Skylark
Skylark
Have you anything to say to me?
Wont you tell me where my love can be?
Is there a meadow in the mist
Where someones waiting to be kissed?
Oh skylark
Have you seen a valley green with spring?
Where my heart can go a journeying
Over the shadows and the rain
To a blossom covered lane
And in your lonely flight
Havent you heard the music in the night?
Wonderful music
Faint as a will o the wisp
Crazy as a loon
Sad as a gypsty serenading the moon
Oh skylark
I dont know if you can find these things
But my heart is riding on your wings
So if you see them anywhere
Wont you lead me there
Oh skylark
Wont you lead me there?

Inspiration
I am watching a skylark
flying skyward.
It's famous for its song.
I am sitting here, on the top of a wall, and
thinking........
What is my actual liking?
I have spent too much time with my colleagues.
I have had my periods with relatives.
I like very much some of them.
But, Alas! I am still the same.
Whatsoever, now, I am watching a tiller.
He spends his time to make us survivor (in this world) .
Many poets have supplicated prayer to God for them
as they are the bearer of living-flow.
But, I am not a tiller.
I want to do something similler.
I will do the second thing
which is needful for a human being.
I will teach the glorious and heavenly lesson to mankind.
Thus, I may become like the skylark, and then
I would fly thoughtlessly and hourly like the skylark.

The Skylark
The earth was green, the sky was blue:
I saw and heard one sunny morn,
A skylark hang between the two,
A singing speck above the corn;
A stage below, in gay accord,
White butterflies danced on the wing,
And still the singing skylark soared,
And silent sank and soared to sing.
The cornfield stretched a tender green
To right and left beside my walks;
I knew he had a nest unseen
Somewhere among the million stalks:
And as I paused to hear his song,
While swift the sunny moments slid,
Perhaps his mate sat listening long,
And listened longer than I did.

Songs In Sleep
If I could frame for you in cunning words
The songs my heart in sleep is often singing,
You'd fancy, love, an orquestra of birds
Upon their quivering throats the dawn were bringing.
Now in some wild, weird flush of melody
I'd feign the skylark, with his music sifting
The final films of nightshade from the lea,
And all the waking world to heaven uplifting.
Then, ere the lengthening liquid solo went--
In skylark fashion--out of hearing o'er us,
I'd mock with skill, as sweet as my intent,
Thrustle and blackbird coming in for chorus.
There's not a strain of joy the birds could sing,
I could not set to words that I've been dreaming;
But when I wake, alas! they all take wing,
And leave of music but the empty seeming.
Believe me, love, I sing to you, in sleep,
Songs that if voiced would waken you to pleasure;
Would you could hear them in your dreams, and keep
Their inner meaning, though you missed the measure.

The Skylark
'It is the skylark come.' For shame!
Robert-a-Cockney is thy name:
Robert-a-Field would surely know
That skylarks, bless them, never go!
* * *
Love of my life, bear witness here
How we have heard them all the year;
How to the skylark's song are set
The days we never can forget.
At Rustington, do you remember?
We heard the skylarks in December;
In January above the snow
They sang to us by Hurstmonceux
Once in the keenest airs of March
We heard them near the Marble Arch;
Their April song thrilled Tonbridge air;
May found them singing everywhere;
And oh, in Sheppey, how their tune
Rhymed with the bean-flower scent in June.
One unforgotten day at Rye
They sang a love-song in July;
In August, hard by Lewes town,
They sang of joy 'twixt sky and down;
And in September's golden spell
We heard them singing on Scaw Fell.
October's leaves were brown and sere,
But skylarks sang by Teston Weir;
And in November, at Mount's Bay,
They sang upon our wedding day!
* * *
Mr.-a-Field, go forth, go forth,
Go east and west and south and north;
You'll always find the furze in flower,
Find every hour the lovers' hour,
And, by my faith in love and rhyme,
The skylark singing all the time!

Song--Spring
When buds of palm do burst and spread
Their downy feathers in the lane,
And orchard blossoms, white and red,
Breathe Spring delight for Autumn gain;
And the skylark shakes his wings in the rain;
O then is the season to look for a bride!
Choose her warily, woo her unseen;
For the choicest maids are those that hide
Like dewy violets under the green.

