Small Beer

I am so
small beer
even a sparrow
wouldn't
wet his beak
let alone
slake his thirst.

sparrow And Cat

O sparrow
O sparrow
Either you are week
Or delicate
It does not matter
For flabby cat
She catches you
To eat you up
You are for her
Wine and a cup
You shrilly shriek
Can not awake
Sympathy in the slake

Mother Sparrow Leaves Not Carrying Anything

the mother sparrow does not
know about a funeral
how can it hold a white flower
entertain meaning
using its black, short beak?

today, her young sparrow
lies dead
shattered wings, severed feathers
the worker-ants are sensing the scent of blood
the delicacy of sparrow meat
and now carry them all toward their
queen
underground

there is no memory for mother sparrows
there is no son
the fledgling is gone, gone

then she flies far away
to another season
not carrying anything, not a seed even inside her gut

Little Sparrow

Little sparrow
Dolly parton = little sparrow
(chorus)
Little sparrow, little sparrow,
Precious fragile little thing
Little sparrow, little sparrow
Flies so high and feels no pain.
All ye maidens heed my warning
Never trust the hearts of men
They will crush you like a sparrow
Leaving you to never mend.
They will vow to always love you
Swear no love but yours will do
Then theyll leave you for another
Break your little heart in two
Repeat chorus
If I were a little sparrow, over these mountains I would fly
I would find him, I would find him, look into his lying eyes
I would flutter all around him, on my little sparrow wings
I would ask him, I would ask him, why he left me loving him
Repeat chorus
I am not a little sparrow, I am just the broken dream
Of a cold false-hearted lover and his evil cunning scheme
Repeat chorus
All ye maidens fair and tender
Never trust the hearts of men
They will crush you, like a sparrow
Leaving you to never mend.
Little sparrow, little sparrow,
Oh my sorrow never ends.

Mercy, Mercy

Mercy, mercy, I'm so thirsty.
I thirst for a cup of kndness now
to flow into the bed of dryness
that's parched the hearts somehow
of all the mighty ones
that look, but do not see.
They've closed their eyes to all of those
that live with misery.

Their cups are filled right to the brim
to slake their thirst at will.
No tiny drops of kindness drip
from atop their Kingdom's hill.

Mercy, mercy, I'm so thirsty.
When will my thirst be quenched?
Only when humanity's cup runneth over
and the plights of the masses are drenched.

My Water Fountain

I drank glasses of water,
I drank water from office coolers.
Many people drank from water fountains.

I thought my thirst I could slake,
If I drank water from a cool lake.
Then I would would drink cold water,
From gushing waterfalls.

But much to my surprise,
I thirsted for all of Earth's water.

I couldn't fathom my inner self,
About slaking my thirst insatiable.
I couldn't come to grips about,
The deep waters of my life.

Was it my body? Or was it my soul?
Then I very quickly learned,
That this thirst for water that was burning in me,
Was my unending thirst for love

That everybody yearns for.
And everybody needs.
In quantities of glasses, coolers, waterfalls,
Lakes, oceans and seas.

The Confrontation

The angry sparrow, narrow and light
fiercely pursued the thieving crow
slender beak stabbing
smooth black feathers,
rising and diving,
rolling and turning,
a vicious top-gun
dog-fight.

Then the crow, tired of torment,
set heavily down on the high lamp post
as the small bird circled, crying invective,
taunting the crow to rise again and fight!

but the old crow, patient and wise
settled comfortably for this shrill siege
and calmly waited for the air-show to end.

Finally, exhausted,
the sparrow gave up,
but claiming victory,
like Odysseus
nearly home
at last,

became Homer,
and composed his own
epic poem
of the fierce
midnight raven,
homewrecker
wrought low,
driven down
into death’s
bitter dust,

which, of course, he sang
in heroic,
avian meter
to his faithful,
Penelope.

Beak Kind To Birds!

