My Mom
Your the reason I get up in the morning.
If it weren't for you I'd still be snoring.
You've been with me 16 years.
You've even helped me face my fears.
I could swear you hung the stars.
In kindergarten you helped me learn my R's.
You were the one who taught me to drive.
You make me proud to be alive.
Everything you go through never makes you hesitate.
Because one day you know you'll see me graduate.

I always knew where I was going eventually, so it helped me to stay at home for three years. It helped me to develop my game. But it also helped me off the ice. Life here is way different, and I was able to get older.

He Is The One
He helped me to face my fears
As my eyes began to tear.
I was the lamb who lost my way
He took my hands and showed me how to pray.
He helped me to find my family and friends
I was helped once again.
Thru him - I was able to save my soul
And once again I was whole.
He came to me in my hour of despair
And showed me that he truly cared.
He is the one - that can stop a tsunami tide
And the one who gave sight to the blind.
He is the one - who greets you on baptism day
And washes all your sins away.
As a catholic he is there for your communion,
Confirmation, and your wedding day
He’s the one that gives the bride away.
It does not matter in what religion we believe
For god is but one, who has planted the seed
He gives us faith when we’re down and out
And shows us what love is about.
He is the one who has my heart
and allows Me to wake up every morning
with a brand new start.
HE IS THE ONE - can’t you see?
“In him you must believe.”

Music Of My Heart
(with N Sync)
You'll never know, what you've done for me
What your faith in me, has done for my soul
You'll never know the gift you've given me
I'll carry it with me, yeah yeah
Through the days ahead I'll think of days before
You made me hope for something better
And made me reach for something more
You taught me to run
You taught me to fly
Helped me to free the me inside
Helped me hear the music of my heart
Helped me hear the music of my heart
You opened my eyes
You opened the door
To something I've never known before
And your love, is the music of my heart
(music of my heart)
You were the one, always on my side
(always on my side)
Always standing by

Seeing me through
You were the song that always made me sing

And your love, is the music of my heart
What you've taught me
Only your love could ever teach me
You got through when no one could reach me before

Leap Of Faith
There is strength deep inside me that I never knew I had
Theres a fire within burnin bright
There is a love inside of me that I never thought Id feel
Until the day you came into my life, yeah
And it was you that were there when no one else was
And you show me a love unknown, ooh
You kept the fire burnin
You kept hope alive
And when my soul was fallin
You helped me to survive
And you led the way
Encouraged me to take that leap of faith
Theres a dream that I dream, I never knew it would come true
Theres a place I never thought that I would be (ooh)
There is a chance (theres a chance) that I took (that I took)
That I never thought Id take
Until you came and helped me to believe, ohh...
You were there when no one else was
And you showed me a love unknown
You kept the fire burnin (you kept the fire burnin)
And you kept hope alive (and you kept hope alive)
And when my soul was fallin (and when my soul was fallin)
You helped me to survive (you helped me to survive)
And you led the way (ooh)
Encouraged me to take that leap of faith
(Of faith, of faith, of faith, of faith, of faith, of faith, ooh)
Leap of faith (faith)
Oh, yeah
Ohh-oh-oh...
You showed me just how
(How to believe in me) in me, ohh...
You moved that tree and tore that forest there for me
You kept the...
You kept the fire burnin (you kept it burnin)
You kept hope alive (you kept hope alive)
And when my soul was fallin (my soul was fallin)
You helped me to survive (yeah, you helped me to survive)
Ahh... (you led the way)
Encouraged me to take the leap of faith, yeah
You kept the fire burnin (whoo!)
You kept hope alive (you kept the hope alive, hey!)
And when my soul was fallin (my soul was fallin)
You helped me to survive (but you helped me to survive)
Ahh... (you led the way)
Encouraging me to take
The fire (kept it burning) hope (all my life)
My soul (someones callin) you (Ill survive)
You led (the way) encouraged me (to take)
That leap of faith and make it over
Now I owe my thanks to you, ho-ohh...
You kept the fire burnin (woo, hey)
You kept hope alive (you kept hope alive)
When my soul was fallin (when my soul was fallin)
You helped me to survive (ooh...you helped me to survive)
Ohh...yes, you did
Pushing me to take that leap of faith
You kept the fire burnin
You kept hope alive

