His Eye Is On The Sparrow
Why should I feel discouraged
Why should the shadows come
Why should my heart feel lonely
And long for heaven and home
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is He
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches over me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches
I know He watches
I know He watches me
I sing because I'm happy
I sing because I'm free
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know He watches me (He watches me)
He watches me
I know
He watches
Me

A Higher Power Watches
A Higher Power Watches
Who deliberately causes
The innocent to flout
The sweet to become bitter
The peaceful to become upset.
A Higher Power Watches
People who provoke
The good to do evil.
To speak unkind
To deceive to live unclean.
A Higher Power Watches
How the family behaves
How friends are engaged
Or how who ever interrupts
Or encourages a Life.
A Higher Power Watches
Consciously every move.
Inspirations and righteousness
Cleanliness and courage
Ameliorations and aspirations.
A Higher Power Watches
What every insight sees.
Every intellectual knowing
Every attitude existing
What life's breath blows.
A Higher Power Watches
Every humilation
Every honesty and sincerity
Every forgiveness
And every loving thought.

Be an umpire
Players watch the game they play.
The umpire watches the game.
The audience watches the game.
The staff watches the game.
Their emotions and reactions vary.
Being an umpire is the best option.

For The Sake of My Child
The prayer tells me to ask for serenity to accept the things I cannot change.
My child watches and waits by my side.
The prayer tells me to ask for courage to change the things I can.
My child watches and waits by my side.
The prayer tells me to ask for wisdom to know the difference.
My child watches and waits by my side.
The actions I need to do for my recovery are just too hard today.
My child watches and waits by my side.
The time I pity myself and doubt if anyone really understands is plenty.
My child watches and waits by my side.
The hands on the clock do not stop for me to catch my breath.
Not even for the sake of my child.

Happy is the person who not only sings, but feels God's eye is on the sparrow, and knows He watches over me. To be simply ensconced in God is true joy.

He Is In Heaven
He is in heaven
And from heaven he watches me everyday
But I can't see him at all
Because the dixtance from heaven and earth is too far to see
But I know that he is happy in heaven living his life
Also I live my life here on earth every single day
God watches after him
And the angels serve his meals in heaven in God's dining room
After the meals he watches his tv every single day
Because he needs to keep up withthe news from the world
If he was alive today he would be 109 years old
When he lived on earth he lived a modest life
And he was kind to everyone that he knew

Burgers Or Fries
The little sparrow
doesn't cadge a feed
earns it by wile
watches the mechanical doors
open and shut
follows people
in or out
dines on a smorgasbord
of burgers and fries
for the little sparrow
no hunger pain
tomorrow he'll do it
again
my last feed
came out of a bottle
as soon as I walk in
the staff
shoo me out.

The moon watches us...
the wind blows,
up against
our cold cheeks,
the moon watches us.
together,
here on this hill
we sit close to
eachother,
the moon watches us.
side by side we sit,
close to eachother, so
warmth is between us,
the moon still watches us.
thinking of eachother,
we think in our mind how
much we love eachother,
the moon is still thier
just like the first time i
pictured me and him together.

0025 How many steps to God?
What are you looking at, this moment? ..
You can answer this question?
Then you're watching the looking...
And that which watches the watching that watches the looking..
Always, without fail...
Yes

The Watches Of The Night
O the waiting in the watches of the night!
In the darkness, desolation, and contrition and affright;
The awful hush that holds us shut away from all delight:
The ever weary memory that ever weary goes
Recounting ever over every aching loss it knows--
The ever weary eyelids gasping ever for repose--
In the dreary, weary watches of the night!
Dark--stifling dark--the watches of the night!
With tingling nerves at tension, how the blackness flashes white
With spectral visitations smitten past the inner sight!--
What shuddering sense of wrongs we've wrought
that may not be redressed--
Of tears we did not brush away--of lips we left unpressed,
And hands that we let fall, with all their loyalty unguessed!
Ah! the empty, empty watches of the night!
What solace in the watches of the night?--
What frailest staff of hope to stay--what faintest shaft of light?
Do we _dream_ and dare _believe_ it, that by never weight of right
Of our own poor weak deservings, we shall win the dawn at last--
Our famished souls find freedom from this penance for the past,
In a faith that leaps and lightens from the gloom
that flees aghast--
Shall we survive the watches of the night?
One leads us through the watches of the night--
By the ceaseless intercession of our loved ones lost to sight
He is with us through all trials, in His mercy and His might;--
With our mothers there about Him, all our sorrow disappears,
Till the silence of our sobbing is the prayer the Master hears,
And His hand is laid upon us with the tenderness of tears
In the waning of the watches of the night.

Daybreak
Becoming wide awake at the first light
he lies motionless, watches her
in her tranquil sleep,
where she is right there,
but somewhere away from him.
He is far too scared to move,
scared to wake her up
before the set time
and then suddenly her eyes open,
she watches him,
draws him close to the heat of her body.