Beak kind to birds both near and far,
Both high and low as well...
To me, each bird's a superstar!
In fact, to me, they're swell!
Beak kind to birds and show you care
With titbits now and then...
And watch with wonder as they share
Their breakfast once again!
Beak kind and keep your cats at bay...
Else feeding birds take flight!
It's nicer seeing birds at play
Than watching them take fright!
Beak kind to birds, give them their space
So they may co-exist...
For none on Earth can take their place,
So they'd be sorely missed!
Beak kind to birds, they'll flock to you -
They're all our feathered friends!
It doesn't matter, black or blue...
Beak kind - 'cos it makes sense!

Chug-a-lug

Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Gary likes a girls tight black pants
Larry knows he doesnt stand a chance
Carl says hurry up and order it quick
Dave gets out to chase that chick
Dennis wonders whats under the hood
A big chrome tach and it sounds real good
I go down to the root beer stand
And drink up all that I can
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Cold beer, root beer
Here a mug, there a mug, everybody chug-a-lug
Brians still glued to the radio
Louies lookin out the rear window
Guys got around to orderin fries
But root beers my best buy
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)
Give me some root beer (chug-a-lug chug-a-lug chug-a-lug)

Root beer, need another mug now
Root beer, chug-a-lug-a-lug now

The Phenomenology Of The Sparrow

you have seen a sparrow
on a twig
pulling with its beak
a ripe guava

you have seen how it flies away
after a very short fill

do you feel the freedom of its wings?
do you hear the wind beneath its feathers?

do you wish to capture it on a trap
using a latex sap?
do you wish to catch it with your hands
and feel its softness with your fingers?

when you put it in a cage
is it beautiful
to see it sad and
be not able to fly and to sing
on a beautiful morning?

or is it more beautiful flying with the wind
singing freely its own songs of freedom
rather than be silent
and sad in your very own hands?

have you ever felt
once in your life
that you are a sparrow
too tiny
too soft
too innocent
for another
creature's
cruelty and cunning?

Sparrow

Who will love a little sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest?
"Not I," said the Oak Tree
"I won't share my branches with no sparrow's nest
And my blanket of leaves won't warm her cold breast"
Who will love a little sparrow
And who will speak a kindly word?
"Not I," said the Swan
"The entire idea is utterly absurd
I'd be laughed at and scorned if the other swans heard."
Who will take pity in his heart
And who will feed a starving sparrow?
"Not I," said the Golden Wheat
"I would if I could but I cannot I know
I need all my grain to prosper and grow"
Who will love a little sparrow?
Will no one write her eulogy?
"I will," said the Earth
"For all I've created returns unto me
From dust were ye made and dust ye shall be

Flights

Little sparrow, little sparrow
The prince is gone
Romance and magic flown
Little sparrow, little sparrow
Why do you circle round,

Round the hospital ground
And courtyard littered, concrete
Of facade gray, fading yellow red
Flocks and flocks a circling

Circling to escape sun beams
Seek holes and niches
Crevices and crannies
To nest in concrete

Tweeting calling, thrill of flight
Come in bands and crowds
Crowds and flocks
Each no bigger than my palm

Magpii and magi
Bewithcing souls of flight
And never landing, in my sight

Little sparrow little sparrow
What secret do you know
Impels you to go and fly about

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches over me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches
I know He watches
I know He watches me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
He watches me
I know
He watches

White sparrow

white sparrow you see me standing
you could kill me without landing
your wing is just as long as a man
you are as cold as a snowy day

you have come here from heaven
you must of as you fight my devil's
your feathers turn slowly black with my sin
and yet you stay beautiful as always

my sin is like a ciggerate it will turn you black inside
but you cannot die as you are one in your own
you came from heaven so your holy arent you
god sent you for me so you must do what you must do

my heart was never red nor white but black
i was born with my sin and also that of my kin
but white sparrow you have taken that from me
and now you are dying you turned black whilst i change to white

oh my lord what a sight it must be to see
a boy like me clean of all carrying a bird of sin
i am carrying you white sparrow your heart is no longer cold
and your body no longer white nor wings large

but white sparrow you will not die, no you will not
for you white sparrow you came from heaven for me
when i picked my child's name people laughed you did not
you looked at my child in his cot and nodded now you cant

for white sparrow you dont belong with me not anymore
your must leave for heaven and recover to help others
so farewell white sparrow il missy you my saviour
now go to that sin filled woman and help her

for white sparrow i will look for you as you continue
for white sparrow i will see you in heaven....goodbye

Vanishing Sparrow

VANISHING SPARROW
Oh! Sparrow! Where have you gone?
Till yesterday you were here born,
I wonder, how you're from us torn,
Oh! Sparrow! W here have you gone?

