small child, hungry eyes
lips tremble, hands reach for you!
across miles, broken.

Broken child

I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has seen more than his young eyes should.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who would run away from it all if he could.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has been ravished by the likes of you and I.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child with to much pride to cry.
I see the face off a broken child.
a child who fights off anyone who cares.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wishes his mother was there.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wont let his hardships keep him down.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who refuses to give up and reveal a frown.

Her Eyes Say Yes

Her eyes say Yes, her lips say No.
Ah, tell me, Love, when she denies,
Shall I believe the lips or eyes?
Bid eyes no more dissemble,
Or lips too tremble
The way her heart would go!

Love may be vowed by lips, although
Cold truth, in unsurrendering eyes,
The armistice of lips denies.
But can fond eyes dissemble,
Or false lips tremble
To this soft Yes in No?

A Broken Child

A broken child hides at night.
A broken child cries in fright.

A broken child hides the bruise.
A broken child is pushed and refused.

A broken child always with heartache.
A broken child who cannot fake.

A broken child who has no treasure.
A broken child used for sinful pleasure.

A broken child is so scared.
A broken child has no faith to bare.

A broken child lost in dispair.
I am the broken child, the one that no one cares.

Of A Broken Heart

If only I die
Just once in my life
If only to try
To take a guess, to be the best
A feeling I hide
That runs this world, that keeps us alive
I want you to climb with me
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die
The heart of a child
Is in your hands now
So lets see you smile
cause Im not impressed with your loneliness
And its been a while
Since you forgave all your changes made
So lets count the miles together
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die
If only I die
Just once in my life
If only to try together
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die of a broken heart
A broken heart
Until I die

The Hands Of Time!

the hands of a small child,
shaping sand on the beach.
the flutter of wings,
a sparrow's first flight.
seeds planted by hand
in the fresh plowed ground.
the light teasing shadows,
late afternoon to night.
the war hero's silence,
his eyes grown hard.
the family burying the child,
the mother cannot weep.
the hungry stare
of poverty's stink.
the addict's hard edge,
bare rooms, bare walls.
the hanging tree,
and the lovers oak.
the bullet in the chamber,
and the open mission.
the church locked empty,
boxes to beds in the alley.
the old man who cant forgive
what the young boy did.
the hands of a small child...
the hands of time!

Going Gone

Over stone walls and barns,
miles from the black-eyed Susans,
over circus tents and moon rockets
you are going, going.
You who have inhabited me
in the deepest and most broken place,
are going, going.
An old woman calls up to you
from her deathbed deep in sores,
asking, 'What do you keep of her?'
She is the crone in the fables.
She is the fool at the supper
and you, sir, are the traveler.
Although you are in a hurry
you stop to open a small basket
and under layers of petticoats
you show her the tiger-striped eyes
that you have lately plucked,
you show her specialty, the lips,
those two small bundles,
you show her the two hands
that grip her fiercely,
one being mine, one being yours.
Torn right off at the wrist bone
when you started in your
impossible going, gone.
Then you place the basket
in the old woman's hollow lap
and as a last act she fondles
these artifacts like a child's head
and murmurs, 'Precious. Precious.'
And you are glad you have given
them to this one for she too
is making a trip.

Dark And Hungry

Dark and hungry,
i grope for your mouth,
swallowing lava burnt air,
lips blistered with prayer.
ducks quacking in flight,

Nickels and dimes in the ashtray...
a song on the radio,
cant remember the name.
hands shake just a little,
unbuttoning your shirt.
a small trail of sweat
between your breasts disappears.

You breathing in gasps,
or not breathing at all....
slide my hand to your longing,
tilt your head, close your eyes...

Grey clouds on the horizon,
miles go by without markers...
two horses in the pasture
not yet victims to time.

