God Waits For You T0 Come
Jesus God, our Healer, Friend
Ever present loving Savior
Come to Him, all you who weary
Heavy laden, life survivors.
He will never turn you away
Just come and call upon His Name
You need not excellently pray
Be yourself, He'll take you just the same.
In life, we all go around searching
Like wandering sheep that go astray
When all the while the Lord is waiting
For us to come to Him today.
Your burden He is more than able
To carry, cure, and dissipate
For with God, nothing is impossible!
Don't lose your life, it is not too late.
He is your Comfort, your Burden Bearer
Your Sun and Shield, your Hiding Place
The Rock of Ages, great Redeemer!
The Lord is gracious to show His Face.
'The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer,
my God is my rock, in Whom I take refuge.
He is my Shield and the Horn of my Salvation,
my stronghold.'

Today... 'Fortress
Upon Calvary's Hill a Fortress stood
founded upon a Rock so sure and good.
He is my deliverer and my shield
and before Him the gates of hell shall yield.
My eternal Stronghold and Refuge sure
keeping me safe from harm and so secure.
He is my Rock and my Deliverer
The Lord Almighty and my Redeemer.

Today... 'Fortress of salvation for his anointed one
A fortress of salvation is the Lord
the strength of all those trusting in His word.
The shepherd of His people and their shield
a mighty stronghold that will never yield.
They shall be forever safe and secure
and although time shall fade they shall endure.
With angelic voices their anthem raise.
all joining together to sing His praise.

Poem: A Psalm for the Prisoner
O Lord, hear my simple cry;
set this weary captive free!
For I’m condemned by my past,
imprisoned by the dungeon of me.
Break the restraints of attachment
that are distressing my soul -
Destroy the chains of my ignorance,
which continue to undermine Your control.
Forcefully storm the stony gates
that shelter the stronghold of my heart.
Let the destructive plague be swept away!
I thirst for Your Presence, as the woodland hart.
The shadow of Your magnificent wings,
protect me from the terrors of the night.
Shine Your Light into my spirit, thus allowing me…
To firmly stand by faith and not by human sight.
Lord, I offer this pledge to You -
Yours, are my love and humble devotion,
in exchange for your unerring counsel
and my acceptance of Your Salvation.
For now, a sentry of angels surround me,
forming a holy prayer circle of peace.
Embrace me with Your loving kindness,
as I desire… Your permanent release.

Shield Of Abraham
(kinky friedman)
Jacob climbed the ladder, climbed it to the sky,
Said, people, whats the matter ?
Heaven aint so high,
People, heaven aint so high,
When you got the shield,
You got the shield,
You got the shield,
You got the shield of abraham.
Little children.
You got the shield,
You got the shield,
You got the shield of abraham.
The years were lights they wandered in the desert 40 years
And ol moses told the children
brush away them tears,
Hey, kids, this aint no time for tears.
Children
You got the shield,
You got the shield,
You got the shield of abraham.
Little children.
You got the shield,
You got the shield,
You got the shield of abraham.
David, he fought goliath with nothing but a tiny stone.
David, little david, God knows youre not alone,
God knows youre not alone.
David, you got the shield,
Youve got the shield,
You got the shield of abraham.
Little david.
You got the shield,
You got the shield,
You got the shield of abraham.
Rock and roll redeemer, oh people, hear my song,
And let the music keep us loving, let the spirit keep us strong,
Let your sweet love keep us strong.
cause weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield of abraham.
Little children.
Weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield of abraham.
Weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield of abraham.
Little children.
Weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield,
Weve got the shield ...

Psalm 71
In you O lord I put my trust
When you put me to the test
You took me from my mother's womb
You are my Rock and strong fortress
My praise shall ever be of you
You've upheld me since my youth
My mouth is filled with your glorious praise
I gird up my loins with truth
When I am weak uphold me Lord
Some say I've been forsaken
O God do not be far from me
Arise my God, awaken!
O God who is like unto you?
May I praise you and never complain
Raise me up from my despair
O Lord, revive me again

