Steel Beach
Five minutes ago,
the dessicated remains of a tiny spider rolled past me like a
(inser.t simile)
reminding me that
(inser.t metaphorical content)
a paradox, in that (cryptic allusion)
(allegorical fragment)
and I even stole the title
from a John Varley novel I’m re-reading.
(ironic pause)
I’m getting lazy.

Along Came a Spider
Three small children played under the trees,
giggling as the crimson leaves
floated down onto their soft, innocent hands.
They ran about after eacher other
until they collapsed on the roots
holding the forest together
and their breath came out as a flutter,
their giggles came out in bursts,
and their hair stuck to moist skin.
They were tired.
They decided to go hom for their supper,
as they knew that their mothers would worry.
But, along came a spider.
This spider was no monster.
It was no towering beast coming
to attack the children. To do them harm.
It simply scurried past them,
and somewhere in their human nature,
the children were told to follow.
The children did as they were told.
To a feast the children came, following this spider,
and grinned at a tiny table set for a hundred-
each guest sat in his chair.
Their friend, the spider, took his seat and awaited
his applause, for he had brought,
as the party knew,
their dinner, fresh and soft.
And so the insects climbed the children;
they giggle as the tiny feet
caressed their untainted skin,
and the children ran in circles
with their new tiny friends,
until the insects could hold on no longer
and the children were safe at home.

Spiderman
Spider man, spider man
Does whatever a spider can
Spins a web any size
Catches thieves just like flies
Look out!
There comes the spider man
Is he strong?
Listen, bud
Hes got radioactive blood
Can he swing from a thread?
Take a look overhead
Hey, there!
There goes the spider man
In the chill of the night
At the scene of a crime
Like a streak of light
He arrives just in time
Spider man, spider man
Friendly neighborhood spider man
Wealth and fame
Hes ignorant
Action is his reward
Look out!
Here comes the spider man
To him, lifes a big bang up
Whenever theres a hang up
Youll find the spider man.

The Mass Want To Be Fooled
Introduce surprises
To make stories interesting.
inser wonders
To make legends inspiring.
Enter the improbable
To make epics awesome.
Put in the impossible
To make mythology holy.
Incorporate miracles
To make religions obscure.
People will enjoy fooling
Themselves in the falsehoods.

The New Light Has Come From On My Jalousie Windows
the first thing i do in the morning is write my new poem
borne of the night
too weary to dream
but this poem keeps on stalking
always wanting to be written
write,
stare to space and let that stare linger for a while
like gathering some dust in air
or spraying the air with your shower of thoughts
speak
to yourself
like reminding yourself with words that have become too unfamiliar
because they are not spoken
words too get impatient and jealous
because of unuse
and furious too because of abuse
words too have lives of their own
and even feelings of their own
so you are telling me
be cautious be too patient and considerate
be compassionate
be strong
be happy be prayerful
i write the words again
on the positive side of things
the happier
hopeful categories
i open some shutters
slide some thoughts
inser my gaze and
spread some scrutinies
i am seeing a new light
from the jalousies
it is the soft morning light
and i really like it
i stand still and look
above this room
down to the things
below me
i see people moving
wearing the uniform
to their offices
they go
i almost forget,
it is a working day also for me.
the morning light has enticed me again,
i repeat, my friend, i still like it
here.

Between Walls Between Walls
walls around us
always walls around us
morning till noon
till night walls always walls between
us i try to inser some words
of consolation between us
all walls rain walls between us
there is no word for us
for it
we, it, we, us, there is nothing
between us
air, between, us, air, air, air,
between us, still walls, walls,
speak, speak
why, why are these walls still walls
between us
i guess, you are dead, then
cogito, eureka,
will i be a happy man then?

Ladder
Cook, look, hook, rook, took, book, nook, kook;
Take me home and show me your love,
For the ladder up there is far from me.
Ladder, adder, add, read, dear, red, lad, dad, led, are, era;
But inser the pole inside the tube of the foam!
Because your home is now intended for me alone,
And i have my peaceful mind set on this love.
Wide openings,
The ladder up there is very far from me!
But what goes around will surely come around one day;
And like the joy of your muse in the land of flowers.

