To Old Age
I SEE in you the estuary that enlarges and spreads itself grandly as
it pours in the great Sea.

Seeing the rebirth of the Delaware Estuary as a valuable natural resource is certainly encouraging, and I am encouraged not just by the progress made in the Delaware Estuary but in estuaries throughout the country.

The Delaware Estuary has sustained a human population for thousands of years, but by the end of the 19th Century, increased population and industrialization had transformed much of the upper Estuary watershed.

The Light Pours Out Of Me
Time flies
Time crawls
Link an insect up and down the walls
The light pours out of me [x2]
The conspiracy of silence
Ought to revolutionize my thought
The light pours out of me [x2]
The cold light of day pours of of me
Leaving me black and so healthy
The light pours out of me [x2]
It jerks out of me
Just like blood
In this still life
Heart beats up love
The light pours out of me
Pours out of me....

A Diver's Dilemma
By the estuary where sea / river clash
Froth surface broken but nothing torn,
Bubbles flattened like mushroom caps-
Frontier closes on sky below land,
Whence the diver's descent to underworld,
Without walls of life, beacon and back to coast
Fellow rover. Travel worn, he spreads arms in vain
And vainly peers the whale's way and calls for pilot.
Beyond these limits as the mirage melts away,
Not the faintest ray enlightens the distant shore
Where the lost may steer or get the truth that lies
Along the unwalked way, beyond the last threshold.

A Path Of Brown Stain...
the heavy rain from the sky
pours upon the heads of the mountains
the rain takes upon its feet the rivers on a journey to the mouth of the sea
it escapes and creates a brown island that spreads on the belly of the sea
it is not beautiful to see
how stains are made
the sea is sinful and it will always be

The middle region of the sky
The middle region of the sky,
wherein the spirit dwelleth,
is radiant with the music of light;
There, where the pure and white music blossoms,
my Lord takes His delight.
In the wondrous effulgence of each hair of His body, t
he brightness of millions of suns and of moons is lost.
On that shore there is a city,
where the rain of nectar pours and pours,
and never ceases.
Kabîr says: 'Come, O Dharmadas!
and see my great Lord's Durbar.'
Dark Journey
We are on a long journey always relentless,
Few moments in it are felt as discerning;
It is a boring escape into the abyss of black health,
Getting to know this illness captures the philosophers
And we must captivate the many people who think.
Little formality is about and around, more to thinking
Is the action of the incidents that may arrive at our feet.
It is out of this world, a world of fever is never allowed
Since the fantasy enlarges the whole sentence of death.
Death eaten is death begotten, much more from life.
We have nodded and concealed the real message
So well produced by the writers of essays and facts.
We have leaned forward and backward as the winds collide
To awaken our sensibility, our nonsense is surrounding us.
The monsters of the deep share our worries, but darkness spreads.

The Rumour
(elton john/bernie taupin)
This is the last time
Ill look across this table
And try to face a feeling I dont even recognize
This is a sad hand
That reached across and touched you
When all wed built around us came crashing to the ground
There was a tide turning
Somewhere deep inside us
When all these years together seem lost behind my tears
Oh there were good times
But in between the dog days
I felt the pain of rumour whisper in my ears
But I still tried to love you
I still tried to care
Still tried to hold on with the power of my prayers
But you cant fight the rumour
You cant argue with you heart, no
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
Once the rumour spreads, the truth is just a thing of the past
As the rain falls
I listen to the radio
And try to memorize the words to georgia on my mind
But were no old song
We never stood the test of time
The lies inside the rumour left trust so far behind
But I still tried to love you
I still tried to care
Still tried to hold on with the power of my prayers
But you cant fight the rumour
You cant argue with you heart, no
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
Once the rumour spreads, the truth is just a thing of the past
And when we say goodbye
Be sure to look me in the eye
And know the real secret
Was the thing we didnt have to hide
But I still tried to love you
I still tried to care
Still tried to hold on with the power of my prayers
But you cant fight the rumour
You cant argue with you heart, no
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
Once the rumour spreads, the truth is just a thing of the past
Once the rumour spreads, once the rumour spreads
The truth is just a thing of, its just a thing of
The truth is just a thing of the past

The Retinue of Dionysos
Damon the craftsman (none better
in the Peloponnese) is giving the last touches
to his Retinue of Dionysos
carved in Parian marble: the god leading
in divine glory, with power in his stride;
after him, Intemperance; and beside Intemperance,
Intoxication pours out the satyrs' wine
from an amphora wreathed in ivy;
near them, Sweetwine, the delicate,
eyes half-closed, soporific;
and behind come the singers
Tunemaker and Melody and Reveller—
the last holding the honored processional torch
which he never lets die—and then Ceremony, so modest.
Damon carves all these. And as he works
his thoughts turn now and then
to the fee he's going to receive
from the king of Syracuse:
three talents, a large sum.
Adding this to what he has already,
he'll live grandly from now on, like a rich man,
and—think of it—he'll be able to go into politics:
he too in the Senate, he too in the Agora.

Ego is a balloon
Ego enlarges like a balloon,
Feeding on air, until it bursts.
Without air, it will sag, of course.
With air, it’s not solid to hold.

For Lina Spies
Sometimes you let me think
of a small girl
whose eyes are full of the shining stars,
sometimes I find
a sensible mature woman
who spreads her words free and full of spirit
and comely pours a glass of wine
you let me laugh, cry and make me happy
and your trust in the Lord
is true and solid like a rock
as if you are always looking up into His eyes
and time after time
it’s as if your verses fit into my mind,
as if things sometimes look the same to us both.

When It Rains, It Really Pours
(words & music by w. emmerson)
You know what it takes,
Youve got it, baby.
You are the only one I chose.
Dont leave me here with all these heartaches,
Only you and heaven knows
About my troubles troubles troubles.
When it rains, it really pours...
You shouldnt have took away my loving
You know you thrill me from head to toe.
I got a feeling for you baby
And youre the only one who knows
About my troubles, troubles, troubles.
When it rains, it really pours...
You know what you did to make me love you
You really opened up my nose.
You got what you wanted, now you left me.
Thats the way the story goes.
Well, I got troubles, troubles, troubles.
When it rains, it really pours.

Joy
Though joy is better than sorrow joy is not great;
Peace is great, strength is great.
Not for joy the stars burn, not for joy the vulture
Spreads her gray sails on the air
Over the mountain; not for joy the worn mountain
Stands, while years like water
Trench his long sides. 'I am neither mountain nor bird
Nor star; and I seek joy.'
The weakness of your breed: yet at length quietness
Will cover those wistful eyes.
