speaking often, never talking.
listening, but never hearing.
touching, but never feeling.
inhaling, but never exhaling.

with nothing behind their
hollow eyes.... insulated,
burning nuclear fuel
in a carbon world...

on the foot...

Feeling Hollow Is Not A Crime

feeling hollow is not a crime,
why worry? i like to feel hollow at times
i feel so light and guiltless, and i sit on a bench
and look at passersby, guessing what is also
inside their minds: that one is hollow too,
she is floating in air like a butterfly
and that one is hollower than thou
she has a halo.

now i feel hollow too, but i get so used to it
that it has gained weight like a feather from
the status of air, and i have become so sensitive
to what other hollow people like me feel,
to the nth time of their empty lives,
but, know what, only for a little time,
hollow minds become filled,
like hollow souls too filled with so
much divine grace.

it is the hollow man
who abandons
God.

God waits.
The hollow man floats away.

God goes near him.
The hollow man drifts farther away
from His Bounty.

God understands.
The hollow man does not listen.
Ears are perforated
by his ego and
pride.

Then, the end has come.
The hollow man goes
to hell.

Hollow Man

I think I have become one of the hollow men
As I shine on the outside more these days
I can feel the outside feeding on my inside
Leaves a growing darkness in its place
I think I have become one of the hollow men
I think I have become one of the lonely
Now that everybody talks to me
I feel I have become one of the empty
Hollow men can stop you with the twinkling of an eye
Hollow men can take you without even reaching out
Hollow men have got you long before you realise
The poison paralyses
I think I have become one of a pair of men
It's a feeling I've been having for some time
I look down upon myself and watch my movements
A blind eye sees the fragile vandalised
Watch this cold world dishing up these endless hollow men
Find us anywhere you look
Come and meet our friends
Stand us in our silly clothes
Put our batteries in
Line us up like fairground ducks

Aardwolf in The Void

blackberry trimmings and catkins shuffled to the roadside
to join maple and alder branches snapped by a hard rain
it is hollow
full with many
yet hollow
it confuses time with calendars
it sings of green pines
it is hollow
full with many

another year

it is a writhing chrysalis
as the nautilus makes its spiraling rounds
periwinkles sing the softer shades of blue

Heat Lightning...

heat lightning...
we speak hollow words,
build hollow houses,
live hollow lives.

poverty whispers,
we turn away.
poverty shouts,
we walk away!

orphans, or bastards,
we defile our beds.
our mothers lay dying,
our fathers forgotten.

the wheel turns,
we drink, and move on.
our sisters buried,
our brothers on the street.

churches and graveyards,
flags drenched in blood.
stray dogs, lost pilgrims,
