Reflection For Peace Minus War
We have to look at man's many past mistakes
If we are to improve our country's fate
In the past so many, many lives were lost
And, of course, we will never forget the Holocaust
Time and Time again men and women are injured in war
With refugees fleeing as gunshots soar
Yet we never seem to see any possible end
Wars just come, over and over, again and again
We've had more than our share of Hitler and Stalin
Never forgetting the terrible reign of Saddam Hussein
The world would be blessed if a dictator we'd never see
There would be less war, pain, death, and no refugees.

Saddam Hussein
The Dictator
Saddam Hussein
Was not sent to Haag
I wonder why?
Saddam Hussein
Tolerated Christians
Now they have fled
Saddam Hussein
Set women free to study
Now they wear chador
Saddam Hussein
Was a murderous despot
We gave him the tools
Saddam Hussein
We handed him to his foes
Silence on a long rope

Saddam Hussein was a brutal tyrant. I am glad he is now on trial for crimes against humanity. But, opposition to a dictator is not the measure I use when deciding whether to send our men and women in uniform off to war and possible death.

One Too Many
From the mistakes of the past we have not learned and war again it is being waged today
And in any war there never is a winner and for every war there is some price to pay
And everyone who dies in war is one too many whether it be soldier or civilian is the one to fall
It should not matter all people are equal and a soldier too is human after all.
Armies are still invading other Countries and this is the twenty first century
As long as we are ruled by ruthless people we never will know World harmony
There always is two sides to every story and those who cause wars must pay the transgressors price
And history will never look too kindly on those with power who have made the wrong choice.
This war to rid Iraq of Saddam Hussein is something we ought not to celebrate
How can you liberate a population if huge destruction in their Country you create,
On others you cannot impose your values by good example one can only lead
This war is hardly about liberation this war about it has the stench of greed.
Another war to start another century such a waste of human life and environmental destruction seems a shame
And of course there are two sides to every story and one side is not entirely to blame
And the Iraqi people will be the big losers it is their Country that is being destroyed
And this war like every war is very brutal and many injured and too many have died.

Saddam's Legacy
Saddam’s Legacy
A million Christians
Lived in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq
Now they have left
Save for a few hundred souls
Yet their plight goes unheard
Heed the echo
Of the loser of you war games
Christians yet Arabs
Fleeing the land of their heart
Unprotected and betrayed
This useless war
Fought for vain glory by us
Have we lost honor
Wallowing in extreme hubris
Future generation will pay the prize
Saddam Hussein
Was a bulwark against extremists
We hung him
Iraq is defenseless now
And al Qaida has a free run.

When Women Will Rule The World
When women will rule the World sadly i won't be around
My bones will be resting forever in some quiet dead person's ground
But what a World 'twill be to live in the flower of peace will bloom again
And for as long as women do rule the World peace in the World will remain,
For as long as men rule the World terror and warring will live on
They have not learned from the mistakes of past male leaders with men as leaders all hope of peace gone
When women will rule the World the World will be a better place to live in
Mothers will not have to weep for their dead children there will not be wars for to win,
Women give birth to the soldiers mothers do not want their children to die
A dead hero is better than a living coward that is if you believe a lie,
Women do not want their children fighting in wars far away
There would be less wars in the World if women had a greater say
And when women will rule the World war will be a thing of the past
The flower of peace will be blooming and beautiful peace it will last.

The Epanders OF Wars
The expander of wars are
White continents of dim
Thee the expander of disaster
Explosive mechanical
Thee rolled explosive to peaceful africa
For peace in reverse order
The expanders of wars are
The looters of our afrians resources
Return the golds to africa
The oil to libya
Thee poverish africa
The rejecter of africans
Free thee came to africa
Africans paid to her land
The wars expanders are
The destroyer of immemorial africa
Beautiful libya fell
South africa was possessed
No safe locked for refugees
refugees were prostrate and rape
Killers of our future
The fertilizers of our boulevards
The expanders of wars are
Best blenders of peace and dim
Best feeders of refugees an rebellion
Best thief for our resources
Best thief for our collective joy
Best continent, africa must rise

