The Greater Cats

The greater cats with golden eyes
Stare out between the bars.
Deserts are there, and the different skies,
And night with different stars.
They prowl the aromatic hill,
And mate as fiercely as they kill,
To roam, to live, to drink their fill;
But this beyond their wit know I:
Man loves a little, and for long shall die.

Their kind across the desert range
Where tulips spring from stones,
Not knowing they will suffer change
Or vultures pick their bones.
Their strength's eternal in their sight,
They overtake the deer in flight,
And in their arrogance they smite;
But I am sage, if they are strong:
Man's love is transient as his death is long.

Yet oh what powers to deceive!
My wit is turned to faith,
And at this moment I believe
In love, and scout at death.
I came from nowhere, and shall be
Strong, steadfast, swift, eternally:
I am a lion, a stone, a tree,
And as the Polar star in me
Is fixed my constant heart on thee.
Ah, may I stay forever blind
With lions, tigers, leopards, and their kind.

Blind Love

Words and music by tom waits
Now youre gone
And its hotels and whiskey and sad luck days
And I dont care if they miss me
I never remember their names
They say if you get far enough away
Youll be on your way back home
Well Im at the station
And I cant get on the train
Must be blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love
Stone blind love
Well the streets turning blue
The dogs are barking and the night has come
And its tears that are falling
From these brown eyes now
And I wonder where you are
And I whisper your name
(I whisper your name)
And the only way to find you
Is if I close my eyes
And find you with my blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love
Stone blind love
Oh its blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love

Im A Laser

I saw him by the dj
The way he danced was cool
They said I stood no chance
They called me little fool
Well here I am before you
And all your friends can see
You roasting like a turkey
Its just this flame in me
And no one can burn like me
I am a laser
Burning through your eyes
And I know what kind of man you are
And I long to hold you tight
I am a laser
Knowing right from wrong
And I know what kind of heart you have
A heart so big and strong
I dreamed how much Id lay on you
Sitting by your side
Driving in my dusenburgh
Going for a ride
Im going to turn my beam on
If only for an hour
You know I switch the heat on
When you feel my golden shower
And no one can burn like me
I am a laser
Burning through your eyes
And I know what kind of man you are
And I long to hold you tight
I am a laser
Knowing right from wrong
And I know what kind of heart you have
A heart so big and strong
I know what the boys call me
They think Im black barbarella
But only one beam do I have
And thats this heartbeat of mine
I am a laser
Burning through your eyes
And I know what kind of man you are
And I long to hold you tight

The Way To Happiness

How long ye miserable blind
Shall idle dreams engage your mind,
How long the passions make their flight
At empty shadows of delight?
No more in paths of error stray,
The Lord thy Jesus is the way,
The spring of happiness, and where
Shou'd men seek happiness but there?
Then run to meet him at your need,
Run with boldness, run with speed,
For he forsook his own abode
To meet thee more than half the road.
He laid aside his radiant crown
And love for mankind brought him down
To thirst and hunger, pain and woe,
To wounds, to death it self below,
And he that suffer'd these alone
For all the World, despises none.
To bid the soul that's sick be clean,
To bring the lost to life again,
To comfort those that grieve for ill,
Is his peculiar goodness still.
And as the thoughts of parents run
Upon a dear and only son,
So kind a love his mercies shew,
So kind and more extreamly so.

Thrice happy men (or find a phrase
That speaks your bliss with greater praise)
Who most obedient to thy call
Leaving pleasures leaving all,
With heart with soul, with strength incline
O sweetest Jesu! to be thine;
Who know thy will, observe thy ways,
And in thy service spend their days:
E'en death that seems to set them free
But brings them closer still to thee.

