Upon Reading Tennyson's 'Lady of Shallot
With fear to part exquisite threads
weaver, requite stagnant days in loom
doom heady closure, mirrored in room
for within your work, worlds are read
Lungs caught quick with congealed air
thy careful rebellion, quick to abrase
meet one free form, emit tendril haze
across the river, longing we stare
Tepid isolation pleading, do abide
a curse is on you if you stay
articulate fingers perpetually splay
leave not the crystal by your side
Escaping striations framed from creation
stay you do, pace you through cracked life
and for whom so you list causing strife:
Lancelot straddling earth with elation
Once sweet song turned sharp
as your face, solid, less holy
eyes as obsidian, but coaly
life spent as wind through Eolian Harp

The Lady Of Shallot: Mirror Mind Exposed
interesting no one ever sees
our Lady of Shallot mystery
is spoken of like a fairy lady
even her name unknown remains
woman sitting in looming isolation cloistered
view casement window is even near untouched
veil prototype Mona Lisa not pictured framed
not seen at her window looking out landscaped
the Lady of Shallot never sees direct world near at hand
from cloistered distance what is felt smelt touched real
her mirror hangs upon a wall events it tells yearly small
shadows of life reversed seen mirrored move are framed...
within her mirror within in mind
upon her loom in still frozen time
she weaves life distant glimpsed
when passions rise fate will chime
she threads scenes
life she never knows
through casement window closed
allowed seen only shadow world
she threads her season passing scenes
ordinary exquisite life she never knows
reflections through casement window closed
to see puppet shows shift shadow cast world...
looking out through mirror the mirror image is the world
still life tapestry fascinating she is weaving mirror imaged
do we also see only mirror images as life rivers flow past?
upon what fleeting moments will our own life die be cast?
the Lady of Shallot suffers from a mysterious curse
she must continually weave her loom images shadows
without ever looking directly out at world dangers
what strange change daily scenes her mirror reflects
by her island the busy road the people of Camelot pass
what is her looming curse she avoids but never knows?
dangers lurk looking out near window Yes? No? Yes?
Is it...? Love? Love or risk of love? Love slays souls? ...
Is love a danger that foul may slay a young maiden's heart?
What light ignites eyes at first sight a love for Sir Lancelot?
Love is a swooning fascinating risk can it kill young heart?
Love kills young innocence that first love the first love lost?
a tower secluded by water and height may well fall at night
a shield sparkled on the long yellow field a red-cross knight
an illicit love affair like a silver bugle calls blue purple night
a constellation of stars is offset by path bearded meteor bright
red yellow silver, blue purple coal-black curls, peacock colours
maiden cheeks flaming as in arrayed display Sir Lancelot poses
mist siren song ‘Tirra lirra' come embrace be my lover entices
out flew her web floated wide caught she be in traps love tides...
her mirror crack'd from side to side run meet lover at river side
to run meet in woods Sir Lancelot maidenhood cannot survive...
floating downstream with wedding dreams snowy white robed
heard her singing her last maid song life broken barely alive...
heard was carol mournful holy chanted loudly chanted lowly
her blood love impaled frozen slowly eyes darken'd wholly...
ere she reach'd Camelot upon the tide first house at water-side
sweet tender enchanting; singing maiden; in her song she died...
dressed in cloud-white crown death pearl shroud she will delight
her wide eyes fixed on Camelot this night survive she will not...
bewitched sight steady stony glance love she be a seer in a trance
behold mischance cast love lance a wax mute glassy countenance...
'She left the web, she left the loom;
She made three paces thro' the room, ...
Out flew the web and floated wide;
The mirror crack'd from side to side; ...
'The curse is come upon me, ' cried
The Lady of Shalott' caught in passion tide...
virgin magic strung weaved glitters entices all
comes illicit consummation then comes the fall...
'And round the prow they read her name'
'The Lady of Shalott' won undying fame...
'Who is this? and what is here?
And in the lighted palace near
Died the sound of royal cheer;
And they cross'd themselves for fear, ...
But Lancelot mused a little space;
He said, 'She has a lovely face;
God in his mercy lend her grace,
The Lady of Shalott' twas embowered chase...
'Only reapers, reaping early
In among the bearded barley,
Hear a song that echoes cheerly
From the river winding clearly, ...
And by the moon the reaper weary,
Piling sheaves in uplands airy,
Listening, whispers ''Tis the fairy
Lady of Shalott' singing ghostly merry...
once she lived alone loom tapestry embowered
now a constellation of stars haunting flowered...

