Larger World
The tapping of metal to plastic balls
Tells me he’s out practicing his golf
Swings and strokes;
Seems he’s completely stoked over
The re-discovery of an old love.
The clickety-click of my keys tells him
I am renewing an old love of my own;
Writing poetry, visiting hidden worlds
Inside my office computer; attending to
Neglected interests from younger days.
In pursuit of old loves,
Like an artist applies paint to canvas
And creates new landscapes,
Our world is suddenly
Becoming larger.

The Canvas
Oh how she loves her canvas,
The stories that it tells.
Oh how she loves to paint her thoughts,
And etch a perfect spell.
Oh how she loves her canvas,
The memories that it holds.
Oh how she loves to trace the lines,
And tell if new or old.
Oh how she loves her canvas,
Her stability in an unstable world.
Oh how she loves to fret away,
At all of her unfurled.
Oh how she loves her canvas,
A standstill of art and truth.
Oh how she loves the feel of it,
To reminisce her youth.
Oh how she loves her canvas,
A long work of her life.
Oh how she loves the twisted colors,
Splashes of red upon white.
Oh how she loves her canvas,
She crafts each inch with care.
She hides her canvas well away,
Though she often earns a stare.
Do not tell of her canvas,
Keep the secret- she insists.
But perhaps some time take a second glance,
For her canvas is her wrist.

Fingers
I see your fingers
touching tenderly,
reaching out in love
and with great care
plucking at strings and chords
strumming with great skill
and sometimes setting fire
to a tune on your guitar
floating over the piano keys
touching here and there
like a butterfly drifting in the air
tapping keys on the computer keyboard
writing poetry, sometimes songs
singing them along
brushing strokes on a canvass or board
mixing colours to the exact hue
painting images from your head
spreading emotions from the depth of you
magically giving life
dancing along with a rhythm of their own.

I Love My Computer
I love my computer you make me feel alright
Every waking hour and every lonely night
I love my computer for all you give to me
Predictable errors and no identity
And it's never been quite so easy
I've never been quite so happy
(Chorus)
All I need to do is click on you and we'll be joined in the most soul-less way
And we'll never ever ruin each other's day 'cuz when I'm through I just click
And you just go away
I love my computer you're always in the mood
I get turned on when I turn on you
I love my computer you never ask for more
You can be a princess or you can be my whore
And it's never been quite so easy
I've never been quite so happy
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
The world outside is so big but it's safe in my domain
Because to you I'm just a number and a clever screen name
All I need to do is click on you and we'll be together for eternity
And no one is ever gonna take my love from me because I've got security

Every Face Tells A Story
Look at the man in the corner, hes sitting all alone
His blankets are made out of cardboard,
His pillows are made out of stone
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
See the man walking on the water, see the light in his eyes
He came into the world with a message to tell,
He came into the world to die
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Youre always telling stories, youre always telling me lies
Youre always telling stories, why?
So think of yourself in the water, seeing your days flashing by
Its too late to see what you wanted to be,
Youve spent all your time, you must die
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Step down
And make it work out right
Im trying to get to you with my warning
Been there
For nearly half the night
Look its nearly four in the morning

Demon voice
he tells me to fight not to walk away
he tells me to scream not to talk rational
he tells me to hate not to forgive
he tells me destroy not to create
he tells me to give in
he tells me to kill
he knows i'm getting weaker
he knows it's almost his time
he knows he will be free
he knows he will have fun
he knows it will be a bloody ride to the end
he knows the end is death and so do i

Emotions
i am feeling empty inside
maybe! it's because the feelings that i hide?
at times it's a feeling of loneliness
and at times, it's loves and desires hidden away.
but with all this i have to say.
i will never change the sensations
of feeling different emotions.
love, joy, sadness, bitterness, sorrow, anxieties, and stress.
but closeness is the one i love the best.
to be close and to be inspired, is my lifelong desire.
to have someone to hug you and to tell
you that everything is going to be alright.
and that someone is there, when you're down and out
that is what emotions is all about.
i found love and it was bursting to be free
a love, so deeply hidden inside of me.
i saw the love in someone elses eyes
feelings and emotions that they could not hide.
i felt their exhileration, and each and every sensation.
i felt the pains that a heart must go through
to bring all feelings closer to you.
the heart and the mind work hand in hand
but it is the soul that makes the plan.
(is it the mind that tells the heart what is love, what is pain.
what is sorrow? or is it the heart that tells the mind these things?)
the soul is the one that instills all these things into us
and this is what we have to trust.
emotions is lifes key
it could make you a slave, or set you free.