A Love Above Loves

When I think of you
I think of a certain kind of love
When I hear your name
I hear a certain kind of love
When I look at you
I see a certain kind of love
When I hold you
I hold a certain kind of love
When I kiss you
I kiss a certain kind of love
When I touch you
I touch a certain kind of love
When I fell in love with you
I fell in love with a certain kind of love
When I'm with you
I'm with a certain kind of love
When I'm wrapped up in you
I'm wrapped up in a certain kind of love

This certain kind of love
Is stronger than love
It is a transcended state
A love that can only be gifted from above
A love that is greater than any other love
This certain kind of love
Is strong and true
This certain kind of love
Makes two people stay true
This certain kind of love
Can never be extinguished
I believe that we have this kind of love
A love so true
Maybe not love at first sight
But I do believe that I was meant for you
Do you believe it too?
This certain kind of love
Is a love above loves
This certain kind of love
Is a true love
So true

Slow Love

I want some slow love
The kind that lasts forever
The kind of love that will be there in the morning
I want some slow love
The kind that leaves me never
The kind of love that lasts a long long time
Now dont mistake my coolness for a cold heart
I want you more than you should know
Its just these days Im not inclined to move so fast
Why dont you stay a while say a hundred years or so
And make some slow love
The kind that lasts forever
The kind of love that will be there in the morning
I want some slow love
The kind that leaves me never
The kind of love that lasts a long long time
Im not inclined to live a lifetime in one night
Although I long to touch I yearn for much, much more
A slow love
The kind that lasts forever
The kind of love that will be there in the morning
I want some slow love
The kind that leaves me never
The kind of love I thought Id never find
The kind of love that lasts a long time

To Night

Swiftly walk o'er the western wave,
Spirit of Night!
Out of the misty eastern cave,
Where, all the long and lone daylight,
Thou wovest dreams of joy and fear,
Which make thee terrible and dear--
Swift be thy flight!

Wrap thy form in a mantle gray,
Star-inwrought!
Blind with thine hair the eyes of day;
Kiss her until she be wearied out,
Then wander o'er city, and sea, and land,
Touching all with thine opiate wand--
Come, long-sought!

When I arose and saw the dawn,
I sighed for thee;
When light rode high, and the dew was gone,
And noon lay heavy on flower and tree,
And the weary day turned to his rest,
Lingering like an unloved guest,
I sighed for thee.

Thy brother Death came, and cried,
Wouldst thou me?
Thy sweet child Sleep, the filmy-eyed,
Murmured like a noontide bee,
Shall I nestle near thy side?
Wouldst thou me?--And I replied,
No, not thee!

Death will come when thou art dead,
Soon, too soon--
Sleep will come when thou art fled;
Of neither would I ask the boon
I ask of thee, beloved Night--
Swift be thine approaching flight,
Come soon, soon!

Darkness And Sorrow

Speedy to the plunder,
Swift to the spoil;
The lion will eat straw like the ox.
A tumultuous noise,
The bricks have fallen down;
Light and joy,
Darkness and sorrow,
The wolf will dwell with the lamb;
To the brook of the willows like,
The Sycamore Tree that are cut down.

Love is as strong as death,
Jealousy is as cruel as the grave;
Listen to my muse oh Earth!
As white as snow,
To shave with a hired razor;
As slow as the tortoise,
The leopard will lie down with the goat;
In a barren night like a stillborn child where,
The teeth of the young lions are broken;
Darkness and sorrow,
Love is as strong as death itself.

Looking For a Friend

Days are long and nights are cold, with men seeking one to behold.
One who will fill that longing inside, one whose love won’t be denied.
The Father with that kind of Love, sent His Son from Heaven above.
Christ will not forsake you friend, His Love will carry you to the end.

So when your days are too long, Christ will fill your heart with song.
And on a cold and darkened night, Christ will fill your heart with light.
Friend, in many unexpected ways, you’ll see His Love all your days.
My friend, His Love will be just right, even through the darkest night.

His faithfulness will far outweigh, unknown burdens along your way.
My friend, if your faith should wane, Jesus Christ remains the same.
And even when we are faithless, faithful, Christ remains towards us.
In us, Christ in Spirit lives inside, and Christ Himself can’t be denied.

Christ’s Love for you far exceeds, all your hopes and all your needs.
The Love of Jesus Christ is pure; and it is one Love that will endure.
The Lord is filled with agape love, from The Father in Heaven above.
His Love is not an earthly kind, and so your love will not be declined.