I Wont Cry
Where to begin to end uncertainty
Do I leave silently or boldly say farewell
How can I think of times that used to be
And find the smile I need to wish you well
But I wont cry for dusty memories
No I wont cry for dreams that couldnt be
No I wont cry
The daffodils the sorry candlelight
To buy my heart when loveless words were spoken
Too many tears to welcome in the night
Too many promises the days have broken
So I wont cry for kisses out of reach
No I wont cry Ill practice what I preach
And I wont cry
No flowers now no silly candle games
Somehow my feet wont lead me to the doorway
And so I stand and wonder whos to blame
Waiting for one last word that calls to beg me stay
But I wont cry if that world never comes
No I wont cry for now the storys done
And I wont crygoodbye

Lead Me, Guide Me
(words & music by doris akers)
Lead me oh lord, wont you lead me
I am tired and I need thy strength and power
To guide me over my darkest hour
For just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh lord, wont you lead me
Lead me, guide me along the way
For if you lead me I cannot stray
Or just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh lord, wont you lead me
I am lost if you take your hand from me
I am blind without try light to see
Lord just always let me thy servant be
Lead me oh lord, wont you lead me
Lead me, guide me along the way
For if you lead me I cannot stray
Lord just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh lord, wont you lead me

Wont Take No For An Answer
Words and music by rick nielsen
Hey wait a minute
Youre a little lost
Things keep on changing
And so does the cost
Of doin business with yourself
Dont want nobody else, no
I wont take no for an answer
I wont take no from you
I wont take no for an answer
I wont take no, no, no, no
Hey mister sister
Leave me alone
Today kids dont grow up
They just grow alone
Guess you know how bad I felt
When you were with somebody else, oh
I wont take no for an answer
I wont take no from you
I wont take no for an answer
I wont take no, no, no, no
Hey
You
Hey, hey you
I wont take no for an answer
I wont take no from you
I wont take no for an answer
I wont no
I wont no for an answer
I wont no (for an answer)

The Skylark Sing Above The Mountain
The skylark sing above the mountain brow
And robin piping on the leafy bough
And lush green meads scent of the blooms of May
And it's Spring in a green Land far away.
I feel homesick at this time every year
I close my eyes the dunnock's voice i hear
In leafy grove the chaffinch chirp and sing
It would be nice to be home for the Spring.
It would be nice to go back home right now
When there is so much beauty to be seen
The birds are singing, wildflowers everywhere
And woods and valleys wear their richest green.
The currawongs are down from higher hills
I hear them calling on the tall gum trees
And morning air has breath of Winter chill
Whilst it's Spring in Ireland far beyond the seas.
If i had enough money i would go back home
If only for a month or even two
Enjoy the Spring, enjoy the peace and quiet
And do the things that i most like to do.
The skylark sing above the mountain brow
And robin piping on the leafy bough
And lush green meads scent of the blooms of May
And it's Spring in a green Land far away.

There Is No Heart That Wont Heal
So youre thinking that its over
Cause he said goodbye
Left you with nothing
But the tears in your eyes
You dont know how youre gonna get through this pain
But the rain wont claim your days forever
Chorus
There is no heart that wont heal
There is no tear that wont dry
No matter how lost you feel
Remember there is a light on the other side
There is no night that wont end
No sun that wont shine again
Therell be an end to this hurt that you feel
There is no heart that wont heal
Love can lift you to the heavens
But it can let you down
And the fall aint always easy
I know what youre feeling right now
But in time you wont find a trace of this pain
You get rainbows from rain just remember
Chorus
There is no heart that wont heal
There is no heart that wont heal
There is no heart that wont heal
Hold on gotta be strong

Those Green Fields Of Kilmeedy
Those green fields of Kilmeedy I do remember still
They meet the gorse and bracken at the foot of Clara hill
A place of peace and beauty with mountains all around
Scarce touched by man's pollution where Nature's joys abound.
Even in summer in Kilmeedy the dawn comes with a chill
But skylark he is piping above the bracken hill
Through Spring and through the Summer he sings all through the day
And I fancy I can hear him o'er mountains far away.
The robin he is piping on flowering hawthorn tree
Across the miles of distance his music comes to me
And dunnock on the hedgerow and dipper in the stream
And song thrush piping gaily on ash by old bohreen.
All through the Spring and Summer the wildering flowers are seen
But green fields of Kilmeedy not always quite so green
In November and December the winds of Winter blow
And January and February bring frost and sleet and snow.
In mid March in Kilmeedy the first wildflowers appear
And weather still quite chilly though days of bloom are near
But April brings her blossoms and leaves behind her green
And May comes o'er the mountain the summer beauty queen.
Those green fields of kilmeedy I see them every day
And I hear the skylark piping o'er hillsides far away
And dunnock on the hedgerow and the dipper in the stream
And those green fields of Kilmeedy have never looked so green.

Even In The Quietest Moments
Even in the quietest moments
I wish I knew what I had to do
And even though the sun is shining
Well I feel the rain --- here it comes again, dear
And even when you showed me
My heart was out of tune
For theres a shadow of doubt thats not letting me find you too soon
The music that you gave me
The language of my soul
Oh lord, I want to be with you.
Wont you let me come in from the cold?
Dont you let the sun fade away
Dont you let the sun fade away
Dont you let the sun be leaving
Wont you come to me soon
And even though the stars are listening
And the oceans deep, I just go to sleep
And then I create a silent movie
You become the star, is that what you are, dear?
Your whisper tells a secret
Your laughter brings me joy
And a wonder of feeling Im natures own little boy
But still the tears keep falling
Theyre raining from the sky
Well theres a lot of me got to go under before I get high
Dont you let the sun disappear
Dont you let the sun disappear
Dont you let the sun be leaving
No, you cant be leaving my life
Say that you wont be leaving my life
Say that you wont be leaving my life
Say wont you please, stay wont you please
Say wont you please, stay wont you please
Lord, wont you come and get into my life
Lord, wont you come and get into my life
Say wont you please, stay wont you please
Say wont you please, stay wont you please
Lord, dont go
And even when the song is over
Where have I been --- was it just a dream?
And though your door is always open
Where do I begin --- may I please come in, dear?

Please Dont Let It Go
Were drifting apart,
But I wont give up, no
Wherever you are I belong
Love sings us a song
But we fail to sing along
Wherever you go I will follow
So please dont let it
Please dont let it go
And if you wont let it I wont let it go
Please dont let it
Please dont let it go
And if you wont let it I wont let it go
You try to be strong
Youve tried it oh so long
Whatever I do I do it wrong
And love sings our song
So eager to sing along
Whatever you do I know it
So please dont let it
Please dont let it go
Cause if you wont let it I wont let it go
Please dont let it
Please dont let it go
Cause if you wont let it I wont let it go
Dont let go of life
Let go of love
Let go of all we have
So dont let go of trust
Let go of lust
Let go of all we share
So please dont let it
Please dont let it go
And if you wont let it I wont let it go
Please dont let it
Please dont let it go
And if you wont let it I wont let it go
So please dont let it
Please dont let it go
Cause if you wont let it I wont let it go
Please dont let it
Please dont let it go
Cause if you wont let it I wont let it go

To Hope
Oh! take, young Seraph, take thy harp,
And play to me so cheerily;
For grief is dark, and care is sharp,
And life wears on so wearily.
Oh! take thy harp!
Oh! sing as thou wert wont to do,
When, all youth's sunny season long,
I sat and listened to thy song,
And yet 'twas ever, ever new,
With magic in its heaven-tuned string—
The future bliss thy constant theme.
Oh! then each little woe took wing
Away, like phantoms of a dream;
As if each sound
That flutter'd round,
Had floated over Lethe's stream!
By all those bright and happy hours
We spent in life's sweet eastern bow'rs,
Where thou wouldst sit and smile, and show,
Ere buds were come, where flowers would blow,
And oft anticipate the rise
Of life's warm sun that scaled the skies;
By many a story of love and glory,
And friendships promised oft to me;
By all the faith I lent to thee,—
Oh! take, young Seraph, take thy harp,
And play to me so cheerily;
For grief is dark, and care is sharp,
And life wears on so wearily.
Oh! take thy harp!
Perchance the strings will sound less clear,
That long have lain neglected by
In sorrow's misty atmosphere;
It ne'er may speak as it hath spoken
Such joyous notes so brisk and high;
But are its golden chords all broken?
Are there not some, though weak and low,
To play a lullaby to woe?
But thou canst sing of love no more,
For Celia show'd that dream was vain;
And many a fancied bliss is o'er,
That comes not e'en in dreams again.
Alas! alas!
How pleasures pass,
And leave thee now no subject, save
The peace and bliss beyond the grave!
Then be thy flight among the skies:
Take, then, oh! take the skylark's wing,
And leave dull earth, and heavenward rise
O'er all its tearful clouds, and sing
On skylark's wing!
Another life-spring there adorns
Another youth—without the dread
Of cruel care, whose crown of thorns
Is here for manhood's aching head.
Oh! there are realms of welcome day,
A world where tears are wiped away!
Then be thy flight among the skies:
Take, then, oh! take the skylark's wing,
And leave dull earth, and heavenward rise
O'er all its tearful clouds, and sing
On skylark's wing!

Watered Down Love
Love thats pure hopes all things,
Believes all things, wont pull no strings,
Wont sneak up into your room, tall, dark and handsome,
Capture your heart and hold it for ransom.
You dont want a love thats pure
You wanna drown love
You want a watered-down love
Love thats pure, it dont make no claims,
Intercedes for you stead of casting you blame,
Will not deceive you or lead you to transgression,
Wont write it up and make you sign a false confession.
You dont want a love thats pure
You wanna drown love
You want a watered-down love
Love thats pure wont lead you astray,
Wont hold you back, wont mess up your day,
Wont pervert you, corrupt you with stupid wishes,
It dont make you envious, it dont make you suspicious.
You dont want a love thats pure
You wanna drown love
You want a watered-down love
Love thats pure aint no accident,
Always on time, is always content,
An eternal flame, quietly burning,
Never needs to be proud, restlessly yearning.
You dont want a love thats pure
You wanna drown love
You want a watered-down love

