Costing Dearly

What I had prized was only a memory
Fancy fading images of what use to be
The truth is you never valued me
On my soul you showed no mercy

What I had adored is only in my head
Forsaken, shanked, and left for dead
How memories sometimes distort the truth
Now a bittersweet taste of sour Vermouth

Better off I am now for I can see clear
For times needed you were never there
Your affection was never really sincere
My assessments you never wanted to hear

So much time spent wasted
Rancid now the foods once tasted
Still memories I want erased
Two-faced jester with dignity displaced

For time and only time shall tell
From good graces you fell
Once great but now just a shell
You fade to shades of pastel

You and the jezebel crew
Red no longer wanting blue
What did you get yourself into?
Your words spoken so untrue

Someone lacking a single virtue
Playing now at a different venue
Should have seen my point of view
No one now comes to your rescue

What a price to pay at such a cost
Iced over now from winter’s frost
To only realize what you have lost
All you see now is only my exhaust

Memories

Memories of good times

Memories of our love
So many memories

Memories of us crying
Memories of us laughing
Memories of our commitment
So many memories

Memories of us hugging
Memories of us kissing
Memories of those late nights
So many memories

Memories of how we met
Memories of how you left
Memories of what you said
So many memories

Why did you leave me
with so many memories
Did you ever realize
that my memories are yours

Everything we did together
stays within our memories
I remember getting hurt
Do you hurt too

Let's make a new memory
that we can both share
Let's love again

My Only Thoughts

How long ago did you hold me last
The memories of what has been
How have we let time go so fast
I hope it slows before the end
Those times I miss, your soft embrace
Those beautiful eyes
Your lips taste
But now you wear your disguise
Trying to fool the world
The fake face is your demise
The truth will be unfurled
So why do you hide
My love frozen in time
Why do I feel this thorn in my side
With empty words I made to rhyme
I cannot fill the hole where your heart once was
For nothing can be so whole
Yet I try and nothing does
So time once again takes its toll
Will you hear me Scream?
Will you hear my cry?
Will we once again be a team?
Or will you leave me here to die?
Answer I search for but never find
My shattered soul
My broken mind

Thoughts will no longer fill my head
The pain of lose to much to bear
The pain of things you could have said
Now I seem the worse for wear
And though I know I'm a fool
A court jester
The kings tool
I say this now
and say it again
for I could never say it too much
I love you now
I loved you then
and my love will stay as such

Thanks for the Memories by Fall Out Boy

[Intro]
I'm gonna make it bend and break
(It sent you to me without wait)
Say a prayer, but let the good times roll
In case God doesn't show...
(Let the good times roll)
(Let the good times roll)

[Verse 1]
And I want these words to make things right
But it's the wrongs that make the words come to life,
'Who does he think he is? '
If that's the worst you got
Better put your fingers back to the keys

[Chorus]
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you, only sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories;
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

[Verse 2]
Been looking forward to the future
But my eyesight is going bad
And this crystal ball
It's always cloudy except for
(Except for)
When you look into the past
(Look into the past)
One night stand...
(One night stand, oh)

[Chorus]
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you only sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories;
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!
Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

[Interlude]
They say
I only think in the form of crunching numbers
In hotel rooms collecting page-six lovers
Get me out of my mind
And get you out of those clothes
I'm a liner away
From getting you into the mood
Whoa

[Chorus]
One night and one more time
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you but sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories;
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!

[Chorus]
One night and one more time (One more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories
Even though they weren't so great;
'He tastes like you but sweeter'!
One night, yeah, and one more time (One more night, one more time)
Thanks for the memories, thanks for the memories; (For the memories)
'See, he tastes like you only sweeter'!