So if you are looking for a friend, then Jesus Christ I do recommend.
His Loving friendship will not waver, but is one you’ll eternally savor.
Others friendships may cease to be, but The Lord’s will last eternally.
There is no greater love in the end, than one who dies for his friend.

The only golden fairy

sitting by the deadly tomb stone
your name engraved gold
'in love and death which i shall live
forever and ever in your debt'
i read,
but ms.death beckend for you that day
and as she called you listened
i wish you hadnt listened
i saw your golden fairy again
this fairy keeping me alive
as thought of you burn up my mind
the gold embers strong and sweet
i love this fairy as i loved you
staring at these deep rationed words
on this dead cold stone
as the gold lights up the sky
the only gold fairy i have ever seen
lights up the sircuts in my mind
please stay with me my love my darling
your fairy by my side
as i cry i scream out loud
'in love and death we both shall live
forever and ever in your debt.
will forever live on
through me
through you
through us

(Love&Death Poem) A (I Love You) Final Resting Place

Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
It can't end this way
Just listen to me
You will make it
You will live on
With you the kids are growing so strong

Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
No its not okay
You must fight
With all you strength
Think of those you love
Think of those who depend on you the most
Anything to keep you going

You are the one I love.
You the one that I just cant let go.
No matter how hard I try
I looked into her eyes and she died
I never got to say my final goodbye
A (I love you) final resting place

Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
In your eyes i see the beautiful sparkle of the of the snow
Just live on.
This is just so wrong.
My heart is already gone
It has jumped out my body and committed suicide
Just beat the hell out of my insides

Forever attached to the moment
Oh no
Oh no
I just can't let go
Sir but you have to the paramedic says
I'm sorry shes already gone
How could this happen?
Why me?
I thought we were destine to be.
A long lived family.
This will never be satisfactory.
I'll love her till the day I die.

What We Believe

Faith is what we believe
Death is constant fear we live
Water is deep still we dive
Reluctance still we give

Why faith is to make hope
When we are not willing to walk on rope?
Why we leave everything to faith and become illogical?
Not admit the fault and try to be honest and vocal

If I have to live by faith
I shall surrender to reality of death
Know it for certain what I am today
And what will be tomorrow on the way

I love to live among nice and kind hearted
I want to pick from where I had started
Lost in between and got derailed
Now I want to reaffirm and get it availed

I know many hurdles on the way
Yet I must say and firmly stay
That I love my fellow brethren
I promise to live with no concerns

I may not find heaven
I should remain unconcerned even
Let my present not turn into hell
I wish it to speak well

I know what the love can make it to be
Let all people sense within and feel free
The total universality of belonging and oneness
See then the power and impact of happiness on face

The Sightless Man

Out of the night a crash,
A roar, a rampart of light;
A flame that leaped like a lash,
Searing forever my sight;
Out of the night a flash,
Then, oh, forever the Night!

Here in the dark I sit,
I who so loved the sun;
Supple and strong and fit,
In the dark till my days be done;
Aye, that's the hell of it,
Stalwart and twenty-one.

Marie is stanch and true,
Willing to be my wife;
Swears she has eyes for two . . .
Aye, but it's long, is Life.
What is a lad to do
With his heart and his brain at strife?

There now, my pipe is out;
No one to give me a light;
I grope and I grope about.
Well, it is nearly night;
Sleep may resolve my doubt,
Help me to reason right. . . .

(He sleeps and dreams.)

I heard them whispering there by the bed . . .
Oh, but the ears of the blind are quick!
Every treacherous word they said
Was a stab of pain and my heart turned sick.
Then lip met lip and they looked at me,
Sitting bent by the fallen fire,
And they laughed to think that I couldn't see;
But I felt the flame of their hot desire.
He's helping Marie to work the farm,
A dashing, upstanding chap, they say;
And look at me with my flabby arm,
And the fat of sloth, and my face of clay --
Look at me as I sit and sit,
By the side of a fire that's seldom lit,
Sagging and weary the livelong day,
When every one else is out on the field,
Sowing the seed for a golden yield,
Or tossing around the new-mown hay. . . .

