This Day and Age
Forty Words:
Marriage is a God-given contract
but breaking vows becomes easy
with legal decrees of this century.
Adultery and remarriage
always give food for reflection
bride and groom changing direction.
Why is this happening so often
'That is the question'.

New Generation Marriage Vows Are Gone
New generation marriage vows are gone (11/2/11)
This is the first day of your new life
This is the day you chose to be his wife.
You both feel that your love is strong enough
That a marriage you could share
And for each other you would always be there.
A marriage are vows that are made to each other
That you will always “ love one another”.
You say you will love each other until death do you part
Is it what you feel? Is it really in your heart?
The vows of marriage has changed drastically
Marriage is not - what it used to be.
Fear of the unknown has changed the way you think
Six out of ten marriages are now on the brink.
Living common law is now the new rage
They don’t want to feel like they’re
Locked up in a cage.
It’s easy to walk away from a relationship
If there are no vows.
And if there’s any children, they’ll survive somehow.
We don’t need a marriage certificate to
Have a sexual affair.
We can change partners, and different beds we can share.
This is the thinking of the youth of today
All our teachings and values have all gone astray.

I believe wholeheartedly in marriage. I don't exclusively mean a marriage with a legal contract, but any relationship that constitutes a marriage because of the quality of their relationship.

Bride's Entry Is A Storm
The entry of the bride to the groom's house:
Mother moved closer than before to the groom.
Sisters showed extra concerns to the groom.
They are nervous about the bride's influence.

What makes a marriage?
It has been almost forty years
Since we had taken our marriage
Vows. Yes, we are still together.
I guess that means something today
Considering most never last
More than, I suspect, a few years;
Sometimes I can understand why
Marriage is not a piece of cake.
In the beginning all is fine
Everything is brand spanking new
But that finish dulls quite quickly.
That moment after the “I do’s”
The gravity of the marriage
Begins to materialize.
Vowing for better or for worse
Were just words uttered thoughtlessly.
Like reciting a bedtime prayer
Never actually listening
To each word we recite by rote
The truth is, marriage is both words
“Better” is a relative term:
What could be considered better
For me would not necessarily
Be the same view held by my wife.
Therefore we are both compromised
And there’s the rub of the matter.
Marriage is a balancing act
That’s between better and the worse.
Learn the knack of juggling the two
The marriage will certainly last.
In those years we’ve become a team
And we’re both still madly in love.

Prostitution lost its meaning
Jewels lost their luster.
Women discarded them.
Plaited hair is not a fashion.
It has become ceremonial.
Half saree is held lowly.
Modesty has come redundant.
Revealing is abundant.
Marriage is mere a contract.
Remarriage is as good as marriage.
Live in relation is stylish.
Sexual ties killed emotional ties.
Prostitution lost its meaning.

The Marriage Is Sacred
‘Give me your hand that I may walk
In the light of faith you invest in me.’
Shows the groom to the bride by his look.
‘Take my hand that I may walk
In the path of love you install in me.’
Nods the bride to the groom in silence.

Easy Question
(words & music by blackwell - scott)
Do you or don't you love me
Such an easy question
Why can't i get an answer
Tell me, will you or won't you need me
Such an easy question
Why can't i get an answer
All you do is give a sigh
And beat around the bush
Can it be that you're too shy
To give yourself a little old push
Can you or can't you tell me yes
It's such an easy question
Why can't i get an answer

The Lonely Groom
The family will forever remember
This day, a sunny morning
The family have gathered
The music is playing
The breadwinner of the family
Dressed in black suit
And a crystal white inner
A perfect groom waiting
For a perfect bride
Where is the bride?
There is no bride for
A motionless body
The lonely groom lay still
Laughing is replaced by weeping
The lonely groom takes away
The happiness that once
Bestowed upon the family.

Marriage Contract
Marriage contract was eaten by Judge’s cow
Still every night you give away golden key
Golden colour of the keys gather rust day by day
Our dreams also become fade gradually
Leaves of the contract move in the belly of Kazi’s cow
Eyes of you and mine reads ancient history
Come, let’s sign a new marriage contract
So that I become your and you mine
The leaves of life oscillate in water
Pain-stricken mind destroys all the pains.

Romance in June
Forty words:
Today is such a romantic day
the warmth is simply inspiring,
heaven shines in brilliant array
joy of two hearts' desiring.
Oh the glory of beautiful June
unrivalled in magical splendour
honeymoon for bride and groom
deeply in love forever.

Renaissance Wedding
Standing where I am
With the many lords and knights
As well as the many ladies and mages
We all smile, nod, and understand
For we know for this couple
This time's now for them
And something full of blessing is waiting
As they walk, this place is their rightful stage
It's a Renaissance Wedding
And I'm proud to be for this occasion, a knight
My costume stops at my knees
With my boots going from my feet to my knees
The cape I wear sways in the breeze
The bride and the groom say their vows to one another
The service then crowns them
And as such
The bride and the groom are now a king and queen
The king and queen thank us, the audience
For turning out to commemorate
For making everything pleasant
And so we begin to celebrate
With a great feast by the gate
All in all
It was a beautiful Renaissance Wedding

Crucial forty
At forty a woman is threatened
Of losing ever her charm and
To test her worthiness, is inclined,
Edging to adultery at hand.
Above forty a man is warned
Of his age and weary of his wife.
To test his vim he is emboldened,
Waging adultery in wiles.
Potent woman often slips.
Virulent man often hooks.
Law is to transgress,
Code is to infringe,
When instincts spurt.

