Documentary Rerun
Each time it reruns,
The documentary is
Shorter than it was
Before. Each time it reruns,
There are longer commercials.

The Anger Behind The Swing Of This Axe
With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.
Images flash across my brain.
It's like I'm watching the most hated reruns on television.
And no matter what I do they just keep playing.
I wish I never meant you.
I wish for something sweet instead of something so bitter.
I've been told the taste will fade.
Well I'm still waiting.
With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.

It's like I'm watching the most hated reruns on television.
And no matter what I do they just keep playing.
I wish I never meant you.
I wish for something sweet instead of something so bitter.
I've been told the taste will fade.
Well I'm still waiting..
I did everything right and it still went so wrong.
Perfection in the moment and now its gone.
If I only knew what I know now.
I would have ran for the hills.
Never looked back.
Like a ghost completely disappeared.
Across the hemisphere.
Above the highest atmosphere.
Mind you they are limitation I grant you.
But still I don't think it's that far of an exaggeration.
With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.

I've been told the taste will fade.
Well I'm still waiting.
A broken heart I'm not debating.
For I know at one time I did love you.
But it faded as you became so god damn jaded.
Nothing I did was ever quite good enough.
With love their should never be any expectation.
Except not too stray or put yourself a abusive situation.
Support and do the best you can for your family and friends.
But in this case you didn't allow that to happen.
With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.

I've been told the taste will fade.
Well I'm still waiting.
I want to blame you for my unhappiness.
But I can not.
For I'm better off now then I ever have been.
In my eyes you have already been forgiven.
For your road was rockier then mine has ever been.
I will never forget the kids they will always be in my heart as if they were my own.
One autistic, the other blind.
You don't even acknowledge I ever existed.
Even as I ask how they are.
So I will never know.
With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.

Manna for Morons
Television is such a bore.
If anything that kills brain cells
The TV is the number one
Cause of permanent brain damage.
Between the ridiculously
Lengthy commercials, reruns and
The misnomer: “situation
Comedy” with its canned laughter,
A viewers IQ can dropp five
Points, perhaps more after sixty
Minutes of exposure, truly!
We have all become a nation
Of clones: It tells us what to buy,
What’s best to view and when to laugh.
Do you feel rundown?

Reruns
I live my life by watching it all pass
In thirty minute increments—in shows.
I'm feeling tired from sitting on my a**.
I don't go outside. I've heard fresh air blows.
I'm encapsulated and contained by my chair
In a world scripted and superficial:
Mem'ries manipulated for a stare,
Pixelated by blocks of commercials.
What I see is what I want… maybe not.
I prefer to watch… oh, I like watching
My melting brain cryogenic'lly caught—
Now, no more are the baby thoughts hatching.
Instead, I repeat myself in reruns,
An endless cycle of prepackaged fun.
I'd change the word if not for the rhyme scheme.

Who's Stopping You
Take all that you've got
Multiply by zero
Divide by the time you've got left
That's x
Add it up write it down tell me what you've found
We're speaking in tongues
Both of us dumbfounded
Our brains have been impounded by our hearts
Life is so uncertain
Look at all the hurting that we've done
You said you had somebody better to become
Who's stopping you
Who's stopping you
Who's stopping you
Who's stopping you
We're wasting our time
Watching our old reruns
Waiting for the good one that never comes
You say it beats working
On the emptiness that's lurking inside your head
Step into the light my friend
Who's stopping you 4x
You said you had somebody better to become
Who's stopping you 8x

Reruns are wonderful because it usually indicates that they had something going for them to begin with and that's why you're still looking at them. And in both my shows, The Dick Van Dyke Show and the last one, they were so well written and so good they hold up.

Ours is a life of constant reruns. We're always circling back to where we'd we started, then starting all over again. Even if we don't run extra laps that day, we surely will come back for more of the same another day soon.

Radiance
I've had enough of this red light
I've been waiting here for no one.
Driving on like reruns and feeling nothing new
Time has stopped
Resting some for this town it's comforting to know nothing new
If I could only make a sound
Holding the stars like paintings we are
Pull one down for me
Colors alive like radiance
Swimming back to your sea
I can't explain this feeling that's been grounding me for so long
Keeping faith
I move on
Praying for something soon
How long must I scream to the guards to let me out
To the past I'm anchored

Note From Echo
Narcissus, I no longer haunt the canyons
and the crypts. I thrive and multiply;
uncounted daughters are my new companions.
We are the voicemail's ponderous reply
to the computers making random calls.
We are the Muzak in the empty malls,
the laughtrack on the reruns late at night,
the distant siren's chilling lullaby,
the steady chirp of things that simplify
their scheduled lives. You know I could recite
more, but you never cared for my recitals.
I do not miss you, do not need you here—
I can repeat the words of your disciples
telling lovers what they need to hear.

