Edisoned [1920 slang]
Just when I thought today
Was beginning to become a frog's eyebrows
Preceding the gansters episode
Surviving the Chicago lightning
And getting out of that dump
It bacame a Chinese angle
When hearing 'Grab a little air'
I get sapped with some nutcrackers
Then a couple of bean shooters
Are forced to my head
I then find myself in a pair of nippers
I've been pinched
I am sent over to the club house
I made [Kevin] a git-box player
With his mouthpiece
Aiding him to dust out
Must have been playing his git-box
At one of those beer flats
Places where he can play to make spinach to live
I also made this ladyleggar [Michelle]
With a couple of oyster fruit strands around her neck
Possibly paying off protection money
To keep the heat away from her establishment
It appears these flatties sure enjoy
Shaking down these joints
I pipe a couple of flappers in silk stockings
I pipe one of their slips was revealing
Want to tell her
'Hey it's snowing down south'
I couldn't, I'm too far away
While leading me down the halls
The flattie informs me
That they have the goods on me
I should get on the blower
And call a good lip
He leads me to the Coney Island
I know I'll be edisoned
Few moments later they give me the third
If I don't sing they'll give me chin music
Each time there were two gumshoes respectivly
While in the Coney Island
The first two were [Matt] and [Tony]
Then [Rick] and [Mike]
The third set of gumshoes were [Pete] and [Drew]
Each of this six seems to be father time
Each one informs me I'll be heading to the big house
There's a call copper, who says
I was one one of the hoods
That came out of this jitney
And enter that dump where they spotted the goods
They lead me to a holding cell
Before they start tightening the screws
'The quicker you sing who's you're working for'
'The quicker we'll get a croaker for that Harlem sunset'
'We'll get the meat wagon for you'
As they lead me to the cell
I see in one cell a half cut
In another a John D
Couple of other cells were occupied by slimps I recognize
They'll hype you when you're not paying attention
The one next to me
I could tell has another tray of pork chops
After a chime or two I'm back in the Coney Island
I wonder what kind of rap They'll have me on
They tell me I better be a pigeon
Then it'll be a breeze
To blouse out of this dingus
The second set of gumshoes ankles in
One of them takes out their hope chest
Then hands the other a gasper
Then takes one out for himself
He lights them both
Before either one says anything to me
Usually I could cut myself a piece of cake
But with this Harlem sunset I have
I can't do it any longer
Suddenly one of them informs me
There were hot ice in the dump I came out of
He believes I was fencing them
And that I was one of those gansters
Who was pumping metal at them
He was telling me no more bunk
The third set of gumshoes relieves the second
One opens the icebox pulls out two pops
The label is fimiliar on both bottles
They were [Cooper's Cave Soda Company]
He hands the other one
Then pops off the top of his
Takes a snort from it
The other does the same to his bottle
One tells me he doesn't want to hear
'Don't know from nothing'
He doesn't want me to give them the runaround
I'll say the same to these gumshoes
The same thing I said to the goons at that dump
'You're tooting the wrong ringer'
The other says
'We think you know more than we originally thought'
The other replies 'And how'
They tell me I'll be getting more than a three spot
They have the goods to get me convicted
One tells the other
'The screws are going to love this fish in the pen'
Then the other reply
'They're going enjoy putting him the bing'
I know I don't deserve this bit
Then one tells me that he didn't peg me as a stupe
Then this broosky with a pencin thin mustache on his puss enters
He had these kippy dog kettles upon his dogs
He tells them both not to get in a lather
He must be the high pillow
They refer to him as [TR]
He tells the high pillow to get a slant of the hot ice
He gloms through them
He then says
'I have newshawks wanting the lowdown on this'
He then asks
'So what's this gink's monicker'
'Was he packing heat? '
They tell him my name
And informs him I wasn't packing
Then the high pillow informs the others
'He's a patsy, It's a frame'
'He's on the up and up, they're ringers'
He turns to me and says
'You can dust out of here'
I dust out
While ankling the street
I ponder if there'll be another Chinese angle some time today
I also ponder if I'm bait for these flatties
I'm now late to a get together
With couple of bun dusters [Troy] and [David]

