A Brief Moment Out of Time

A year ends under a monstrous wave.
Eleven countries bury their dead, and
Cry for the hopelessness of what is.
Water recedes, spitting out what once was
Mother, sister, brother, new born, friend.
Like small broken shells they wash to the shore,
Picked over carefully by the living.
They look for what was theirs,
In a brief moment out of time.
Nature clawing back centuries of structure,
Ecosystems of every kind, fallen.
Into the maw of an ocean starved,
Proven by its savage molestation of the land.
Showing no discrimination while it swallowed
Cities, islands, and all that inhabited.
Then, fully gorged sluggishly withdrew
Leaving the remnants of its meal behind.
Tears of the living, blood of the dead,
Mingled with the salt of sea.
New rivers were born,
In a brief moment out of time.

The tears that I cry are not yours

I am not your friend who tried
to kill you last night
I am not you friend who mustanize
and try to get intimacy
I am not your friend who killed you
your father, then came back home with a gun on my face

I am not your friend
who is your friend
then your friend
what is a friend
when you have a friend
then a friend who is my friend
when I have a friend

The tears that I cry are not yours

I have never had a friend
like my mother
I have never had a friend
like my father
I have never had a friend
like my brother
my sister, she hates me
as much as I hate her

The tears that I cry are not yours

who is she to take off
her clothes in the middle of
the street and say the door will
be closed in the next fifteen minutes round

The tears that I cry are not yours

‘she my mother, my mother who cries
every time she thinks of
me’
you are my sister
but you were my sister
when my sister was born

The tears that I cry are not yours

every time I see her
I am happy
for she knows what it means to…

‘she used to come home to me
and say poy I have something for you to eat
don’t tell anyone

The tears that I cry are not yours’

Working Metaphore

Work is like an island in an ocean of time
Landing on this shore felt like paradise
But the island is small and quickly grows boring
I am standing in the water, looking out as I work

Time passes in portions of half an hour
Wave upon wave of life slipping down the tide-line
I am deciding whether to let go and wash away with it
Or hold on and climb the beach again

How many islands are in this ocean?
I gaze out and see a few just waiting for me
Can I swim to them, will they take me?
In the water between them, is there love lurking?

Changes are on the horizon, as a tsunami
Rolling towards this island invisibly, towards me
None of the islands will survive it, I fear
Or maybe only I will be washed away into oblivion

Tick, splash, tick, splash, wave upon wave of half hours
Carrying me just a little further from the dry sand
Behind me, the managers are calling from the trees
I hesitate for a moment, and let the waves wash over me

Only a few more, and I can swim for a while,
I might ride the changes to a far away place if I'm swimming
In the water I can meet another, to drown my regrets of the last
The waves wash over me, and I wait for the tide to swim

Dead And Broken

Too many things I've never spoken
I'm not feeling fine
I never told you what to do
I never made you a promise that you could hold me to
That'll be the day you see me crying
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
How many different faces can you show me?
How many times can you be right?
Another world of fantasy
Another reason for dramatizing everything
Taking it all in just one more time
I'm dying
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
Sorry to see that you're underestimated lately
I'd rather be dead and broken than living in your grace
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
Everyday, I still say you're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken
You're dead and broken

Eternity

I was born on the banks of eternity
A page of the history it teaches
Not a care, lived my life like a hurricane
Leaving everything along the way in pieces
Some may have cheered, some may have wondered
If I am flesh, if I am stone
Thoughts of you tear through me like thunder
You are the light that has led me back home
Take me to the river, baby
Wash away the lies
Ive got no reputation living in your eyes
Take me to eternity
Let me bury this disguise
A southern boy has it harder sometimes
Its like you were climbing a razor
You were there when my dreams had all turned to dust
And the man in the mirror was a stranger
Look at me now, a soulless survivor
No mask can hide the man that Ive made
You ease my pain
Your make it silent
Slowly I feel it beginning to fade
I want to feel it
Rushing over me into the tide
I want to taste it
Every moment til the end of my life
I have laid still, adrift in you memory
Hoping your faith would erase all the years
Maybe some time, maybe some magic
Maybe your love will make everything clear
Take me to the river, baby
Wash away the lies
Ive got no reputation living in your eyes
Take me to eternity
Let me bury this disguise
Take me to the river, baby
Wash away the lies
There are no expectations hiding in your eyes
Take me to eternity
And let me bury this disguise

Mother Nature She Rules

For her actions Mother Nature is above any blame
Since she always treats life and death as the same
The dead of the World in her bosom lay
And she goes on living and night follows day.