Stay Mine
(Jean-Paul Maunick / Graham Harvey / Stephen Pert)
There were moments in my past
I couldn't tell right from wrong
Getting lost along the way in places I did not belong
I couldn't see a way to turn myself around
so deep my confusion
Until the day you woke up my senses
showed me happiness was not just an illusion
Since you came into my life
I've been caught in a world of ecstasy
For the first time in all my days
I feel like I'm walking on solid ground
Stay mine, stay mine
Getting by just on my own
Always been my intention
Now sitting here waiting by the phone
I realise how much I needed this emotion
Every time I get the chance I'm gonna let you know
how you complete me
I put away all my defences
all the love I got
I give to you completely
Since you came into my life
I've been caught in a world of ecstasy
For the first time in all my days
I feel like I'm walking on solid ground
Stay mine, stay mine, got to stay mine
Now you've got to know, you're the top of my list
One the one the one the one, my number one
There's no doubt in my mind, baby you're the one
One the one the one the one the one
Since you came into my life
I've been caught in a world of ecstasy
For the first time in all my days
I feel like I'm walking on solid ground
Ever since you came into my life
I've been caught in a world of ecstasy
For the first time in all my days
I feel like I'm walking on solid ground
Stay mine, stay mine, got to stay mine
stay mine, sugar honey baby
One the one the one, my number one
One the one the one the one the one

No Respect For Duets
You can't disowned me.
Like you're getting off a see-saw,
Abruptly.
Especially when I've gotten use to going up and down.
With quick emotions you deliver to emit.
As if I am trained to depict...
Which mood of yours,
I should prepare in patience for your infliction.
You can't but you did,
Drop me to lay flat on the ground.
Exposed and showing a wide opened nose...
From the day you discovered that easily found.
You can't disowned me.
Like you're getting off a see-saw,
Abruptly.
Especially when I've gotten use to going up and down.
With quick emotions you deliver to emit.
As if I am trained to depict...
Which mood of yours,
I should prepare in patience for your infliction.
You found in me someone devoted.
Someone dependable and would be around.
To pick up your smashed pieces.
As you felt after doing this,
Both safe and mentally 'sound'.
With whimpers to come to whisper,
In my ear.
To further have me feeling trapped.
Like some domesticated puppy caught,
In the comfort of a dog pound!
Lapping happily that I'm locked up and latched.
You wish to really sing solo...
I know you do.
And not together in harmony.
To prove to me exclusively...
My heart you can bleed but do not need.
With no respect for duets!
None I've seen you wish to perfect with me.
Although we can open one door,
With separate keys!
Getting up to leave when you please,
To swing in 'flings' as I stay stumped...
On my rump.
Is all that this relationship means.
And you 'think' you are irreplaceable,
As a preference with no match.
However...
Don't believe you can leave,
And off my list you can't be scratched!
You might regard me as a pet...
But you are the one who will have regrets.

