I saw an Elvis Presley movie Jailhouse Rock, where he gets out of jail and makes his own records and takes them to the radio stations himself. And then, he puts records in the store. After seeing that, I made records an put them in stores.

I'd been to Memphis before, but we stayed out of Memphis early on in the late 70s for obvious reasons. People were very sensitive about Elvis Presley, and my stage name obviously would be provocative to some people in that area at that time.

Funny Conversations
Sitting in Barnes and Noble I overhear,
“That’s nothing my dear,
My mother, father and sister died in the same year.
and I never really tell anyone this,
so don’t look like such a mess.”
Now, this sounds like a tragedy,
I laughed to myself is more like a comedy.
It was like an over exaggeration,
why would a lady say it so loud,
for this kind of situation.
Sitting in McDonalds I over hear an idiom,
“He doesn’t have a pot to piss in,
or a window to throw it out of”
I laughed to myself for I never heard the last phrase,
It was so funny it made my day.
Now you can hear funny conversations everywhere,
if you care to listen and be aware…
of the funny things that people do say,
their conversations might brighten your day.