A child's perspective....
There's an angel in the curtains
mummy, mummy come and see.
Daughter, daughter I can see her
she's as pretty as can be!
Why is she in the curtains?
Mummy, mummy tell me do.
She is your guardian angel
and she watches over you.
Will she come and play with me?
I've great games we could play.
No dear, you must find some friends
and they will play those games.
So if she's my guardian angel
who watches over her?
Daughter darling daughter
God watches over her.
And mummy, mummy tell me
who watches over God?
No one, darling daughter
but we can give God love.
Then mummy I will love him
by morning and by night.
I don't want him to be lonely
when he's in bed at night.

On the Summit of Mt. Clarence
On the summit of Mount Clarence rotting slowly in the air
Stands a tall and naked flagstaff, relic of the Russian scare—
Russian scare that scares no longer, for the cry is “All is well”—
Yet the flagstaff still is standing like a lonely sentinel.
And it watches through the seasons—winter’s cold and summer’s heat,
Watches seaward, watches ever for the phantom Russian fleet.
In a cave among the ridges, where the scrub is tall and thick
With no human being near him dwells a wretched lunatic:
On Mount Clarence in the morning he will fix his burning eyes,
And he scans the sea and watches for the signal flag to rise;
In his ears the roar of cannon and the sound of battle drums
While he cleans his gun and watches for the foe that never comes.
And they say, at dreary nightfall, when the storms are howling round
Comes a phantom ship to anchor in the waters of the “Sound”,
And the lunatic who sees it wakes the landscape with his whoops,
Loads his gun and marches seaward at the head of airy troops—
To the summit of Mount Clarence leads them on with martial tread,
Fires his gun and sends the Russians to the mustering of the dead.

Selina sees our misery.
The moon mistress of mystery
has observed mankind’s history.
For centuries and centuries.
Though she has seen it all before
Mankind’s love of making war
Against her rules which men ignore.
While trying to impose their will
on other men. They lack the skill
to come to terms and so they kill.
The goddess watches in despair.
Because her children do not dare
to show each other that they care.
All members of one family
and still they squabble endlessly
Instead of living peacefully.
In time perhaps they will mature
and change the course of their nature
She hopes but cannot be sure.
Because her children have free will.
And choose their way for good or ill.
The goddess waits and watches still.
A symbol of serenity
she waits and watches patiently.
Long suffering humanity.

Flippie comes and lies with me
Flippie comes and lies with me
and she wants to know,
why you are staying away
for so long
and her dog eyes
watches me.
Kyla swings her big tail
and is very glad to see me,
but goes away to wait for you
for she hopes
to see you before the night.
Jeanie lays at the gate
and watches the street into the dark,
to see if you come
and she moans
when I call her to come in.
Slowly the day’s pass
while we wait on you
and I wonder if they
are treating you well
and the tea is nice,
but I drink it alone
and I know well
that our time on this earth
is just borrowed.

0399 The Eye of I
our deepest being is that which observes:
which watches, far beyond all forms of thought,
as hand and tool and all the senses serve
to find and make new things; or shine at sport;
which watches its own stillness in deep peace
and knows it knows, yet knows not what that is -
except that in this being is release
from all that's not; a peace akin to bliss.
There may be further being yet to be;
but in this present observation shines
a world that's fresh, and bright, and new, and free,
which fills the heart with joy, and clears the mind.
If we should doubt that we know 'self' or 'soul' -
that one, who's still, and knows 'I am', tells all.

When the Sun goes down
He watches that she leaves for her late husband's smallholding
And she counts the fowl comes back home before the evening
Star peeps in the sky.
He volunteered to do the job and she's happy.
He watches the farm overnight with her foxhound.
One day the kind lady proposed him;
'You are too young to stay alone there
Better stay in my attic and help me to do my day's strenuous work.'
The orphan youth agreed wth a smile like a page boy.

People Watching
She silently watches the people go by.
She spies on them picking their noses!
She sees all their foibles, their laughter their cries
and watches them trip over toeses.
Some are so funny and some are so sad
some are so dozy and some are so bad,
scratching their arses they dress to impress
except for that man in his worn out, string vest.
She is alone in her bedroom
watching the world go by.
She'd join in the fun if they'd let her
but they reckon she's waiting to die.
Nevertheless they amuse her,
she giggles and cackles away
except for each week on a Thursday
when her son takes her out for the day.

When Summer Went
The summer, it watches over winter
Manchester, you get stuck like the splinter
in the skin of the industrial mother
standing by his side watching him suffer
the citys bright lights are just a cover
for the body lies under the dieing
the citys tears fall, the sky is crying
the jogger, he soon becomes a sprinter
The summer, it watches over winter.
