Eagle night

Eagle night and seen by sea
A distant call, in sonnet key
In any moment, place or time
A distant call is sent from high
Eagle night, i swear I’ve sawn
Eagle flight with salty winds
By the pinnacle of water and land
Where sea winds crash and struggle the sand
Call again, from a place that’s near
Always close, so one can hear
Or so can be thought the truth of such things
Resonate from eagle wings
Never foreboding the loss of a call
Never shorn for a sighting once more
The discontent of the mind is evaded
And all the wanting of life unladen
The call, one call, one sight, any wind
Reminds the heart of the sweetest thing
Deep remnants of a time unkempt
And narrowing from this lively nest
Illusioned by dreams of taste and touch
But grasped in song by night eagle clutch

I call your name in the Night

I call your name in the night
Hoping, mercy will be granted on this soul
And you will come to me.

I call your name in the night
All I hear is the whisper of the wind.
And you still don’t come to me.

I call your name in the night
All I see is the moonlight
And you still don’t come to me.

I call your name in the night
All I taste are the almonds from Aphrodite’s presence
And you still don’t come to me.

I call your name in the night
All I smell are the fresh roses
And you still don’t come to me.

I call your name in the night
All I feel is the emptiness your absence has banished me to
And you still don’t come to me.

I call your name in the night
Until my senses became numb
And faded away
You still don’t come to me!

The Eagle wasn't always the Eagle. The Eagle, before he became the Eagle, was Yucatangee, the Talker. Yucatangee talked and talked. It talked so much it heard only itself. Not the river, not the wind, not even the Wolf. The Raven came and said The Wolf is hungry. If you stop talking, you'll hear him. The wind too. And when you hear the wind, you'll fly. So he stopped talking. And became its nature, the Eagle. The Eagle soared, and its flight said all it needed to say.

Illegal

I put my money on love again
At a hundred to one
I dealt my losing out
Ill just try til I win
Or see how close I can come
Oh it should be illegal
It gets me so high
I can fly like an eagle
Night after night
Ive known people who have thrown in the towel
Just cause theyve lost once or twice
But it takes a believer to put all this faith
In the toss of the dice
Oh it should be illegal
It gets me so high
I can fly like an eagle
Night after night
Oh it should be illegal
It gets me so high
I can fly like an eagle
Night after night

Eagle Watch

The morning came, the eagle stirred, one leap to fly again.
The tourists smiled to watch this bird, the envy of all men.
For who has not at one time slept and sometime in the night,
Believed that if they also leapt, they, too, could rise in flight?
Within one dream, atop a hill, I ran and ran and ran...
And all at once I felt the thrill when my first flight began!
I left the hill, I left the Earth, to glide upon the sky...
It was as if my soul gave birth to something that could fly!
No holding back, I had to hurl myself upon the wave!
Like Superman and Supergirl, I flew as if by faith!
I knew just how the eagle felt, designed for higher things...
A better hand I had been dealt, transforming hands to wings!
Each time I see an eagle soar to heights beyond my eyes,
I realise what dreams are for, to simply mesmerise.
Today, each pilot flies above, content to do his best...
Just like the eagle that I love... God help them to be blessed...

by Stephen Gayford called 'Eagle Watch'.

An Old Eagle.

An Eagle Stands on the top of cliff,
Waiting for a way West Wind,
It stands so long in waiting,
Just for the wind to come.

The right wind comes,
This eagle feels so lonely to start flying,
It is ready to fly six thousand miles away,
How a long and lonely journey to go?

Suddenly it wants to give up a great dream.
How a great eagle will struggle on its way?
Why it did not do it earlier and younger?
The right wind passes vainly with no use.

The pitiful eagle is growing older and older.
What will be the next great job for this eagle?
Oh poor eagle, take it easy don’t look up so high.
You are not the new hero at nowadays.

Suddenly a way west wind blows pass,
that only brings you a loneliness.

TOMAD: Think of Me as Dead...[Personal; Death; Humor; Friends]

For family, friends, and acquaintances, I've a thought to share.
In the future if you think of me, think of me as dead. If you dare.
It's really for your benefit as soon you'll plainly see.
You'll really like the feel of it, if you are like me.

There's no need to know the cause of death. I don't mean to alarm,
but if you think it would help, I've a scenario of 'harm'.
Now 'harm' isn't what I'd call death. But I needed a rhyme.
I'd just call death a natural progression of the sands of time.

The Scenario:
Just imagine me in some mountains, hunting a golden eagle's nest.
It's such a romantic way to die as birds just are the best.

Anyway just imagine eagle carrying prey to its lofty aerie,
and me approaching from rocky ledge above, even though it's scary.
I'm dressed all in camouflage and eagle parents don't see me.
They fly away and I descend to nest, ....chicks reaching for my knee.
I could have shot some photos from several feet away,
but the chance to touch young eagles doesn't come every day.

Well I guess the eaglets had a similar thought when they both saw me.
One grabbed my right ankle while the other grabbed left knee.
Now I was getting quite excited, as you may have guessed.
I'll let you finish this scenario as you think is best.

BENEFITS of TOMAD:
Now back to why thinking me as dead really could be cool.
It's not an idle thought on a down day. Don't take me for a fool.