What Exactly Is A Friend?
Could you answer this question?
What exactly is a friend?
Is it someone who’s there for you?
Until the very end
Maybe it takes someone special
Somebody brave and kind
What if it’s someone clever?
Somebody pure of mind
A friend is strong and caring
A friend you are to me
A friend is someone thoughtful
A friend is you, you see.
You’ve helped me to see the beauty,
That’s present in every star
I think you’ve really helped me,
One day you will go far
You’ve put a smile on my face,
And helped when I was sad
You’ve been here through everything
Even when things were bad
A friend is always there for you
A friend through thick and thin
A friend is a form of angel
To solve every problem you’re in
Friendship alone is difficult
But two can make it strong
When friends are very close
You really can’t go wrong
Loving you is easy
I promise what I say is true
If you hadn’t come to Carrie’s
There’d be no me and you.
I love my best friend dearly
She makes everything okay
Without my sister in my life
I wouldn’t last a day.

Portrait Of A Poet
The poet looked at what he wrote,
The rhythm and the rhyme
And of each error he took note,
Correcting each in time...
His diligence was his best friend,
It helped him to relay
The English most could comprehend
So that they wouldn't stray...
The poet counted syllables,
Eight, six, eight, six each verse,
For these obeyed his rhyming rules
And helped him to rehearse...
You see, he spoke the lines out loud,
As if the Lord to hear,
As if to make his Father proud,
With diction crystal clear...
The poet shed a tear at last,
Because his work was done,
For every test the poem passed...
The battle had been won!
The publishers were well impressed!
In fact, he won first prize!
With diligence, he'd done his best...
That's always good advice!
He taught his children how to write!
So they'd get published, too...
With pearls of wisdom and insight,
So credit where it's due...
His poems were in magazines
And books both near and far,
Yet skills like his weren't in his genes,
He simply raised the bar...

A Legacy
Sometimes we meet someone
through a family member
and immediately there is an attraction,
not a physical one,
but something much deeper.
As time passes, friendship ensues
and the person teaches you things
that you will never forget.
They help you through the awkward years
from teenager to adulthood.
You mature beyond your years
without losing your individuality.
I know this is true as it happened to me.
There was no song and dance,
just two lonely people meeting,
taking a chance on friendship,
gathering memories as they went.
Then illness overtook the elder
and they had to move away.
The younger never got the chance
to say a goodbye.
A chance meeting years later
at a busy bus stop brought pain
with the acknowledgement
they would never meet again,
knowing he could never say
just how much she had meant to him,
how their friendship had enriched his life
and helped him grow
even as he grew older.
Her memory remained alive,
which helped him through the difficult times
to go on and survive.
God had taken her to his side,
the reason he did not know why,
but in her passing she left so much behind.
She helped too much to mention
so her kindness he could pass on.
A legacy we all want to leave
and hope we are that strong.

A Conscientious Father
You have been a conscientious father,
You always gave me a helping hand,
You comforted me during times of tribulation,
You always helped me take a formidable stand.
You always helped to satisfy my needs,
And to alleviate many of my daily fears.
You encouraged me when failure was inevitable,
And strengthened my will to succeed through the years.
You proudly supported me everyday of my life,
When the turbulence was rocky and long.
You instilled an everlasting courage in me,
Supporting righteousness - censuring evil and wrong.
Your positive guidance and direction enabled me
To restore strength and courage to my heart,
Never complaining as my formative years went by,
Accepting the responsibilities of doing your part.
Now, that you have departed from this earth,
A thought that always makes me so sad,
I gratefully remember what you meant to me,
As I tearfully say, ' Thanks for being a wonderful Dad.'

~ FATHER ~ [ Double Acrostic ]
Forever loving thru' the years. You dried my eye's with patience. When they
~~~Filled with tears. Fair and strong '' your love '' had quelled all of my fears.
Always there, with outstretched hand. With hugs that felt to me so grand.
~~~Always you were so comforting. Those days you were my everything.
Teacher you be! You taught to me. All that's right from wrong.
~~~These values you've instilled so lovingly. Helped to make me strong.
Healer of my heart, your my conscience and my model too. These qualities
~~~Have touched me deeply and made me so proud of you.
Everlasting is the bond that we share together. The gift's you gave to me
~~~Each day effectually. Shall last now and forever.
Respect, admiration and love I send your way. From my heart you are
~~~Remembered, have a ' Happy Father's Day '! ! I Love You Dad....

