Let us be like rivers, Love
The Table shall never meet the Fuji again
Let us be like rivers, Love
Great rivers, not mountains!
On their epic journey to grace
The Land of the gods with much needed hope
Where an arid desert is the ‘mirror of heaven’
Great rivers run from a Great Lake
Ignorant of borders, boundaries or nationalities
They run
But no matter how long or how apart they grow
Great rivers are sure to become one sometime
At the edge of some distant sea

The Great Divide
(michael p. heeney, jackson leap)
Well I could swear
This king size bed
Keeps getting wider
And I could swear
A strangers laying by my side
And I can swear a long dark valley lies between us
And there aint no way to cross the great divide
Chorus:
The great divide
Aint in colorado
Its the distance that weve somehow grown apart
The great divide
Oh that rivers sorrow
We cant rebuild
The bridge we burned
Between our hearts
And lord knows we both tried hard
At crossing rivers
But pride runs as deep
As it is wide
And the love that once could conquer any mountain
Has reached the edge of the great divide
Repeat chorus
The great divide
Aint in colorado

Mountain Peak
We came together on the highest mountain on this earth.
As years went by we separated into rivers
from the tears this mountain cried.
We all fell into different rivers flowing though
forests, rocks, and waterfalls.
No matter what season we came across
we continued flowing.
We are rivers that started in the mountains,
and rivers that separated as we went through
many waterfalls.
Sometimes we travel together,
and other times we travel alone.
Always remember that these same rivers
that travel many miles through the earth
are once again together when it reaches its final destination
the “Ocean”
So, rivers that started up high in the mountains
and then separated are united
again as a family.

There are three bad neighbours: great rivers, great lords, and great roads.
Many Rivers To Cross
Theres so many rivers to cross
But I cant seem to find my way over
Wandering, Im lost
As I travel along the white cliffs of dover
Many rivers to cross
And its only my will that keeps me alive.
Ive been hurt, washed up for years
But I mearly survive because of my pride
And this loneliness wont leave me alone,
Its such a drag to be on your own
My baby left, and she wouldnt say why,
Now all I do is cry...
Ive got many rivers to cross
And its only my will that keeps me alive
Ive got so many rivers to cross,
Oh, so many rivers to cross...

Till The Rivers Run Dry
You ask how long Ill love you
Its hard to explain but Ill try
Tell me how long has the sun been shining
Above us in the sky?
Till the last day of forever,
If I have it my way well stay together
Till the rivers run dry Ill be loving you.
Till the mountains have crumbled
Ill always be true
And if for some reason you say goodbye
Ask me how long I would cry
Till all the rivers run dry
This path that were walking
May be rough and rocky sometimes
But well believe in one another
Whatever we find
And when you need a hand to guide you
I will be there walking beside you
Till the rivers run dry

The Reichenbach Fall - A Sherlock Holmes Poem
Together they fell
Through the dark abyss
Of heaven and hell
Rivers of red
Rivers of blue
It was a great fall
I'm telling you
Tears of loss
Tears of sorrow
It made one man
Completely hollow
The Spider weaved his web
of hate and gore
And the Reichenbach hero
Was a hero no more

Railroads And Riverboats
The railroads, and the riverboats, that bred the mighty man
That we read about, and we dream about
The men who built this land
And the farmers and the lumbermen and the men who worked the mills
And the poor hard working miners
Who died inside the hills
While the rivers that flow
Are the blood of our land
And the trucks they keep rumbling
On the great concrete band
And the railroads keep pushing
To be all they once were
And nature is calling
No one's listening to her
And the immigrants, by the boat load, in a dozen different tones
Sang of freedom, in the new land
Climbed the ladder rung by rung
Some to Boston, some to Pittsburg, Philidelphia and St. Paul
And the old ways, led to new days
They were welcome one and all.
While the rivers that flow
Are the blood of our land
And the trucks they keep rumbling
On the great concrete band
And the railroads keep pushing
To be all they once were
And nature is calling
No one's listening to her
With the railroads, and the riverboats, and the bread lines far behind
And the days we sang together
Long gone but still in mind
And the men who, came before us, men who brought us to today
And the story, still unravels, from the dreams of yesterday
While the rivers that flow
Are the blood of our land
And the trucks they keep rumbling
On the great concrete band
And the railroads keep pushing
To be all they once were
And nature is calling
No one's listening to her
And nature is calling,
No one's listening to her

The Negro Speaks Of Rivers
I've known rivers:
I've known rivers ancient as the world and older than the
flow of human blood in human veins.
My soul has grown deep like the rivers.
I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young.
I built my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississippi when Abe Lincoln
went down to New Orleans, and I've seen its muddy
bosom turn all golden in the sunset.
I've known rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.
My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