My Shield Will I Lift Up
This week I began to think upon the concept of faith and how it relates to me and my struggle. Most theologians generally define “faith” as: a belief in something sight unseen. John Maxwell states there are 3 kinds of faith that relate to the Christian experience. They are: Faith in our God, Faith in each other and Faith in ourselves. Some of the elements of faith that I have to rely on daily are: That Jesus is the Son of God and sits at the right hand of the Father. That Jesus died for our sins; paying the cost, so we can have eternal life. That God is able to save us from each other; and ourselves. That he loves us and hears our cries(prayers) . After many years of ruining my life by trying to run it myself in my sinful, disobedient way, I finally put my faith in Jesus. As I now reflect back, I began to think of my faith like a heavy Roman shield. A strong, well made shield, one that is founded in belief in Jesus, has a good weight to it and is heavy to lift. It requires a good physical effort and is not easy to hoist up. It must be so, because it has to withstand the onslaught of arrows, flaming or not, that come to a believer daily. Some days I feel like I can’t lift my shield; like the burden is too much to bear. It is in those times when I take peace in the verse Psalm 7: 10. God SAVES the upright in heart! I have faith He will do that, every time I call and without fail.
Thank you God for your promises. May my faith in you increase daily
My Shield Will I Lift Up
a poem by Chris
The money-changer’s hand comes to snatch my coin
But my shield will I lift up.
The flaming arrows seek to destroy
But my shield is God Most High.
A rock was placed to watch me stumble
But my shield I throw aloft.
I keep my heart faithful and humble
For my shield is free from rot.
The valley is dark and the path is narrow
And my shield is my defense.
Thieves they come to seek my marrow
But my shield is quite immense.
When one step further is one too much
My shield blocks the fray.
When to my chest my faith I clutch
my shield knows the way.
So onward and upward to battle I come
Bringing my shield to peril’s door
Having no fear of my enemy’s drum
I hoist the shield once more.

Against Life’s Reason
Friend, when I am weak, I am strong, for The Lord God is my song,
He is my strength and my praise, and my fortress through my days,
When times in life do go wrong, it’s my Lord who makes me strong,
Through God’s Strength, I can’t fail, for in all things God will prevail.
Though I’m poor, I’m truly rich, in wealth beyond man’s earthly pitch,
For earthly man cannot offer me, all I‘ve been promised for Eternity,
Through the riches of one King, who from Heaven, owns everything,
All the Eternal Riches of The Lord, cannot and shouldn’t go ignored.
When I was lost, I was found, then, placed by God on Solid Ground,
Placed upon The Rock of Ages, the One spoken of by God’s sages,
The Eternal Rock, and yet a Lamb, Gods’ only Son, the Great “I Am.”
That Rock, not cut by human hands, to be Salvation for all the lands.
Found by God in the dark of night, I was placed in my Savior’s Light,
Saved from the darkness of my sin, I have obtained New Life in Him,
God’s Son who came to this earth, to offer all sinful men a New Birth,
Our Lord and God’s Only Salvation, sent to the earth for every nation.
Formerly, I was blind, now I see, given sight, by the Lamb of Calvary,
Who became for me God’s Sacrifice, paying for me His Eternal price,
Required by The Holy God above, and sent by Him, to show His love,
This, that I may have Eternal Life, in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Psalm 28
To you I will cry oh Lord my Rock
Please do not be silent to me
Lest I become as one who has died
For I would raise my hands in your sanctuary
Oh Lord you give according to their deeds
To those with evil in their heart
You seperate the wheat from the tares
And from you they eternally depart
But you are a strength and a shield to me
And you hear the voice of my supplications
You will rule and reign forvermore
Forever God of all the nations

But you condemn dont understand
And youll never know why
Oh no youll never know why

Christianity is perhaps as much indebted to its enemies, as to its friends, for this important service. In their indiscriminate attacks, whatever has been found to be untenable has been gradually abandoned, and I hope the attack will be continued till nothing of the wretched outworks be left; and then, I doubt not, a safe and impregnable fortress, will be sound in the center, a fortress built upon a rock, against which the gates of death will not prevail.

Prayer Prompt Psalm 115. I Put My Thoughts On You
Your presence, O God, gives me confidence
“You are my helper. You are my shield.”
When I am fearful, I put my thoughts on You, alone.
God is alive!
God is our helper!
God is our shield!
We love you, our Lord and our God!
I love you, my Lord and my God!

My Redeemer Lives!
Even when I am old and gray
Lord, I will sing You praise
And though my life may ebb away
I will declare Your amazing Grace!
For You, O God have held me through
My darkest hours and human failings
A Faithful God, Lord You are True
You changed my mournings into dancing.
You are the Father to the fatherless
Near to the lost and brokenhearted
Shield for the lonely and the hopeless
Healer of the downcast and afflicted.
When my strength and flesh shall decay
I know the God Whom I believed
I know that my Savior for me prays
Jesus Christ, My Redeemer lives!
' Even when I am old and gray
do not forsake me, O God,
till I declare Your Power to the
next generation, Your might to all
who are to come.'