Destoyer
life is filled with ups and downs
There are many broken hearts
Some wounded by belated love
Refugees in wars they didn't start
Funeral bells ring in every land
We cry and hear eternities call
Time runs and each has their time
The Angel of death strikes all
I hear, You don't know the pain I'm in
No one knows what I'm going through
I may not realize all what you feel
This I have learned about attitude
Grief does not destroy, self pity does

An Election This Year Or Maybe Next Year
Set-date elections not mentioned in political propaganda,
It could interfere with their tax and spend schedule and agenda,
They will say or do anything to avoid a set-date election,
So all set-date elections are banned to avoid rejection.
This way they can have an election when they feel the time is right,
Because no negative media had recently come to light,
But refugees by the shipload might still arrive by day or night,
Therefore no election at this time and reason to stay out of sight,
How many navy ships will they send out this time to help refugees?
In case their ship might get lost while out on the high seas,
And binding referendums and death with dignity also banned
If we had binding referendums we would be in command.

Sing Us Songs Of Refugees
She said to the ballad singer sing us songs of refugees
Tell us of those poor sad people from Lands beyond the seas
Who have fled wars and famines for a better life elsewhere
Yet our Governments won't help them doesn't life seem so unfair.
Our Government supported those who invaded their Countries yet them we now disown
We have helped to bomb and ruin their Cities and scant respect for them we've shown
Lock them in detention centres tell them you are not wanted here
And we helped to make them Stateless and we only gave them fear.
For their own future and the future of their family we tell them you've jumped the queue
We do not want you in our Country there's no welcome here for you
Go back to where you've come from since here you cannot stay
We have too many of our own poor those who do not work for pay.
Sing us songs of refugees sir for the Stateless and downtrod
For the Homeless and forgotten and those of the lesser God
You have sung of love and heroes to your pleasant melodies
So for your last few numbers mister sing us songs of refugees.

Because Of Us
We will never defeat the terrorists with our oppressive laws
We will only defeat terrorism by fighting it's root cause
What are we doing one well might ask to alleviate poverty
In war torn and Third World Countries? not much if you ask me.
Because of us thousands of innocents in New York and Washington have died
And because of us so many dreams of life have been destroyed
And because of us in Afghanistan suffering and death dropped from the night sky
Those who say we are the good guys even believe their own lie.
And because of us in Iraq there is fear and death and pain
Far worse than the worst suffering inflicted on his people by the deposed despot Saddam Hussein
And since the Gulf war more than a million Iraqi citizens have met with a premature and tragic end
And why should they wish to believe us when we tell them we're their friend.
In a World where there is so much poverty terrorism will abound
For places of suffering and poverty are to the terrorists breeding ground
If we put as much effort into combating poverty as fighting terrorists then terrorism would subside
And people would live in harmony and peace would be Worldwide.
For the wars and deaths and suffering the terrorists we'll blame
But we ourselves not innocent we too play the dirty game
The game that causes grief and heartbreak they call it Us and They
But one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter at least that's what they say.
Because of us there are refugees and these poor people we demonize
And that they do not seem to like us comes to us as a surprise
And because of us and because of them there is only hell to pay
And that beautiful rose the Rose of Peace is withering to decay.

We went into Iraq because Saddam Hussein refused to account for his weapons of mass destruction, consistently violated UN resolutions and in a post-9/11 world no American president could afford to give Saddam Hussein the benefit of the doubt.

We Refugees
I come from a musical place
Where they shoot me for my song
And my brother has been tortured
By my brother in my land.
I come from a beautiful place
Where they hate my shade of skin
They don't like the way I pray
And they ban free poetry.
I come from a beautiful place
Where girls cannot go to school
There you are told what to believe
And even young boys must grow beards.
I come from a great old forest
I think it is now a field
And the people I once knew
Are not there now.
We can all be refugees
Nobody is safe,
All it takes is a mad leader
Or no rain to bring forth food,
We can all be refugees
We can all be told to go,
We can be hated by someone
For being someone.
I come from a beautiful place
Where the valley floods each year
And each year the hurricane tells us
That we must keep moving on.
I come from an ancient place
All my family were born there
And I would like to go there
But I really want to live.
I come from a sunny, sandy place
Where tourists go to darken skin
And dealers like to sell guns there
I just can't tell you what's the price.
I am told I have no country now
I am told I am a lie
I am told that modern history books
May forget my name.
We can all be refugees
Sometimes it only takes a day,
Sometimes it only takes a handshake
Or a paper that is signed.
We all came from refugees
Nobody simply just appeared,
Nobody's here without a struggle,
And why should we live in fear
Of the weather or the troubles?
We all came here from somewhere.