His Gracious Guidance
He touched me from Heaven above and filled me with His tender Love,
For Christ said we were to be wise as serpent, but harmless as dove.
He moved on me from the start to learn to love Him with all my heart,
As this gracious change in my heart was indeed the message to impart.
He made my troubled anguish cease and filled me with a gentle peace,
Around this world it will not be, yet in my heart it shall increase.
He helped me in due time to see what it was that He wanted me to be,
Which was someone to share with the world his or her Eternal needs.
He helped me deal with each daily nuisance with a God given patience,
As evidence to all around me that Christ makes a profound difference.
He helps me each and every day with all the words I needed to say,
For He just might bring one in need of The Word across my path today.
He taught me how to deal with abruptness with a true loving-kindness,
For people, like I once did, are dealing with a Spiritual blindness.
He helped me through The Spirit to walk all of the words that I talk,
For it's hypocrisy inside The Church that makes people outside balk.
He changed my tendency to be coy, by filling me with His Eternal Joy.
Not an emotion for a time to enjoy but something no one can destroy.
He filled me with a Holy Fear to understand that His return was near,
As a Christian my duty is clear, you must be ready, when He appears.

It took a village to make me a college graduate, thank you dad
When I was a little girl I quit dreaming. I never played with dolls or believed I would be married someday. I never believed I would be a mom. But something happened when I turned thirteen. You gained custody. You took me all by myself fishing and talked about the sky. You gave me individualized attention. You helped me dream someday that I would be a wife, a mom, a worker in society. You helped me dream.
Now its true I'm a wife, a mother, a college graduate
Thank you

(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman
Lookin' out on the morning rain,
I used to feel so uninspired,
And when I knew I had to face another day,
Oh, it'd make me feel so tired
Before the day I met you,
Life was so unkind,
But you're the key to my piece of mind
CHORUS:
'Cause you make me feel,
You make me feel,
You make me feel like a natural woman (woman)
When my soul was in the lost and found,
You came along to claim it,
I didn't know just what was wrong with me, no,
Still your kiss helped me name it
Now I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for,
'Cause if I make you happy I don't need to do more
CHORUS
Oh, baby watcha done to me?
Ooh, you make me feel so good inside,
And I just a-wanna be
Close to you, you make me feel so alive
CHORUS:
You make me feel,
You make me feel (Oh, you make me feel),
You make me feel like a natural woman (woman)
You make me feel (Oh, you make me feel),
You make me feel,
You make me feel like a natural woman...

Carve my initials in a tree, I will never leave
Maybe one day Ill be royalty

The swings on the playground dont even fit me anymore

Bells not ringing
Held back again
Everything got quiet suddenly; no dolby

The extra space
the poet when he attains maturity
in his works is a man distilled
by nature so that his verses
glitter like stars in the sky
his thoughts, his concepts
are a glassful of sparkling
vintage wine the years helped
decloak to reveal its
subtleties and finesse as it
waltzes off the loving warmth
of our tongue
the poet's evey move
will be scrutinised
by an audience who
the poet has helped unloosen
a button on the mind
so that now they think with
a new treasured space
the spectre of a plato and aristotle
confucius and rumi

Masters
I learned the art of drawing from the sky
learned music from the oceans.
Sun who taught me to fight
and the Moon who taught me to weep.
Arithmetic and Algebra I don't like,
but the twinkling stars helped me a lot to count figures.
Geography and History those are my best.
After the examination I waited for my results
and saw it's written in the sky.
My parents won't believe this
I got a zero for each subject.
I was upset and came running
searching everywhere the Life-Tavern
to have a cup of pain killer,
Then I saw a ragged beggar
Who's never been to a school
Taught me to smile.

Thirty Years
IT'S THIRTY YEARS THAT I'VE SLAVED.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT I'VE SAVED
I BOUGHT SOME STOCKS THEY SAID WERE STARS.
NOW BANKS OWN MY HOUSE AND BOTH USED CARS.
THE KIDS DO CALL, BUT NOT ENOUGH.
THAT ALIMONY MAKES IT TOUGH.
THINGS ARE BETTER SINCE I MET DEB.
SHE'S HELPED ME BACK FROM MY LOW EBB.
WE'LL MARRY SOON, BUT BOTH ARE NERVOUS.
WE CARRY SCARS FROM PREVIOUS SERVICE.
THE NEXT THIRTY YEARS I WON'T BE CONCERNED
WITH DEBBIE, FRIENDS AND WHAT I'VE LEARNED.

I Bid Farewell To Poetry
I bid farewell to poetry
I wrote a lot that helped me see
A little deeper in myself
I guess it helped my mental health
But now the time has come I think
To face real issues, not to sink
Into a tangled mass of rhyme
That deals with problems that are mine
So my time here is at a close
And maybe i shall turn to prose......