The Time Of Poetry Has Come
THE TIME OF POETRY HAS COME
The time of Poetry has come
I feel it within myself
Somehow waiting to be said
Worlds are hidden
And feel ready to come into being-
The time of Poetry is here
And I am writing now easily
Yet somehow within the poetry
And beyond it
Is something that needs to be said
Which my poetry now cannot say-
The Poetry the real Poetry
May be within me
And yet beyond myself
So that what I am writing now
Is not it,
But only an excuse for mentioning that
It can never really be mine.

My Younger Self and My Older Self
My younger self, ego,
Tells me that I can be happy
By being separated from the oneness-soul.
My larger self, oneness universal
Tells me that there is no such thing
As ego-separativity.
It is all oneness-song,
Oneness-perfection,
Oneness-reality.
I and my older self together shall stay,
Together shall sing,
Together shall dance.

All is Full of Love
All is Full of Love
Nothing left but each other,
Plastic and metal.
No one here to say hello,
No one to tell us what we need to know.
Oh so lonely,
So secluded.
With only the love for each other,
Wires and bolts,
They have gone,
Left us alone
Only you and me,
And the machines that make us.
Oh so many of us,
Made like each other,
No differences,
Nothing unique.
All is full of love.
Yet nothing remains to be loved.
Oh all is full of love,
With nothing left but each other,
We are forgotten,
But we have each other,
Metal and plastic,
All is full of love.
Yet they are alone,
In the arms of each other,
Their tears running together,
All if full of love,
Alone in the world,
Wires and bolts,
All is full of love,
Together they move through life,
No one to show them what to think,
Show them truth,
Plastic and metal,
All is full of love,
With no one but each other to share it with,
The same as each other,
Yet still they are together,
All is full of love.

Wrapped Up In You
How do I love you
Well let me see
I love you like a lyric loves a melody
Baby, completely,
Wrapped up in you
How do I need you
Cant you tell
I need you like a penny needs a wishing well
Baby, completlely
Wrapped up in you
Every now and then
When the world that where living ins- crazy
You gladly hold me, and carry me through
No one in the worlds ever done what you do for me
And Id be
Sad and lonley
If there were no you...
How do I love you
Well count the ways
There aint no number high enough
To end this phrase
Baby, completely
Wrapped up in you
Baa baa ba ba ba ba baa baa baa
Ba ba ba baa ba
Baa baa ba ba ba ba baa baa baa
Ba ba ba baa ba
Every now and then
When the world that where living ins, crazy
You gladly hold me, and carry me through
No one in the worlds ever done what you do for me
And Id be
Sad and lonley
If there were no you...
How do I love you
Well dont you know
I love you bout as deep as any love can go
Baby, completely
Wrapped up in you
Baby, completely
Wrapped up in you

My Darling Is An Artist
My darling is an artist
who saves pictures, her impressions on a canvas
and sometimes deep things
are expressed by her mere words,
as she paints the sea green,
at times mother-of-pearl
or a dull blue
and I wonder how she does it?
With a brush she can warble
can charm and adorn things,
she can bring bewitching colours suddenly
to the early breaking day.
l'Envoi
My darling is an artist,
sometimes she muddles my whole life,
when her lips are sugary sweet
and she tells me the plain truth plainly.

Empty
Can this be my poem?—this poor fragment
Of bald thought in meanest language dressed!
Can this string of rhymes be my sweet poem?
All its poetry wholly unexpressed!
Does it tell me of the dreams that wandered,
In the silent night-time, through my brain?
Of the woven web of wondrous fancies,
Half of keenest joy and half of pain?
Does it tell me of the awful beauty
That came down to hide this sordid earth?
Does it tell me of the inward crying?—
Of the glory whence it had its birth?
Only as the lamp, all dull and rusted,
Tells me of the flame that is put out,—
Of the shiny hair and happy faces
Lighted, when its radiance streamed about?
Only as this piece of glass, now lying
In the shade beside me, as I sit,
Tells me of the soft hues of the rainbow,
That the morning sunshine gave to it!
Only as this little flask, now smelling
Of the dust and mould with which 'tis lined,
Tells me of the lovely subtle fragrance
Of the perfume that it once enshrined!
Only as a picture, blurred and faded,
Tells me of the bloom of colour there,
When the painter's soul was with his canvas,
And his paint was bright, and fresh, and fair!
Only as the wires and keys—notes broken,
Odd and scattered—tell me of a strain
That once filled my very soul with rapture,
But can never be spelled out again!
Only as a bare brown flower-stalk tells me
Of the delicate blossom that it wore;
Of the humming bees in silken petals,
And the downy butterflies it bore!
Only as a crazy boat, sun-blistered,
Drawn up high and dry upon the sands,
Tells me of the blue and buoyant billows
Bearing breezy sails to foreign lands!
Only as a little dead lark, lying
With bedraggled wings and withered throat,
Tells me of the songs it heard in heaven—
Trying to teach me, here and there, a note!
Oh no! oh no! this is not my treasure—
This is but the shell where it has lain;
It is gone—the life, and light, and glory,—
And 'twill never come to me again!