Mother Nature she dons her green cloak of the Spring
And in her leafy woods nesting birds chirp and sing
The life that she gives one day she will receive
And for her dead children she never does grieve.

For to sustain us on Nature we must depend
Yet Nature is one who does not need a friend
She will live without us when the life from us gone
Forever and ever she keeps keeping on.

Her Seasons they come and her Seasons they go
And her streams and her rivers to her oceans flow
And from the Earth's most northern to the most southern shore
Mother Nature she rules and will forever more.

Total Eclipse!

Time unto time
A door's closing
A seasons change
The end of ones pristine
Time unto time
A door's opening
An' season's anew
Yet one shall be missed
Moment by moment
Account of count
Thine pages of living proof
Moment by moment
count thy count
For your reminisce remains
Eclipse after eclipse
Toll upon toll
Always there for the need
Eclipse after eclipse
Toll upon toll
Always the planting of seed
Brother unto brother
Closer than blood
And a promise never unbroken
Brother unto brother
You are my blood
an' forever a part of me

I Guess Living Is So True

In trying to get all the clues
What living might be about

I know a man who said
You had a good life
If there are many people smiling
When you first shed the tears of being born
And if there are many people crying
When you’re long dead gone
I forgot his name
But I believe this is
What living might be about
A cradle and funeral treasure

I guess living is so true
In trying to get all the clues
What living might be about

Tasting the feel of questions
The dough of answers dwelling in different thoughts
And a blissful moment
When you suddenly do not care about either
But simply live a moment of your own truth
With an absurd credo that everything will be ok
Cannot prove anyhting
But pure joy of the choice you’ve made
A cradle and funeral treasure

I guess living is so true
In trying to get all the clues
What living might be about

Prempeh

The dead know nothing and the living are living in fear!
But you are too young to be inspired by this message at hand;
For, the intospections of my realm are than the things you love.

Present in the blood are viruses!
And like a colourful durber with the muse of love;
But, my pet is the cat and,
To relocate my mind is like the muse of my residence.

The micro organisms are in the blood!
So, do inform Prempeh my friend to visit me;
For, i do have a message for him in this land of many rivers! !
But, do keep fit with your romance and keep fit with the love around you as well.

The beasts of a woman are now on the hairy chest of a man!
but, the dead know nothing and the living are living in fear! !
But this muse of love is now noted in your land;
For, the days are now shorter than the beautiful flowers of love.

By The Ocean (For Dislocated Heart)

I stand by the ocean,
Breathing in the crisp air of night fall,
Watching the moon slipping away,
As the sky melts into the sea;
An endless darkness.
I can feel my mind falling into its depths,
Thinking about every breath I take,
About the world above,
And the world below.
Questions fill my mind,
Questions of life, living, and existence,
Yet still I stand,
Silent and still.
The gentle breeze in the palm trees,
Brushing my hair across my face.
The wind pushes my dress against my legs,
The feeling almost mimicking that of the water.
I can feel the cool spray of the ocean with each wave,
A giant lung breathing the same air as I.
It is a calm entity existing to exist.
A world so unknown and full of wonder,
Yet so simple from above…
I breath a sigh and close my eyes,
The sight of the waves imprinted on my eyelids,
The scent filling my nose and mouth,
The water touching my skin,
The taste of the salt on my tongue,
The repetitive sound of the water endlessly fill my mind.
My feet buried in sand as if to be innocent sand crabs.
A moment so calm and simple,
Yet so meaningful,
If you take the time to experience it,
A moment in which nothing else matters,
Nothing but the water, the sand, and living.
Everything else, like the sky,
Melts away into the sea,
Into the endless dark abyss.
And so I stand,
By the water,
Living and breathing.
If only the world would stop for a moment,
A moment to live and breathe too;
So relaxing and yet so eye opening.
The silence of the night wrapping around me,
The ocean rocking me into sweet oblivion.
Until I have to open my eyes and walk inside,
Back to reality,
But until then,
I'll just stand here,
By the ocean.

Gannets

I've never once seen them on land though from the shore I see
Them with folded wings from dizzy heights diving into the sea
And then they rise out of the waves and upwards again fly
These hunters of the ocean who stalk their prey from the sky.

To watch gannets fishing is an amazing sight
They fly above the ocean and dive from a great height
I once see one dead on a beach it was washed in by the tide
Born on a cliff ledge overlooking the sea and out at sea it died.

The gannets are true fishing birds on humans for food they don't rely
They roost and breed on remote ocean cliffs and of human kind are shy
They are birds I don't often see they are seldom close to the shore
Though I recall I once watched them fish for a half an hour or more.

True ocean birds born by the sea and out at sea they die
With folded wings they dive for fish like rockets from the sky
A guttural noise the only sound they make they do not have a song
They take their living from the sea and to the sea they belong.

Police Brutality

Guns blaze in rage and anger
leaving another dead
as bullets pierce a
body without armor,
leaving everyone asking the question
why, as no one understand the pain
of a mother

tears held back to show courage
as so called serve and protect
caused some damage
in anger and pain feeling brokenhearted,
left a brother with a gun in outrage

tears came down like rain
but none can wash away
the blood stain
the night you took my brother
left me here in so much pain
i loss all respect for the
badge and the name

Born In The U. S. A.

Born down in a dead mans town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog thats been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up
Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a.
I was born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
Born in the u.s..a....
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said son if it was up to me
Went down to see my v.a. man
He said son, dont you understand
I had a brother at khe sahn
Fighting off the viet cong
Theyre still there, hes all gone
He had a woman he loved in saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now
Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
Im ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run aint got nowhere to go
Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., Im a long gone daddy in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., Im a cool rocking daddy in the u.s.a.

Shells

Reaching down arm-deep into bright water
I gathered on white sand under waves
Shells, drifted up on beaches where I alone
Inhabit a finite world of years and days.
I reached my arm down a myriad years
To gather treasure from the yester-milliennial sea-floor,
Held in my fingers forms shaped on the day of creation.

Building their beauty in three dimensions
Over which the world recedes away from us,
And in the fourth, that takes away ourselves
From moment to moment and from year to year
From first to last they remain in their continuous present.
The helix revolves like a timeless thought,
Instantaneous from apex to rim
Like a dance whose figure is limpet or murex,
cowrie or golden winkle.

They sleep on the ocean floor like humming-tops
Whose music is the mother-of-pearl octave of the rainbow,
Harmonious shells that whisper forever in our ears,
The world that you inhabit has not yet been created.

I Was Born To Love You

(eric carmen/andy goldmark)
I never really understood love
No, not until I saw your face
Then I knew what Id been missing
For all my life
I never let myself believe it
No, not till I looked into your eyes
Then I knew I found all I need
The moment that I found you
I was born to love you
Born to be right here by your side
Through all your darkest nights
I was born to love you
Id do anything to make you mine
Until the end of time
Theres no need to ever doubt it
You set my love free when you walked in the door
You changed everything
Youre all that Im living for
I was born to love you
Born to be right here by your side
Through all your darkest nights
I was born to love you
Id do anything to make you mine
Until the end of time
You changed everything
Youre all that Im living for
I was born to love you
Born to be right here by your side
Through all your darkest nights
I was born to love you
Id do anything to make you mine