Chicago [1920's slang]
Left my dump, off to the [Gourmet Cafe]
Ankling it, no need for a hack
I'm a johnnie walker
Stopped a bit to jaw a little
With two wiseheads [Jess] and [Carrianne]
Before work
As we discuss how one of their coffee-and-donut doble
Keep klunking out on them
When I arrived
I poured me a cup of joe
Then took a powder
To find me an ameche
To arrange a get together for tonight
With my tight squeeze
I get back and drink the joe
Shortly afterwards I get jingle-brained
Then I threw a joe
I wake to find me in this heap
Someplace in a back of alley
And was being pulled out by three goons
I recognize [Daniel], [Bob] and [Dain]
Once they get me inside their hideout
I'm still jingle-brained
I realized I drunk a mickey finn
Now I'm in a jam
I recognize the butter and egg man
As the baddest gangster in upstate New York
His name is [Don Levy]
I also recognize the rest of the chopper squad
They are [Thom], [Josh] and also [Dan]
Who I use to drink out of the same bottle with
Don sends one of his hatchmen to get the seventh
Which he refers to [Engelhardt]
Each one of these numbers were well-heeled
With Chicago typewriters
Couple of them had dinchers in there kissers
Another asks for one of their ciggies
Mr. Levy who comes off as a nance
Tosses his deck to him and tells him to pipe down
Then he slaps my lid of my keyster
I know I'll be grilled about dust I know about
I can see by their get-ups
They have heavy sugar
The hard-boiled gimp tells me to level with him
He thinks I know alot the couple I'm working with
He mentions they're his biggest rival
Who don't want to play ball with him
All I am is a pearl diver in their restaurant
I don't know their potatoes of capers
I tell him he's tooting the wrong ringer
'All I do is wash dishes.'
They don't seem to be in that type of racketeering
Then two bins ankles in
Den tells them '[Terese] and [Carole] get in the back
Few minutes later two skirts arrive
This time he says
'Annie and Mary go in the back'
'Keep those other two company'
'This is business'
He tells me once he was left holding the bag
He never got his dib from my big cheese
My big cheese according to Don
Gave him the Chinese squeeze
He apparently became my big cheese's patsy
And refered him as a smooth
Need to bring this chin to a conclusion with me still intact
At this time, the gals in the back were giggling
Maybe this joint is wet with giggle water
Mr. Levy then says
'I'll have one of my goons sock your scnozzle, savvy? '
He wants me to rat out
If there were anyone planted on the inside of his operations
As if a pearl diver, like myself know anything
Then a dish with a pretty pan enters
Don then asks her
'Why do you gals always come when I'm doing business
He takes out his bank roll
Which seems to be at least a pai of Cs
Or possibly more
He places some lettuce in her hands
Then suggests she take the other gals out and dry up
She has these big bubs
Which i'd like to put my flippers on
Just then she puts her lips upon his
Then i realize she's his moll
Knowing I shouldn't get dizzy with this dame
I tell him don't get ing bing
Then confess ish kabibble
About neither his nor his rival's bee's wax
Well Jeepers Creepers
It's not getting duck soup
In convincing him I know nothing
I believe soon he'll be gashouse with me
Sure enough he put his paws upon my pipes
Which sent my pump to leap out of my pipes
From the heebie jeepies
He pours himself some yack yack bourbon
And then takes a snort of it
He says 'Says you'
'Now start singing, tell me who's the inside guy'
'Or I'll have one of my goons put the broderick on you'
I've remembered I've had sap poison upon my head before
He orders one of his goons to sock my peeper
I get dry gulched
It was so hard I know I have a goog
One of the fellas asks
If he should take me for a one way ride
Then I see Mr. Levy jerking a nod
Just then a Chicago pineapple flys through the window
I think I'll be out of this dump in a Chicago overcoat
One of the goons grabs the Chicago pineapple
Tosses it out of another window
They all begin to burn powder
I duck to stay out of the Chicago lightning
I see lead smashing into everything in sight
One of the fellas takes a shiv to me
Once the Chicago lightning ends
Mr. Levy and his goons are nowheres to be seen
I take to the air
Covering up the Harlem sunset
With a rag that was by the door
Today hasn't been much of a cat's pajamas
I get outside find myself in front of an old hash house
Across the street from [Caffe Lena]
Then I hear 'Grab a little air'
I look around and see buttons
Waving their buzzers at me in one hand
And the other their pieces

