It Is Sad
- It is sad when the cloud form but failed to rain.
- It is sad when you feel hungry and the mouth refuses
to eat.
- It is sad when you smile and the face continues to
frown.
- It is sad when you weep and tears refuses to flow.
- It is sad when you cut and the knife refuses to tear.
- It is sad when the child is more patient than the father.
- It is sad when false is the right answer and true is the
wrong option.
Ponder This now and act later, yesterday comes, today is
going, let tomorrow rest!

Broken child
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has seen more than his young eyes should.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who would run away from it all if he could.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who has been ravished by the likes of you and I.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child with to much pride to cry.
I see the face off a broken child.
a child who fights off anyone who cares.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wishes his mother was there.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who wont let his hardships keep him down.
I see the face of a broken child.
A child who refuses to give up and reveal a frown.

Today I Stared Love At Her Face
Today I stared love at her face
Its hard to say in what condition I found her in
Two lovers at their worst embrace
Ignorantly blissful
Hidden away was the word beautiful
Today I stared love at her face
upon loves face I saw a tear
her vibrant smile refuses to appear
in the concrete jungle meandering
from lover quarrels is her suffering
today I stared love at her face
and love sometime is to walk away
I closed my eyes to feel a minute pass
Reminded me of the words that nothing last

The Earth Is My Witness
Mother earth look at her closely
she looks at her baby and she sighs
the slight breathing pause that she takes it builds her and
makes her strong
She refuses to give her up
and we close our eyes
Her hands touch the round stomach
and feel the kick
The eyes that have seen so much cry
with the water she starts to rinse her face
And refuses to give her up
And we close our eyes
And you close your eyes

An Old Barn By The Side Of The Fields Of Hay
an old barn by the side of the fields of hay
is nothing but an old barn to your eyes
miguelito
this barn has been here ten years ago and it will be here
for another more years with you
father always
had it repaired before he died and when i take charge
i still come here and think once in a while
what is in this barn
that refuses to be broken
something that negates
the art of losing
it is the memory of my youth
it was here where the hay smelt pungent
for the first time
it was here when i was first
deflowered
changed
don't laugh, it was here that i felt
the first squirt of
my manhood, and her name was not that important
in fact,
she was laughing because i was trembling and she was
so crazy
trying to really teach me, in this old barn that refuses to be broken
in all the years
when our father teased us: weaklings.

Cobwebs in My Mind
You can lead a horse to water,
but you cannot make it drink.
I lead my pen to paper,
but it refuses to write.
My pen is not empty,
but I feel my imagination is
and I wonder if
I have run out of steam.
The world is filled with wondrous things
that my minded refuses to think about.
Once upon a time
my imagination gushed from my pen,
now it’s only a trickle
and only now and then.
I sit here at my desk
and look out the window
at the wind blowing the trees.
Maybe if I stood outside
it might blow away
the cobwebs in my mind.

SUPpRESSED DESIRES
Her only home is herself
her only contact to her body
her hands
untouched by man who want
to sleep with her in the nest
of desire,
she refuses all offers
regardless of color and shape
deep within her
pressure is building
like a tornado
but she keeps herself
composed like a placid lake
like an undisturbed sky
glittering with the beauty of
the stars
a volcano is erupting inside
her breasts
she refuses hands and lips
and mouths
her house is herself
abandoned by the sun
and the rain
she is alone and too lovely
still
the moon tonight by her
open window shall be her lover
she is after all a metaphor
of suppressed desires.

Mother Once Said...
My mother once said
'Don`t open your mouth before
Elders and those with white hairs'.
My mother also said
'Don`t speak unless asked'.
My mouth asked me once,
'What is my role in your life? '
I said, 'My mother has said nothing about it'.
I added, 'You swallow and eat'.
My mouth has been quiet since.
My friends said, 'Your mother is wise'.
My father said, 'She is my strength'.
I wondered how she could be so great!
Then was born my kid brother with a big mouth.
My mother said to my kid brother too
Not to do those old things
But his mouth spoke everything
Everything that I never dared.
And his mouth swallowed, ate and spoke.
Today my mother is no more
And my father is is weak and worn out.
I still remember my mother`s words.
While my kid brother speaks out his mind
My mouth refuses to speak out its regrets....