The Boy And The Skylark
A FABLE.
'A wicked action fear to do,
When you are by yourself; for though
You think you can conceal it,
A little bird that's in the air
The hidden trespass shall declare,
And openly reveal it.'
Richard this saying oft had heard,
Until the sight of any bird
Would set his heart a-quaking;
He saw a host of wingëd spies
For ever o'er him in the skies,
Note of his actions taking.
This pious precept, while it stood
In his remembrance, kept him good
When nobody was by him;
For though no human eye was near,
Yet Richard still did wisely fear
The little bird should spy him.
But best resolves will sometimes sleep;
Poor frailty will not always keep
From that which is forbidden;
And Richard, one day, left alone,
Laid hands on something not his own,
And hoped the theft was hidden.
His conscience slept a day or two,
As it is very apt to do
When we with pains suppress it:
And though at times a slight remorse
Would raise a pang, it had not force
To make him yet confess it.
When on a day, as he abroad
Walked by his mother, in their road
He heard a skylark singing;
Smit with the sound, a flood of tears
Proclaimed the superstitious fears
His inmost bosom wringing.
His mother, wondering, saw him cry,
And fondly asked the reason why;
Then Richard made confession,
And said, he feared the little bird
He singing in the air had heard
Was telling his transgression.
The words which Richard spoke below,
As sounds by nature upwards go,
Were to the skylark carried;
The airy traveller with surprise
To hear his sayings, in the skies
On his mid journey tarried.
His anger then the bird exprest:
'Sure, since the day I left the nest,
I ne'er heard folly uttered
So fit to move a skylark's mirth,
As what this little son of earth
Hath in his grossness muttered.
'Dull fool! to think we sons of air
On man's low actions waste a care,
His virtues or his vices;
Or soaring on the summer gales,
That we should stoop to carry tales
Of him or his devices!
'Our songs are all of the delights
We find in our wild airy flights,
And heavenly exaltation;
The earth you mortals have at heart
Is all too gross to have a part
In skylark's conversation.
'Unless it be in what green field
Or meadow we our nest may build,
Midst flowering broom, or heather;
From whence our new-fledged offspring may
With least obstruction wing their way
Up to the walks of ether.
'Mistaken fool! man needs not us
His secret merits to discuss,
Or spy out his transgression;
When once he feels his conscience stirred,
That voice within him is the bird
That moves him to confession.'

I Wont Dance
The lyrics were first written by oscar hammerstein ii and otto harbach for the london musical three
Sisters, which premiered
In 1934. then when rko released the screen version in march of 1935, dorothy fields and jimmy mchugh
Changed the lyrics of the song, only keeping the title which oscar hammerstein ii originated.
I wont dance, dont ask me
I wont dance, dont ask me
I wont dance madame with you
My heart wont
Let me feet do things that they sould do
You know what, youre lovely you know what, youre so lovely
And you know what you do to me
Im like an ocean wave thats bumped on the shore
I feel so absolutely
Stumped on the floor
When you dance, youre chairming and youre gentle
Specially when you do the
Continental
But this feeling isnt purely mental
For heaven rest us, Im not asbestos
And thats why i
Wont dance, why sould i?
I wont dance, how could i?
I wont dance, merçi beacoup
I know
That music lead the way to romance
So if I hold you in arms I wont dance
I wont dance, dont ask me
I wont dance, dont ask me
I wont dance madame with you
My heart wont let me feet do things that
They want to do
You know what, youre so lovely, ring a ding-ding, youre lovely
And you know what
You do to me
Im like an ocean wave thats bumped on the shore
I feel so absolutely stumped on the
Floor
When you dance, youre chairming and youre gentle
Specially when you do the continental
But
This feeling isnt purely mental
For heaven rest us, Im not asbestos
And thats why I wont dance, i
Wont dance
I wont dance, merci beaucoup
I know that music lead the way to romance
So if I hold
You in arms I wont dance

They Wont See You
Lets have a party, lets go insane
Lets dance and party, out in the rain
Lets tell the crew, weve broken their brains
I know they will laugh, until they get sick
Theyre caught in the act, stuck in the thick
Lets go to the warsaw and try to find peace
Lets call up the queen and bother her niece
Lets really drink up and pile on the crease
They say youll be back,
But dont come too near
They have the attack if you disappear
But they wont see you
(the wont see you)
I said they wont see you
(they wont see you)
They wont see you
(they wont see you)
Lets have a trauma, lets have a shock
Lets stare at the tv and relate to spock
Lets never answer the novelty knock
They get so upset when you come around
They wont let you forget until you come down
They wont see you (they wont see you)
I said they wont see you (they wont see you)
They wont see you (they wont see you)
I said they wont see you (they wont see you)
They wont see you (they wont see you)
They wont see you, they wont see you