Oh! Sparrow! I remember your chirpy call,
To children you were their first pal;
It was a real sight, so sweetly pleasant,
To behold you hopping around us, hesitant!

We were in enchantment of your beauty,
Nibbling at the scattered grains in bounty;
To your cool chirps, we were driven,
Our hearts, you did merrily enliven.

A cozy two-some you were ever,
Your flight was with your lover;
You eagerly took sand and water baths,
At it with glee filled our happy hearts.

With you, once our houses were dotted,
But now from us you have parted;
With man, why are you, in strife?
You know, you play a role in the web of life!

Hark! I hear the little sparrow speak!

The small creature with it's tiny beak!
"Oh! Man, I love your company too,
I'm also like you, now down in rue;

Me, to live with you, you couldn't woo,
It's all your own making-so very true;
Your concrete buildings are a vainglorious show,
To live with animals and birds you have let go.

You have no dwelling place for this sparrow,
Your mind has become very narrow;
You manure the fields and harvest seeds,
You spray pesticide and kill our insect feeds.

Where have we to build our nests?
Where have we to have our rests?
Where are we to lay our eggs?
How are we to raise our chicks?

You're all enamoured of the cell phone,
You've built towers in every zone;
You're perhaps unaware of the microwaves
That ripple through and on our enclaves..

In this inhospitable atmosphere,
How are we to live with you here?
Oh! Man! Do ponder over our survival,
Does it not behoove you for our revival? "

Sorry! My dear sparrow-so very sorry,
We ne'er reflected over your woes-don't worry;
Thanks for enlightening us of your story,
We shall, sure, make amends promptly.

Just for you, we've ear-marked a special day,
It'll be celebrated across the Globe to pave a way;
From the year 2010 it'll be 20th of March every year,
Public awareness will certainly raise you, my dear.

We'll start House Sparrow habitat conservation,
And put up nest-boxes for your propagation;
We'll provide water and food regularly,
And switch back to organic farming presently.

We'll make you secure from the canines,
We'll let you be shielded from the felines;
You'll be safe from the human foot-falls,
And soon see yourself hopping with your pals.

I'm sure your population will thus increase,
And your animosity with us will cease;
Our progeny shall ever admire you as we did,
And we shall remain with you as you bid.

Lesbia’s Sparrow

All you Loves and Cupids cry
and all you men of feeling
my girl’s sparrow is dead,
my girl’s beloved sparrow.
She loved him more than herself.
He was sweeter than honey, and he
knew her, as she knows her mother.
He never flew out of her lap,
but, hopping about here and there,
just chirped to his lady, alone.
Now he is flying the dark
no one ever returns from.
Evil to you, evil Shades
of Orcus, destroyers of beauty.
You have stolen the beautiful sparrow from me.
Oh sad day! Oh poor little sparrow!
Because of you my sweet girl’s eyes
are red with weeping, and swollen.

Give Way

I know a man from Lancashire
who had a horse and cart for hire.
The horse was old but the cart is strong,
somehow together they didn't belong.

When they became one there was a change,
Ears went up, whip in the tail, snap the riegns.
They came to a bridge, it looked a little weak
As they crossed, it hobbled, tapped and creaked.

The wooden bridge was small and norrow
not to long, but only room for one to pass.
Towards them flapped a little brown sparrow,
horse thinks, no way he's makin me into an ass.

The old horse snorted and put his head down,
nothing would stop them getting to town.
Said the horse: ' no one's gettin in my way'
Then the little sparrow flew up, got out the way.

Hovering above watching everything,
just like a slow motion scene.
The sparrow saw the horse
fly through the trucks screen.

P.S. We used a proffessional stunt horse, he is Ok.
