Love With Strings Attached
My first love wasn't flesh and blood
She was wood metal and plastic
With curves that drove men wild
My Gibson SG the best guitar I ever owned
Running my fingers up and down her neck
Applying pressure in all the right places
While stroking her firmly with my other hand
Coaxing from her a scream of sheer pleasure
No tremelo bar vibrato by hand
Playing her was almost as good as sex
And when we were done she didn't ask Do you love me
But I did love her
Holding her I was a rock star
Playing before thousands of screaming fans
Not really just some of the neighborhood girls
A teenager playing guitar in a basement band
One of maybe five or six on the block
Playing just as much to impress the girls
Than as for the love of the music
Saturday afternoon grab my guitar
Meet the rest of the band in the drummers basement
We kept our equipment there
Except for the small amp I had at home for practice
The music would flow out into the street
Through the open basement windows
One by one the neighborhood girls would come by
Practicing flirting with the band members
That's how I met her
The girl who would bear my children
Her curves drove me wild
And my SG couldn't compete
We fooled around she got pregnant
Doing the right thing I married her
Our daughter was the most beautiful baby ever born
Here I was a teen-aged husband and father
When money started getting tight
We sold things we felt we didn't need
Until we ran out of such items
And there was only one thing left
I took the SG to a local guitar store
They offered me a fair price
I accepted it
Back home I cried for losing my first love
And my infant daughter cried along with me

I enjoy playing the band as the band. I 'be' the whole band and I'm playing the drums, I'm playing the guitar, I'm playing the saxophone. To me, the most wonderful thing about playing music is that.

My Sad Guitar (In Iraq)
When I play...my sad guitar,
With powered chords...of deep emotion.
I strum the strings...with such devotion,
When I play...my...sad...guitar.
When I play...my sad guitar,
In a bunker, built in the sand.
This war torn country, this desert land,
I miss playing...In a rock and roll band.
When I play...my...sad...guitar.
When I play...my sad guitar,
My memories play,
Deep in my mind,
I try to find-
Our... wedding... day!
When I play...my...sad...guitar.
When I play...my sad guitar,
I think of my Harley...My hot-rod car,
Wishing I was home,
With a beer in a bar.
When I play...my...sad...guitar.

Out On The Road
(hicks / lynch)
I wasnt there (I wasnt there)
When I was needed (I wasnt there)
I was out on the road
Playing with my rock and roll band (I wasnt there)
I should have been right by her side
Like a good man ought to be
But this rocknroll music sure gotta hold on me
I wasnt there (I wasnt there)
When my shack was burning (I wasnt there)
I was out on the road playing with my rocknroll band (I wasnt there)
While someone else put out the fire
I was wailing my guitar
Somehow this rocknroll music sure got a hold on me
Somewhere I know, I sold my soul
Sold it to the devil or the king of rocknroll
Once I found out, what the music was all about
Picked up my baggage
And I joined in a big rock show
I knew that I had to go
I wasnt there (I wasnt there)
There for my wedding (I wasnt there)
I was back on the road
Playing with my rock and roll band (I wasnt there)
But when I came off stage that night
I found her waiting patiently, good girl
She knows that rocknroll music sure got a hold
Rocknroll music sure got a hold
She knows that rocknroll music sure got a hold on me

Whiskey Bottle
Well, well, well, oh yeah, mmm.
I'm sitting here in Memphis,
Whiskey bottle in my hand, oh. I got to find a woman,
I'm only on a one-night stand,
I've got to kick away these blues,
Got to get on my rock and roll shoes,
I'm leaving in the morning,
I'm heading for the promised land.
Got to call a number,
A certain woman in town, yeah,
But when I got connected she told me
She was going to settle down, Oh baby, yeah.
I've got to kick away these blues,
Got to get on my rock and roll shoes,
I'm leaving in the morning,
I'm heading for the promised land,
Oh baby; look out over there.
Ever since I've been playing guitar in a band,
Ever since I been to St. Davida's school,
Every time I tried to play my winning hand,
I get a little closer but it's still the same old game.
Ma ma mama, I get a little closer to you baby, Seem like
you're all the same, I get a little closer to you,
still the same old game, Come on baby, I want to take you with me.
I've got to leave the city, I'm headed for the California sun,
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, They say the girls are pretty
And pretty soon I'm going to get me one, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I've got to kick away these blues, Got to get on my
rock and roll shoes, I'm leaving in the morning,
I'm heading for the promised land, Lord knows I am.
Ever since I been playing guitar in a band, Ever since I've been
St. Davida's place, Every time I tried to play my winning hand,
I get a little closer but it's still the same old game