Name
And even though the moment passed me by
I still can't turn away
Cause all the dreams you never thought you'd lose
Got tossed along the way
And letters that you never meant to send
Get lost or thrown away
And now we're grown up orphans
That never knew their names
We don't belong to no one
That's a shame
But if you could hide beside me
Maybe for a while
And I won't tell no one your name
And I won't tell your name
Scars are souvenirs you never lose
The past is never far
Did you lose yourself somewhere out there
Did you get to be a star
And don't it make you sad to know that life
Is more than who we are
You grew up way too fast
And now there's nothing to believe
And reruns all become our history
A tired song keeps playing on a tired radio
And I won't tell no one your name
And I won't tell your name
I think about you all the time
But I don't need the same
It's lonely where you are come back down
And I won't tell your name

Patterns Of Time
carefully looking at this time
and that other time
how they correlate to connect each time
of the next time
to follow the same pattern of time
with no dime
but a crime
if a time
is wasted on no time
for you will never find a time
on the same time
that was underutilized by the time
you realize it were time
it will never be the same time
but a different time
at that point in time
on each pattern of time
from am to pm it is time
still morning to midnight is time
and any time
of the day is time
as from monday to sunday time
year start to midyear and year end is time
so, time
ticking as you may be aware of time
that everything is well connected to time
and must be done on time
for you will never find the same time
of that very point in time
-
do what you can, on time. for time is never a fact but a situation of the same condition on a different setting, but still its time. therefore, time is longer than rope and shorter than your scope though at times time is beyond our scope of reach and intelligence of the mind on time.

The Book Hides A Mask
If I were a book, I’d be the saddest story ever told
Tears to dampen the pages of every book sold
It would’nt start out with once upon a time
My story would be about me, a victimless crime
About many storms in life, always drowning in sorrows
Thrown away as someones trash, no tomorrows
Beaten down till no hope at all, but still grasping at strings
Having not much happiness in material things
Heart always broken, shred into many pieces
Not wanting to try, but a life with many new leases
I’ve got to try, continue going for my loved ones
But each day of life is nothing but reruns
I feel like I’ve lived a hundred years, and I’ll keep going
So tired but a smile on my face will keep showing
For all to see this beautiful mask I wear on my face
The pain I carry I will keep to myself and never fall from grace

Lies About Tall Guys
Just seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys seem to get executive jobs
Shorter guys work mostly as clerks
Taller guys never seem to be slobs
Shorter guys always seem to be jerks
Taller guys seem to get all of the action
Shorter guys seem to be quite invisible
Taller guys always seem to deserve satisfaction
Shorter guys are lonely and miserable
Just seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys just seem born to play sports
Shorter guys kinda seem to like tennis
Taller guys certainly look better in shorts
Shorter guys look like Dennis the Menace
Taller guys are usually at the top of their class
Shorter guys seem to fail quite a lot
Taller guys always seem to kick ass
Shorter guys want to, but simply cannot
sure seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys get better grades and such
Shorter guys seem to barely scrape by
Taller guys seem to do better, pretty much
Shorter guys always wonder why
Taller guys seem to have eyes like a hawk
Shorter guys seem to wear glasses a lot
Taller guys cover more ground when they walk
Shorter guys, to keep up, have to trot
Sure seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys and their friends look like N.B.A players
Shorter guys look more like cheerleaders
Taller guys seem to look like dragon slayers
Shorter guys look a lot more like bleeders
Taller guys seem to have more gear to protect
Shorter guys wear more protective gear
Taller guys, more confidence seem to project
Shorter guys have less confidence, more fear
Really seems like it’s that way to me
Taller guys appeal to the female gender
Shorter guys always seem to choke
Taller guys carry a lot more legal tender
Shorter guys always seem to be broke
Taller guys seem to drive high dollar cars
Shorter guys drive toyotas
Taller guys seem to reach for the stars
Shorter guys reach for diet sodas
Taller guys are obnoxious, let’s neuter them all
Shorter guys are great people, always a delight
Taller guys are an abomination against mother nature’s law
If you think I’m a short guy….well, you’re right!
Really seems like the way it should be

Heritage
“...here thy generations endeth in accord.”
I physically resemble my mother
And father and therefore must have been
Adopted, because on my TV screen
The role-children rarely share a feature
With either parent. The fact they're actors
And I'm not is what makes me misbegot—
A matched world of monitors all 2-shot
The mirror daily where I pray these stars
Come: cancel everyone of us whose names
And clans have sundered human unity
Descend always among daughters or sons
To live still, beyond the Net's trivia games,
Till their faces cloned shape ours. Family.
From android to ape, we'll be Thy reruns.

I AM VERY BORED! save me please
It's that time of life
When you are totally bored
you just sit around and wait for something to happen
or you make your own fun
then that fun
gets B.O.R.I.N.G
and a bit lame
its like a sickness
the symptoms are
spacing out
watching reruns
breaking things just for the hell of it
or maybe even bashing your head against a wall
maybe
i hope you don't
that sounds really painfull
Well if you get bored
just breakdance
or
get a gun
and
shoot your self
or
even that annoying little yorkie across the street
There are so many cures for boredom
write a poem...um... it doesn't have to be a good poem
go rob a store (that's always fun...to watch)
make a movie
do some illegal things
hey you may get into trouble,
but it will cure the boredom
for a few minutes...hours
if you have paper
do oragami
or go ninja
make paper bombs and scare your neighbor
Ok don't do that, seriosly
what if your neibor is elderly
eh?
well then you can get an ambulance
and maybe
practice your new learned CPR on that old person
So Yeah.
Make Your Own Gosh Darn Fun
But please don't get into too much trouble
that may prevent fun

TIVO executives stand up and say, 'Well, we're not getting rid of commercials, but we are letting them fast forward, because people like commercials, and if they see one that they like they stop and watch it.' I mean, please.