The Life Blood Of All Earth Life

nature and our planet
are special sacred holy
the life blood of all earth life...
when nature struggles humanity

struggles
when nature dies
humanity dies...
already industrial pollutants

diminish life quality
global warming super cell
unleashes disasters...
catastrophic Arctic ice melts

slow global
ocean currents
sea levels...
rising inundate coastal agriculture

eighty percent
of earth's mega cities
are sentenced will...
be swallowed under salt seas

rewriting destinies of countries
changing the shape of continents
swallowing low lying islands...
eating once familiar coastlines of the world

For Bill - My Brother

Who was aged five when I was born
My brother
Who hid my toys and broke my dolls
My brother
Who avoided his sister at school all day
My brother
Who tolerated my teenage years
My brother
Who as an adult became a friend
My brother
Who mellowed with each passing year
My brother
Who supported my desire to immigrate
My brother
Who was there when others weren't
My brother
Who buried our parents while I was gone
My brother
Who cherished every visit I made
My brother
Who had his ticket to visit me here
My brother
Who unexpectedly died this year

Why (The King Of Love Is Dead)

What? gonna happen now? In all of our cities?
My people are rising; they?e living in lies.
Even if they have to die
Even if they have to die at the moment they know what life is
Even at that one moment that ya know what life is
If you have to die, it? all right
Cause you know what life is
You know what freedom is for one moment of your life
But he had seen the mountaintop
And he knew he could not stop
Always living with the threat of death ahead
Folks you? better stop and think
Everybody knows we?e on the brink
What will happen, now that the King is dead?
We can all shed tears; it won? change a thing
Teach your people: Will they ever learn?
Must you always kill with burn and burn with guns
And kill with guns and burn - don? you know how we gotta react?
But he had seen the mountaintop
And he knew he could not stop
Always living with the threat of death ahead
Folks you? better stop and think
Everybody knows we?e on the brink
What will happen, now that the King of love is dead?

With The Copenhagen Climate Summit Flop

With the Copenhagen Climate Summit flop it cannot be denied
That the last hope of survival for many oceanic islands has died
Doomed to be swallowed by the rising sea
The politics of greed through nationalism the bane of humanity,
For the inhabitants of small ocean islands the future seems bleak indeed
Forsaken by the leaders of the World's most powerful Nations in their time of need
The painful reality they have come to realize
That they have to leave their islands as the sea levels rise
The so called Copenhagen agreement just an idle boast
Those who have contributed least to carbon emissions are those who will suffer most
The millions living in Third World Countries and the inhabitants of Oceanic Islands will sadly lose out
Of a bleak future for millions of poor people there can be little doubt
And all due to the politics of human greed
Of our own demise we may be sowing the seed.

Unlike Any Other Being

Every one is born in the flesh and they try to live their very best.
But from the moment we begin, our heart friend is tainted with sin.
We are born with a human nature and a cut above other creatures.
Unlike any other being we have been made in The Creator’s image.
In order to have Christ like love, one needs to be born from above.

We’re born with original sin and from the Garden that’s how it’s been.
And at the moment we’re conceived we are targeted to be deceived.
Adam’s sin was passed on to you, that’s every single Gentile and Jew.
And since we come from Adam and Eve, we too, can become deceived.
Friend Satan comes to deceive but Christ gives you power to believe.

He gives freely to all who believe, a gift by faith you just receive.
Satan only wants you to destroy; while Christ comes to give you joy.
Believe on The Lord Jesus Christ and you will receive Eternal Life.
And on the way to Eternal Life you become a New Creature in Christ.

God’s Mercy you can not win if you desire to continue a life of sin.
And being born spiritually dead, a dark eternity is what lies ahead.
But Christ as the second Adam friend provided for us a better end.
When we were children of the night Jesus came to guide us into Light.
And Christ came down to this strife to lead Believers into New Life.

A life of sin is empty and dead, so why not have New Life instead.
Born in a sinful darkened state, death is everyone’s ultimate fate.
Sin was cast out of Paradise and God will cause its future demise.
But to all men who are truly wise, The Lord has given spiritual eyes.
Eyes to see with Godly sight, that all men need The Light of Christ.
