Elegy For A Lost Friend
(Note to the reader: I never intended to write something as angry as this, but to get something from out of my system so strong, I felt I had to…. My apologies if anything within this poem sounds offensive….)
We were children at school. It was 1975 we met.
I recall it so clearly, how could I forget.
You were lovely, you had it all, you were wild,
We had a ball.
And later you had wit, and intelligence so much
And how glad I had found you, had found you,
What luck.
The years went swiftly and we parted for Uni,
Some years we lost, but regained the time
As professional careers beckoned,
Our friendship returned so fine,
And to the Olympian heights of Oxford you went,
Living a fantasy, Evelyn Waugh-esque life,
Never knowing that it would become your eventual downfall,
Because it was there you met your wife.
I never liked her, nor her family, nor liked her desire to hunt.
I’d always seen her as pathetically hollow,
Had she been a pool you would never have drowned,
She was simply that shallow.
But you besotted, and love renders the wise blind,
I saw her destroy you, love, destroy you over time.
You parted in 1992. She’d taken enough, she didn’t need you.
Returning to Oxford with another fool in tow, I was so angry.
The years of drink then took its toll. I saw your career fold,
It was all so painful, no story could have told,
The truth that lay behind her lies. I cannot think of anything about her,
Except for the word ‘despise’.
I tried to stop what you had done, reverse you back,
Back from where you had originally come from.
But I lost the war, I lost the fight,
For you had gone, my friend, you had lost life’s brilliant
Light.
I last saw you in the nursing home. It was over a year ago, a while
I know.
The looks now faded, your brilliant mind lost,
A day is confusion; the past has dearly cost.
Your eyes that sparkled have lost their lustre of wit,
And all for what? Some silly bitch? A pompous, pseudo upper-class git.
In sportswear you sit, smoking in silence, as I tried to speak.
But to you, I’m not there. The room is silent, to you, you’re alone,
So after two hours I get my coat and drive home.
Tears dash the road ahead. Tears mist the rushing scene,
There is nothing I can do, life is so obscene.
As in my mind I still picture you there – lost in vacant stare.
Life can be so unfair.
Life can be so unfair………………………..

Lost To Find My Lot
Lost in a world, that scares me to death,
Lost in a crowd I’m losing my breath,
Lost as a kid, lost as an adult
I feel everything is falling apart and its my fault
Lost as a person, cant find my way
Lost in life every day, Lost in worry
Who am I?
I’ve lived a Lie
Lost to Kindness,
Lost to Love
Lost in the sky,
Like a lonely dove
Lost in thought which I shouldn’t do
It Winds me up,
I can’t get through
Lost to comfort all kind words
Lost to advice that isn’t heard
Lost to those who really care?
All these people always there
Lost in Me, I need a break
Lost in wonder which road should I take?
Lost in a place I don’t know well
Where are you now? There’s no one to tell
Lost here all alone To break these walls
Lost in mind
Lost in soul
Lost memories, there just a hole
Lost family, lost my place
Still yet I’m full of hate
Lost in boredom think I’ll leave
There’s a lot in life I need to achieve

Sonnet: When
When trust is lost, how can things move forward?
When love is lost, how can friendship remain?
When hope is lost, living remains awkward;
When fairness lost, most men could turn insane!
When wealth is lost, it could be well regained;
When health is lost, life is only a bane;
When virtues lost, nothing is truly gained;
When peace is lost, dialogue must start again.
When mind is lost, how can one ever feign?
When man is lost, to trace him is quite sane;
When Will is lost, no man can live or reign;
When God is lost, all things we do in vain.
When soul is lost, the fear of Hell awaits,
And fail do we to enter Heaven’s gates!

Lost and Alone
Lost without love
Lost without family
Lost without friends
Lost without anyone
Lost without memories
Lost without thoughts
Lost without caring
Lost without a heart
Lost without a soul
Lost without feelings
Lost without dreams
Lost without life
Lost without the world
Lost without earth
Lost in my mind
Alone with the devil
Alone to burn in hell
Alone to be remembered
Alone on an island
Alone to be myself
Alone to love myself
Alone to love no one
Alone on earth
Alone in life
Alone with no thoughts
Alone with no love
Alone with no one
Alone with no memories
Alone to think
Alone to know oneself
Alone to find me

From a Dropout's Point of View
I remember when I cared
When getting to class on time was a nessecity
When homework was completed before I was home
When there was nothing lower than a 85 on my report card
But that's nothing but a memory
I've lost the desire to succeed
To push myself to the limit and beyond
To even come to class
To care about my life
I've lost myself
I've lost myself to the parties, the money, the 'lifestyle'
I just wish I could forget so it wouldn't be so painful to remember
I wish I found the old me
The me that cared about my life and everyone around him
The me that had every teacher's and student's respect
The me that was still in high school