I'm Singing (A Song You Like) :
I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing, I'm singing a song you like..
And if you want me, and need me real bad.
Just call me.
I'm there when you want.
Just call me.
I'm there when you need my love.
I'll give you, the things that you need.
I'll give you, the things that you want.
I'll give you, the love that you need from me..
Because I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing, I'm singing a song you like.
When I give you, the love that you need.
Return, your love to me.
Return, your love to me at once..
Because I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing, I'm singing a song you like.
And when you call me.
Please want me real bad.
I need you.
I need you real bad.
I love you.
I love you for what you are.
I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing and playing guitar.
I'm singing, I'm singing a song you like..

Homeward Bound
I'm sitting in the railway station. Got a ticket to my destination. mmmm
On a tour of one-night stands, my suitcase and guitar in hand.
And every stop is neatly planned for a poet and one-man band.
Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting, Silently for me.
Every day's an endless stream, of cigarettes and magazines. mmmm
And each town looks the same to me, the movies and the factories
And every stranger's face I see reminds me that I long to be,
Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting, Silently for me.
Tonight I'll sing my songs again, I'll play the game and pretend. mmmm
But all my words come back to me in shades of mediocrity
Like emptiness in harmony I need someone to comfort me.
Homeward bound, I wish I was, Homeward bound,
Home where my thought's escaping, Home where my music's playing,
Home where my love lies waiting, Silently for me, Silently for me.

Let There Be Rock
In the beginning
Back in nineteen fifty-five
Man didnt know about a rock n roll show
And all that jive
The white man had the smoltz
The black man had the blues
No one knew what they was gonna do
But tchaikovsky had the news
He said -
Let there be light, and there was light
Let there be sound, and there was sound
Let there be drums, and there was drums
Let there be guitar, and there was guitar
Let there be rock
And it came to pass
That rock n roll was born
All across the land every rockin band
Was blowing up a storm
The guitarman got famous
The businessman got rich
And in every bar there was a super star
With a seven year itch
There were fifteen million fingers
Learning how to play
And you could hear the fingers picking
And this is what they had to say
Let there be light
Sound
Drums
Guitar
Let there be rock
One night in a club called 'the shaking hand
There was a ninety-two decibel rocking band
The music was good and the music was loud
And the singer turned and he said to the crowd -
Let there be rock

Rocking With My Guitar
I'M JUST SITING HERE STRUMMING
WITH MY GUITAR IN HAND
FEELING SO RELAX
WITH EVERY CHORD I TOUCH MAN
AND ROCKING AWAY
FROM WHAT THE GREAT ONES WROTE
BY FOLLOWING EACH MUSIC NOTE
AND PICTURING ME IN THERE BAND
ASK TO DO A SOLO ON MY GUITAR
AND FEELING LIKE A BRIEF SUPER STAR
IF FRONT OF THE CROWD
CHEERING AND JEERING FOR ME
WHEN I JUMP IN THE AIR
WITH MY GUITAR IN HAND
READY TO DO ANOTHER CLASSIC SONG
AND STILL THERE SCREAMING
CLAPPING ALONG
UNTIL I COME BACK TO EARTH
PUTTING MY GUITAR GENTLY IN IT'S STAND
NEXT TO MY READING LIGHT
AND QUIETLY CALL IT A RIGHT

My Wife's Only Rival
I've stood bathed in the limelight,
Standing listening to the screams.
My guitar and I soared to the heights,
Yes I have lived my dreams.
Up on the stage Robert and I,
Drove all the teeny boppers wild.
While she tried to hide from my brown eyes,
So long ago my woman child.
All over we played, reached number one,
When most of you weren't even born.
And then one day it came undone,
And I was broken and forlorn.
The band broke up, I lost a girl,
One that I never could say was mine.
So I went back home to my little world,
Back with my people, my own kind.
My woman child awaited me,
And she took back this guitar man.
Yes I was back where I needed to be,
Away from the limelight and all my fans.
I never went back on the road,
She never let me leave again.
And she took from me my heavy load,
And gave me love to kill the pain.
It's been a long time forty years,
My woman child one rival had.
My son now has her, and I fight back tears,
When I see her framed above his bed.
For my son J.J. the best guitar player I ever made. I love you gordo.