She Is Not Mine

The dog walked down the street
Where her eyes were languid above him,
Suckling child-
And I cried, my eyes really moped,
Because the child was not mine,
And even more beautiful because the child was
Not mine;
Of needing lips not mine;
And I watched her leave for buses home-
And they were not mine;
All I had to do was lie in bed and jack off,
While the souls of tin birds crenulated against
The upstairs porch with the broken-down
Jacuzzi that molded and grew with the ululations
Of tadpoles and unfortunate princes, puckering undiademed:
And I wanted her lips, and ping-pong-
And the shadows stretched throughout the weeping
Hallways of the school,
The smoked out bathrooms,
The unicorns in the soccer field, the cherry red
Keyed cars;
She was standing out there vacillating like a fever dream
Like tapped crystal with something sweet inside;
And I do this because of my stuttering scars,
And because she is there hanging over me like grapes
I cannot reach- I cannot reach because the words are
Not yet mine-
And she is sitting straight in front of me. Sometimes
She turns around and smiles- smiles,
But I can’t really understand-
and the buses leave, and the schools
Leaves- the cormorants leave-
The esplanade remains green and open even as winter
Tiptoes under this women’s opalescent throat:
Like a fish suffocating in his hands, fat-bellied, the children
Like roe dripping out from behind….
Like precious gems
And she is not mine.

Every Child!

the faces of...
every child who'll
go to bed hungry tonite...
every child afraid to sleep
for fear of the soldiers,
the bullets, the bombs....
every child abused
by his parents...
every child humiliated
for being different.
every child who's never
known his own father...
every child with no hope
for an education...
every child sleeping
in homeless cars.
every child alone,
lonely, without love.
every child of every broken home,
every child, every color, every country...

staring at me this sleepless night,
tearing at my heart...
all my children!

New Millenium Homes

Hungry people dont stay hungry for long
They get hope from fire and smoke as the wheat grows strong
Hungry people dont stay hungry for long
They get hope from fire and smoke as they reach for the dawn
Tha spirit of jackson
Now screams through tha ruins
Through factory chainsand tha ghost of tha union
Forgotten remains
Disappear to their new homes
Tha knife tha thrust
Tha life burns to the raw bone
Tha blood on the floor of the tear is still dryin
Cover the spread sheets
Tha dow jones skyin
Cell block live stock
Tha bodies their buyin
Old south order
New northern horizon
Violence in all hands
Embrace it if need be
(violence in all hands, embrace it if need be)
Livin been warfare
I press it to cd

Yo, yo
Check tha high tech terror
Yes tha new order athletes
Peer into tha eyes of tha child already on trial
Armies rippin families apart
Get em on file
Convictions fit tha stock profile
All tha while films of dogs
Cutting through homes
Ripping skin from bones
Yes tha new millennium homes
Privatizing through private eyes
An era rising
Of tha old south order
New northern horizon

Clair de Lune

In the moonlit room your face,
Moonlight-coloured, fainting white,
And the silence of the place
Round about us in the night,
And my arms are round about you
In the silence of the night.

Lips that are not mine to kiss,
Lips how often kissed in vain,
Broken seal of memories,
Where the kisses come again
That the lips of all your lovers
Laid upon your lips in vain;

Eyes that are not mine to keep
In the mirror of mine eyes,
Where I tremble lest from sleep
Other ghosts should re-arise;
Why enthrall me with your magic,
Haunting lips, triumphant eyes?

For the silence of the night
Swims around me like a stream,
And your eyes have caught the light
Of a moon-enchanted dream,
And your arms glide round about me,
And I fade into a dream.

When a Child Has Been Told

When a child has been told
Never shed a tear

The small child can only
Every bow their head in fear
And hope and pray they
Don't come back to silence them
They often live in fear

They learn not to cry

When a child has been told
Keep a secret

For if they do they will be punished
For telling lies
They bow their head in fear
Hoping they will not
Come back and take their life

They learn not to speak

When a child has been told
Close your eyes

All they can do is tremble
As the touch of evil hands
Slowly destroys their soul
Never to burn again

They learn not to care

When a child has been told
No one really care's

They sit alone and ponder
Will anyone believe?
If I just spoke
If I just shed a tear
Will anyone really care?