The Lady Or The Tramp - a warm up poem
The river or the island
The island or the Camelot
The Shalott or Sir Lancelot
A magic web or a broken heart
A real life lived or a lonely art
Four towers or the fragrant flowers
The Shalott or The Camelot
The mirror or Sir Lancelot
A water lily or an aspen tree
Be imprisoned or just set free
Art to create or life to be
The Shalott or Sir Lancelot
The mirror or The Camelot
The silent coffin or the singing boat
The noise of heaven or silence remote
Live love and die or weave the sky
The Shalott or The Camelot
The mirror or Sir Lancelot
The glassy road or a towered space
To live by shadows or see their face
To take a breath or live in death
The Shalott or Sir Lancelot
The mirror or The Camelot
To weave or breathe or die of thirst
To break the spell or just stay cursed
Chose well or chose what's first
The Shalott or The Camelot
The mirror or Sir Lancelot

Widow McFarlane
I was the Widow McFarlane,
Weaver of carpets for all the village.
And I pity you still at the loom of life,
You who are singing to the shuttle
And lovingly watching the work of your hands,
If you reach the day of hate, of terrible truth.
For the cloth of life is woven, you know,
To a pattern hidden under the loom i
A pattern you never see!
And you weave high-hearted, singing, singing,
You guard the threads of love and friendship
For noble figures in gold and purple.
And long after other eyes can see
You have woven a moon-white strip of cloth,
You laugh in your strength, for Hope o'erlays it
With shapes of love and beauty.
The loom stops short! The pattern's out!
You're alone in the room! You have woven a shroud!
And hate of it lays you in it!

Shadows of her past
She wronged humanity,
Taking away its form,
Holding its own seed,
And placing it in history,
One history never known.
stealing the life,
With the doctor's knife,
And ceasing the breath,
Of a new life on earth,
A life never felt.
The shadows of her past,
Haunts her at last,
Leaving not a single sanity,
But misery and tragedy,
What a life poorly spent.
All she wanted went quick,
Quick and swift,
From that day,
The day she sold her soul,
The day she Murdered...

An Old Colonist's Reverie
Dustily over the highway pipes the loud nor'-wester at morn,
Wind and the rising sun, and waving tussock and corn;
It brings to me days gone by when first in my ears it rang,
The wind is the voice of my home, and I think of the songs it sang
When, fresh from the desk and ledger, I crossed the long leagues of sea
'The old worn world is gone and the new bright world is free.'
The wide, wild pastures of old are fading and passing away,
All over the plain are the homes of the men who have come to stay
I sigh for the good old days in the station whare again;
But the good new days are better
I would not be heard to complain;
It is only the wind that cries with tears in its voice to me
Of the dead men low in the mould who came with me over the sea.
Some of them down in the city under the marble are laid,
Some on the bare hillside in the mound by the lone tree shade,
And some in the forest deeps of the west in their silence lie,
With the dark pine curtain above shutting out the blue of the sky.
And many have passed from my sight, whither I never shall know,
Swept away in the rushing river or caught in the mountain snow;
All the old hands are gone who came with me over the sea,
But the land that we made our own is the same bright land to me.
There are dreams in the gold of the kowhai, and when ratas are breaking in bloom
I can hear the rich murmur of voices in the deeps of the fern-shadowed gloom.
Old memory may bring me her treasures from the land of the blossoms of May,
But to me the hill daisies are dearer and the gorse on the river bed grey;
While the mists on the high hilltops curling, the dawn-haunted
haze of the sea,
To my fancy are bridal veils lifting from the face of the land of the free.
The speargrass and cabbage trees yonder, the honey-belled flax in its bloom,
The dark of the bush on the sidings, the snow-crested mountains that loom
Golden and grey in the sunlight, far up in the cloud-fringed blue,
Are the threads with old memory weaving and the line of my life
running through;
And the wind of the morning calling has ever a song for me
Of hope for the land of the dawning in the golden years to be.