The First And Last Time
Since we first met, I can’t seem to forget you
You mesmerize me with your beautiful face
There are not enough words to describe
How perfect you are
It’s like you’re my guardian angel
I felt your presence when I needed someone to comfort me
I felt your existence in the weakest moments of my life
I felt your support in every little things I’ve done
And every time you look at me
I’ve felt that you could see right through me
I’ve feel that you could see all that I have been through
All the happiness, sadness, misery, and accomplishment in my life
And I’m glad that I have a chance to know you
Even in just a short time
So now I must wake up in this beautiful dream
But still my heart refuses to let go
And now I must face the facts that we cannot be together
But still my heart refuses to give up
And I just want you to know what I feel for you
Even though you just see me as a friend
Don’t worry about me, I will not be sad
Instead I will cherish the moments were together
I just want you to be happy even if it means giving up my love for you
And I want you to know that I am always her for you as your friend.

Affirmations(2002-2004)
Today, I will get up before my alarm
Today, I won't close my eyes until dusk
Today, I will not get a speeding ticket
Today, I will count this day as a first
Today, I will enjoy the life that has been left to me
Today, I won't frown over the may-have-beens
Today, I won't cry over the should-have-beens
Today, I won't wonder about the could-have-beens
Today, I'll smile.......Today, I'll Laugh.... Today, I'll relax
Today, I won't feel alone because I don't see you
Today, I'll find something new that wasn't true of you
Today, I won't be afraid to look upon a new face
Today, I'll step up and take my place
Today, I won't think about what I've lost
Today, I'll look forward instead of behind
Today, I'll find some piece of mind
Today, I'll hope.... Today, I'll pray... Today, I'll believe
Today, I'll dream as if I always did
Today, I'll wish on a star the way I used to
Today, I'll reach for the heavens and sigh
Today, My heart will start to heal
Today, the biggest miracle is ME.
Today, Yesterday's problems ceased to be
Today, the rain has stopped and the sun has returned
Today, the breath of kindness is found in words
Today, I wonder.... Today, I am a child.

There Is Something Within Us That Refuses Change
So many lifetimes I have lived,
Among some who have just lived one.
Experiences I have had a plenty.
And many I observe have had few,
Or perhaps none from their point of view.
It is difficult to dismiss those trials and tribulations.
And the obstacles that come with growth...
Which are purposely set on one's path to take notice.
So many lifetimes I have lived,
Among some who have just lived one.
Experiences I have had a plenty.
And many I observe have had few,
Or perhaps none from their point of view.
And those making attempts to grasp onto the past,
Are not so eager to let go from that which has detached.
Like the gifts of seasons that come to give, bestow and leave...
There is something within us that refuses change that comes drastically.
Although being a part of 'nature' has not identified that as reality.
It is difficult to dismiss those trials and tribulations.
And the obstacles that come with growth...
Which are purposely set on one's path to take notice.
There is something within us that refuses change.
Although change is all we know.
There is something within us that refuses change.
Although change is all we know.
There is something within us that refuses change.
Although change is all we know.
Change is...
All we know!

The Lovely Medic
i am not
drowning
she applies
mouth to mouth
resuscitation
i am not
dying
i have much air
in my lungs
but i am not the
kind of person
that refuses
a nice
offer
so here we go
again
mouth to mouth.

Through loyalty to the past, our mind refuses to realize that tomorrow's joy is possible only if today's makes way for it; that each wave owes the beauty of its line only to the withdrawal of the preceding one.

Roads That Cross
There are roads that cross,
From which one picks to choose.
Hoping to make a correct decision,
To select the best...
Is very difficult to do.
And one does what is thought to be right,
With faith to pray.
And one does what is hoped,
Will not cause confusion...
The rest of one's life to pay.
Yet...
Are there any roads paved with gold,
Cleared of clouds or thunder?
Are there any free of obstacles,
With no sign of pouring rain.
And...
Is there much to gain,
If one refuses to choose?
Are there any roads paved with gold,
Cleared of clouds or roaring thunder?
Are there any free of obstacles,
With no sign of feeling pain?
And...
Is there much to gain,
If one refuses to choose?
Is there any other way,
To live...
With a doing done to do.