If in past year you've neglected to call, or send email, gift, or card,
you've now got the ultimate excuse to ignore this bard.
There's no good reason to communicate with a person you think is dead,
though I've heard some have tried such a thing. What's wrong in their head?

You can always think of me fondly, enjoy my memory,
and IF I call you, after the shock, you can smile with glee.
But once the conversation's over, you can think again of me as 'passed'.
I think you should give this a try. You may well catch on fast.

But don't think of the idea as only good for you.
I can see there could be some advantages for myself too.
If I think of myself as dead, no more chores I'll have to do….
including calling, emailing or writing.....to you or you or YOU!

Wednesday

nothing here to fear
i'm just sitting around being foolish
when there is work to be done
just a hang-up call
and the quiet breathing
of our persian
we call cajun on a wednesday

so we go from year to year
with secrets we've been keeping
though you say you're not a templar man

seems as if we're circling
for very different reasons
but one day the eagle has to land

out past the fountain a left by the station i start the day
in the usual way
then think -- well why not --
and stop for a coffee
then begin to recall things that
you say
no one's at the door
you suggest a ghost
perhaps a phantom
i agree with this in part
something is with us
i can't put my finger on
-- is thumbalina size 10 on a wednesday --
so we go you tell me
to cheer up
you suspect we're oddly even
even still
the eagle has to land
out past the fountain
pluck up the courage
and snap it's gone again
i start humming "when doves cry"
can someone help me
i think that i'm lost here
lost in a place called america

Voices Cryin Out

Voices cryin out, voices cryin out
Voices cryin out in the night hear them call
Voices cryin out hear them call
Its a night
Like no other night
Its a day
Almost turning grey
Its a heart
Like a broken heart
Its a wheel
At the end of day
Its the plight
Of a boy whos scared
Of the waves rushing out
And the wind in the air
Its the sight
Of one longing to taste
Of life
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Visions that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Its a song
Of a love unsung
Its the pain
Of just being young
Its a cry
Of a voice unheard
Of a face
Speaking silent words
Its the hope
That the time goes by
Take you upon a wing
Teach your soul to fly
Its a wish
That youll live your experience life
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Oh do you know how it feels to be free
Walking your path of life
Embracing destiny one day at a time
Voices cryin out...oh cant you hear them
Voices cryin out...listen please, listen to the future
Voices cryin out...millions and millions and millions of voices
Voices cryin out...oh oh oh oh
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices crying out hear them call
Voices crying out in the night hear them call
Voices from some foreign shore
Vision that seem an incredible dream
Echoing for more
Voices cryin out
Voices cryin out
Voices cryin out...

Fugue 2 / Song Of Daedalus

Call me cool as january
I walk like the breeze
And wear the world like filigree
Call me too large for life
Thats only sticks and stones
Im standing so tall
It seems that Ive grown
Call me irresponsible
Your rules of the game
Are only clouds to float above
Call me, lets do lunch
When I get time for girls
Im working on things
To astonish the world
Call me weird and laugh at me
I tell you its true
Ive found a cure for gravity
Call me mad as march
High as in hogmanay
Just watch me and weep
Im out of this maze
See the wings made of feathers, of wax and of thread
See me soar high above all the quick and the dead
Call me now
Call me stars and moon and plough
Call me lord, call me sire
Call me earth and wind and fire
Call me judge, call me shah
Call me king, call me tsar
Call me god

When The Eagle Cries

Another day, just like any other
out of the blue, it turned to horror
How could they? Why would they?
The innocents suffered hell's inferno
An senseless act that goes unforgotten
How could they? They will pay.
(Chorus)
When the Eagle Cries (5x)
Out of the ashes came a tempted vengeance,
but we are focused, we seek redemption
we are free, we'll stay free
All they've done, is make us stronger
The sleeping giant, is asleep no longer
If need be, we'll die free
(Chorus)
When the Eagle Cries (blood will flow)
When the Eagle Cries (for freedom's fight)
When the Eagle Cries (we love us all)
When the Eagle Cries (we'll sacrifice)
When the Eagle Cries
When the Eagle Cries (blood will flow)
When the Eagle Cries they made us stronger (for freedoms fight)
When the Eagle Cries we'll sacrifice (we love us all)
When the Eagle Cries for freedom's fight (we'll sacrifice)
When the Eagle Cries

Even leaves beg me'' says Eagle

eagle, niggard and black
perched on sycomore on Nile bank
tasty fish gambolled in water
at lightening speed eagle caught
tasty fish and scrambled out

eagle flew and perched on a tree
man was under a tree
and glanced at what sat on tree
eagle and man eyes met at ninety angle
eagle flew away saying
''man may conjure him
by evil eyes''

eagle flew and perched on second tree
some birds were on that tree
Eagle and others birds eyes met at ninety angle
eagle flew away saying he
'' choke as birds watch him eating''

Eagle flew and perched on third tree
the breeze shook leaves of tree
eagle saw leaves unfolded shaking
like a begging hand
eagle flew away saying
'' everything beg me , even leaves
beg me too''