Striving For What?
Rivers of people come and go, on roads of life they’ve come to know,
Fully involved in a daily routine, across our land, is a common scene.
Striving daily to make ends meet, in a world that is filled with deceit.
What seems to govern this life, much corruption behind all the strife.
Everything seems to be sold at a price, as was our Lord Jesus Christ.
Do you know a Judas my friend, oblivious to The Lord and the end?
Willing to sell God for some change, in a life that is quite deranged.
It could be one close to your side, with a lingering darkness to hide.
Evil men wax worse and worse, influenced by sin’s dreaded curse,
As seducers continue to deceive, and attack those who truly believe.
All their deceptive practice and ways, bring many trouble filled days.
And all of their deceit in the end, brings undue trial to innocent men.
As soon a quiet everyday life, becomes filled with troublesome strife.
And your peaceful daily routine, becomes a hectic unwanted scene.
The fruit of deceptive schemes, has been the end of many a dreams.
But soon all these men of deceit, will be brought down in total defeat.
But you can transform this life, by walking with the man Jesus Christ.
Christ will give you a new mind, one that will go on through all time.
Accept in your heart Jesus Christ, and Jesus will give you New Life,
Friend, a life of Joy, you will see, as your hope moves on to Eternity.
Present grief will be in the past, as Christ gives you life that will last,
As we leave earth’s river of strife, we’ll see the Eternal River of Life.
No longer a routine of despair, for soon we will be caught in the air,
Where we will meet with The Lord, and live with Christ forevermore.
Isn't It Better That Way?
How many years have I been given?
Nobody knows. I keep on livin'.
Life's my adventure day by day.
I don't know how long I will stay.
and isn't it better that way?
How many days have I been given?
How can I tell? I just keep livin'.
Life's inhalation, so I breathe
uncertain of what I will bequeath.
Life is uncertain, no guarantees.
It's one of life's intriuging mysteries.
and isn't better that way?
How many seconds have I been given?
Are there some left to keep on livin'?
Life goes so quick that when you look back
to your first little breath from that quick little smack.
so to me it's better that way.

The light will go out
Like the life can be turned off.
So can my life with a flick of a switch.
The light can be turned out.
I am going to turn the light out soon.
My life will be over and done.
And I shall stare death in the face.
No more do I stay with lifes pace.
Now Im going to turn the light off.
I can't fight no more

Santa Ana Winds
Here in sothern california there is a weather condition known as the
Santa ana winds.
Fire wind oh desert wind
She was born in a desert breeze
And wind her way
Through canyon way
From the desert to the silvery sea
In every direction
See the perfection
And see the san gabriel mountain scene
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Fill my sails
Oh desert wind
And hold the waves high for me
Then I will come
And test my skill
Where the santa ana winds blow free
In waves of elation
My part of creation
Becoming one with the boundless sea
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
I am the wind
Oh desert wind
On my pilgrimage to the sea
I will prevail
I will not fail
To bring life into humanity
My song is creation
(? ? ? )the nation
Whispering the wisdom and its purity
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds keep blowin across my eyes
Santa ana winds...

Quick Seizures
Run...
Through the valleys of your deepest fears,
And escaping pain.
Run...
And stay clear of deceptive faces,
Some may take time...
To define and clarify.
Run...
Out pace temptations chasing,
They too seek someone to cling onto.
Someone like you,
In denial and yet,
Knowing on the inside
Someone like you,
Not showing it on the outside
Is inside desiring...
Needs you have to be touched,
Fucked and satisfied!
But prostitution should not be,
What this feeling can deliver...
When it's been on hold overtime!
To slowly freeze.
You're ready to thaw!
Run...
They seek quick seizures.
With judgements passed to place!
They come to haunt you with false charges.
Memories revealed you knew weren't real of face!
Run...
Your peace of mind is wanted,
And it threatens those with no sense.
Even though they know you know it shows...
They feel better with you caged and fenced!
Run...
Through the valleys of your deepest fears,
And escaping pain.
Run...
And stay clear of deceptive faces,
Some may take time...
To define and clarify.
When you've got them out of view...
Forget their constant screaming!
Run...
Through the valleys of your deepest fears,
And escaping pain.
Run...
And stay clear of deceptive faces,
Some may take time...
To define and clarify.
Run...
Out pace temptations chasing,
They too seek someone to cling onto.
Someone like you,
Refusing in denial and yet,
When not in sight...so needy.
Run...
And stay clear of deceptive faces,
Some may take that time...
To define them and clarify.
But...
When you've got them out of view...
Forget their constant screaming!
Forget what you've gone through,
And live that life you're dreaming!