Coney Island Steeplechase
Would you like to go on the Coney Island Steeple
Go and have a good time
We'll take the subway right down to King's Highway
Gonna have a good time
If it's all right it would be so nice
If you come and go with me
The roller-coaster you and me
Just try
Would you like to go on the Coney Island Steeple
Go and have a good time
Like a sister and brother we'll cling to each other
When they find out their parents aren't there
Oh it'd be so nice
Like choco with ice
Oh if you come and go with me
How nice it would be
Don't be so shy
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Maybe not Friday
Saturday, Sunday

Coney Island
Coming down from downpatrick
Stopping off at st. johns point
Out all day birdwatching
And the craic was good
Stopped off at strangford lough
Early in the morning
Drove through shrigley taking pictures
And on to killyleagh
Stopped off for sunday papers at the
Lecale district, just before coney island
On and on, over the hill to ardglass
In the jamjar, autumn sunshine, magnificent
And all shining through
Stop off at ardglass for a couple of jars of
Mussels and some potted herrings in case
We get famished before dinner
On and on, over the hill and the craic is good
Heading towards coney island
I look at the side of your face as the sunlight comes
Streaming through the window in the autumn sunshine
And all the time going to coney island Im thinking,
Wouldnt it be great if it was like this all the time.

Bone To Bone
Flatbush boy cruisin' sheepshead bay
His boardwalk mama just a sniff away
Underground dmt, ridin' thunder train
The cone island white fish boy is on the run again
Oh, runnin' with the pack
Oh, never lookin' back
Oh, know just where he's been
That coney island white fish boy's
Been there and back again
Sixteen years with his boardwalk queen
And at steeplechase, she used to wet his dreams
She combs her hair, that flamin' jewel
Streaked with clorox bleach
Coney gettin' down and dirty
Snortin' up the beach
She'd be screamin' (coney)
She'd be screamin' (coney)
Go get 'em coney
(coney), bone to bone screamin'
(coney) she be screamin' (coney)
Get down
Get back in town
Get back, get down
Get back in town
Get back, get down
Coney!
She'd be screamin' (coney)
Best believe it (coney)

Dinner For Three
she is a doctor and he is a lawyer
looks like they are sweet after three years
of marriage
compatible, super, she says
as she takes a sip of her pineapple juice
while he prefers not beer
but just plain water,
well, he knows more about
asthma and heart disease
but i do not know more about
legal terms, she tells me again,
one time, he tells me
in the email, he cannot live without her
even for a minute
super, really super, this loveydovey couple
i like them
but sometimes, i couldn't help thinking
they are still new on this
trade, this marriage, and still there will be
more storms to come
superstorms
i still have yet twelve years
i and emma, and we still need more storms
to shake this boat
this marriage
and if there are none to come
i will rock it, let me see how anger
makes her more human
and strong and true
and perhaps even more
beautiful,
then soon, when these couple for three blissful years
comes again
it will now be a nicer dinner for four.

Mr. Big Toe Interviews Pillow Monster
Pillow Monster walks through the door,
he know what his interview is for.
Pillow Monster has to talk about what he just ate,
he loves healthy foods that make him feel great!
Mr. Big Toe walks in the lobby right then,
shake hands with Pillow Monster and they become best friends.
Mr. Big Toe takes Pillow Monster into the studio,
“Says, Welcome To Big Toe Wants To Know”
this is one of the funniest radio shows.”
Pillow Monster’s tells the children how he saves the day,
saves the day on Melodie Mezoree’s birthday.
He tells them he is a character in 4 books,
more will be out soon on the Nook.
Till then he does one last rhyme,
and sings to audience and Mr. Big Toe one last time.