Eagle flew and perched on fourth withered tree
no birds, men and leaves around there
only exrtreme silence around there
eagle ate tasty fish
sang in loudest resounding voice
''eel fish and tasty fish are not the same
I ate tasyty fish until heart palpitated in happiness''

Thinking Of You

Have you ever stood outside a picket fence
You could see through but you can't get to the inside
You sit there and wait
I look at you and anticipate
What we could be and what we could do
Fly the wings of an eagle
Glide along with the wind
No matter how high
I'll be thinking of you the whole time
Fly with wings of an eagle
Glide along with the wind
No matter how high
I'll be thinking of you the whole time
I'm carrying this heavy load
I don't know what to do
The only thing I know is that
I'm in love with you Oh
Fly the wings of an eagle
No matter how high
I'll be thinkin' of you

(Repeat Chorus)

No matter how high
No matter how low
I'll be thinking of you
No matter what I do
No matter where I go
I'll be thinking of you

(Repeat)

Stay Away

(words & music by tepper - bennett)
Ten thousand miles even though I roam
I can hear the call of the hills of home
The canyons high and the valleys low
Echo how can you stay away
My dreams are there where the eagle flies
Where the mountain tops seem to touch the sky
The winding streams and the winds that blow
Ask me how can you stay away
Far too long have I stayed apart
From this land that I love and divide my heart
Now, now I know I must go
Where the hills say dont stay away
Where the hills say dont stay away

The Eagle and The Bear

The eagle's strength to compare that
of the bear this is how they fair the bear
can rip apart anything standing there
yet the eagle can fly through the air
the mighty physical strength of the bear must
stay on the ground in a limited area
around yet the eagle's strength of us do share
it's in every heart and on something's we wear
it shows the strength of the eagle for all to share
the eagle and the bear.

The Eagle Will Rise Again

Lead vocal: colin blunstone
And I could easily fall from grace
Then another would take my place
For the chance to behold your face
As the days of my life are but grains of sand
As they fall from your open hand
At the call of the winds command
Many words are spoken when theres nothing to say
The fall upon the ears of those who dont know the way
To read between the lines, that lead between the lines, that lead me to you
All that I ask you
Is, show me how to follow you and Ill obey
Teach me how to reach you I cant find my own way
Let me see the light, let me be the light
As the sun turns slowly around the sky
Till the shadow of night is high
The eagle will learn to fly
As the days of his life are but grains of sand
As they fall from your open hand
And vanish upon the land
Many words are spoken when theres nothing to say
The fall upon the ears of those who dont know the way
To read between the lines, that lead between the lines, that lead me to you
Show me how to follow you and Ill obey
Teach me how to reach you I cant find my own way
Let me see the light, let me be the light
And so, with no warning, no last goodbye
In the dawn of the morning sky
The eagle will rise again

Eagle Fly Free

People are in big confusion
They dont like their constitutions
Everyday they draw conclusions
And theyre still prepared for war
Some can say whats ineffective
Some make up themselves attractive
Build up things they call protective
Well your life seems quite bizarre
Bridge: in the sky a mighty eagle
Doesnt care bout whats illegal
On its wings the rainbows light
Its flying to eternity
Chorus: eagle fly free
Let people see
Just make it your own way
Leave time behind
Follow the sign
Together well fly someday
Hey, we think so supersonic
And we make our bombs atomic
Or the better quite neutronic
But the poor dont see a dime
Nowadays the airs polluted
Ancient people persecuted
Thats what mankind contributed
To create a better time
Bridge: in the sky a mighty eagle
Doesnt care bout whats illegal
On its wings the rainbows light
Its flying to eternity
Chorus: eagle fly free
Let people see
Just make it your own way
Leave time behind
Follow the sign
Together well fly someday

First Flight

The eagle teetered on the ledge,
Its first flight dead ahead!
Surveying all, next to the edge,
Its young heart filled with dread!
But Nature whispered on the wind,
'Just take your time, my friend...'
And though the eagle's brain still spinned,
Its fears came to an end...

Then all at once, its heart was brave
And with one single bound,
It raised itself as if by faith,
Its wings above the ground!
And off it swooped, the maiden flight,
With courage fate decreed...
And gravity soon lost the fight
With thermals to succeed!

So up it flew the thermal swirl,
Cascading now and then...
Then onward, upward, twist and twirl,
Till coasting once again...
But, oh, the flying! That's first rate!
Although it feels so rash...
Of course, the landing's not that great,
First time it's with a crash!

To think, each eagle's forced to learn,
To wing-it, as it were...
And just like others, take its turn,
So miracles occur!
Who knows how high the eagles fly?
I'm jealous as can be!
But I'm no angel, just a guy...
I'll stick to poetry...

The Place Where My Heart Lives

it is on top of a cliff
it is an eagle's nest
there is a red egg
in the middle of those
blue eggs

there is no eagle
anymore that flies there
anymore

the blue eggs spoil
there is nothing there
the blue egg
cracks
my heart still sings
the blues

the clouds listen for a while
then they cry
the way the rain falls on the plains
then they drift away

the blue egg cracks
and shall be silent for a while
until the black eagle comes
and takes it back
to the place where it must be