Today - the Yesterday of Tomorrow
today is the yesterday
of tomorrow
today is also the tomorrow
of yesterday
yesterday was the today
of the then tomorrow
tomorrow which is the now today
is the tomorrow of yesterday
what is yesterday's yesterday?
what is the today of today?
what will be the tomorrow of tomorrow?
yesterday made today
today is creating tomorrow
the now today will be the
yesterday of the incoming tomorrow
and that tomorrow will become today
but tomorrow is yet unknown
for there is no today without yesterday
and no yesterday without today
but tomorrow will be unknown

My Father Departed
My father breathed his last on April 7,2012
He was well beyond fair old age but
He had ever dreamt of living further.
He lived like an overgrown child
And an unschooled rustic gentleman.
He could have lived a little more.
My father was a tyrant, an octogenarian of all odds.
He was more of voice and less of size, he was 86.
He is not any more there.
He loved us less in terms of what the world thinks,
He rather owned us in terms of what we children feel.
He has left a world of his possessions!
But he wasn`t again married despite losing
His wife when was barely 44 yrs young.
I still feel he was great that way and I salute him.
But the pain in my heart is stubborn
And it refuses to leave me for just one reason -
Why do I not feel missing my father?
You may just tell me why it is a cold finding
That I did not weep when my father died…
Even after weeks together I feel sorry.
As he was seen lying within the small depth of the coffin-a freezer and later
As the flames of the pyre licked away that frame of many bones and shrunk frozen flesh,
I remained with a feeling writ large on the heart unknown to myself.
A few days of hectic rites and isolation followed.
The rites were performed and the remains were immersed in the dying river Perar
But I didn`t weep… sorry, I must have wept - my daughter said later.
She thinks I might not have loved him much or vice versa it is…
The kids are so… let her keep her tears in stock
And weep enough when I am gone perhaps
Sorry, he is a cold leveler.
But the fact is strangely different.
I have forgotten to weep…
These days I don`t weep at all.
With my mother gone when I was barely four
And now with my father following the suit
I know I am an orphan indeed.
But my wife and daughter say - never say such things.
It is what the world around us has to be..
One with freaks of love and care.
When I think about my father,
I look for and find a small star in the sky,
If it twinkles well, I feel he is smiling at me
And I don`t mind being near it later, much later.

My Depression
Yesterday I made you upset
Today I feel so ungrateful
Tomorrow I'll say I'm sorry
Yesterday I was alone
Today I analyse why
Tomorrow I'll try and forget
Yesterday I said nasty things
Today I cant remember a word
Tomorrow I'll make it up to you
Yesterday I had no energy
Today I'm told I'm lazy
Tomorrow I need to search for motivation
Yesterday I said goodbye
Today I walked out of your life
Tomorrow I'll just have happy memories

Getting Away From A Responsibility
a child open his arms in Asilo
asking if i can be his father,
without answering him in words
my arms hug him in return
i lift him from the ground and
feel his heart beating unto mine
there is a connection between
two hearts in that thick line of emptiness
between two kinds of loneliness
a child understands it well i think
i didn't
in my age where my hair refuses to
be white
or gray
i am given more options like an ocean
where i am but a very small ship
the child has none
he can only be a bird without wings
drowning at sea
he sleeps and i give him back to the
penguin
oh, i have more places in my heart
less any child
i am a man with so many homes
wanting to be a vagabond again

Deja Vu
i meet a face today
and it cannot look at me
straight in the eye
and i look at it with scrutiny
asking why
it is dark and i have seen that very same face again
and again
waiting for me
it is the very same face of darkness
that used to stare at me
from the very first day that i cried
now for pity
it refuses to make a glance
time which has been in an ambush position
lurking in the darkest corner of my life
murmurs some words to itself
sounding like a train
stopping
tomorrow, it says for the last time
is the perfect time to go
one bright morning when the flowers start to bloom
the least you expect
and you do not have the chance of saying...i have always loved you
you shall be blown away like some other leaf
so ordinary so cheap

I have a brother
I have a brother
Perhaps from the same mother
Perhaps from the same father
Sometimes I wonder
Sometimes I ponder
Should I bother?
To know him any further
I have a brother
Who obeys orders!
A little less wilder
Always coated in leather
Carries me like a feather
Compared to the others
I have a brother
Who is a spender!
Always squanders
Roars away in thunder
At his own careless blunders
I have a brother
Who I gather
Refuses to climb the ladder
Whilst he lives with a partner
Though he loves a good flatter
Stop father! Stop mother!
One, two, three and four
Who needs another?