Fancy Colours

Going where the orange sun has never died
And your swirling marble eyes shine
Laughing
Burning blue the light
Bittersweet the drops of life
Memories only fading
Fancy colours
Fancy colours
All we ever did see
When were down at the sea
We see things so very clear at the sea
Fancy colours
Fancy colours
All we ever can do
The morning covered with dew
We do things so very fine in the dew
Fancy colours
Fancy colours
All we ever do hear
But whether were here or there
We hear things so very fine when were there

Girlfriend

You're really gone, girlfriend
The dryers on, I'm in
And I'm alone for the first time
(I walk away now [x2])
You left a sock good friend
Where's the pair broken
Are you aware that I'm missing you
(I walk away now [x2])
but I cant run to you no more
to catch me when I'm fallin
I know I have to let you go
But I will not be broken
No I will not be broken
But keep the slow fading memories
This place is strange, empty
You did your time, turned twenty
And walls are bare where your pictures hung
But I cant call you on no more
And no we cant just be friends
but now its time to let you go
but I will not be broken
no I will not be broken
and keep the slowly fading
memories memories
I keeping theses memories
I can't run to you no more
to catch me when I'm fallin
I know I have to let you go
But I will not be broken
For ever tear a lesson learned
Every good time golden
But now its time to let you go
And I will not be broken
And I will not be broken
No I will not be broken
And keep the slowly fading memories

Old Comrades

Many of my old comrades in arms, are now long dead,
Names written in my memories and stories no longer said,
At association meetings where memories are fading fast,
And I sometimes wonder, how much longer these good times will last.

I'm sorry to even say this but soon enough I too will be dead,
And you will too and it might even be you first, instead,
We just don't know the score, the when, the where or the why,
But we have no death-with-dignity when we lie down to die.

But we do have democracy, they often announce,
While binding referendums is something else they denounce,
We just have no political influence where it should count,
And if we do, it's a small insignificant amount.

Patterns Of Time

carefully looking at this time
and that other time
how they correlate to connect each time
of the next time
to follow the same pattern of time
with no dime
but a crime
if a time
is wasted on no time
for you will never find a time
on the same time
that was underutilized by the time
you realize it were time
it will never be the same time
but a different time
at that point in time
on each pattern of time
from am to pm it is time
still morning to midnight is time
and any time
of the day is time
as from monday to sunday time
year start to midyear and year end is time

so, time
ticking as you may be aware of time
that everything is well connected to time
and must be done on time
for you will never find the same time
of that very point in time
-
do what you can, on time. for time is never a fact but a situation of the same condition on a different setting, but still its time. therefore, time is longer than rope and shorter than your scope though at times time is beyond our scope of reach and intelligence of the mind on time.

Time and time again,

Time and time again,
Time and time again,
Man and time hast limits,
Limited knowledge on intelligence,
This pattern came back again,
Of my memories and obstacles,
Each man want's to conquer,

Time and time again,
Let's love humanity with truth,
Worship the Lord in spirit and truth,
Truth that I embrace,
Time and time again,
Elevate the words that are truthful to surpass the old.

My Favorite Memory

The first time we met is a favorite memory of mine
They say time changes all it pertains to
But your memory is stronger then time

I guess everything does change except
What you choose to recall
There's a million good day dreams to dream on

But baby your my favorite memory of all
Like the night we first got together on our bench
And held each other tight

Like the winter we spent together
Helping each other and closer then ever

And I remember our special times together
And our walks and our lost time together
It was always you who made the whole time a ball

It was you who called me just to hear my voice
Theres a million good times
I could dwell on

But baby you are my favorite memory of all
and you'll always be my favorite memory.

If I had Time

If I had time,
I'd go to Church,
And hear the Litany,
That says if I,
Pray till I die,
There's riches due to me.

If I had time,
I'd go to School,
And listen to the Sage,
Who'll tell me,
In his wisdom,
There are jewels on his page.

If I had time,
Then I would seek,
The Politicians view,
Who'd tell me,
If I vote for him,
That benefits accrue.

If I had time,
I'd look to Law,
To settle the dispute,
I'd seek advice,
Clear and concise,
If that would bear me fruit.

But are they selling Gems, or Glass, these wise and learned few?
I cannot put a price on truth, and nor, I think, can you.
So spend your time with Prudence,
Or with Sarah,
Or Yvonne,
That way you'll still have memories, when all the rest has gone!

Wasted Opportunities.

Wasted opportunities haunt the memory of adolescence,
I remember a time within the white room
As smoke bellowed alongside monsoon thunder
I placed resistance before instinct in turning my head from the girl.

These days she runs in frantic routines,
Finding time only once in a while to turn her smile my way.

My earliest memories are of the girl her eyes a blue fantastic
Piercing the hollows of my shell her smile was pure innocence,
Truly the only cure for looking glass blues.

Inside the circle we played amongst the grey
Seeking within the day the words to say to one another.
Paddling throughout infancy, attachments were set in stone
And even now no soul claims priority above the soul that Love forgot,
Not out of carelessness but of an inability to cope with the fact
She was never there to hold me true in embrace.

We were torn, seams worn at such a young age
That she seemed naught but a distant dream
Lost within the journals of memories wandering.

Forever picking up the pieces off the floor
Forever wanting for more, how am I
To grow in appreciation of the moment.

Seeing her again after so many years
Brought naught more than tears to my eyes.
Eros let sail an arrow from his bow,
Failing in stirring her passion he left me wounded
A soul out of fashion with the false idols of media that rule her world.

Burning Up

Would you believe me
If I said Id never lie
Though it aint easy
I can tell you I have tried
But I got to say
That it comes those days
That I told something untrue
Would you forgive me
If I said Id lied to you
This is my fear
To tell you what Ive done
As things come clear
Im afraid that youll be gone
But all I know
Is if you go
At least Ive told whats true
Hope youll forgive me
When I say Ive lied to you
Im burning up
Im burning for you
When the truth has been spoken
Theres nothing I can do
Yes Im burning up
Im burning for you
When the truth has been spoken
Theres nothing I can do
How will you kill me
For what Im about to tell
Please do it gently
cause you know Im bound for hell
All I know is
Ive lost my soul
Im burning inside
Hope youll forgive me
Yes I have lied
Oh yes Ive lied
Im burning up
Im burning for you
When the truth has been spoken
Theres nothing I can do
Yes Im burning up
Im burning for you
When the truth has been spoken
Theres nothing I can do
Now you know that Ive gone
And Ive been untrue to you
And once its told
Well you know theres nothing we can do
I regret that I let this get so out of hand
I pray, please stay, that youll understand
Im burning up
Im burning for you
When the truth has been spoken
Theres nothing I can do
Yes Im burning up
Im burning for you
When the truth has been spoken
Theres nothing I can do
Im burning up...
(repeat)

Hope against hope

Hope against all hope
That times will change
A word lingers
In time and place
Softly spoken
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears

Hope against hope
That love will grow
From the embers
A single spark
Lights the fire again
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears

Hope against hope
Time will soften
A hardened heart
A fractured mind
Bring peace to soul
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears

Hope against hope
That this is  a dream
I will wake soon
Covered in sweat
Breathing once again
Memories bring joy
Memories bring tears

Hope against hope
That tomorrow is different
Today didn't happen
But it did
Can't change today
Memories bring tears

Living Off Of Memories

I am living off of memories--
Just wasting my time....
The hours pass into days...
And there is no reason nor rhyme;

Blue skies have gone missing-
Replaced by dark grey--
The Sun has taken its leave---
And the night has replaced day;

Springtime no longer exists-
All the blossoms are withered and dry--
Summer times brillance...
For me has just died;

I am living of of memories--
Just wasting my time...
The hours pass into days
There is no reason nor rhyme;

All that is left is a remnant...
Of days spent with you...
The fabrric of yesterdays love...
Now distant from view;

It is far off and laying atop-
Our love making bed...
Just a remnant-a remnant...
Of loving words once said;

I am living off of memories--
Just wasting my time...
The hours pass into days--
There is no reason nor rhyme;

I'm caught in the between...
Of yesterdays time...
Back in that sweet day---
When you were once mine;