Water
Casuarina! I miss you a lot.
Why don’t you reclaim this drab century
by your drooping branches,
off from the poetry of water?
The words are dried up.
No rustling sounds, the winged
creatures broke the mirrors,
a black moon.
I am walking without legs
in the sea of encounters.
The headless groom was searching his bride
amidst fallen greens.

The time
Wedding was over;
Brought home was the bride,
With whom came a maid,
To serve her as an aid.
Days rolled;
As honey, appeared the bride;
As savour, moved about the maid,
As a rule, in a household.
Time lapsed;
The bride shed her charm
And the maid ruled calm
In their wait at the groom.
Event happened;
The groom went blasé
With the honey in use
And the savour was in wait for use.
Fate played;
The bride in the race ran first
But the maid ended first.
The bride was aghast.
It is a game;
The diminutive waxes;
The gigantic wanes
In the field of time.

Broken
The legs of the lion are broken and,
The heart of the bard is broken too!
But, who is responsible for these acts?
Marriage is a binding contract but,
Adultery seems more rampant than ever.
The lover of giving and the lover of taking,
Quickly noted with my talents to pave the way;
And out of faculty meetings and out of marriage vows!
But the legs of the lion are now broken.
Confused and devastated!
But like romantic poems tha tflows to keep the mind;
For the experiences of the inner calmness are long overdue,
And a kind statement is now needed on this heart.
I will not yield,
I will not rest,
I will not relent,
But patience is the virtue on this love!
For the legs of the lion are now broken,
And the heart of the bard is broken too.
One-third positive and two-thirds negative! !
Negativity carries the vote at times arouns us;
And like a moving bullet towards its target!
But a perfect example like this will destroy the home,
For my days are well noted with the virtues of love.

Time And Ill Timed Marriage
once as time gone flows
quite quite some time ago
youth was quite young
quite young quite wise
time interactive quite wise
as individuals often are
time and ill timed marriage
a marriage unevenly yoked
are effective cures to both
a mismatch marriage will
require compromise with
heritage ideals integrity
a mismatch marriage will
consume both bride groom
leaving little elbow room
a tight rope walk is skilled balance act
a wire strung between two places
incapable of meeting in proverbial middle

Make Me Believe
Throw away my dreams
This fight for my life isnt getting behind me
And Ive been told to scream
Where no one can hear me, it doesnt mean nothing
So make me believe
Just take me away from this hell Ive created
And Im afraid
Im breaking my own vows knowing Ill go down in flames
I know this cant be right
Theres got to be something more that I can live for
And I can only hide
Inside of this sickness for so long again
So make me believe
Just take me away from this hell Ive created
And Im afraid
Im breaking my own vows knowing Ill go down
Make me believe
Just take me away from temptation thats calling me
And Im afraid
Im breaking my own vows knowing Ill go down in flames
Running in circles
Confusion is calling my name
Hiding inside of this poisoning madness again
Im tired, Im broken
Im walking along with the dead
Will I ever feel like I once did?
So make me...
Make me believe
Just take me away from this hell Ive created
And Im afraid
Im breaking my own vows knowing Ill go down
Make me believe
Make me believe
Make me believe
Im breaking my own vows, knowing Ill go down in flames

The marriage day
Marriage in human life
Brings a man a wife
And a woman a husband
Who make their lives grand
It adds honour to one’s personality
And brings clarity to our duty
It brings joy to the bride, groom
And to every body in the betrothal room
It is not to unite two bodies
But to ignite two souls
It may give the couple a son
Who shines as bright as the sun
It may give them a daughter
Who is as useful as water
And makes their lives better
Why don’t we celebrate it on twitter?
We may celebrate it in peculiar ways
In different countries
The rituals may be variant
But the bond should be permanent
Marriage makes the two people one
And makes their life a fun
It makes the civilization run
Why don’t we publicize it as much as we can?

Let's Have a Party.
Let's have a party, invite the family around,
Tell them it's teat time, and come south bound;
We'll have it as a barbecue, so b.y.o some meat,
But we will supply salad, drinks, and also sweet.
Let's have a party, but dress up in a costume,
Don't say who you are, we have to assume;
And the food will be served as a supper too,
With Chicken, no wine, and some dessert will do.
Let's have a party for children, on Friday,
Seeing its a birthday, the kids will go hooray;
Let's put up streamers, have finger food too,
After all the games and food sing happy birthday to you.
Let's have a pre wedding party, for bride and groom,
Go out to dinner, let's try the sunset room;
We'll book a smorgasbord dinner, make it for forty,
Then come back to our place after, for tea or coffee.
Let's have a Christmas party, all family and a friend,
We'll sing lots of carols, and have a story at the end;
Each bring 1 present, for under the christmas tree,
And thank God for Christmas from you and me.

Rose Bouquets
I lay down
frilly covered
bouquet still
at my side;
lovely gown
arrayed
I lay down
rose petals all around
my arms at my side
my groom
outside
murmuring.
I am prepared
for this my surrender
or this my consummation;
this my mistake?
The Unknown?
The Alone?
The Bride.
Where do virginal brides go;
they hide in the rose petals
and wait.
I plucked a rose from
my bouquet-
gathered my
wits
and sat up on the bed
to walk to the door
to greet
my new husband;
face to face.
Bride I thought,
should stand up
because marriage now
means
more that courting;
marriage here begins
true partnership;
meet him at the door.