On The Shoreline
Released as b-side of I cant dance single, 1991.
Well theres a place where two worlds collide
The pile of stone against the pull of the tide
You can stay with your feet on the ground
Or step into the water, leave the dry behind
On the shoreline
Meet me on the shoreline
Where you can only swim if you try
Well, if theres somewhere on the other side
It might be better, it might be as bad
Someday soon youll have to make a move
Cos you cant stay forever, ah just waiting
On the shoreline (on the shoreline)
Meet me on the shoreline (on the shoreline)
Take me over, lead me through
Well can you take me there, to the other side
Where everything is new, uncertain and strange
Dont ever let me go till were there
I dont know what it is Im looking for
And until its found I wont be sure...
Well, there are squares in the game of life
When you can keep on moving or turn aside
Yes, there are times when you have to decide
To put your feet in the water, or stay
On the shoreline (on the shoreline)
Meet me on the shoreline (on the shoreline)
Where you can only swim if you try
Ill be there - oh
On the shoreline (on the shoreline)
Ill be there on the shoreline (on the shoreline)
Where you can only swim if you try
Ill be there
Ill be there - oh
Yes, Ill be there
Ill be there...

A Sweet Song Of Love
Listen to this sweet song of love,
a different love song of our strife.
The victory of truth in life,
listen to this sweet song of love....
Walking together in our dreams where have we reached,
just look how blue is the sky here.
Our song is even sung by the birds here,
where ever our eyes can see is pure light spread.
Listen to this sweet song of love,
a different love song of our strife.
The victory of truth in life,
listen to this sweet song of love....
Cool cool breezes blow here always,
beyond the stars is our little cottage.
The rainbow colours are here to manage,
they where they commence their journeyof joys.
Listen to this sweet song of love,
a different love song of our strife.
The victory of truth in life,
listen to this sweet song of love....
Forbidden to meet each other in this world,
encircled within our customs were we both.
imprisoned and guarded were we both,
we died in breaking away from the customs of this world.
Listen to this sweet song of love,
a different love song of our strife.
The victory of truth in life,
listen to this sweet song of love....

Afterlife
Do you believe in the afterworld
Or the afterlife?
Do you agree there's a place for us
Beyond our life
Where the timeless call for life
Is lost and you will see
The forgotten dreams
That you once had become reality
They will be set free - another day
You cannot leave if you do not want to stay
In the afterlife - in the afterlife
Life's a dream that you will forget
In the endless space
And the scars you got on planet Earth
Will be erased
You were blind until your eyes have stopped to see
And your powers unfold by the moment
You hit eternity
You will be set free
But you'll never return
That's the price you have to pay
In the afterlife - in the afterlife
Now you're gone without a word
You didn't say goodbye
I miss you here where are you now
An angel in the sky?
Your visit here has been so short
You left to be set free
But I believe we'll meet again
And together we will stay
In the afterlife - in the afterlife
In the afterlife - in the afterlife