There And Back Again For Jt Ellison
The river flows unhurriedly
on its long journey to the sea
Sometimes flows fast and sometimes slow.
It does not matter really though
.
All rivers will eventually
become part of the great salt sea.
From whence they came as clouds and rain
to which they must return again
The sea and Sun co operate.
Evaporate, precipitate
Recycling water constantly.
All rivers flow into the sea.
Where they evaporate and rise
as water vapour to the skies.
The chill will change its state again
from water vapour into rain.
Which falls upon the earth below
to nourish all the plants that grow
Without the rain then there would be
no rivers flowing to the sea.
The world be a desert place
of growing plants no single trace.
A world of grey and brown and dun
Defeated by the burning sun.
Although the rain can be a curse
no rain at all would be much worse.
Accepting philosophically
the rain must fall and frequently.
Though sometimes inconveniently
Without the rain where would be
Extinct I think without a doubt
I much prefer the rain to drought.
Though it may rain on your parade
and spoil the plans which you have made.
You should be thankful for the rain,
you have small reason to complain.
Nature recycles constantly.
water the prime necessity.
If she did not then we would die
Beneath a blue and cloudless sky.

Back To The River Of Beli
The rivers of belief
(curly m.c./david fairstein)
Take me back to the rivers of belief
Take me back to the rivers of belief
My friend
I look inside my heart
I look inside my soul
I promise you
I will return
And when the lamb opened the seventh seal
Silence covered the sky
Take me back to the rivers of belief
Take me back to the rivers of belief
My friend
I look inside my heart
I look inside my soul
Im reaching out for you
Lets hope one day
Well rest in peace
On my rivers of belief

Oga
You've turned over me and the will not help you,
For i do live by the rivers of love;
And, you really know that.
Oga, i am the lady of the rivers;
But you've denied your previous responsibilities!
And these rivers flow like the muse of my love.

The Great Goddess Of Nature
The great Goddess of Nature is the one true God for me
I feel i sense her presence in every bush and tree
You may dismiss me as an atheist since to your God i do not pray
But what you think of me is your own business and with me that seems okay
The mother of the Seasons Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring
The great Goddess of Nature her praises i must sing
The great Goddess of Nature is around us everywhere
The foods of her creations with all of us she share
We buy and sell her produce and the land we claim we own
Of the great Goddess of Nature the only God I've known
Her sky, rivers, lands and oceans we see fit to pollute
But what we do to her to our own selves we do that only seems the truth
The great Goddess of Nature she is all around me
And everywhere i turn to look her beauty i can see.

Forget
Forget the suffering
You caused others.
Forget the suffering
Others caused you.
The waters run and run,
Springs sparkle and are done,
You walk the earth you are forgetting.
Sometimes you hear a distant refrain.
What does it mean, you ask, who is singing?
A childlike sun grows warm.
A grandson and a great-grandson are born.
You are led by the hand once again.
The names of the rivers remain with you.
How endless those rivers seem!
Your fields lie fallow,
The city towers are not as they were.
You stand at the threshold mute.

Mountains, Canyons, and Rivers
Mountains, canyons, and rivers.
In the material and abstract they're nature.
We never were receivers, nor givers.
We were never indecisive, nor were we sure.
Mountains, tall and grand,
Might one see it as an obstacle?
On the other side lies a land,
In abstract and material, is much like a miracle.
Canyons, deep and daunting,
Might one see it as a rift?
Separated from one so loved, you stand staring.
Stand upright from where you lie; I'll give you a lift.
Rivers, soothing in a mellifluous flow,
Might one see it as their life?
By dawn and dusk you row,
Through a flow devoid of strife.
Mountains, canyons, and rivers.
We've seen them as ourselves.
And through realization in form of shivers,
We see sentience in us that delves.

If I Should Fall From Grace With God
If I should fall from grace with god
Where no doctor can relieve me
If Im buried neath the sod
But the angels wont receive me
Let me go, boys
Let me go, boys
Let me go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry
This land was always ours
Was the proud land of our fathers
It belongs to us and them
Not to any of the others
Let them go, boys
Let them go, boys
Let them go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry
Bury me at sea
Where no murdered ghost can haunt me
If I rock upon the waves
Then no corpse can lie upon me
Its coming up three, boys
Keeps coming up three, boys
Let them go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry
If I should fall from grace with god
Where no doctor can relieve me
If Im buried neath the sod
But the angels wont receive me
Let me go, boys
Let me go, boys
Let me go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry
