Odyssey of the Soul
Childhood falls
Suffocated by lies
Promises of tomorrow
Trade the dreams of today
Consumer chase begins
A little piece of beauty
Sacrificed to adulthood
Wonder, Imagination
Don’t leave me now
Vanishing days
Carelessly slip away
Time and tide dispels
All childlike things
Life becomes dimmer
Too old for fun
Fun is fun it’s ageless
It is just fun, and its free
Maturity, yes maturity
Ever seen the world
Is this maturity?
I must act my age
My spirit rises before me
So many seasons, so much time
Eyes searching for a sign
Doesn’t anyone realise
Mistaken we equate childishness
For the gift of being childlike
Age straps on the chains
We become a worldling
Stolen childhood, silently
Lost Along the way
Childlike observations
Were not meant to wither
Imagination crushed by facts
Dreaming dreams, just dreams
Dreams worth coming true
This too will pass, with age
Who would have thought
walking between rain drops
would become silly
Capturing the frosted
Cobwebs on a twig
restricted to the young
Imagination, imagination
when did it happen
was I distracted
full of self wisdom
unaware that now begins
the oddyssey of the soul
the long trek home
to my Father’s arms

The Child That I Am
Blue, Red and Yellow
Are primary colors.
The colors of childhood;
The colors of children.
I am soft and innocent and childlike-
Trying hard to be childlike;
Trying to be vulnerable again;
Unaffected, Unassuming.
There is a quiet, serious look in my face;
An ache in my heart.
I am alone in my sorrow,
Driven by fear
To be childlike, expressive,
Truthful and wise;
To recapture the essence of living;
Of playing in childhood dreams;
Aware of the wonders of nature;
Sensitive to Flowers and things;
Passive in my joy;
Beautiful in my art-
The art of recreating childhood.

A Certain Someone
I see us walking hand in hand together
in every book I read and film I see,
but in reality, you are never near.
If I close my eyes, I can see us together
arm in arm and so much in love.
However, when I open them again
I realise it is only in my imagination
and you are never here with me.
Everyone has a certain someone
and I feel you are the one for me,
but waking up from my dreams
you are never anywhere to be seen.
When my dreams finally become reality,
everyone will be able to see
you and me walking together forever.
Until that day comes along
my arms will reach out in dreams,
for in that world you are mine
and loneliness is left far behind.
Tomorrow is another day of dreams
and longings over you.
Always just hoping I will wake up
and you will be here with me.

Dreaming of dreams that should be
The mind of you to bind with me

Why Do Children Want To Grow
Why do Children
of now adays
Want to grow so fast
to look grown up
to think grown up
But still be a child at heart
I would live my childhood
OVER again just to be a child
to have pure heart
Pure minds, pure dreams
Instead of a childhood of distain
To play without a care
And see the magic of Mother Nature
And use imagination
To dance on rainbows
And white fluffy clouds
To play hide and seek
In the candy land of our dreams
To ride on unicorns
And sprinkle fair dust
To take a flight in
A midsummer dream
Why would children of today
Pass all this by
Just to be grown up
In a world like ours
Why lose the innocence
Of childhood sweet dreams
Just to rush into
The uncertainty of life
Why bypass your childhood
Just to be an adult of today
only to yearn the loss
of you childhood of yesterday

My Imagination
Standing there with her arms around no one
No one who'd die for her right where he stands
Looking around like she's looking for someone
Looking like she's got time on her hands
Funny how much you can see in someone
Across the room who you don't even know
Telling you things she would tell to no one
Taking you places she's wanted to go.
Like a walk in the rain, a place in the sun
With a lifetime of love that has only begun
Doing all of the things only lovers can do
My imagination is running away with you.
Walking away and I'm walking beside her
Into forever here in my mind
Deraming a dream that we're dreaming together
Finding the things only lovers can find.
Like a walk on the moon, a dance in the stars
With a love light that finds us wherever we are
And our own happy ending will always come true
My imagination is running away with you.
As fast as I can running straight to your heart
Where the fantasy ends and reality starts
'Til I stop believing that dreaming is all I can do
And the fantasy might even come true.
My imagination,
It's only my imagination running away with you...

Your Imagination
Lyrics & music: daryl hall
I remember when i used to be the jealous kind
I got over it, now you're taking over my old line
You're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
I ain't doin' nothing that you could really say was wrong
Just one oversight and no that didn't last too long
Listen, you're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
Don't know what you're looking for
What's this thing about "true blue"
You know i ain't no danger boy
You're the one i like to touch, touch you, you
When the mood is right, change the light and the moment's gone
Better turn around, 'cause the light doesn't last too long
You're caring too much about what i say
You're wondering too much about what i do
And baby, your imagination
Imagination's got the best of you
Imagination, your imagination
Imagination, use your imagination.

Childhood Dreams
Said the little Boy to the little Girl
“When I grow up, I’ll be King of the world,
A cowboy, a fireman, the singer in a band,
A scientist or the greatest ball player in the land.”
He never said to his childhood friend
“I’ll be a junkie in the end-
I’ll watch as the dope steals my job and my wife
My self-respect, my children, and eventually, my life.”
That little Boy had plans and dreams
That weren’t about falling apart at the seams.
Said the little Girl to the little Boy
“When I grow up I’ll bring such joy,
I’ll write a song or maybe a book,
I’ll be a model, a mother, a teacher, a cook.”
She never thought in a million years
“I’ll end up a crackhead who has cried all her tears
Whose only wish is another hit,
Who’s lost her soul and herself to it.”
That little girl had dreams in her head-
She never thought she’d be walking dead.
The Moral of this story sad but true
Is that these things could happen to you
Or me, or anyone, it seems, who forgets
Their smaller self and their childhood dreams,
The hungry ghosts with their tortured eyes
Got caught up in their webs of lies.
They lost their dreams, abandoned hope,
And sold their souls to the gods of dope.
But dreams of childhood can always renew-
And mend the hurts life puts us through;
Let Go, Let God(ess) take your pain,
And Change and make you Whole again.
Let Great Spirit open up your eyes
And tell you truths, not twisted lies.
Let Peace Begin inside of you-
The Peace of God which will make you new.
Let Mother guide you as you go,
And learn from watching the river flow.
If you will do these simple things
You’ll remember your Childhood Dreams.

Keep On Dreaming Your Dreams!
The wisest, kindest words of all,
'Keep on dreaming your dreams! '
Exciting dreamy dreams enthrall
Beyond your well-planned schemes!
Let fancy thoughts fly through the night,
Like moths and angels do!
Like planes flown by the Brothers Wright
Across the midnight blue...
Each teensy-weensy human soul
Has faith the world can't see,
Yet there it waits to take control,
To set your spirits free!
Its childlike essence can't be rushed!
Its miracles take time!
It's well-protected, can't be crushed
And truly quite sublime!
Take time apart from worldly woes...
Refresh yourselves, dear friends...
Pray daily, for we know God knows
And on Him, all depends!
So always wish upon a star,
No matter how life seems!
Heaven's above, here, near and far...
'Keep on dreaming your dreams! '

Crimson Amongst The Gold
We watch the burning sky
as the setting sun warms
it just before night falls.
The crimson amongst the gold
where our dream lie
to be awoken in our hearts.
Beyond the horizon
where we always want to be.
We see the world there
as something we have not got.
The life we dream about
we know it lies there.
In the night, we reach out to touch the stars
knowing that if we touch them
all our wishes and dreams
will one day come true
in our tomorrow’s quest
down life’s road.
We keep walking to our sunset
never knowing when destiny
will take us to our dreams.
That paradise just beyond our imagination
where all things are possible
and some day will be.

I Believe In Dreams
I believe in dreams,
The only light to a future,
Not yet sure,
Yet felt.
I believe in dreams,
For by their dreams,
Nations were born,
In barren farmlands.
I believe in dreams,
Beyond imagination,
My only hope of
Genuine fulfillment.
I believe in dreams,
Watch me wallow,
In what my days will be,
From posterity's heart.
I believe in dreams,
The wine of later,
I feel and taste,
In eager anticipation.

Imagination has brought mankind through the dark ages to its present state of civilization. Imagination led Columbus to discover America. Imagination led Franklin to discover electricity. Imagination has given us the steam engine, the telephone, the talking-machine, and the automobile, for these things had to be dreamed of before they became realities. So I believe that dreams--daydreams, you know, with your eyes wide open and your brain machinery whizzing--are likely to lead to the betterment of the world. The imaginative child will become the imaginative man or woman most apt to invent, and therefore to foster, civilization.

