the path.
i take refuge in the Dharma
that teaches us to walk in compassion.
i take refuge in the Sangha
the family of living beings working together for peace.
i take refuge in Jesus
in the way that He lived and died.
in the Kingdom of Heaven within us
that heals the sick and feeds the hungry.
i take refuge in the Tao
in the uncarved block.
in water flowing over rocks
finding its own way.
i take refuge in the Great Spirit
in the embrace of Mother Earth.
i take refuge in the wind and rain
in the thunder and lightning,
in the stillness of night.
i take refuge in the howl of the wolf,
in the eyes of small children.
in the truth that breaks down the wall
between living and existing, between sorrow and joy.

What kind of things could make a grown man cry?
What kind of things could make a grown man cry?
To cry in public, not just to himself.
What lacrimatic views must pierce his eye,
unleashed by secrets hidden on that shelf?
For men have places, locked away from all
who try to find the weaknesses within.
A sanctuary, with the wherewithall
to glorify what others see as sin.
The rawest of emotions find their place.
The bullies and the bullied ones combine,
forgotten friends and loved ones with no face
may not cross this imaginary line.
What kind of things could make a grown man cry?
The losses, love is doomed to magnify.

Could I Be Incompetent?
Could I be incompetent?
No.
But I will admit,
I can be stupid, ignorant and foolish...
When making incorrect decisions.
With a hopeful learning from them,
If I take the time to comprehend what I've done.
But incompetent?
No.
No, I am not.
And I am sure if I had been,
Someone who's opinion I accept...
And has shown to me their admiration,
Would have already brought that to my attention.

The Alone Tree
She once sat beneath its welcoming arms
Refreshed by its shade and comfort
Sharing all manner of childhood secrets;
Aptly named, her “alone tree.”
There she found refuge for hurtful tears,
A sanctuary to explore her hopes,
Her dreams and fears;
Formed a special bond
That anchored them both to this earth.
Each waxed strong
On their own as together
They weathered the storms.
And, it stands there still,
Its quiet strength and beauty
Still visible there in the morning mist...
That lone tree in the meadow of childhood;
Whose old friend long ago moved on to other fields.
