Simple Wish Of A Complex Person

There are too many faceless screams
and many more nameless diseases
in this grey concrete world.

I get more headaches than I can count
and too many bad news reports to doubt
this place is full of evil and hurt.

So take me somewhere flowers actually grow
and the wind smells of lawns freshly mowed.
I want to drink water without thinking of death
and cross borders without worrying about guns.
Remind me of laughter and childhood,
kiss me and make me laugh.

A Child Speaks...

being lost in childhood
is nothing
but meditation
often in serene atmosphere
i tune my nostrils
to absorb
the lost fragrance of childhood
and the ears
to hear
the lost voices of childhood
and memories...
where i lived with nameless grass
nameless plants...
and their nameless Flowers...
nameless colours...
i played with ants
and nameless insects...
nameless butterflies...
i lived in shrubs
as if in a wild forest
without name
without words
a child speaks...

Remind Me

Turn off that charm
Im through with love for awhile
Im through and yet, you have a fabulous smile
So if I forget
Remind me
Not to find you so attractive
Remind me
That the world is full of men
When I start to miss you
To touch your hand
To kiss you
Remind me
To count to ten
I had a feeling when I met you
Youd drive me crazy if I let you
But all my efforts to forget you
Remind me Im in love again
I get my heart, well in hand, and Im certain
That I can take you, or leave you alone
Then you begin that beguine again
And boom, I give in , again
I have a will made of steel, my friend
But when it seems about to bend
Remind me
Not to mention that I love you
Remind me
To be sorry that we met
Although I adore you
Remind me to ignore you
Youre one thing I will regret
So when your charm begins to blind me
Ill simply tie my hands behind me
Dont let me kiss you please, remind me
Unless, my darling, you forget

Childhood Is...

Childhood is hanging your pictures on the refrigerator, and tea parties you always have to cater.
Childhood is chasing butterflies and picking flowers,
playing with blocks and making towers.
Childhood is hating nap time,
and thinking everything is always MINE
Childhood is crayons and coloring books,
Playing hide and go seek in all the right nooks.
Childhood is falling asleep to your favorite lullaby,
wishing you had wings so you could soar into the sky.
Childhood is only crying over a scrapped knee,
or being stung by a bumble bee
Childhood is thinking boys have cooties,
or your mom making you wear itchy booties.
Childhood is ruining mommy's new leather,
and making friends and keeping them forever.
Childhood finally ends,
When you start to grow up,
And not having to drink out of a sippy cup

Pull The Trigger

Call up the guns
Beat on the drums
Join the hell
Grey magazines
Evil machines
Zero two ten
Eighty-eight millimetre mortal rounds
AK 47's make a hell of a sound
Rolling thunder's gonna get the better of you
If you wanna get ahead and win the hearts and minds
You gotta pull - pull - pull - pull the trigger
Fire your guns
You gotta pull - pull - pull - pull the trigger
Fire your guns
Pick up the phone
Start up the drones
Radio base
Head outta town
On enemy ground
Nothing to tell
Chain of command
News on demand
Security leaks
Innocent lives
Desperate lies
Deny all reports

In today's world, it is shortsighted to think that infectious diseases cannot cross borders. By allowing developing countries access to generic drugs, we not only help improve health in those nations, we also help ourselves control these debilitating and often deadly diseases.