Cause I Love You
Music: Rudolf Schenker
Lyrics: Klaus Meine
My fingers walk all over you
I won't stop before you scream
Cause I love you
Cause I love you
I feel your body on my skin
You're the godess of my dreams
Cause I love you
Cause I love you
You're the sting that's in my flesh
When I am feelin down and low
That's why I love you
That's why I love you
I make you scream I make you cry
With all my heart and soul
That's why I love you
That's why I love you
She's the one who is crying we're flying
She cries bitter tears when I'm blue
She's the one who is screaming I'm dreaming
Tonight I will reach
Out for you...out for you
Totally electric fire
When I hold you in my arm
Cause I love you
Cause I love you
The only true love of my life
You're the owner of my heart
Cause I love you
Yes I love you
She's the one who is crying we're flying
We fly on the way to the stars
She's the one who is screaming I'm dreaming
When I reach you with... My guitar
...My guitar...My guitar...

The Music Comes And Goes
by: Tripp
the soothing sounds of a piano to a guitar the sounds they make
the feeling It brings when the piano sings playing the strings of a guitar
the times come and goes as the music grows
in the heart of those who play
thinking of that one thing that brings epiphany to that instrument you play
as you hold and take care playing with hopes and dreams the music slips through
and sings
i can't get enough of what it does to me
when i hear that sound that voice
the music she brings to my heart when I'm with her
her voice is the epiphany to my heart
holding on to her the music keeps playing
my heart keeps beating as the music plays
i keep dreaming dreaming holding on hoping this song will never end
dreaming to fall in love with this instrument forever
she is my instrument

Blame It On The Love Of Rock & Roll
First time i heard the music
I thought it was my own
I could feel it in my heartbeat
I could feel it in my bones
My momma thinks i'm crazy
My dad says i'm insane
I got this boogie woogie fever
That's burning in my veins
They tried to take me to a doctor
But it's too late for me
Then they took me to a preacher
That they saw on their tv
Who said that for a small donation
My lost soul would be saved
I said i don't think so preacher
I'll come back another day
All i want, is to be a rolling stone
They don't understand what we all know
It feels so good that it ought to be illegal
I got my vaccination from a pornograf needle
I'll never grow up and i'll never grow old
Blame it on the love of rock & roll
My teachers didn't like me they always
Tried to put me down
'cause i wore my hair too long
I played my music way too loud
Every little boy wants to learn to play guitar
So he can pick up all the chicks
And be a rock-n-roll star
They said it won't last, but they misunderstood
If people think it's bad then i'll be bad for good
It feels so good that it ought to be illegal
I got my vaccination from a pornograf needle
I'll never grow up and i'll never grow old
Blame it on the love of rock & roll
Blame it on the love, blame it on the love
Dad don't understand what the little girls know
Blame it on the love of rock-n-roll
All i wanted, all i ever needed
My guitar gave to me
Every song i've sung blame it on love
Every war i've won blame it on love
Everything i've done blame it on love
Blame it on the love of rock-n-roll
It feels so good that it ought to be illegal
I got my vaccination from a pornograf needle
I'll never grow up and i'll never grow old
Blame it on the love of rock & roll
Blame it on the love, blame it on the love
Dad don't understand
What the little girls know
Blame it on the love of rock-n-roll

My Home's In Alabama (Single Edit)
Words and Music by Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry
Drinkin' was forbidden in my Christian country home
I learned to play the flattop on them good ol' Gospel songs
Then I heard about the barrooms just across the Georgia line
Where a boy could make a livin' playin' guitar late at night
Had to learn about the ladies; too young to understand
why the young girls fall in love with the boys in the band
When the boys turn to music, the girls just turn away
to some other guitar picker in some other late night place
Yeah, I held on to my music; I let the ladies walk away
took my songs and dreams to Nashville and then on to L.A.
Up to New York City, all across the USA
I lost so much of me but there's enough of me to say (that my)
Chorus:
..home's in Alabama, no matter where I lay my head
My home's in Alabama, Southern born and Southern bred
What keeps me goin'? I don't really know.
can't be the money the Lord knows I'm always broke
could it be the satisfaction of bein' understood
when the people really love ya and let you know when it's good
Well I'll speak my Southern English just as natural as I please
I'm in the heart of Dixie, Dixie's in the heart of me
and someday when I make it, when love finds a way
somewhere high on Lookout Mountain I'll just smile with pride and say that my