Coney Island Baby
You know, man, when I was a young man in high school
You believe in or not I wanted to play football for the coach
And all those older guys
They said he was mean and cruel, but you know
Wanted to play football for the coach
They said I was to little too light weight to play line-backer
So I say Im playing right-end
Wanted to play football for the coach
cause, you know some day, man
You gotta stand up straight unless youre gonna fall
Then youre gone to die
And the straightest dude
I ever knew was standing right for me all the time
So I had to play football for the coach
And I wanted to play football for the coach
When youre all alone and lonely
In your midnight hour
And you find that your soul
Its been up for sale
And you begin to think bout
All the things that youve done
And you begin to hate
Just bout everything
But remember the princess who lived on the hill
Who loved you even though she knew you was wrong
And right now she just might come shining through
And the -
- glory of love, glory of love
Glory of love, just might come through
And all your two-bit friends
Have gone and ripped you off
Theyre talking behind your back saying, man
Youre never going to be no human being
And you start thinking again
bout all those things that youve done
And who it was and what it was
And all the different things you made every different scene
Ahhh, but remember that the city is a funny place
Something like a circus or a sewer
And just remember different people have peculiar tastes
And the -
- glory of love, the glory of love
The glory of love, might see you through
Yeah, but now, now
Glory of love, the glory of love
The glory of love, might see you through
Glory of love, ah, huh, huh, the glory of love
Glory of love, glory of love
Glory of love, now, glory of love, now
Glory of love, now, now, now, glory of love
Glory of love, give it to me now, glory of love see you through
Oh, my coney island baby, now
(Im a coney island baby, now)
Id like to send this one out for lou and rachel
And all the kids and p.s. 192

Every Face Tells A Story
Look at the man in the corner, hes sitting all alone
His blankets are made out of cardboard,
His pillows are made out of stone
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
See the man walking on the water, see the light in his eyes
He came into the world with a message to tell,
He came into the world to die
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Youre always telling stories, youre always telling me lies
Youre always telling stories, why?
So think of yourself in the water, seeing your days flashing by
Its too late to see what you wanted to be,
Youve spent all your time, you must die
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Every face tells a story it never tells a lie
Step down
And make it work out right
Im trying to get to you with my warning
Been there
For nearly half the night
Look its nearly four in the morning

My Love Tells Me So
Performed by crush
You dont have to cry when I say good-bye, good-bye
You know Ill be coming back real soon
And when I do, you know
It will be such a sweet hello
Rising like the sun above the sky line, sky line
Love is brighter than ever before
And that should be understood
When is said I do you knew I would
Some things can be good forever
My love tells me so
Two hearts can be one together
My love tells me so
Let me lay your head upon my pillow, baby
Whisper what you need to me, my dear (my dear)
Dont worry, close your eyes
Morning will find me by your side
Some things can be good forever
My love tells me so
Two hearts can be one together
My love tells me so
(whispered)
Give me a chance and Ill sing for you
I have a song for you
To be with you is a dream
I dream of you
Some things can be good forever
My love tells me so

Demon voice
he tells me to fight not to walk away
he tells me to scream not to talk rational
he tells me to hate not to forgive
he tells me destroy not to create
he tells me to give in
he tells me to kill
he knows i'm getting weaker
he knows it's almost his time
he knows he will be free
he knows he will have fun
he knows it will be a bloody ride to the end
he knows the end is death and so do i

Quick to Dump Their Junk
Some seem ready to jump into a garbage dump.
Quick to dump their junk,
And then start running.
Quicker to abuse their minds.
Quicker to find the time to whine.
And quick to say who's nuts...
And who ain't crazy.
It seems easier to walk away from people raging.
Easier to say who should be who they are.
Easier to start a fight.
Easier to say who's not living right.
And easier to be the one who sleeps at night.
Quick and easy it seems not to worry.
It appears some live lives free of mental strife.
Quick and easy it seems for them not to hurry.
When a life they choose to live,
Is not disguised by lies.
It seems some can take their lumps and not be moaning.
Or groan from Sunrise 'til that Sun goes down.
Whether they keep a faith.
Or pray every second of each day.
They don't walk around,
With a face to frown.
Why is it...
Some seem ready to jump into a garbage dump?
And why is it...
Some are quick to dump their junk,
And run?
Why are they...
Quicker to abuse their minds.
And why so quick are they to whine?
And quick they are to say who's nuts...
But they're not crazy.

The Hard Way Every Time
The Hard Way Every Time
Written by - Jim Croce
Yeah, I've had my share of broken dreams
And more than a couple of falls
And in chasin' what I thought were moonbeams
I have run into a couple of walls
But in looking back at the places I've been
The changes that I've left behind
I just look at myself to find
I've learned the hard way every time
'Cause I've had my share of good intentions
And I've made my share of mistakes
And I've learned at times it's best to bend
'Cause if you don't well those are the breaks
Should have listened to all the things I was told
But I was young and too proud at the time
Now I look at myself to find
I learn the hard way ev'ry time
But in looking back at the lessons I've learned
And the mountains I wanted to climb
I just look at myself to find
I've learned the hard way ev'ry time
'Cause I've had my share of broken dreams
And more than a couple of falls
And in chasin' what I thought were moonbeams
I have run into a couple of walls
But in looking back at the faces I've been
I would sure be the first one to say
When I look at myself today
Wouldn'ta done it any other way

I'm Off to The Library Again
There she is again
Putting books back
In the right section
All nice and neat.
Then she turns
And smiles at me.
'Hi, found what your
Looking for? '
I think to myself,
Yes she's standing
Right in front of me.
But I bottle out,
And decide to play it cool,
'No, have you any new
Football books in? '
Bet she thinks ı'm
A right saddo now?
Sounded about ten years old.
But to my delight she tells
Me she's a football fan too,
And we chat for ages stood
In front of the football annuals.
Then an old lady pushes in
And wants to know where the
Mills and Boon books are,
So off she goes looking
For romance and passion.
I wait until she's at the desk
She looks at me and smiles
When she's stamping my books,
She's left her mark on me that's for sure.
I tell her to have a nice day,
And she replies and you,
And tells me to enjoy my books,
I wonder what time the library
Opens in the morning?

Peace On Earth / Little Drummer Boy (feat. Bing Crosby)
David: Hello...... you're the new butler?
Bing: Hahaha! Well, it's been a long time since I've been the new anything!
David: What's happened to Hudson?
Bing: I guess he's changing.
David: Yeah, he does that a lot, doesn't he? Uhm... Oh, I'm David Bowie, I live
down the road.
Bing: Oh!
David: Sir Percival let's me use his piano if he not around. He's not around, is
he?
Bing: I can honestly say I haven't seen him, but come on in! Come in!
David: But uh...
Bing: Come on in!
David: Are you related to sir Percival?
Bing: Well, distantly...
David: Oh, you're not the poor relation from America, right?
Bing: Ha! Gee... news sure travels fast, doesn't it? I'm Bing.
David: Oh, I'm pleased to meet you. You're the one that sings, right?
Bing: Well, right or wrong, I sing either way.
David: Oh well, I sing too.
Bing: Oh good! What kind of singing?
David: Mostly the contemporary stuff. Do you eh... do you like modern music?
Bing: Oh, I think it's marvellous! Some of it's really fine. But tell me, have you ever listened to any of the older fellows?
David: Oh yeah, sure. I like ah... John Lennon and the other one with eh...Harry
Nilsson.
Bing: Mmm... you go back that far, uh?
David: Yeah, I'm not as young as I look.
Bing: Haha, none of us is these days!
David: In fact I've got a six year old son. And he really gets excited around the Christmas holiday-thing.
Bing: Do you go in for anything of the traditional things in the... boy, household, Christmas time?
David: Oh yeah, most of them really. Presents, tree, decorations, agents sliding down the chimney...
Bing: What??
David: Oh, I was just seeing if you were paying attention.
Bing: Haha!
David: Actually, our family do most of the things that other families do. We
sing the same songs.
Bing: Do you?
David: Oh, I even have a go at 'White Christmas'.
Bing: You do, eh!
David: And this one. This is my son's favourite. Do you know this one?
Bing: Oh, I do indeed, it's a lovely theme.
And they told me pa-ram-pam-pam-pam
A new-born king to see pa-ram-pam-pam-pam
Our finest gifts we bring pa-ram-pam-pam-pam
Ra-pam-pam-pam, ra-pam-pam-pam
Peace on Earth, can it be
Years from now, perhaps we'll see
See the day of glory
See the day, when men of good will
Live in peace, live in peace again
Peace on Earth, can it be
Every child must be made aware
Every child must be made to care
Care enough for his fellow man
To give all the love that he can
I pray my wish will come true
For my child and your child too
He'll see the day of glory
See the day when men of good will
Live in peace, live in peace again
Peace on Earth, can it be
Can it be
Bing: It's a pretty theme, isn't it?