Rhythm Of Life
You say youll get over
It
But I know you better
Your feelings have been hurt a bit
And you just cant forget her
Youll want her back by tomorrow
But she wont remember your name
You better
Get lost in the rhythm
Get lost in the rhythm of life
Get lost in the rhythm
Get lost in the rhythm of life
You cant seem to step around
Lifes cracks in the sidewalk
You wanna live in the fast lane
But you wont be the driver
You could be waiting a lifetime
Before you make up your mind
You gotta
Get lost in the rhythm
Get lost in the rhythm of life
Get lost in the rhythm
Get lost in the rhythm of life
You say that my soul is lost
And that youre my savior
Youll do anything at any cost
To reform my behavior
Didnt I make it this far
By making up my own mind
You gotta
Get lost in the rhythm
Get lost in the rhythm of life

Forsaken Love
Love once lost is ever lost,
to one who loves with all his heart,
when true love bears the final cost,
and love once found is torn apart.
Love is lost and never found,
to one who never knows it’s worth,
sorrowed tears a hollow sound,
in love there is no last re-birth,
Love is cold and without hope,
when all is lost and lovers part,
hearts when split can never cope,
without love, life must depart.

All to War
I lost my mother
I lost my father
I lost my brother
And lost my dreams too
I lost my friends
I lost my family
I lost my sister
And lost my will too
I lost my school
I lost my work
I lost my city
And lost my rights too
I lost my day
I lost my night
I lost my sight
And lost my morning dew
(to the soul of every victim of war)

Trust is found
Trust in man was lost today
Trust in man that is never quite regained
Trust was lost when you started to betray
Trust was lost when you didn't care enough to say
Trust was lost when you used me as your social play
Trust was lost when you hurt me in front of family and those that used me as prey
Trust was lost when you denied me of my greatest day
Trust was lost when you ignored my loves and hates
Trust was lost when you borrowed and never repaid
Trust was lost when I gave and you treated me as a slave
Trust was lost when I cared and all you wanted was pay
Trust was lost when I loved and you treated me as the fool
Trust was lost when I had a great passion and you treated it as a ration
Trust was lost when I looked in your eyes and saw the truth, but you continued to lie
Trust was lost when I asked you to help and you never even tried
Trust was found and everything turned around
When I lowered my head and looked up to the Masters stead
Trust was found and with it came the sound of the beginning to an eternal round
For on that day trust was found
Trust becomes sound, only when man looks around and realizes that
The only trust to be found is in him-self and the one that gave us ground
TRUST WAS FOUND!

Lost In You
(r.stewart/a. taylor)
Hey baby
Youve been on my mind tonight
Im so lonely
I just had to sit down and write
I spent all yesterday
Trying to figure out what Im gonna say
A letter from the heart
Is so hard to start baby
Hows your mama, hows the wheather
Hows that son of mine, yeah.
Hey baby
Been a long time since we made love
Im stone cold, the beds hard
And the work is tough
Im never gonna leave you again
This job aint worth the pain
No money in the world
Aint worth being away from you
Ooh baby I dont sleep
Without you by my side, listen
Im in love with you woman
Its a common known natural fact
And Ive found what Im looking for
And its so much more than that
Im lost in you, Im lost in you
Im lost in you, Im lost in you
Hey baby
You dont know what youve done for me
Im so happy
As any man can deserve to be
I was living in a life of sin
God knows what a mess I was in
So glad you found me
I aint getting any younger
Hey baby I just hope
It aint all a dream
Im in love with you woman
Its a common known natural fact
And Ive found what Im looking for
And its so much more than that
Im lost in you, Im lost in you
Im lost in you, Im lost in you
I miss you baby
I miss you too
I miss your laughing eyes
I miss our baby crying
I wanna lay you out
And kiss you all over
Im coming home real soon
Be ready cause when I do
Im gonna make love to you
Like fifteen men.
Im lost in you and I love it
Im lost in you and I love it
Im lost in, Im lost in
Im lost in you
Im lost in, Im lost in
Im lost in you
And I just love it
Hey baby I love it
Child I love it
Im lost in you, yeah