Concrete Girl

Bleeding thoughts.
Cracking boulder.
Don't fall over.
Fake your laughter.
Burn the tear.
Sing it louder.
Twist and shout.
Way up here,
We stand on shoulders,
Growing colder.
Laugh or cry.
I won't mind.
Sing it louder.
Twist and shout.
Immovable shadows.
The concrete girl.
They'll rock your world to nothing.
And they're swimming around again, again.
And they're swimming around
The concrete girl.
Catch your breath like a four-leaf clover.
Hand it over.
Scream to no one.
Take your time.
Sing it louder.
Twist and shout.
Nothing to run from is worse than something,
And all your fears of nothing.
And they're swimming around again, again.
And they're swimming around
The concrete girl.
Concrete girl, don't fall down
In this broken world around you.
Concrete girl, don't fall down.
Don't fall down, my concrete girl.
Don't stop thinking.
Don't stop feeling now.
One step away from where we were,
And one step back to nothing.
And we're standing on top of our hopes and fears,
And we're fighting for words now, concrete girl.
And we're swimming around again, again.
And we're swimming around now,
Concrete girl.
Concrete girl, don't fall down in this broken world around you.
Concrete girl, don't fall down.
Don't fall down, my concrete girl.
Concrete girl, don't fall down in this concrete world around you.
Concrete girl, don't fall down.
Don't break down, my concrete girl.

The Great Grey Water

Now two have met, now two have met,
Who may not meet again—
Two grains of sand, two blades of grass,
Two threads within the skein—
Beside the Great Grey Water.

Two hands to touch, two hearts to touch;
And, here forgathered, we
Will not forget, may not forget,
Where last forgathered three—
Beyond the Great Grey Water.

Two glasses filled, two pipes to fill—
‘To all our fortunes, brother!’
And as they clink—like so—we drink
Fair passage to the other
Across the Great Grey Water.

For three have sailed, and one has sailed,
His sins, like ours, still on him,
God sleep his soul! five oceans roll
Their long weight all upon him.
O God! thy Great Grey Water!

But I am still, and you are still,
And here our chance has flung us;
True comrades we, but…there were three
And one is not among us
Beside the Great Grey Water.

A breathing space, a biding place,
Soft lights and beakers beaded,
Then out again and on again,
Unminded and unheeded,
Across the Great Grey Water.

Now two have met where three have met
With curses or with laughter;
And so our Day shall pass away,
And so our Night come after—
But, ah! the Great Grey Water

Dreaming On A World

I know I may be wishing
On a world
That may never be
But Ill keep on wishing
No matter how hopeless
Or foolish
It may seem
Ill keep on wishing
Ill toss my coins in the fountain
Look for clovers in grassy lawns
Search for shooting stars in the night
Cross my fingers and dream on
I know I may be dreaming
Of a world
Far from present day reality
But Ill keep on dreaming
No matter how unrealistic
Or naive
It may seem always keep dreaming
And toss your coins in the fountain
Look for clovers in grassy lawns
Search for shooting stars in the night
Cross your fingers and dream on
We must always be thinking
Of a world
As a place of infinite possibilities
And always keep thinking
No matter how hopeless
Or foolish
It may seem
Always keep thinking
And toss our coins in the fountain
Look for clovers in grassy lawns
Search for shooting stars in the night
Cross our fingers and dream on
Ill keep on wishing
We must always keep dreaming
Of a world
With equality and justice
Thinking
There could be a world
Without poverty and sickness
Wishing
Of a world
Without hunger and homelessness
Dreaming
Of a world
Where all people live in peace
Dreaming
Of a world
Dreaming
On a world

Me and Laughter Together Always

Sometimes I laugh out loud
Showing you that I could care less what you have to say
All that matters is that my feelings are hidden
Hiding from those who judge me and those who love me
And Laughter helps me do just that
Laughter is my better half
Laughter stands with me when I’m bored
Laughter comforts me when I want to cry
He keeps me company through grief and through happiness
For better or worse, in sickness and health, through thick and thin
I love Laughter and Laughter loves me back
And yet you don’t know why Laughter makes Me
Look deep into my eyes when I laugh and you’ll see
You will find all the hate, all the pain, and all the hurt
But if that’s all you see
You’re not looking deep enough
Look past the tears that I won’t allow to flow
Look past the memories that I can’t let go of
And when you see through all the hate, all the pain and all the hurt
You'll find Me
I cover Me up with Laughter
There are none who can see the true Me
They can’t see through my Laughter
And if you should happen to see Me
I won’t need Laughter to hide anymore
Because I can cry on your shoulder
I can smile and enjoy you company without a single sound
Only then, Laughter won’t be my protector
Until then, it’s Me and Laughter together always
I hide my feelings through Laughter
So if you’re trying to figure out what I’m thinking,
Laugh with me and you will then see...-Me

It Was Good Then

I go back to my childhood
And images come flying at me
These water color memories
That have faded to a certain extent
With the passage of time
Fade no more
But become no brighter.