If I Were A Sex Toy
Erotic parody of Beyonce's new hit, If I Were A Boy
If I were a sex toy
Even just for a day
I would't just hump her in the morning
and throw her out after I got what I wanted, no
Drink deeply from the gay guys
and go down on bicurious girls
I'd stick to whoever I wanted
and I'd never get confronted for it
Cause I would be doing only what they expected of me
If I were a sex toy
I think I'd like to understand
How it feels to lube up a curious virgin girl
I swear I'd better than any man
I'd easy and pleasy inser myself into her
Cause I know how it sucks
When you lose it to the one you wanted
Only to find yourself disappointed
Cos she took hers, but never gave you yours
Left all your romantic hopes and dreams destoryed
If I were a sex toy
I would't beat her like a drum
Leaving her sobbing and broken
Vowing never to be again with a lover alone
I'd put her pleasure first
and let make up the rules as we go
Cause I know her orgasms would be plentiful
Everytime we ran it on in
Around the bases to home, to home
If I were a sex toy
I think I'd like to understand
How it feels to lube up a curious virgin girl
I swear I'd better than any man
I'd easy and pleasy inser myself into her
Cause I know how it sucks
When you lose it to the one you wanted
Only to find yourself disappointed
Cos she took hers, but never gave you yours
Left all your romantic hopes and dreams destoryed
It's a little too late for you to give me my cherry back
Say you made a clumsy first timer's mistake
Think that I'll ever let you come back to hit that
If you thought that again I would give it up to you
You thought wrong
But you're just a sex toy
You're not even made to understand,
and you're not even made to understand
How it feels to lube up a curious virgin girl
Someday you wish you could be better than a man
You don't stick it to her right
You don't care if it hurts
As long as you get what you wanted
You don't care if you leave her disappointed
All her romantic hopes and dreams destoryed
But you're just a sex toy

The Lost Pride
from my mind I embrace his desire
With his words he ignore the faith of a liar
As he was a remarkable creature
I rush to satisfy his pleasure
In my mind I barricade my faith law
While I inser my clothes on the floor
Now my honour has been slush to dust
I regret, for my pride has been lost
Ages hence I still remember that day
Young people it is better not to go that way
If it's what you aspire, your career is at stake
As for me it was my greatest mistake
In it I lost my moral pride
And that act halter my chance as bride.

It Will Always Be You
Wherever I am or in whatever
Situation I find myself
Be it in prayer or
Play or serious consideration
Of me & her,
It will always be you in my mind,
My soul,
It will always be you, in all my sins
Today, tomorrow,
It will always be you, how can I ever
Learn to be
True to myself,
as it will always be you
In my brain
Damaged till the end, it will always be you, how
Can I ever imagine myself always loving you,
Always imagining you
While I make love to her, while I move around my world
I become so ugly in you and we become
So ugly like wrinkles and scars
But it will always be you,
& me, I swear, I inser always you & me in there,
And no one else,
It will always be you,
How can I be so unforgiving?
How can I be so dishonest?
Always in sin, always in the ecstasy in the wrong workings
Of my mind,
It will always be you just the same,
The world will never know, because it
Cannot understand, I can feel it.
It has only the cruelty for it,
Like savage to a slave.
Reverse me, tumble me, and hate me,
It will always be you. You will always never know.

The Myth Of Plato's Cave
Benighted in the secret haunt of night - myth
The deluge inherent in your mystic mirage
To demythologise us
Our dessicated hearts will absorb the flares.
In the cave of darkness - confined
Etched conciousness battered
Repining in the cryptic pearls of illusion
While there is surfeit
Of brightness outside.
There will not be a dearth of wariness
The riddle would not be approached
By waht they have promulgated.
One would be disentangled
From the entangling cave
Of night and will howl against the injustice
Of the darkness - blight.

Alright
Shes always reminding me that things are gonna be alright.
Yes, shes always beside me.
She keeps reminding me that everything will be alright.
Im so confused.
Shes not amused.
cause I do way too much thinking.
Its not supposed to be this hard.
So, she calls me out and theres no doubt that I do way too much drinking.
I guess its got me through this far.
When my life gets crazy, she can still amaze me.
Sometimes I think, hell, whats the use of going on?
But, shes always reminding me that things are gonna be alright.
Yes, shes always beside me.
She keeps reminding me that everything will be alright.
I heard the news.
I just refuse to believe that we were sinking.
Still cant believe they went that far.
So, I start to shout, but Im all cried out and still doing way too much thinking.
Cant seem to scrape away those scars. no.
And, if my life gets crazy, she can still amaze me.
Sometimes I think, hell, whats the use of going on?
But, shes always reminding me that things are gonna be alright.
Yes, shes always beside me.
She keeps reminding me that everything will be alright. alright.
I think I can finally see what shes been telling me.
Its all inside my head.
I guess I knew it all along.
And, shes always reminding me that things are gonna be alright.
Yes, shes always beside me.
She keeps reminding me that its all in me.
But, shes always reminding me that things are gonna be alright.
Yes, shes always beside me.
She keeps reminding me that everything will be alright.
She keeps reminding me that everything will be alright.
She keeps reminding me that everything will be alright.
She keeps reminding me that everything will be alright.

Most Fables
fables told at the table,
or formed in a stable,
metaphorical stories
with a moral and point
that simile and simple are unable,
to tell or spin a spell
of narrative magic,
told straight and forward
full of animals and analogies
more falacious than true,
are told to construe that naive
and simple have another view

Bad Poetry Makes Me Ugly
Bad poetry makes me ugly:
Look, each line, a cliche
Each blemish, a simile;
My smile grows more bitingly smug
With each overzealous superlative.
My raccoon eyes are ringed
By metaphorical self delusions,
Badly performing alliteration-
All improvisations of incompetence;
And then the clash of symbol, deranges all thought.
Choose only the wound that is in your heart
That you would earnestly enlarge upon,
Steadfastly ignoring all the others.

Glass Spider
Up until one century ago there lived,
In the zi duang provence of eastern country.
A glass-like spider.
Having devoured its prey it would drape the skeletons over its web in weeks creating a macabre shrine of remains.
Its web was also unique in that it had many layers, like floors in a buuilding.
At the top of this palace-like place, assembled with almost apparent care, were tiny shining objects, glass, beads, dew-drops.
One could almost call it an altar.
When the breeze blew thru this construction,
It produced sounds of wailing, crying.
Tiny wails, tiny cries.
The baby spiders would get scared and search frantically for their mother.
But the glass spider would have long gone, having known that the babies would survive somehow on their own.
Oh-the glass spider had blue eyes almost like-a humans.
They shed tears at the wintered turn of the centuries.
Dont you hear this wasted cry, life is over you
(mummy come back cause the waters all gone)
But youve seen whos in heaven. is there anyone in hell
(mummy come back cause its dark now)
Take care, take care.
(mummy come back cause the waters all gone)
Somewhere she glows divine. somewhere she wakes alone.
But you, youve promise in your lovin eye. God its dark now.
Jah jah jah jah jah
Jah jah jah jah jah
Gone, gone the waters all gone
Mummy come back cause the waters all gone
Stay low on the ground, my fire can drive you, savage and afraid
Spitting at the dawn, come along before the animals awake
Run moving all night, rivers to the left.
If your mother dont love you then the riverbed might
Gone, gone, the waters all gone
Mummy come back cause the waters all gone
Jah jah jah jah jah
Jah jah jah jah jah
Gone gone the waters all gone
Mummy come back cause the waters all gone
Gone gone the waters all gone
Mummy come back cause the waters all gone
Gone gone the waters all gone
Mummy come back cause the waters all gone

Snowball
My baby took our love
And then she rolled it up
Rolled it up a hill
Like a ball of snow
Like a snowball grows
Until it gets too big
Until she lost control
And it rolled back down
And it rolled back down
And it rolled back down
And it rolled back down
She took a tiny bit
And rolled it up again
Slower than before
She went a step too far
She had to let it go
I saw it go straight down
My baby turned around
Started up again
Started up again
Started up again
Started up again
Eyes were made for looking
Hands were made for holdin
Hearts were made for lovin
Lips were made for kissin
Legs were made for walkin
Tracks were made to follow
Thats what Im gonna do
Two tracks
In the snow
Two tracks
Up that hill
My heart broke
When my baby left
Two tracks behind

Night Worker
A spider spun his web all night
and waited patiently.
A fly had circled all the morn
and buzzed there cautiously.
The spider watched and stayed so still.
No movement did he make.
And by and by the fly descended
and landed wide-awake.
He spotted the spider and tried his best
to escape the sticky trap.
The spider watched and slowly moved
and the fly with his handicap
became the bait inside the web
that the spider made at night.
The spider had his breakfast early
in the morning light.

White Spyder
wander slow
and your kisses chase
what must I do
if only for your warm embrace
for all maintain
must you conquer pain
and every little spider that crawled up inside her
is waiting for my phone call
and now I remind her
of every single liar
living for the killing stone
white spider
will you crawl
white spider
the end has past

There is no sense following me
i am going to a place
i do not really know what and where it is
i have fears and so i talk to the grass
to pretend that i have someone to lean upon
some people mention about a resting place
there
but i cannot really imagine what rest is all about
i may have so much of this and that
here
and i cannot really relate well
what is that
somewhere
i like to say that i like it here but someone tells
that this is not the place meant to be
all fingers point there
and all thoughts think that it must be there
if i sit a little longer the eyes of my father stare at me
he says if i do that i will be his lifetime failure
those long dead give me dreams to walk and take the long journey
back home where they are preoccupied with waiting
i like it here my heart speaks trying to dominate this conversation
the mouth wants to inser what it has long wanted to say
and then you arrive and wait under a tree
you say you will follow me that you will always be nearer to me
i rise from the grass and then my feet take the faster pace
this time