A Dacian's prayer [Rugăciunea unui dac]
When there was neither death, nor immortality,
Nor seed of light to give life and fertility,
Nor yesterday, today, tomorrow and for ever,
For one was everything and all were one together;
When earth and sky and air and all this world profound
Were things that until then had never been around,
Back then, was only You, and in my mind I wonder,
Who is the God we worship, who makes us hear the thunder?
He is the God that stood before all gods in dark
And from the boundless waters produced a little spark,
He gives the gods their souls, makes happy His creation
He is for all the people a fountain of salvation
Cheer up and praise the Lord! Forget about your strife,
He is the death of death and is the life of life!
And He gave me the eyes to see the shining light
And mercifully filled my heart with pure delight
In roaring winds I've heard His footsteps all the time
And in a sublime song I've felt His holy rhyme,
But beside all these things, I still have a request,
To let me find at last His sweet eternal rest!
To curse the man who wants to soothe my awful pain
To bless the one who always oppresses me in vain,
To listen any mouth that shouts at me with strife,
To strengthen any arm that wants to take my life
And let that guy to be the best and walk ahead
Who comes to steal the stone on which I lay my head!
Rejected by the people, I'll roam through all my years
Until I feel my eyes devoid of any tears,
For every man will be my bitter foe from birth,
That's why I cannot judge or measure my own worth;
The pain and the ordeal have chilled my heart severely,
That I can curse my mother, whom I have loved so dearly –
But when my hate will fade and love will take its place
I might forget my pain and leave this life with grace.
And if I die an outlaw who wanted to be free,
Let them throw out my body to rot under a tree
And offer, God, a crown with many precious stones
To him who'll bring the dogs to eat my heart and bones.
And give eternal life to those who slap my face,
Who throw at me with stones and sink me in disgrace!
And only then, my Father, I'll thank you on my knees,
Because You gave me power to go through life with ease
I shall not beg for mercy or bend my head and cry
To curses, spite and evil I want to turn Your eye,
To feel Your holy breath upon my mortal face,
To die and rest in peace and leave behind no trace!

Eldorado
Here it comes, another lonely day, playing the game,
Ill sail away on a voyage of no return to see
If eternal life is meant to be
And if I find the key to the eternal dream.
The painted ladies of the avalon play in the sun,
Take to the road, to the north there lies the chills of cold,
To the south there lies the tales untold.
But in between there lies the place to close your eyes.
And I will stay, Ill not be back, eldorado.
I will be free of the world, eldorado.
Say goodbye, the citys heroes sing, bird on the wing
Feel, feel so free through the life upon the rooftop haze,
All the cheating and the broken days.
So through it all I see theres nothing left for me.
So I will stay, Ill not be back, eldorado.
I will be free of the world, eldorado.
Sitting here on top of everywhere, what do I care.
Days never end, I know the voyages end will soon be here,
No eternal life is here for me.
And now I found the key to the eternal dream.
Then I will stay, Ill not be back, eldorado.
I will be free of the world, eldorado.
Then I will stay.

The Down-Hill Track
The dawnin' of prosperity
Recalls (said old George Jones)
When I was young, a song we sung,
In none too sober tones,
When easy, breezy days were here,
An' cash was wildly spent.
Small good it done to anyone;
But this is how it went:
'Oh, toil with a will to the summit of the hill.
It's the luggin' an' the tuggin' does the trick,
But be careful of the dropp when you've labored to the top,
An' the fool who makes the pace too quick.
For there's more loads spilled, an' there's more men killed,
Where the road runs to the valley down below;
So, restrain that eager itchin'; sit well back into the britchin'.
Go slow, Sonny-lad, go slow!'
I've lived me life (said old George Jones)
An' learned me lesson well:
The pampered flesh clothes no old bones,
As history's headstones tell
The 'Champagne Charlies' of my day,
The short an' merry run
High livin's tucked more men away
Than hard times ever done.
Oh, dig in yer toes where the up'ard track it goes.
It's the strivin' an' the drivin' does the trick.
But take it steady, son, when yer on the down'ard run;
'Tis the fool who makes the pace too quick.
For the most men trips when the down grade dips,
An' there's more stones a'lurkin' for your toe.
Save yer wind an' spare yer muscle for the next long uphill tussle.
Go slow, Sonny-lad, go slow!

Old memory may bring me her treasures from the land of the blossoms of May,
But to me the hill daisies are dearer and the gorse on the river bed grey;
Golden and grey in the sunlight, far up in the cloud-fringed blue,
Are the threads with old memory weaving and the line of my life
running through;
And the wind of the morning calling has ever a song for me
Of hope for the land of the dawning in the golden years to be.

Dream Weaver
Dream weaver
Ive just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget todays pain
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Dream weaver