Lady Luck
Theres a woman in new orleans
Said to love me she was born
But that was friday payday
By sunday she was gone
So I drove on down to texas
Where I did not do to well
I fell hard for this woman child
Turn ou she came from...well
Lady luck help me hold on
Lady luck help me hold on
To one that I love
Well I had no luck with women
Thought Id try my hand at cards
So I headed for nevada
Gonna really take them on
But the way the hands were fallin
And the way the money goes
You could say its getting colder
You could say I nearly froze
Lady luck help me hold on
Lady luck help me hold on
To one that I love
So I started playing guitar
In a southern boogie band
And the ladies I was meeting
Make you want to buy the farm
Gettin tired of saving souvenirs
Dont remind me where theyre from
And the nights come on like magic
In the morning its all gone
Lady luck help me hold on
Lady luck help me hold on
To one that I love
Lady luck help me hold on
To one that I love
Lady luck help me hold on
Lady luck help me hold on
To one that I love
Lady luck help me hold on
Lady luck help me hold on

Ungramatically, right..!
I have a guitar
It asks me questions...
Replies my doubts...
At times generate novel music...
Without me playing, very noble.!
Many a times I thought
To enter the inner of that...!
As I entered it....
To know its wonders...,
Wonders of its everything...
Kid I became...
For my guitar..! ,
Because of entering its inner beauty..
I was cared as inside of my mom!
And became sacred too...!
Because I dont know anything...
Other than my presence in its kling..!
I am not fully fit to describe about the guitar....
Guitar...my mom...!
Because its my world...my universe..!
To the people it may seem as I am creating music
From the inside and outside by tricks..!
But ultimately....
The guitar only has created me...!
I am the guitar's kid! !
Stars In His Eyes
Teen wearing cool shades while he waits,
waits at to learn electric guitar to be great.
Be a great guitar player with 'Stars in his Eyes'
his guitar glows on stage late at night.
Teen waiting at Marathon Guitar Center store,
learning guitar from Rich,
to be better than before.
I told teen as I went out the door.
'You are in inspiration to me, '
as we both held on to our guitars,
'You will one day be a great rock star'.
Teen smiled and then Rich added,
'He will give you tickets to the front row-
to his sold out 'Rock Guitar Show'.
Teen smiled to Rich's reply,
I knew this teen could reach for the skies,
and be the 'Guitar Player with Stars in his Eyes.'

Younger Girls
Words and music by robin zander and rick nielsen
Try to bend me, try to shake me
Try and turn my head around
Oh try to change me, rearrange me
I think you know about the boy you found
A fantasy like this is hit and run
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
I had a dream about girls like you
You said call us, you'll get two
One for your money, two for the show
I'll give you something more
I know,i know,i know,i know
It's hard enough to make you wanna cry
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
It's hard enough to make you wanna cry
And it drives me out of my mind
I'm in love with you, baby
My poor innocent baby
Don't you say maybe
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Feels so good, let me in
I might jump right out of my skin
Don't you ever grow up little girl
Sweet young thing, not so innocent
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls
Younger girls
Oh how i love those younger girls

My Guitar And A Penutbutter Jar
I sit and play my guitar all day
as my fingers lay on the strings so tight
strumming it lightly
make sounds of pain
my fingers are bleeding but i dont care
the pain i feel inside is much stronger
why am i still alive?
can i take this any longer?
his voice tells me to keep playing on
my hearts want to die after my last song
i reach for the jar of penutbutter
they say there is happyness at the bottom
but they lie
the only thing i have left
is my guitar and an empty penutbutter jar
scrapping at the bottom as it keeps me busy
my hearts are screaming PICK UP THE BLADE! !
dont put it down because its the only happeness you will ever know
its hard to stop some times i give in and do it
the blood flowing from my wrist to my guitar
my tears mixing in
so maybe there is hapyness in
my self mutilation, my guitar
and at the end of an empty penutbutter jar

Playing my little guytar
Playing my little guitar
A new song I start to write
The rhymes come so fast
In the space, the imagination fly
Playing my little guitar
The rhymes become funny to eyes
I start to wish something different
Becoming true the others lies
So the birds start to dance in the floor
And the fishes to fly in the sky
Everything is becoming funny
So, I forget my little guitar, why?
So let it go, let it invent
The world is so beautiful, you don't need to pretend
The tears become a smile
The hate becomes funny for a while
And everything becomes true the imagination
Playing my little guitar
Letting fly my little heart
To something that always you can keep.