I remember things in
Sunshine yellows
And frosty blues
Minty greens
And lavender hues.

I remember smells.
Is it even possible to remember
Smell?
But, I swear I do.

Days had their own smell
Skin had its own smell
Sticky with sweat
From playing outside at high noon.
The grass, flowers, and air
Were scented.
By some far away perfume
Carried from place to place.

I remember the feel of grass
Between my bare toes.

I remember laughter.

I remember the gnarled trunk of
A tree under my hands and
Shoeless feet
When I climbed all the way to the top
And was not afraid to look or
Climb down.

I remember being a gypsy child
Going from place to place
Town to town
Without fear.

I remember making friends
I remember innocence..

I remember
Security,
Something I have forgotten since.

I remember
Childhood
Water color memories.

The Truth About The Good News

I AM thinking

i agree with what the wind is telling
that from afar
some good news are waiting

and i bloat myself with hope
feeling like cotton
soft and useful

the wind left

and i waited for days for the coming of good news
like a cure for instance
for loneliness

or a miracle for the healing of a friend
who is dying
beside me

hands clasped towards heaven
for the skies to listen

I am thinking that the wind may have simply pitied our situation
and lied

and will not come back and stop
for we will always
remind about him about the good news

I am thinking

there are times when out of pity the ones that come here
say words
that they do not mean

and then
i sit again holding the hands of the dying friend
giving him
the good news from the warmth of my hand

it does not speak of healing
i does not want to remember anything

Listening

They walk in dreams
nightmarishly
spirits of nameless faces
staring without eyes.

The screams:
of a child
on whom you poured boiling water.

The screams:
of a girl made to wear only flesh, because
she ran away with a priest.

The screams:
of a wipped woman
who tasted the laughing moonlight.

Death makes a big hole
in a spooky silence!
Are you listening?

Evil Laughter

On thing I admire, nay two things
always strike me as admirable:
The way evil characters always
laugh with total happy abandon

About their plots to overthrow the
world, and the way they always
love their cats, mostly white with
blue eyes – given the importance

Of joyous laughter in our lives,
people having pets living longer,
healthy lives - this phenomenon
is deserving of attention

I am thinking of a scheme to overthrow
the world so I can throw back my head
to laugh long and hard and happily,
Hollywood has this down pat

By making villains keep taped laughter
in a box – preferably on a wheel-chair’s
side – as villains are mostly sitting there,
having lost a limb or two

They turn it on for special effect upon
pronouncing their next evil event – luckily
my cell-phone announces incoming messages
with a bout of hysterical laughter

I always irritate my wife by laughing along; the
cat I already have, an evil creature, trying to
scratch me whenever I pass - I’m sure to
enjoy all the advantages of evil

Laughter; keeping an arch-villain cat as the
basis of the evil plot that is my life!

Spread All Over The World!

Guns and bullets have spread all over the wolrd,
Homosexuals and Lesbians have spread all over the world,
Bombs and nuclear weapons have spread all over the world,
Sickness and dealdly diseases have spread all over the world!
And many do not have clean water to drink even though,
There are many rivers all over the world;
So, are we behaving better as human beings with our increased knowledge or,
Being worse than ever before in the world we live in today?