An Argument Forgotten

Some memories need to be re-written to become clear
Because they are newly projected as the events disappear
Things that were said may not apply again in this time
Although the words spoken linger like a committed crime
Words spoken in anger and frustration cut like a knife
Inflicting deep wounds that break open and come to life

Words used as a weapon leave scars in places hidden
But I carry them around with me disguised as forbidden
There is this gutting feeling that burns and hurt my head
The things that were said were meant to destroy and shred
I am no longer free because the burden is heavy and cold
Feelings of despair inflict dark thumbprints like a mold

It is hard to surface after the disappointment moved in
I feel lost and heartbroken and nothing is as it has been
Dark shadows and fog weigh heavy on my recollection
And no excuse I make can erase the threatening infection
I feel every letter of each word that you screamed out loud
Bouncing off my conscience like a suffocating dust cloud

Sitting down in silence your voice still echoes in my mind
But now reason and truth surfaces slowly no longer undefined
I know that your love for me made you insecure and lost
Somehow I did not make it clear that I love you at all cost
I can smile again because loving you gives me perspective
As I walk to tell you that all is good and nothing is defective

Old Comrades Oct 17th,2012

Some of my old comrades got sick and are now long dead,
Names written on graveyard stones and stories in my head,
At association meetings where all our memories are fading fast,
And I sometimes wonder, how much longer these good times will last.

I'm sorry to even say this but soon enough, I'll be dead,
Though I don't know how, when, where, or why, but it's all in my head,
If we could get death with dignity, it would give me peace of mind,
How many times can our Ottawa establishment decline?

We have no binding referendums so we cannot have change,
And no one up there among the aristocrats will arrange,
And less than half Canadians even bother to vote,
Where is the politician or aristocrat, we should promote?

Truth will ever Soothe

Truth will never die
It is patiently waiting
To come out one day
To be seen by all of us

It may now lose a deal
But, it is calculating
To strike at the right time
Its power, none can fathom

When truth is spoken
There Angels surround
And bless the soul
That fights for truth

Truth will at last triumph
It seems it has now lost
But, that is an illusion
Truth will one day win

So speak the truth always
Uttering lie invites disgrace
Wherever truth is suppressed
It, at the right time, erupts.

Unbroken

Fallen to pieces (I am undone)
The things you said the (manipulation)
I trusted you like a fool while you made all the rules
So you searched me out
And you took me down
-TO BE UNBROKEN, WHAT WOULD THAT BE
IF WORDS THAT WERE SPOKEN HAD NOT SHATTERED ME
IF I WAS UNBROKEN, I'D NEVER KNOW
THE BEAUTY OF HOPE AND HOW FAR GRACE WILL GO
TO BE UNBROKEN, TO BE UNBROKEN-
The things you found (to use against me)
Have lost their sound (where mercy and truth meet)
I fell to the Father's feet, His words washed all over me
And all the scars you made
Watch them fade away
[refrain]
I've tasted bitter, tasted sweet
Embraced the victory and some defeat
I've tasted bitter, tasted sweet
I've found the beauty in the place they meet
[refrain]

The Better Part Of Life

We're all together once again
For the first time in i don't know when
We were so close once upon a time
There were five of us kids at home
Two girls, three boys and dad and mom
But that was in the better part
Of life we left behind
Remember that old swimming hole
Where we would swim so long ago
And all them possum grapes and muskedines
And do you recall the time
We all got drunk on homemade wine
That was in the better part
Of life we left behind
Life was simple for us then
If only it could be again
How i wish we could go back in time
But time moves on and nothin' lasts
Except the memories from the past
Memories from the better part
Of life we left behind
Remember how we talked as kids
Of what we'd be when we got big
And all the dreams that we held in our minds
I wanted to be a singin' star
And you all said that i'd go far
But that was in the better part
Of life we left behind
Remember all the fun we had
Back when they say times were bad
And life was good to us and things were fine
We had fun and we had love
And a mom and dad to care for us
But that was is the better part