Oh, the shimmering wheat that frets the sky,
Gold of plenty and blue of hope,
I'm seeing it all with an inner eye
As out of the door I grope and grope.
And I hear my wife and her lover there,
Whispering, whispering, round the rick,
Mocking me and my sightless stare,
As I fumble and stumble everywhere,
Slapping and tapping with my stick;
Old and weary at thirty-one,
Heartsick, wishing it all was done.
Oh, I'll tap my way around to the byre,
And I'll hear the cows as they chew their hay;
There at least there is none to tire,
There at least I am not in the way.
And they'll look at me with their velvet eyes
And I'll stroke their flanks with my woman's hand,
And they'll answer to me with soft replies,
And somehow I fancy they'll understand.
And the horses too, they know me well;
I'm sure that they pity my wretched lot,
And the big fat ram with the jingling bell . . .
Oh, the beasts are the only friends I've got.
And my old dog, too, he loves me more,
I think, than ever he did before.
Thank God for the beasts that are all so kind,
That know and pity the helpless blind!

Ha! they're coming, the loving pair.
My hand's a-shake as my pipe I fill.
What if I steal on them unaware
With a reaping-hook, to kill, to kill? . . .
I'll do it . . . they're there in the mow of hay,
I hear them saying: "He's out of the way!"
Hark! how they're kissing and whispering. . . .
Closer I creep . . . I crouch . . . I spring. . . .

(He wakes.)

Ugh! What a horrible dream I've had!
And it isn't real . . . I'm glad, I'm glad!
Marie is good and Marie is true . . .
But now I know what it's best to do.
I'll sell the farm and I'll seek my kind,
I'll live apart with my fellow-blind,
And we'll eat and drink, and we'll laugh and joke,
And we'll talk of our battles, and smoke and smoke;
And brushes of bristle we'll make for sale,
While one of us reads a book of Braille.
And there will be music and dancing too,
And we'll seek to fashion our life anew;
And we'll walk the highways hand in hand,
The Brotherhood of the Sightless Band;
Till the years at last shall bring respite
And our night is lost in the Greater Night.

Death in the Jungle

When leopards prowl,
When lean wolves howl,
When vultures swoop
Upon their prey,
When panthers leap,
When lions growl,
Then Death removes
His sinister cowl
And soon begins
To maim and slay.

Where eagles fly,
Where grey sharks lie,
Where deadly snakes
In dark holes lurk,
Where scorpions hide,
Where screech owls cry,
There Death awaits
And bye and bye
He moves about
To do his work.

The Spiritual Warrior

I sit here quietly under the dark night skies,
My face is warmed by the tears from my eyes,
The glitter of stars so distant and cold,
Not unlike the love I would hold,
The night air around me is crisp and clean,
The irony of love to my soul is so mean.

I must be strong I am always told,
I’ll use up my strength before I get old,
The source of my strength is fed by love,
But how do you eat the wings of a dove,
They are beyond my reach and one of a kind,
The essence of love is so hard to find.

The food of love to strength is sweet,
The Spiritual Warrior sees not defeat,
By denying his soul the Warrior progresses,
Searching for love through strength he confesses,
I sit here quietly under the dark night skies,
My face is warmed by the tears from my eyes.

(dusty's live cover of the old elvis tune.)
(some of the lyrics are not listed)
California
Baby let me be
Your lovin?teddy bear
Put a chain around my neck
And lead me anywhere
Oh let me be
Your teddy bear
Baby let me be
Around you every night
Run your fingers through my hair
And cuddle me real tight
Oh let me be
Your teddy bear
I don't want to be a tiger
Cause tigers play to rough
I don't want to be a lion
cause lions ain't the kind
You love enough
I don't want to be a tiger
Cause tigers play to rough
I don't want to be a rhino
Cause rhino's horn to gruff
I don't want to be a cheetah
Cause cheetahs scratch your stuff
I don't want be a lion
Cause lion's ain't the kind
You love enough
Oh now baby let me be
Around your cage tonight
Wrap your lock around my key
And turn it round just right
Oh let me be
Your teddy bear
Oh let me be
Hay hi ho teddy bear
Oh teddy bear