Third Heaven
'For as the heaven
is high above the earth
so great is his mercy
toward them
that feared him'.
Psalm 103: 11
Winged creatures, glistered by glory,
snapped him from the peak of the earth.
Consigned to heaven:
The elders en masse, in white robes sang:
Hallelujah! hallelujah! hallelujah to the King!
'The heaven, even the heavens,
are the Lord's:
But the earth hath he given
to the children of men'.
Psalm 115: 6
Now that I am here
what will my duties be?
The elders replied:
Worship!
Worship!
Worship the Lord on high!

Fresh Fruits of the Spirit - Joy
Joy
“But let all those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice; let them ever sing and shout for joy,
because You make a covering over them and defend them;
let those also who live Your name be joyful
in You and be in high spirits.”
Psalm 5: 11, AMP
Dear Lord,
You also wrote through the Psalmist that… “weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30: 5, amp
Sorrow takes so much energy, Lord that it feels like
I will never have joy again. Perhaps a little of Your “high-octane additive” will help.
Please add enough super-charged joy to my tank today to
jump start my life again. And even when problems arise like dark clouds;
low and threatening,
help me to look for joy in spite of the dumpster-diving, roller coaster emotions that swirl around me. I am grateful that You reign… and I will hold You to your promise that joy will
come again, in the morning.
Amen.

Swing Down Sweet Chariot
(arranged and adapted by elvis presley)
Why dont you swing down sweet chariot
Stop and let me ride
Swing down chariot
Stop and let me ride
Rock me lord, rock me lord
Calm and easy
Well Ive got a home on the other side
Why dont you swing down sweet chariot
Stop and let me ride
Swing down chariot
Stop and let me ride
Rock me lord, rock me lord
Calm and easy
Well Ive got a home on the other side
Well, well, well, well, well, well
Ezekial went down in the middle of a field
He saw an angel workin on a chariot wheel
Wasnt so particular bout the chariot wheel
Just wanted to see how a chariot feel
Why dont you swing down sweet chariot
Stop and let me ride
Swing down chariot
Stop and let me ride
Rock me lord, rock me lord
Calm and easy
Well Ive got a home on the other side
Well, well, well ezekial went down and he got on board
Chariot went a bumpin on down the road
Zeke wasnt so particular bout the bumpin of the road
Just wanted to lay down his heavy load
Why dont you swing down sweet chariot
Stop and let me ride
Swing down chariot
Stop and let me ride
Rock me lord, rock me lord
Calm and easy
Well Ive got a home on the other side
Well I got a father in the promised land
Aint no more stoppin till I shake his hand
Rock me lord, rock me lord
Calm and easy
Ive got a home on the other side
Why dont you swing down sweet chariot
Stop and let me ride

Eternal Rock And Much More
Christ is The Rock of the future, and The Eternal Rock of the past.
He’s a Rock that’s tried and sure, The Rock that shall forever last.
Jesus is a Rock that will endure, when life’s trials at you are cast.
Christ is The Rock and much more, for Him nothing’s even a task.
Of all the things on earth you see, He’s the very God and Creator,
And of all this through all Eternity, He’s the one and only Sustainer.
Then He died for you and me, becoming both Lord and our Savior.
When things in life come to be, for us, with God He’s our Mediator.
Christ is the Author of every life, and yet He came to earth to die.
Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, upon that cross died, for you and I.
The Lord came to be a sacrifice, from His Throne above the sky.
But when Christ paid the price, “It is finished” they heard Him cry.
Indeed He died but rose again, and now He’s back on His Throne.
Christ is coming back my friend, coming back to get His very own,
When you become born again, He prepares for you a New Home.
The Lord had died for all men, but any decision remains your own.
Friend even if you are deceived, The Lord can open up your eyes,
His Spirit will help you to believe, and give you a heart that’s wise,
When His Salvation you receive, from the one who rules the skies.
And my friend the Gift was conceived, by The Rock who never lies.

Loving God
You are my loving God
The God of Israel
The Lord strong and mighty
Of Your mercy I will tell
I will sing of your love in the morning
Rejoice in Your faithfulness
My strength in times of trouble
You are my mighty fortress
You are my strength, I watch for you
My shield and sovereign God
My protector, strong deliverer
All praise, glory and laud
All praise glory and laud
To You, my loving God!