They learn not to feel

All I ask of you now
Is let them speak
Let them cry

Because it means they are alive

I Can See For Miles

I know youve deceived me, now heres a surprise
I know that you have cause theres magic in my eyes
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
If you think that I dont know about the little tricks youve played
And never see you when deliberately you put things in my way
Well, heres a poke at you
Youre gonna choke on it too
Youre gonna lose that smile
Beacuse all the while
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
You took advantage of my trust in you when I was so far away
I saw you holding lots of other guys and now youve got the nerve to say
That you still want me
Well, thats as may be
But you gotta stand trial
Because all the while
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
I know youve deceived me, now heres a surprise
I know that you have cause theres magic in my eyes
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah
The eiffel tower and the taj mahal are mine to see on clear days
You thought that I would need a crystal ball to see right through the haze
Well, heres a poke at you
Youre gonna choke on it too
Youre gonna lose that smile
Beacuse all the while
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
And miles and miles and miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles
I can see for miles and miles

We Who Whisper

we who whisper...
with our feet as we walk,
with our eyes turned inward,
with our bodies that weep.

we who weep...
with hands that tremble,
with quiet desperation,
with our prayers that build.

we who build...
with the ruins of our loss,
with our spirits broken,
with our hearts that bleed.

we who bleed...
with our trials and mistakes,
with our failures to reach,
with our love that whispers.

we who whisper...

Hungry Eyes

Hungry eyes
Ive been meaning to tell you
Ive got this feelin that wont subside
I look at you and I fantasize
You are mine tonight
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you and i
I want to hold you so hear me out
I want to show you what loves all about
Darlin tonight
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you
And Ive got hungry eyes
Now Ive got you in my sights
With these hungry eyes
Now did I take you by surprise
I need you to see
This love was meant to be
Ive got hungry eyes
One look at you and I cant disguise
Ive got hungry eyes
I feel the magic between you
And Ive got hungry eyes
Now Ive got you in my sights
With those hungry eyes
Did I take you by surprise

Girl With The Hungry Eyes

I like to move at the speed of light
Albert says I cant -- but I can
Circle of stone, circle of steel
I want to ride in an iron wheel
I am a child of atomic war
You are the daughter of the overlord
Lets get together on the killin floor
Give me -- more, more, more, more, more
Violet lightning
Violet lightning
Shes the girl with the hungry eyes
The girl with the hungry eyes
She holds up half the sky
The girl with the hungry eyes
I just met the girl with the perfect lips
I just met the girl with the perfect fit
Every atom in my body could inhale her
Speed of light girl, she is a sailor
Violet lightning
Violent lightning
Violet lightning
Now were movin at the speed of light
Now were movin at the speed of night
And your home gets filled with newer people, people, people
And all your friends are gone so hang on, hang on to the
Girl with the hungry eyes
She hold up half the sky -- shes the
Girl with the hungry eyes -- I love the

small hands, trust...
big hands, afraid,
clenched to fists...

small eyes, see...

confined to conceptions...

small hearts, love...
big hearts, possess,
clipping the wings

of their own dreams!
small to big, return to small
finding our way home!

Beautiful Child

(stevie nicks)
Fleetwood mac
Tusk
Beautiful child
Beautiful child
You are a beautiful child
And I am a fool once more
You fell in love when I was only ten
The years disappeared
Much has gone by since then
I bite my lip, can you send me away
You touch
I have no choice
I have to stay
I had to stay
Sleepless child
There is so little time
Your eyes say yes
But you dont say yes
I wish that you were mine
You say it will be harder in the morning
I wait for you to say, just go
Your hands, held mine so few hours
And Im not a child anymore
Im not a child anymore
Im tall enough
To reach for the stars
Im old enough
To love you from afar
To trusting... yes?
But then women usually are
Im not a child anymore
No, Im not a child, oh no
Tall enough to reach for the stars
I will do
As Im told
Even if I never hold you again
I never hold you again

Unconditionally Open

these hands,
that took yours
and walked away from all
we knew.

these hands,
that laid brick,
cut wood,
plowed gardens,
picked up trash

built fences for the dogs,
held the children
when they were small,
held your hands
at the hospital

stroked your body,
touching forbidden places
with gentleness and
passion

wrote the poetry
hidden in your eyes

these hands,
now old and calloused,
sometimes tremble,
sometimes hard as stone

these hands are open,
without fear or trepidation,
unconditionally open
waiting for yours.

Lingering Kisses

A lingering kiss remains on my lips
I can feel your warm skin below
Entangled in our passion

Pure
Raw
Undeniable

Sparkling eyes stare off into the the distance
Hands tremble, voices break
the soft Moonlight kisses every curve of your body

Groping hands explore every part of an unknown world
Taboo
A fire ablaze in our kiss

A mad passion
eyes open and the hunger quells
Breathe in

Breathe out
A lingering kiss remains on my lips