I Lost
I lost my first thought in the morning
I lost my prayer in the night
I lost the only joy of living
I lost the direction of my life
I lost what eased troubles of the day
I lost what gave weekends most pleasure
I lost what is constant in yesterdays
I lost what was to be the future
I lost confidence in my ways
I lost the swagger in my walk
I lost what parts all colors from gray
I lost whom I loved most
I lost you.
Living Inside Myself
In my life
Ive felt so self assured
But suddenly its all changed
Shes a cloud
That hangs above my world
And I find myself wondring in the rain
And now I cant go on
cause I am lost
Living inside myself
Living inside this shell
Living outside your love
I am lost
Somewhere inside my own dreams
Afraid of what life really means
Living without your love
I need a guiding light
To shine on my darkest days
I was young, and time was on my side
But like a fool I let it slip away
And now those days are gone
And I am lost
Living inside myself
Living inside this shell
Living outside your love
I am lost
Somewhere inside my own dreams
Afraid of what life really means
Living without your love
In my life
Ive felt so self-assured
But oh how all the seasons change
And now Im not that strong
cause I am lost
Living inside myself
Living inside this hell
Living outside your love
I am lost
Somewhere inside my own dreams
Afraid of what life really means
Living without your love
I am lost
Living inside myself
Living inside this shell
Living outside your love
I am lost

Sonnet: What Joy!
I lost a book and found it at long last;
The joy when I saw it again was great;
I lost many other things in the past;
I searched my house entire like a feat!
I lost my poem new and almost cried;
My heart just leapt with joy when I found it;
I lost my wealth-details and almost died;
God gave them back after I prayed a bit.
What joyful tears filled father’s eyes when came
His prodigal son after many years!
What joy afilled a mother’s heart when blame-
Afreed daughter returned home without fears!
The joy that fills heaven when souls are saved
Cannot be imagined by minds God gave!

Live After Death
Past beyond the light
Lays those evil deeds
Lost my love
Lost my life
In this garden of fear
Holy love is nomore
Make no sense of it all
Judas before his fall
What you see is not real
But simply an illusion
It a whole new world
Where the chaos prevails
Abominations beyond your imagination
Dont care for this world no more
Who cares now what right or wrong
Its reality
Lost my love
Lost my dreams
Had every promise broken
There anger in my heart
Drown in the sins of all those years
No mercy
No more tears
Killing time is about to begin
Lost my love
Lost my fear
If there a home
Then its far away
Must mean that i am lost
Stray away from the path of holiness
What a shame
That I am dammed
Will my soul burn in the lake of fire
Or freeze beneath the artic tire
Dammed from the start that I was born
Going to the land of nevermore

I'm feeling all alone
I've always said this is a big big world
And now I'm lost in this world
Lost feeling...
Lost love...
Lost and confused,
Even broken and used.
Lost everything for love
I'm so lost
Im dying inside
When trus is lost, how can things,
move forward?
I'm feeling all alone
I'm lost in my feelings
I'm lost in everything.
I los him...
I los his heart.
Wanted to write a poem
But lost the words
I've lost everything and I don't,
Know why.
I'm lost in this world
My mind is lost
I cant seem to trust anyone
Thoughts of nothing
No dreams or goals
I'm lost in this world.

All Is Lost.
As rain starts glistening
All is lost.
As blood spills from the veins of those who are unsuspecting
All is lost.
Sad as may be
All is lost.
Tears pour from my wet eyes, then
All is lost.
All is lost in the shadows
As time passes me by
All is lost.
His eyes went gray, his skin faded pale
My love is lost.

Do I Need To Be Yours
I am not yours, not lost in you,
Not lost, although I long to be
Lost as a candle lit at noon,
Lost as a snowflake in the sea,
Lost in the wilderness of time,
Lost in the midst of all.
You love me, and I find you still
A spirit beautiful and bright,
Yet I am I, who long to be
Lost as a light is lost in light
Lost in the dark is lost in darkness.
Oh plunge my heart deep in love—put out
My senses, leave me deaf and blind,
Swept by the tempest of your love,
A taper in a rushing wind.

Lost in everything
Lost in thought
lost in pain
lost in fear
that you can never retain!
Lost in trouble
lost in grief
lost in heartbreak
that you can never relief!
Lost in sorrow
lost in death
lost in misery
That you can never refresh!
Lost in life
lost in words
lost in everything
That you can never return!
Lost in chaos
lost in peace
lost in burdens
that you can never release!
Because these are the things
we think and feel
through the good and the bad
It's a forever done deal!

I’m Lost
I AM LOST
Deep inside the forest, its too dark,
Its no light here, there is no way to enlightenment..
I found myself lost.
Neither I can go forward,
nor I will come back from here.
What i am doing is just waiting for sunrise,
to know whether it is east or west,
coz... i m lost.
I m lost in the way,
Once I thought would lead to my life,
but now its nowhere that I can go.
Its the darkness of the forest,
that is forcing me to thrive,
I am thrashed to be lost,
being lost to loser,
I AM LOST...

Lost
Lost in the valleys of life
lost in the daily grind
blinded by the light
of all that we see
I always used to say
it would never happen to me
but I could never have been so wrong
I'm so far lost
I'm living in another world
but I'm fighting back
mind and body still strong
I'll find my way home