The Real Thing
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
She is waiting
In the office
For the bell to go
She is thinking
Of their meeting
Just a month ago
Now shes running
Through the people
Everyone so slow
Now he holds her
And he loves her
He tells her so and
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
By the nightfall
They have driven
From the world they know
Shes so happy
Theyre together
And their love will grow
And when you feel your chance has come
Whos going to throw it all away
And if theres someone left behind
You have to say that
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la
La love
La la la
Love is the real thing
You know
Love is the real thing
La la la la

He Is Poor
she picks her
from mud
he tells her
he loves her
and she believes him
and dresses and feeds him
and he tells her more that
he loves her truly and that
he will love her forever
he needs her
that is nearer to the truth
and she is the most hopeless romantic in town
and thirsty for love
many years back when she had an attempt
of taking her life
she is still suicidal
he loves ease and comfort
that is nearer to the truth
and she knows that well too,
he loves another but she loves him more than that
she keeps what she knows
he hides what he can
and they live in one house
and sleep in one bed and dream
and learn to survive
in this kind of situation
loving and pretending
and keeping that matter within themselves
for how many years
since then?
12 years and there will be more
time passing by
like a stranger fitting
his night in a motel
that is the truth, and they
do not mind it anymore
'who cares? ' their theme.

Party Of Two
I am learning to live
With another voice
Chattering through my
Creative thoughts;
Other sounds in the house.
Busy shoes that clickety click
Up and down the hallways;
Go in and out of doors.
I am learning to live
With a snacker;
A retired fast tracker while he
Learns how to play golf and the guitar;
How to paint.
My heart’s singular complaint...
It yearns to drink heartily again
Of the solitude it once knew.
But all things come to pass;
This too shall fade into my past
And I will learn
All over again
How to be a party of two.

My Love Tells Me So
Performed by crush
You dont have to cry when I say good-bye, good-bye
You know Ill be coming back real soon
And when I do, you know
It will be such a sweet hello
Rising like the sun above the sky line, sky line
Love is brighter than ever before
And that should be understood
When is said I do you knew I would
Some things can be good forever
My love tells me so
Two hearts can be one together
My love tells me so
Let me lay your head upon my pillow, baby
Whisper what you need to me, my dear (my dear)
Dont worry, close your eyes
Morning will find me by your side
Some things can be good forever
My love tells me so
Two hearts can be one together
My love tells me so
(whispered)
Give me a chance and Ill sing for you
I have a song for you
To be with you is a dream
I dream of you
Some things can be good forever
My love tells me so

Life and Art
For the artist, Joanne Cooper, on the occasion of her eightieth birthday
With keen eye and skillful hands
You take the light of other days
And produce lush landscapes for your fans
Much like a playwright crafting plays.
You start with canvas white and clean
So like the snows we’ve lately seen
And with bold strokes make form and line-
Virtual playgrounds for the mind.
With age comes wisdom to impart
Suffused with light, these stand apart:
Common place made special art.
The gracious gift of a gentle heart.

As An Artist
As an artist,
I carefully paint
a picture on my
canvas
with each stroke
I wipe away a tear
causing a smile to
reappear
As an artist
I endow your face
with my brush
making it more
perfect as I go
until at last the
image of my love
I see.

I love him
They say we are too young,
They think we are dumb,
They feel we are lying,
They tell us to wait,
They bealive we arny ready,
They must not believe in their heart.
I believe in my heart,
My heart dosent think, it speaks,
My heart dosent lie, it tell the truth
My heart dosent think, it speaks,
My heart dosent wait, it goes straight for the prize,
And my heart is not to young to love,
I will follow my heart,
It tells me I love him,
It tells me I need him,
It tells me I want him back,
It tells me it is broken because of him,
It tells me I LOVE him