Kiss Me, Son Of God (alternate Version)

I built a little empire out of some crazy garbage
Called the blood of the exploited working class
But they've overcome their shyness
Now they're calling me "Your Highness"
And a world screams, "Kiss me, Son of God"
I destroyed a bond of friendship
And respect between the only people left
Who'd even look me in the eye
Now I laugh and make a fortune
Off the same ones that I tortured
And a world screams, "Kiss me, Son of God"
I look like Jesus, so they say
But Mr. Jesus is very far away
Now you're the only one here
Who can tell me if it's true
That you love me, and I love me

Every Frog Has His Day

[King:]
Oh mellifluous dwarf
prince of all the jesters
Funny little thing you are
Make me laugh
As God's voluminous star
[Hop Frog:]
Gracious majesty
Today is not made for laughter day
This moment sacred is more for royal sunsets
Then comic ruin or suicidal jests
[King:]
I'll be the judge of that thank you
Make me laugh le petite cur
Drink some wine
Lest you foul sweet time
[Hop Frog:]
Drink upsets me
please your liege
This would mark the death me
[King:]
I said drink you scabrous whore
Are you deaf as well as short?
[Tripitena:]
Kingdom's Sire
big as you are
Save such
bile for larger foes
[King:]
Make me laugh
'Fore I stretch your neck like a giraffe

Cheap Succes

We light a candle at your funeral but hell were not sad
This major opportunity is the best weve ever had
Well never come this close again, our own cheap abuse
This sacrifice youve made for us makes up for what we lose
We exploit the death of a good friend
Let evil make some money for our band
Can someone please kill my best friend?
Do you still have your virginity?
Were waiting for bad news to come to us and make us rich
Completed with an overdose, a perfect way to go
Our sales go up cause you are more worth more dead that youre alive
We exploit the death of a good friend
Let evil make some money for our band
Can someone please kill my girlfriend?
Cause in a world where theres laughter about others disaster
It can be wrong to use and survive
Inappropriate cheap success
We exploit the death of a good friend
Let evil make some money for our band
Can someone please rape my dead friend and tell me all about it?

I Must Rid Myself Of Clutter

I feel cluttered by the junk accumulated in my brain
And I feel this great desire to recover my creativity again
And to rid myself of the shackles of my negativity
Change your thinking and change your World and change my thinking and change me.

Years of worrying about little worrying is a waste of time
And feeling envious of my betters and condemning them in rhyme
I am well beyond the fifty and still close to poverty
Negative thoughts only cause clutter and in a rose a weed you see.

If you gobble with the turkeys with the birds you cannot fly
And to tell yourself you are perfect is to tell yourself a lie
And to rid yourself of clutter is to set your thinking free
You will see a different World and look at others differently.

Negativity, greed and envy I must cast all of these away
And be less critical of others and not hurt them in what I say
Change your thinking and change your World still so happens to be true
And never too late to make changes and to start once more anew.

When I look into the mirror I can see my hair is gray
And I keep on telling myself I looked younger yesterday
We can change our way of thinking we are what we want to see
If I see myself as younger I can see a younger me.

I must rid myself of clutter it is never too late to change
Though many of those who know me may see me as someone strange
Do my bit for self awareness and to my life bring harmony
I can only change the World if I start by changing me.

The Meanest Girl In Town

(words & music by j. byers)
Shell tell you that she loves you, make you feel just like a kid
Shell cry to you and lie to you, shell do most anything
Shell get right up next to you and the first thing that you know
Youll be telling her youre sorry because she hurt you so
I said shes evil the most evil girl Ive found
There aint no doubt about it, shes the meanest girl in town
Shell invite you over to her house at half past nine
Youll wear a suit, youll wear a tie and youll give your shoes a shine
Youll take a real deep breath and knock on her front door
Her little sister will tell you she dont live here anymore
I said shes evil the most evil girl Ive found
There aint no doubt about it, shes the meanest girl in town
And there aint no doubt about it, shes the meanest girl in town
Shell put her arms around you and squeeze with all her might
Shell breathe a sigh and pucker her lips and pull your arms real tight
Your heart will pound like thunder, youll melt in her embrace
But when you go to kiss her well shell laugh right in your face
Because shes evil the most evil girl Ive found
There aint no doubt about it, shes the meanest girl in town