What Am I Without Beliefs, Without Hope, Without Dreams?
So many beautiful things and wonders
Surround me
But I, in my isolation and weariness
Cannot see
If you were to build a fine crystal palace
I would compliment every detail
But inside brush it off as a mere shack
Because beautiful to me isn't real
If you bought me a world
You would bring me to tears
Because I won't let myself achieve
Beyond my dream fears
I fear I'm so far gone now
I may be unable to return
I've lost my way
And with every turn
I'm distancing myself
All my life
I've waited for my dreams
Pinned my life on them
But it's not what it seems
I could have them
If I genuinely wanted
My dreams to come true
I could have reached them by now
But no, it's Alex who?
I've failed
If I was worthy of them
I would have found a way
Despite the pain and fear
I wouldn't now say
I've failed
Is it still worth trying?
I guess I'll always say yes to that
But still it seems I'm beyond my sell-by date
And I just don't know what the point is without my dreams
I guess that's why I held onto them for so long
But they're not coming true
And I've only myself to blame
Because if you want something that much in this world
You reach out and grab it
And never let go
But I see now I've been a coward
This whole time I thought I was being strong
By just holding on
But that was a lie
Maybe I wasn't born for this
Maybe I wasn't born for anything
Maybe everything I believe in isn't real
That's what seems to be happening
And without my dreams I am nothing
Not worth anything
To me
At some point, I'm going to lose it completely
Freak out, go nuts, lose my cool, whatever
And then I suppose that will be the final decider
Dreams or this continued
Life or a slow and lifelong death
And I don't have faith in myself right now
I don't believe in this shell of a person
Because right now everything is crumbling around me
All that was real is not
And all that was not real now is
So what am I supposed to do?
If these are all tests to see if I'm worthy
To make me into the person I'm 'meant to be'
Then maybe I'm just going to fail at those tests
Not everyone passes every test in life
I'm not an achiever
I was a believer
But that has been stolen
Science came along and took away imagination
And now I just don't know what to believe
Through it all; through everything
I've always believed in something
'There's always something'
'Religion and Beliefs'
'People I care about'
'The person I'm meant to be'
My dreams.
But they're slipping down the drain faster than water
And I can't seem to reah out and hold on anymore
But without my dreams
What the hell do I do with my life?
Simple answer: die

Children Of The Heart
Have you ever left?
Your childhood alone
Have you ever let?
Your childhood dreams go
I've never really known
The joys a child should know
I've never really seen
What it's like to just being a child
But in each of us there lies
A child breaking to be free
To learn life's mysteries
In child like dream
To run with friends and family
Free just like a breeze
To play in the fields
Of a childhood memory's
What is it really like?
To be a warrior of old
What is it really like?
To be innocent in ones life
What is it really like?
To be a hero in a child's dream
I sigh and often dream
What it would be like to be free
Free of all your burdens
In a child's innocent world
Of dreams
Can you explain to me?
What the mystery a child hold's
Why do we crave
Our childhood of old
I smile and think often
Deep inside my soul
There will always be a child
Bursting forth to be free
Just wanting to let go
There will always be a child
Wanting all their dreams
To fly into a world of fantasy's
And just being free
Smiling softly to myself
I close my eyes and dream
Of when I was a little girl
Reliving all my dreams

Where Dreams Make You
Ah, to awaken in the aegis of your amorous embrace,
Entranced by the awe-inspiring beauty of your Angelic face,
Ever-enraptured and enamored by your amazing grace-
An emotion embossed upon my soul, which time itself may not efface!
If only wondrous dreams could marry reality
And an existence as this, supplanted the duality
I now live, betwixt what is veridical and mere fantasization;
If but I may conjure it up, with my imagination,
Then I may learn to fashion verity, from thought,
To make my dreams come true, where now, they are not!
For now my beloved, all I have are fanciful dreams,
Where you are made real-or so, to me, it seems,
As I somniate in a state where my dreams may make true
All I have ever wanted-where dreams make you!