Man's Inhumanity
We have read about New York's Twin Towers and Hiroshima in Japan
Just for us two examples of man's inhumanity to man
And of Hitler and his Holocaust one who lives on in illfame
And of Stalin and of Mao and their awful crimes of shame.
We've heard of Pol Pot in Cambodia millions did suffer when he did rule
Some with power at their disposal they can be so very cruel
But in truth they were no different to some of the rulers of today
Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe as a despot now leads the way.
Streets in some Cities honour Oliver Cromwell yet if we go back in time
Against poor Catholic Irish peasants he committed many a crime
But 'tis said the winners write the war history with that one must agree
And Cromwell he is honoured for his crimes against humanity.
Idi Amin of Uganda of old age in exile died
The unmarked graves of his Homeland his shame forever hide
And up to a million Tutsis in Rwanda by their fellow Rwandans butchered to death
And this only in the recent past history repeats itself lest we forget.
We have not learned from history or so 'twould seem that way
So many despotic leaders in the World of today
And the Twin Towers of New York and Hiroshima in Japan
Are only two examples of man's inhumanity to man.

Into Homelessness
into homelessness
today suddenly I woke up from deadness
I was dead peacefully
All a beautiful death
My home -your home could only be this beautiful earth-
So I presumed I also reign high on this beautiful earth like you
When you leave to live
from one country to another country
You say
one home to another home
I thence also drew a border in my mind
When people say you are homeless and
I am into homelessness…into bigger home called the BIG EARTH.
And my heart turning in that pulse into another heart so BIG
I shrunk out from into these unlimitedness
From the world of my deadness to my aliveness
Again I shall be playing a game of
deadness and aliveness
Aliveness and deadness
So I am alive today
What do I want to know
Surrounded by the sounds of Silence and solitude-
These walls are all I feel protected-these walls
A way my life designed and desired
The world can pierce through these silences-these walls
And reach me- so far the world in the form of Television
I also depend on the Television to know everything
Shot by shot
Scene by scene
Frame by frame
Channels upon channels
Breaking news is my breakfast now
Still the game of yours and mine
Mine and yours was live in the air

Refugees
Hundreds of refugees in Cheopliang
I met a friend from America
Never feeling homeless, who carry the GLOBE in his backpack
I met a little boy from Cheopliang Refugee.Camp.
Asking his mother
Where on earth is my home
Mother replies-
the mother earth and your heart
i loved this part of the world
For they found this beautiful earth
For they found love-
smiling silently for they have crossed the border
no question no answer
I picked the eraser
and erased all from my mind the thickening border
Another they called me refugee
I was happy I am homeless
I was happy I am a refugee
I also found love in this lost
I was standing like a patriot in a nameless country
Holding the globe in my hand
NEWS of bloodshed reddened the screen of the Television
Load shedding
Suddenly the Tele. vision lay numb
The whole world shrunk into zero

To Soar
to soar among the heavens
wind rushing past
giving way to the blackness around
to soar among the heaves
wind rushing past
the uncertainty of tomorrow t
he wisdom of yesterday
to soar among the heavens
wind rushing past
through the galaxies
small spots of color appear
helping peace fill the void
to soar among the heavens
wind rushing past
a smallflutter in my chest begins
the colors all around brighten
to soar among the heavens
wind rushing past
the flutter becomes a beat
then a pulse
sound all around
music
to soar among the heavens
wind rushing past.

The Enemy in the Mirror
We looked in the mirror, saw the enemy but he was disguised,
We cancelled hanging killers long ago and who was surprised?
Without referendums our politicians can do what they like,
Political correctness gone mad though we surely dislike.
We seem helpless in the face of refugees coming in old ships,
Sent the navy out to help them finish the long dangerous trips,
As though we had an obligation not to rock their boat,
And invite other refugees and anyone else they promote.
As we demonstrate a complete lack of leadership all around,
Can't stop a million or two illegal refugees inbound,
Used to counteract the abortions and increase population,
And none of this is mentioned in any of our education.