The Blind Couple And The Close Minded Man
a couple born blind at birth, decided that they would marry
and a child they wanted to carry.
when an acquaintance of a friend
began to question such an affair.
he had to question them, he did not care.
how can you marry one another?
when you can't even see each other?
how do you know if your partner
is a beauty or a beast?
and any children that you have
may come out the same as you.
living in darkness, is that what you
want for them too?
the blind couple holding hands, and smiles
on their faces, walked over to him.
the woman asked if she could touch him?
and he agreed.
she touched the features of his face
his hair, his shoulders, and leaned
over and inhaled deeply.
she stepped back, and in a soft gentle voice said:
you are a man 5'11' in height
but you have no clue- no insight.
by your features of your face
your looks are quite fine
your face narrows down to your chin
telling me you are slim.
the mark on the bridge of your nose
tells me that you wear glasses too.
the smell from your body, tells me that
you are a nervous person, and always on the move.
and the way you dress, makes you think
you're in the groove.
'shocked and dismayed, he did'nt know what to say'
she then said in that same tone.
because we are blind from our birth
does not mean we can not see.
we live in darkness, but love lights up our hearts.
and the other senses, we had from the start.
we do everything the same as you
and some things, we may do better too.
we dress ourselves, bathe, cook, clean the house too
and we know just what to do.
as for a child coming into our lives
and if the child will live in darkness
the same as us.
in GOD we put our trust.
embarassed and apologetic, he learned
a lesson that day.
LOVE AND FAITH, have no boundaries
and there is nothing that can not be overcome.
if you trust in the FATHERS SON.

Joys of Flat Packing (Fun Poem 33)
For those who built models
when we were a kid.
Remember all the enjoyment we had
putting all the pieces together.
Then we grew up to build bigger models,
wardrobes, cabinets and things.
Fun they look until
you take out the instructions,
only to find they are in a foreign language.
Something that you cannot understand.
Now if you get over that hurdle,
there is still more to come.
Before too long you are scratching your head again.
The possibilities are endless here.
You have a piece that is missing
or something that will not fit.
If your one of the lucky ones,
someone has put in some extras,
or have you missed something out somewhere?
It is back to the instruction,
the ones that you cannot read.
No definitely, you have some bits over,
but what do you do with them?
A couple of nails or screws you do not mind,
but when it is enough to build
whole thing all over again.
It is then you want to find a corner to sit in
and have a darn good cry.
Oh, the joys of flat packing,
it will get you every time.

Dump The Dude
Hey girl, I wanna give you some friendly advice
Hes got you cryin, oh hes done it again
Hes made a date and he didnt show
You know hes done this to you so many times
When you gonna let him go
He doesnt treat you little a lover should
He could be so downright cruel
Cant understand why youre hangin with him
Girl, dont you be a fool
Go on and dump the dude
You know hes got a rotten attitude
He always leaves you in a cryin mood
Take my advice, dont you think twice
Listen to what Im telling you
Go on and dump the dude
You know that weve been friends for so many years
And Ive never ever seen you this way
So torn apart, how he gets to your heart
With all the little games that he plays
Just give him up, get him out of your life
Promise me that once and for all
Youre gonna tell him that its over and done
The very next time he calls, aint you now
Dump the dude
You know hes got a rotten attitude
He always leaves you in a cryin mood
Take my advice, find somebody nice
Listen to what Im telling you
Go on and dump the dude
Girl, I know you may think this is none of my business
But the fact that were friends I believe that makes it my business
I care about you but I aint preachin
I think you should dump the dude
I dont know why youd want to settle for less
When you could have so much more
You know that you deserve only the best
So what are you waiting for?
Go on and dump the dude
You know hes got a rotten attitude
He always leaves you in a cryin mood
Take my advice, dont you think twice
Find yourself somebody nice
Go on and dump the dude