Do You Believe In Imagination?
Do you believe in imagination?
That makes you sore across the sky
Do you believe in make believe
Where you can be a Hero or a spy
Do you think you can show the world?
And make them understand your dreams
Do they wait in baited breath?
To hear your muse your fantasy
Do they look upon your face?
And see the ecstasy
That lies for every in your dreams
Dormant to be free
You think, and then sigh
Oh no not I
It’s impossible to dream
But then they tap upon your door
Asking please share all your dreams
You smile and think
It’s time to bare
Your inner truer being

Hidden Unknown
childhood: unknown excitation -
the world primordial-new,
mysterious place where
dreams are dreams and reality
tastes
of the unexpected
and then
adulthood: stale
ingrained pathways bleach
the world into
a sterile representation
of the dreams childhood grew.
on occasion: a thought,
moment or event,
triggers a resurgence of
this hidden 'unknown' and then -
it is gone
and a staid world remains.
how to break habitual chains?
how to regress to innocent state?
if we could,
would we?
should we?
or is it
too
late?

One can't rely on eyes, When Imagination is out of focus!
Eyes can't lie, as they are without
imagination.
When one perceives is hidden
behind cloud of his own
imagination,
How can a schizophrenic can recall who he is,
as seen by others! Mind and intellect when has their
own colours or have colour
blindness,
How can feel true colours of life? When imagination outfocus
senses,
When window is covered by
curtains,
How can one can look clearly at
the world? Room when fitted with filters
and deodarants,
How can one feel the enchanting
odour of soil on first rain fall?
What can be the beauty of
flower, or that flying butterfly to one
wearing coloured glass? When imagination fly above,
losing contact of ground,
The birds eye vision may be vast,
Yet lose minute details,
loses that nut and bolts which
can fit everything!
Never come to conclusion about
anyone,
Never allow prejudice to hold
your mind back,
Let imagination dance on solid
ground, Based on impartial observations!
Learn,
Every beautiful butterfly was
ugly, ever hungry worm before
its metamorphosis!

Imagination
What do you do with yourself
When you see the storm clouds rising
Feeling alone with yourself
As the sun fades away
The memories come to and fro
The trouble is they never want to go
They come never go
Its just your imagination rolling over the past
It can change your mind completely
Its just my imagination running wild and too fats
But I know it wont defeat me
Look into the eyes of medusa
And shell turn your world to stone
Shell tear at your eyes and seduce you
And your soul will be gone
The messages and hidden dreams
Of former lives and lovers never seen
A love never seen
Its just your imagination rolling over the past
It can change your mind completely
Its just my imagination running wild and too fats
But I know it wont defeat me
What do you do with yourself when your lost on some horizon
Taking a hold of yourself
When you know the timings wrong
The memories come to and fro
The trouble is they never want to go
They come never go
Its just your imagination rolling over the past
It can change your mind completely
Its just my imagination running wild and too fats

My Father's Eulogy
Ladies and Gentlemen,
You are all gathered here today
To pay your respects to someone you knew.
However,
I come today not to bury my father
But set him free.
You see
The man who was my father died
Along with his dreams
Many years back.
He was slowly crushed by disappointments
Until he no longer wished to fight
This shell was not the father of my childhood
Who stood straight as the redwoods
He is not the man who knew how to laugh and play.
My father bartered his pride for too small a price
And became a pauper.
His self esteem slipped away long before his last breath.
He had been trying to suffocate himself
Under his own weight.
I knew him when he still had a twinkle in his eyes.
So,
Do not cry for this body before you
Because you never met the actual soul
That so long ago was housed in his body.
He deformed himself to the extent
That even he no longer recognized himself in his reflection.
Perhaps it was easier not remembering
Who he use to be.
I inherited my sense of humor, my love of music,
My quickness and speed from my father,
Even my biting sarcasm.
My spirit seems to be my mother's.
For those of you who knew him in his youth
You knew him better than me
For those of you who knew him with a young family
You knew him as well as me.
For those of you who met him once he was broken
You may have seen a glimmer of who he use to be,
And, that, on a good day.
I will say again,
Thank you for your presence
I will ask you kindly,
Not to weep.
My father left this life long ago
Because in his dreams
He could hide from the world and find his peace.
Let him sleep a last long slumber
And,
I wish him beautiful dreams.
