Over the coral sea
Above & below the coral sea
we don't condescend
with what's below
as tomorrow will be
another day
when we go
below the coral sea
The Red Sea
no, colours
a kaleidescope
of our spectrum
most miss
lest it's on tv.
We go do it
my mate and l,
the fish, the corals,
no need to bet
'cos one can see
that,
that mainly
covers our planet,
that which lies
beneath our sea
a beauty most never see..

O Sailor, Come Ashore
O sailor, come ashore,
What have you brought for me?
Red coral, white coral,
Coral from the sea.
I did not dig it from the ground,
Nor pluck it from a tree;
Feeble insects made it
In the stormy sea.

Pepples and Fish
dark nights the moonlight is bright,
the sea crashes onto the shore,
with the sounds,
from beneath,
the sea bed,
is full of fish,
whales and sharks,
coral's and pepples,
seaweed and love,
can bring the ocean,
Pepples And Fish
to life

A Flower To Auroville Mother-92
Kodiroja(Coral vine, Antigonon leptopus)
White Coral Vine(Antigonon leptopus 'Alba')
I sowed in my childhood
Eager I waited and stood
You grew into my heart
High to the Lord's feet
As high As Him so good
I can feel Him pleased
Your floral aura filled
Pinkish bracts guarding
Subdued flowers smiling
Thickened greens appeased
Coral, grow fast and wild
Slender tendrils upward
Hearty leaves in bushes
My heart well in clutches
Viny coral, twist entwined

Fossiled
The frisky jelly fish smiles,
As Neptune’s untamed sea-horse
Excavates
A mermaid’s heart - fossiled
Beneath white coral dreams.

Ten percent of the big fish still remain. There are still some blue whales. There are still some krill in Antarctica. There are a few oysters in Chesapeake Bay. Half the coral reefs are still in pretty good shape, a jeweled belt around the middle of the planet. There's still time, but not a lot, to turn things around.

Tear by Tear (for Onelia)
At night
I visit
the village
in which I was
born.
I float
above rooftops
dive into the house
next door
to my own
little home
swim down streets
with all the swagger
of a fish
amongst coral reefs.
It lies to the northwest
but is submerged
beneath the waters
behind a dam.
Each night
I visit it
leaving my body
behind
drifting in dreams
diving beneath the waters
of the Past
(swimming where) I used to walk
trying to remake it
memory by memory
tear by tear.

Fish vs. Humans
The fish swim in the coral
and we get stuck in school
Some fish are trapped forever in the aquarium inside the tanks
Some people are trapped by wrongdoings, and are put in prison instead of spanked
Fish swim in schools that look similar to them
Teenagers stay in clicks that I'm sure will never end
Sometimes I go to the aquarium and I admire all the fish
I wonder how many times fish think 'to be a human is all I wish'

Women are corals
A wave gathered wind, soared high,
And heaved afar on the coral, ashore.
It ebbed back, with memory of its touch.
The coral stood, unshaken, for another.
Women forget fast the past lovers.

The Grinning Crab
Come with me, said the fish to the crab
and I will show you a cave where beautiful coral live.
When do we leave, said the crab to the fish
and tell me what I should bring.
Just bring a sense of adventure, said the fish to the crab, and some sun tan oil
You forget, said the crab to the fish, my shell is thick and impenetrable by rays of any kind.
What about the metal-tipped arrows, asked the fish of the crab, from a cheeky cherub?
Oh they don’t stand a chance, said the crab with a grin.
The fish, having eyes that could not blink, felt the molten tears sting his star-crossed eyes.

Great Barrier Reef
I travelled to the Great Barrier Reef,
A whale was offering day-trip adventures.
He swam very fast and the journey was brief,
But he did a breach and lost his dentures.
Lots of other seals were there,
And quite a few humans too.
There was insufficient coral to share,
It was busier than at London Zoo.
I swam around a bit of coral,
It sparkled in many hues,
If this poem had a moral,
It would be to avoid the queues.

Full Moon
She was wearing the coral taffeta trousers
Someone had brought her from Ispahan,
And the little gold coat with pomegranate blossoms,
And the coral-hafted feather fan;
But she ran down a Kentish lane in the moonlight,
And skipped in the pool of the moon as she ran.
She cared not a rap for all the big planets,
For Betelgeuse or Aldebaran,
And all the big planets cared nothing for her,
That small impertinent charlatan;
But she climbed on a Kentish stile in the moonlight,
And laughed at the sky through the sticks of her fan.

Me OLD Mate JOE
My old mate Joe, his body has departed. My golfing mate, my Community involved mate, me Theater person mate, and then somewhere, somehow he sticks things in my mind. Knew and have known him. Joe is a real mate.
Some words from Joe.
Me names Joe, sometimes Joseph, and yes me coat was of many colours brave.
But I’m just an ordinary bloke, so it won’t take long, your precious time, I’ll try hard to save.
I loved me friends at the Unit, overalls resplendent orange colour bold.
I didn’t give much ceremony for acrimony, but I did my duties told.
Well, they indicated “procuring”, and in my chosen field I did sound.
I was the store man, I procured things you might say, but I lifted stuff, all for Mullumbimby bound.
Fire fronts, cookin’ stuff, liven’ rough, and I did that and some more.
Look at you, you RFS, eat me food get a break, then put the peddle to the floor.
And was I an ordinary golfer? The “Swamp Pheasants”, Mullumbimby Golf Club is well known.
Handicap? Golfer? What’s that? When me mates wanted points, well, suddenly stableford has grown.
Every Monday, me mates and I would go to do the battle.
Never won a lot, a golf ball here, two bob here, so lets’ go on with the prattle.
Beth Wicks, all off this, a profession will be unfolden’, the SEA HORSE SINGERS, and Byron Shire is the place that is beholden’.
I had a job, prop manager, curtain puller, our shows were for the locals.
Never seen so many folk, given’it out, singn’it out. Good on ya Geoff Dart’s focal vocals.
And then, OH boy, they put me in the show and then Goldilocks’ I was bound and more.
The Vegemite Kids, I’m on the skids, makeup makes us good I’m sure.
Marginally attractive, curiously distractive, I think ugly is the word, the inscription.
Joe’s me name, and I’m on me way and had a good time, on me cemetery description.
Have a little tipple climb every mountain, me partner Coral won’t object.
She had the job of carer, and it wasn’t good, that I expect.
I was just an ordinary bloke, I got more than I gave.
Help me settle down, depart this life, and don’t you be so grave.
Will you have a talk, but don’t talk of sad, and I’m certain Coral she won’t billya’.
Have a cuppa’, have a snack.
Now pour a little drink for me, willya’.

Atlantis
In that ocean.
Wide eyed and deeper in your gaze,
And bluer than the bright that's in the cave.
There is a city,
Came out from you, Atlantis
In ruins, sunken below the waves
But in the city,
Where there is no one.
What's the point of being free, eh?
When there is nothing there to tie me down,
Oh, no more here.
The bluest city,
Covered in coral and coral,
On sea chests,
And sealed Jamaician tales.
There is nobody
To count the soldiering meandering whales,
With a shoal of herring amongst the sails.
But in the city,
Where there is no one.
What's the point of being free, eh?
When there is nothing there to tie me down,
Oh, no more here.
There is the city Atlantis.

Black Silver
Silver is the mirror,
Where colours cannot run
From one into another
For silver it has none
Silver is a blackness
Which defies pure light to come
And when it does reflects it
Its image still as one
So that when you look upon it
Your face it will become
Not in silver, but the colours,
With which your face does run
Then with your world behind you
By light reflected one
Not in blackness, but in colours
You are colours of the sun
All mirrors do remind us
That colour is the light
And that they do not see us
In the darkness of the night
For colours are but energy
From the spectrum as it falls
On everything around us
Except, from silver balls
The colours of the rainbow
The colours in the sky
The colours of our galaxy
Are in a baby’s eye
Colours all around us
Enable us to see
That the world in which we live, is part of us,
Lifes chemistry

Lord Earth
My pen aligns you with my mind.
Such a maddening and transcendent art.
Still, I'm aware that all of my miseries.
Only exist within my heart.
For, if I died tomorrow.
The Earth would spin just fine.
And within a few mortal brains.
Lies my memory, still alive.
The Earth, however, won't remember.
Anything about my life.
And within the smoldering crust.
Lies a memory that had died.
A man dies in an avalanche.
Attempting to ascend.
His pride forever thwarted.
The planet wins again.
And though you die in agony.
And though you die in fear.
When you feel mortality fade.
The planet sheds no tears.
Few will certainly weep.
At the news of my demise.
But beneath the vastest landscapes.
Lies a memory left behind.
